This bag is easy to make and I use a simple pattern with one row repeat that even the beginner can do. it's small, almost like a purse size but it's wider, you can add your small wallet, your car key, cards, and phone there. I played with neon colors since I love bright and playful colors.

Isn't it weird that I post my singing here?😁 but pleasee.... don't be. Since I decided that I would make this blog as my personal space that will become my freedom to share everything that I'm interested into, so be prepare by those random things that often comes from this blog that got nothing to do with crocheting.

Singing is one of many many hobbies that I have. Like you probably notice in the video, I'm not a professional singer. I mostly sang loudly in the bathroom, I don't go to karaoke too. my audience are usually my kids and my hubby, and they suggested me that I should share this on YouTube just to make my life more colorful, and so my mic wont go to waste too.

Let me tell you the truth. I have a habit. whenever I get so bored, I take my own picture. I thought this habit was going to disappear after I get older, but no... it just become less intense.

so what this post is all about aside from wild flower that I made as photo prop?

well, I wore big earring that I wont even dare to wear in public. it just for photo.

what else?

Oh! that big earring is actually a bracelet. I've seen many hijabers did this kind of things but they use REAL earring instead and they look fabulous.

I was unprepared. I picked my knitted sweater randomly and when I wore it, I remembered it was hanging for days, I haven't wash it yet but I didn't care, it just for photo. I also picked black pashmina because black means safe!

Yay to Myself for always stay inside the safe Zone.

VIDEO : HOW TO MAKE YOUR AMIGURUMI DOLL STAND IN PICTURE

I get asked pretty often about how i make my amigurumi doll stand in picture. It's actually pretty easy and simple, you just need to find the balance.

If you have a bigger doll, you also need a bigger stick like barbeque stick that is longer and remember, always make sure that the stick you use is thin enough to stab inside your doll so it won't damaged your doll. Also, I don't recommend you to do this trick outdoor since its quite hard to find the balance so that's why it also prone to fall. You don't want to make your doll dirty of course.

First of all, kudos to all crochet gurus on Youtube for the hard work they put their long process of work into a well explained short videos. since this is my first video tutorial, i feel that its indeed HARD! the camera angle, the lights, and also TIME and dedication!

as a person who used to work without a detailed first plan; always work and think as you go, also as a mother who always have kids screaming in the back of my head (it ruined the audio n mood😓) I found that making a video was a bit hard. but let's share that struggle later so we can learn together.

This bag is for my sister. She didn't told me a specific preference, she just basically wanted a bag made by me, and that's good, I had a total freedom to choose colors, size, type of bag, etc.

my sister is a very active person, she rode motorcycle everywhere and met her friends a lot, she need something comfy. at first I thought about shoulder bag, but in the middle of the work, my mind suddenly changed, I made backpack instead.

I use embossed star stitch. gosh! I love this beautiful stitch. it has rich texture and just look so pretty. in the top side of the bag, I changed the color to dark grey, and stitch to forest stitch. the forest stitch is no much different than single crochet, its easy to work and very dense, it can hold the strap strongly.

❥ leather for the base, cover, n strap ( i made it all myself; bought a leather and cut it, glued it, sew, and put some accessories there) should i make a tutorial for this?

things I didn't mention in the video:

❥ the holes in the leather base was supposed to have 1cm wide between holes but I just made 0.5cm in the curvy sides. the reason is because I used to have problem there; I still lack of instinct to feel whether my stitches would be enough or not, so it wont get narrowed when i work in the next row.

❥ the stitches is supposed to be multiple 3 but i cheat there. when I work HDC in the round 1, I made 1 increase in random area to make it right as multiple 3.

❥ I work a seamless join, which i show you how in the video.

❥ i use fuji mirrorless camera and i dont know whether it's because of the camera or my memory card was too low, it always stopped in the middle.

i realize that this video is still lacking of so much things, so i'm sorry in advance for all the shortcomings I've made in the video. i hope you still can enjoy the video and learn one thing or two.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

My first thought when I woke up in the morning and read the first text who congratulate my birthday was, "oh no. today i'm getting closer to 40!" the reality just hit me hard. Am I that shameless to think that I'm still on my 20s? still, getting older is not that bad, it just wrinkle and sagging skin, but on the inner side, i'm quite proud of it.

