The Kings are making some noise.

And while it remains early, the truth is that no one expected them to make headlines at any point of the season. But their win over Oklahoma City on Tuesday improved their record to 4-4, marking the first time the Kings have been .500 since Dec. 4, 2006.

That was not only three years ago but three coaches ago, a slice of history that reflects the turmoil that has surrounded this team in recent years. Then-coach Eric Musselman was coming off a driving-under-the-influence charge from that preseason that served as quite the buzzkill. The sobering revelations would only continue from there.

But the Kings have a chance to continue their decent start if they protect the home floor—six of their next nine games are at Arco Arena.
