Richmond Folk Festvial, Year 2 - Day 2: Rain, Man

2013-10-13T20:00:00.000-07:00

So, it's still raining here at the Richmond Folk Festival. But it didn't stop these guys from doing whatever it is they're doing:

What are they doing??

After experiencing this amazing entertainment outside, we decided to check out what was going on inside the tents. We saw this incredible Indian dancer:

I was mesmerized.

And I made this hat:

New hat.

It's a little big...

...but I love it!

Then I lost my hat. But I got ice cream.

And anybody who's anybody knows that any day a toddler has ice cream is a good day.

Oh, and of course I rode on the carousel again:

with my cousin Chase!!!

So despite the lack of a certain red dinosaur and all the friggin' rain, I had a great time. See ya next year, Folks!

Richmond Folk Festvial, Year 2 - Day 1: Suddenly Showers

2013-10-12T20:00:00.000-07:00

It's that time of the year again: the leaves are changing, the air is crisp, the beach is closed (or it should be), and Mama has put away her summer sandals and broken out her boots. Also, it's time for the Richmond Folk Festival!

Last year the weather was warm and beautiful and I had SO MUCH FUN. Also, there was Seymour. Do you remember Seymour?

xoxoxo SEYMOUR!! xoxoxo

He was my first BFF. I had big plans for Seymour and me. Still do. But *spoiler alert* Seymour isn't going to be there this year. As if this isn't tantrum fodder enough, the weather forecast is for rain. Every day.

It delivered.

But it didn't stop me from getting my groove on.

I'm dancing!

I'm dancing!!

Or hula hooping.

Alone.

A joyously welcomed addition to this year's festival, however, was a carousel.

Mama seemed to especially enjoy the carousel's rain sheltering benefits. We rode on it a lot. Like the rest of the day. Not that I minded, but they could try to maybe switch up the music a little bit. I sure hope tomorrow it rains a little less - just for Mama's sake.

Beach Baby Part II - Post Season

2013-09-28T20:00:00.000-07:00

All my recent traveling has been exhausting. So to relax and refresh, I went to the beach again!

That's Daddy, me, and Uncle Bissy greeting the water!

We are all in Rehoboth Beach for some fun in the sun. I had so much fun at the beach this summer that I couldn't wait to get back into the water! Here I go:

Holy freezing moly, people!! Did you know that the water is frigid this time of year?? No wonder there's barely anyone else here. Someone really needs to explain things like "post season" to me before I go bounding into the bounding main like a veteran member of the Polar Bear club. Notice how I run away at the end and head straight toward the sun trying to seek some warmth. Oh, it's hilarious, Mama, laugh it up. And you, too, Daddy.

I hope you're still laughing tomorrow when I throw your shoes into the water and you have to run in to get them. At high tide.

I'm talking about you, flip flops.

Sick Day

2013-09-23T20:00:00.000-07:00

It's official...

I'm sick.

And it's no fun. All I want to do is sit on the couch and watch my stories. At least I get to catch up on what Olivia and the Fresh Beat Band are up to. (Surfing and building a car, respectively.) But I'd much rather be outside playing.

Zoey feels my pain.

Or maybe it's the pain of me lying on her.

Either way, she's a great kitty nurse.

The Three Seasons, Extended

2013-09-19T20:00:00.000-07:00

I know you've been patiently waiting for an update to my Three Seasons post back in May. Right? Well, today's the day! The photo to complete the series, and the summer, is ready.

First, a recap:

This is me at my favorite playground...

Summer 2012

Fall 2012

Spring 2013

And... today!

Look, I'm on the BIG slide now!!! I don't waste my time on the kiddie slide anymore. What am I, a baby? I'm two years old now, people. Keep up!!

Ok, fine, I do still go on the kiddie slide, too.

See you in the fall! (Forget you, winter!!)

Una Poca de Gracia

2013-09-16T20:00:00.000-07:00

The real reason Daddy took me to Illinois:

That's Daddy and me chowing down on some La Bamba "as big as your head" burritos. He loves these things!

Here's Daddy inquiring if I liked it, and I'm like

Hmm, let me think about it...

Judging by my almost empty plate...

Oh, yeah, I liked it!

The Windy Second Chicago-Town

2013-09-15T20:00:00.000-07:00

Hey, everyone, I'm in Chicago! (Or slightly outside of.) Here I am with my new friends Lucy and Kyle:

Do you know that Lucy and Kyle have a whole room in their house filled with toys called a play room! Can you believe it? Mama says (begrudgingly) that our whole apartment is my play room, but I'm totally digging the separate space.

Lucy and I have been having so much fun together! See for yourself:

We are new BFFs!!

Until I leave tomorrow.

Plane!

2013-09-13T20:00:00.000-07:00

If I look a little nervous below, it's because it's my very first time on an airplane.

But then I had a cocktail and refused to let go of the cocktail stick.

We all have our vices.

P.S. Guess where I'm going! Here's a hint:

They have deep-dish wiggly bridges here!

Slide Show

2013-09-10T20:00:00.000-07:00

It's Gma in a pink dress!!

Wheeeeee!!!

Flower Child

Sometimes, even in New York City, you have to stop and smell the flowers.

Two Princess

2013-08-19T20:00:00.000-07:00

FOREWORD: If this post seems like déjà vu to you, it's because it was originally posted in real time back in August. You know, when it actually happened. But since this blog is always backdated by, oh, three months or so, here it is again!

It's my 2nd birthday!!!

If it's anything like last year's birthday, it will probably be my second birthday many times over, and I'll be so hopped up on sugar from all the cake that I won't sleep until my third birthday. But here's what happened so far.

I woke up to this:

A ginourmous choo choo set!