37 years are long enough to make me realize that age is just a number, it don't define maturity. but yes... most human learn from their own experiences so that's why.... the more experience you have, the older you get, the bigger chances you transform yourself into a more matured-minded person. but not all them, i've seen an old person who never learn so that's why they never changed.

I cant believe that more than 30 years has passed from being alive in this world, safe and healthy, that's what am most grateful about so far. but let's back to the past just to see what I did on my 36 years old moments aside from breathing and forcing myself to stay at home because of pandemic.

I have this sort of hobby and it began not long after pandemic. my first plant was devil's ivy and since then I began to collect more plants. this Hobby is so relaxing, that's why I love it.

of course I have my own struggle. the older you get, the bigger problem you have, but the stronger you are. I'm no longer a spoiled girl who cried over a broken phone or get pissed because of the slow internet. i'm no longer a girl who spent money only to filled her closet with her own attire. i'm now turn into a women who always put so much thoughts on everything, about the consequences, always think ahead, and not being reckless.

my wish; I want to see my kids grow and see them happy. I also want to see my parents live well for as long as possible. i also want to see my hubby getting much healthier.

TO THE BEACH

Hana has never been to a beach before. it's her first time. living in a small village surrounded by the green mountains means that we have to take a quite long hours journey to come here, and since pandemic happening so we never had a plan to come here anyway.

when was the last time I came here? i forgot. but I remember it was way before 2019, a time where people still walked freely without mask on their face, covid wasn't even born yet.

at that time this place was always so crowded, we even had to booked the hotel a day before we check in, the fish market were filled with people, and cafes were always packed. now this place was so quiet, only few people came here with a mask on their face to enjoy view.why we came here anyway? well, it was all unplanned. my sister had to give assignment to her professor and it was like a very quick assignment and we felt like it was such a waste if we back home at that moment, and so we suddenly decided to drove further and arrived at this place. And hana was like, "mom! what is that?" while pointed her small finger to the sea, it was such a bliss when i look at how happy she was.

"i want to play sand!" said hana when we changed our clothes. she didnt want to swim but we brought her to swim anyway and she was seriously fearless it frighten me. she kept asking me to brought him to further to the big wave, and i was like "no babe, i can't."

anyway, this time I'm going to share the pattern of this cute dog. I recently read BL manga called lucky coin, it seriously a good read, and the MC called his loved one as Doggo, so I use that name for this doll since it's cute, it sound very.... doggy.😄

I use 3mm crochet hooks, it's the biggest doll that i've made so far, 36cm. Even though this pattern is only for body, but don't worry... i'm going to make a separate post for the clothes.

I FINALLY BOUGHT WHAT I AND MY KIDS WANT

Two weeks ago, I got my salary, and my kids asked me to buy their needs. Spiderman bag for noah, and barbie bag for Hana. Jeans for Noah, and Jeans for Hana. Hat for Noah, and hat for Hana. and then Noah got furious because Hana always wanted the same thing as he is.

and so that day, we went shopping (online of course), and I let them picked what they like. and let me tell you, they love every item they saw! they kept changing their interest in seconds! and because of that reason, I had to ignore my wishy washy kids by clicked the checkout button and bought the one that he wanted the most, the Spiderman!

after I have kids, I realized that my needs always come second after them. If I have less money, I never bought anything for myself, family always come first. But after I started to work (you know those long hours of tiredness), I also want to treat myself with something:

1. for my skin-- I bought Scarlet Brightly ever after that has vitamin C and Niacinamide on it. While it's true that it has brightening effect but my skin felt drier.

2. for dolling your face-- maybeline push up drama mascara. My absolute fave!

3. for my feet-- PVN sock sneakers (extremely light to wear)

4. for my appearance-- bought this flare trouser and oversized flannel shirt.

anyway, out of topic, but do you realize that it's already October? it's crazy that it almost the end of the year. this whole thing with pandemic really affect out lives. I hope you safe and don't forget to wear mask!

inspired by the cute, polite, and harmless huge white robot in 'BIG HERO' animation movie, this little amigurumi was created. though it's not the robot like in the movie, but I basically made the doll from that concept. white n chubby.

YELLOW GUM2

"why in the world you named this bag as yellow gumgum and not dumdum?" said the curious Noah, even though he doesn't know what's the actual meaning of dumdum. he probably heard this funny words from the living wall statue who talked to Ben Stiller at night at the museum.

Well if I have to say, there's a reason why I named this gumgum and not dumdum, and of course it's because:

1. dumdum sound like dumbdumb, means stupidstupid, and this bag isn't stupid because it has no brain.

2. I named gumgum because this bag is a part of saebo's 'candy crush' bag series, means that I took all the bag names of this series from candies. this bright yellow totebag colour is like bubblegum, so I named gumgum. logical, right? hehe

3. I always picked the cute but weird names, that's my basic character. weird doesn't always mean bad, it's mostly unique.

ok. so lets talk about this bag and what makes it so special.

first of all, look at the stitch. I made it from loop stitch which usually used for rug and doormats, but bag is also darn fine. it look like fur/fringe since it has that yarn sticking outside, and when you touch the bag, it feels like you touch a fluffy persian cat, though, of course, it's not that soft.

I use nylon for this bag, it's strong and sturdy, and plastic canvas for the base so the bag wouldn't stretch so much. I kinda hate the stretchy bag especially at the bottom side. And FYI, I actually have several ways to get around this problem but let's talk about this later in different post.

The handle was a bit tricky to make. I use thick ropes which I wrapped with transparent masking tape to make it more sturdy. Then I crocheted around and sew it to the bag. it's not perfect since it my first attempt to make the handle, but it still look fine.

I thought this bag is only for me to stare at, but when my friend saw this bag, she forced me to sell it to her. so I happily say that this bag has already have a new home to stay at and not in my closet anymore. but somehow, I also feel a bit sad since my times with this bag was kinda too short.

BLUE LOLLYPOP CLUTCH

A not-so-Minimal bag is what came to mind when I first saw the finishing of this clutch. It's very simple, yet, the bold color of the blue will definitely catch someone else's eyes.

Minimalism is always identified with earthy and nude colors because they are just simple and neutral, and also don’t catch attention as much as bright colors. It’s like wearing a ‘no makeup makeup’; it look very natural, but yet very charming and attractive.

As a maximalist who find minimalism is also very charming, I create something with a mixture of this opposite things. The basic design of this clutch was simple and very minimal but since I’m a maximalist at heart (always attracted to colors and accessories), simple is just never enough for me). So I decided to use bold color for this simple design.

After I finished the bag, I made it stand on the table so I could look from afar and critized my own work.

And you know what?

It’s hard.

Minimalist design is just not for me. The bag look too quiet and lonely, I had to make some accessories to make it more soulful and lively.

Also, the TEXTURE!

I love everything textured! So I made this bag with a nice and thick texture in mind. I made this bag with two yarn at a same time. It’s thicker, and of course… quicker!

SWEET PURPLE BACKPACK

I still remember when I decided to sells my own doll, people who are close to me said that it's not a good idea. Handmade toys aren't popular here in Indonesia, so it wont benefit me financially. Also, because i own fashion blog (which i don't take interest anymore) so they suggest me to sells clothes instead. But I ignored what they said because I love to make doll and money isn't my main goal.

My first reason to sell my own doll is that so the doll wont be piled up in the toys box. After i finished one doll, i usually go to the next doll, and the result of this habit is that i have so many doll that even the huge box wont be enough to store them.

Second reason is, of course, money. But it doesn't have to be a lot! I just wish that my doll will be enough to buy me more yarn and supplies so I can make another doll. Simple as it is.

Third reason is that I want to try something new, selling something that I create from my own hands, building a brand for fun, and curious to know how it will grow. Fail is on my mind, but since I didn't invest a lot of money so i believe that there wont be any regret.

After I sell it online, I get a pretty good response and the feeling when i get positive feedback from my customer is just so priceless, it's like I'm a little kid that just get praised by her mom, it made me extremely happy.

First, I didn't know that making something that make someone else happy is also a source of happiness. It started with a joy and love, and it ends with happiness and self-satisfactory.