I played with it ALL morning. No, I would not go outside. I also Skyped with Uncle Alex while opening his presents - so it was just like he was here!* Except that every time I high-fived him on the tablet, I would accidentally hit a button and hang up on him. *Note: It really wasn't like he was here at all! Also, how did he know I would love Mr. Potato Head??

Later, I got a very special necklace. Here's Daddy putting it on me:

A pink heart!

And my subsequent dash to the mirror to check out how it looks:

Then we went out to have dinner. But first I had to take a brief moment to stop and give myself and my new necklace a birthday hug on the street.

At dinner I had a cocktail, natch:

And a balloon, of course:

And something chocolatey/ice creamy with a candle in it:

People were singing, which made me a little shy for a moment:

Then I blew out the candle:

And dug in!

I even had a moment to snuggle with Mama and my dolly before bed.

It was a great day! I can't wait for all the rest of my 2nd birthday celebrations. Bring on the cake!!

EPILOGUE. One day my blog will catch up to the present, I know it!

Beach Baby

2013-08-17T20:00:00.000-07:00

Today I went to the beach for the very first time! I was going to post a whole bunch of photos to show you how the day went, but I decided to just post a video instead.

Presenting my very first time in the ocean ever:

Don't be confused by my running away from the water at the end...I love the ocean!

Ok, fine, I'll show you some photos, too!

Whee! I had so much fun I didn't even mind having sand in my diaper (to Daddy's horror). I love the beach!!

Cat Bear Hug

2013-08-15T20:00:00.000-07:00

Zoey and I are really making headway in our toddler-feline friendship:

I hug Zoey's head, she can't get away.

Cocktail Cutie

2013-08-11T20:00:00.001-07:00

There's nothing like sipping a fruity cocktail on a Sunday morning.

Ah, sweet nectar.

I even love eating the lemons.

Clearly delicious.

Here I am striking a pose with my cocktail:

I'm voguing!

And here I am posing with Daddy!

Hands off the cocktail, Daddy!

Pony Excess

2013-08-03T20:00:00.000-07:00

Today I went to an orchard for a peach festival.

I fed some animals,

That goose bit me.

rode on a choo choo train,

I'm near the caboose.

ran around like a maniac on the playground,

I'm in there somewhere.

drove a bulldozer,

Move out the way!

and had a whole lot of fun, blah blah blah...but let's get to the really good part:

I rode on a pony!!!

I'm on a pony!

Twice!!

Oh, yeah, I also got a bag of peaches and a peach pie.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

2013-07-30T20:00:00.000-07:00

Do you realize that I started this baby blog one year ago today for your birthday, Daddy?!? My blog is one year old!! How old are you?

Last year I made you a very special card. This year, I will sing for you. While eating an ice cream cone outside. And dancing. Enjoy!

That ice cream was really good!

Love you, Daddy!

Super Sadie Serum

2013-07-26T20:00:00.000-07:00

Check out what I found in my closet today:

My Captain America jacket!

This is the best jacket ever!

It comes with a built-in mask!

THIS IS THE BEST JACKET EVER!

Let me get a closer look...

Still the best jacket ever.

Check me out!

I'm wearing the best jacket ever!

Oh, wait, I forgot to zip it.

Zipping the best jacket ever.

Well, well, well. You're back to play, eh? Are you sure you're up for the challenge?? Well, if you insist...

Let's play! I'll hide.

Where am I?

You'll need a map to find me!

I'm right here under this giant pamphlet all about the Mighty Sequoia!

You fools!

Looks like I win yet again. You guys really need to step up your game.

Weekend at Grandma's

2013-07-21T20:00:00.000-07:00

So I spent the weekend at Grandma's house. Just me and Gma and Lily. Mama left her camera and told Grandma to take lots of photos.

This is the only photo that Mama found on the camera.

I am not at liberty to discuss the circumstances of the photo.

*Note from Mama: I have so many questions.

All Aboard the Choo Choo Train

2013-07-19T20:00:00.000-07:00

Do you know that I love choo choo trains? I do! And today I rode on one!! According to Mama, this one is called the Lirr. I was so excited!!

Then I got on the train.

What was that?

Who's that?

What have I gotten myself into??

Maybe I overestimated this whole "choo choo" thing. There sure were a lot of noises and goings-on around me.

Then we started moving, and when we finally came out from underground I was able to look out the window.

We're moving so fast!

And then...

Wow!

the train tooted it's horn!

Trip/day/week made.

After the train ride, I went to Grandma's house. Lily was very excited to see me and we sat on a chair together for three seconds.

The black blur is Lily.

Then I went in a pool with a dinosaur:

I bet you didn't swim with a dinosaur today.

Xmas in July

2013-07-17T20:00:00.000-07:00

Today Mama wrapped up the coffee table and gave it to me as a present to color on!

I'm so artsy.

Cream and Sugar

2013-07-07T20:00:00.000-07:00

So it's the morning of the last day of our family get-together and we're all gathered at this place called Ihop having breakfast. Of course I immediately go for the little cups of coffee creamers because 1) they're just my size, 2) it's creamy deliciousness, and 3) this is exactly something my Uncle Barry used to do, so evidently it's genetic.

It's creamy deliciousness!

BUT, this is how Sadie Goose mixes things up:

Notice how I realize I've made a terrible mistake at the 18-second mark.

Family Fair

2013-07-06T20:00:00.000-07:00

Today I got together with lots of family and had a big party! I had a great time seeing everybody but even more fun doing lots of STUFF!

Like jumping on a trampoline with my cousin Katy and Uncle Bissy:

We're up in the air!

And riding on a zip line:

I'm just reassuring Daddy that everything is OK.

I met a new doggie:

I love dogs!

And I climbed into this giant red thingy:

What the heck is this??

Then I moved into my new house:

It's just my size!