Do what you love, and love what you do is an important asset that will lead you into the unknown world you had never been into before. Business is actually hard, but it become easy because you simply love it.

I had watermelon inside my head when I designed this doll. Red with a touch of green, and black as seeds. I was so sure that it is watermelon, but In the middle of the process, my son looked into my doll and said "mom, is that strawberry?", I was like "no no no, it's not!" I insisted that it's watermelon but he kept telling me that it's strawberry. So here I decide to name it waterberry. Can't argue with you more, son.

Inspired by a bunch of cute watermelon pouch (not strawberry) i found on pinterest, this doll was created. I worked on the bottom first, then body, head, and then arms. I put a lot time designed how her hair should be. At first I tied in the back with a little front hair fall to the both side of the cheek but it look messy. Then after i decide that i would make it simple with big bun, I got pretty confused with hair accessories. Should it be leaf headband? Or twisted turban? or just a simple headpiece with flower. I actually made all of them and tried it one by one to see how it looks, and i like the leaf with flower headpiece the best.

I actually made watermelon bag so people would notice that it's watermelon girl, haha. But whenever I look at it, it just too crowded. So i decide to make the bag as an accessory.

I had a super enjoyable time when i made this doll. I spent two days, working day and night, stealing time when my little girl was sleeping.

This doll will be available to purchase on moselo and shopee but after I finished another doll.

I have a cat. her name is Milly, and she really really active. she loves to lick my finger, gave me massage, and always always wanted to play and if I refuse, she climb onto my body.

Anyway, this pattern is far away from how milly looks, but since i love cat, so my fisrt pattern should be a cat.

Milk cotton yarn in white, navy green, and yellow.
5/0 or 3mm crochet hook (depending on your yarn weight,) I use tulip etimo.
Embordier yarn in black
Yarn needle
Fiberfill for stuffing
Safety eyes

start with 11 ch, stuff as you go.
Rnd 1. INC, 8 sc, 4sc in one stitch, 8sc, INC (24)
Rnd 2. 2 INC, 8sc, INC, 1sc, 2INC, 8sc, INC, 1sc (30)
Rnd 3. 1sc, 2INC, 9sc, INC, 1sc, INC, 1sc, INC, 11sc, INC, 1sc (36)

--- place the safety eyes in between 11th and 12th round of the head, and the distance between eyes should be 9stitch---

divide the legs by identify the center space,
and each leg identifies the other by 18.(Use stitch markers to help.) Here picture below to help you to understand.

Using a yarn needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each remaining st
and pull tight to close.

Rejoin the Navy yarn to unworked st of Rnd 36 leaving a long tail for sewing the hole between the leg. This sc is the first st for the second leg. Continue working the second leg the same way as the first leg.

Using a yarn needle, sew the hole between the legs.

DIY : FABRIC BOW TIE FOR YOUR DOLL

A really really simple and fast way to make a bow tie for your doll is by using fabric. Not only that fabric has various print that crochet yarn dont have, like cute dotted fabric or floral, but it also make your amigurumi cuter with texture mixing.

to make this you need: fabric, scissor, and yarn.

First, cut the yarn and fold like in the picture. And then wrap yarn and knot it in the back. For application, you need needle and then sew it on your doll neck.

Done! easy right?

Here's I made video reviewing amigurumi I made from crochet confetti pattern. i made a mistake in the video, its made from 3 different kind of yarn not 4. also, the yarn of the dress has different weight,so I crochetting two yarn together.

it's bigger than other dolls I've made so far, it also cute I just love it.

Back when I was in college, I remember I saw my sister crocheting wallet in the living room and I thought she was really amazing. But I have no memories of wanting to learn more about it.

It was in 2018 when I had this strong will to learn crochet. I remember, that time I started to fall in love with numerous brigty-colored and cute rugs and dolls that were all over pinterest when I searched about kids bedroom decor. Since then, i took my first hook and yarn, spent many hours reading blog and watching a bunch video tutorial on youtube. Since then there was no stopping me! It become absolute passion and the most enjoyable thing to do at home.

I still have so much to learn and it leads to so much goals. But for now, in appreciation to the amazing amigurumi designers, let me show you some of my favourite works taken from my favourite designers's pattern.
