The first thing you should consider when starting your blog is, how do you intend to monetize your blog? There are at least three effective ways to earn from having a blog or even several blogs.Some of the more successful affiliate bloggers have as many as fifty to one hundred blogs running at the same time. This of course takes some time to develop, but it is being done effectively by using a variety of automated software.

First you can write good informative content which provides useful information to your readers. Choose a niche which you have in-depth knowledge and fill your bog with regular posts. These posts should be content rich and service oriented. If your content is strong and if you spend enough time posting, on a regular basis, you will attract paid advertisers who will be willing to pay good money for your advertising real-estate. When you have enough content you can put yourself in a position to actually go out and market your blog to advertisers in your niche.

The second method is to write good content about a specific targeted niche and then set up a Google Adsense account for your blog. Your next step is to use every method possible to drive as much traffic to your blog with the hopes that they will click on the ads which Google has placed on your blog. This will start generating some Adsense revenue from Google. Once you have mastered this method it will be easy for you to repeat the process in additional niches. You will start building multiple streams of income from your blogs through your Adsense accounts.

Now getting to the third method which I find to be the most lucrative. Choose your favorite niche and write some good content while posting at least 2 or 3 times a week. Include references to some affiliate products in your posts while hyper linking your affiliate link to the products in the text of your post. You can do this through casual conversation or by reviewing the affiliate products in your posts. Now write a few articles related to these niche products and start driving traffic to your blog. If you have set your system up properly you should see some sales because the traffic you are generating from your articles is already interested in your niche prior to visiting your blog.

Why I prefer to use Word Press as my primary blogging platform. In my opinion Word Press has a wider and more versatile variety of templates available than the other 2 mentioned platforms. Word Press themes can be easily changed and customized with the least amount of effort. If you are serious about your blog looking more professional and being able to be fully customizable there are some excellent new templates available designed specifically for affiliate marketing and product reviews. You can not go wrong with a Word Press Blog if you are looking for a very specific and professional look. It is getting easier to make money online with niche blogs and the new affiliate-themes for Word Press.

The following four methods are the most effective ways to advertise and drive traffic to your Internet marketing home based business.

1. Pay per click or PPC advertising as it is referred to is the most effective form of paid advertising. Using a pay per click can be effective for most Internet businesses. Most of the major search engines have some form of PPC system. Google and Google Adwords is the most widely used but MSN and Yahoo both have good PPC programs.

However, Google is still the leading pay per click company in the world and deliver more exposure for your ads. To play it safe do not ignore other search engines such as Yahoo, or MSN who might be able to deliver you visitors for a lesser cost per click..

2. Establishing your key word list: When using PPC be sure to use keyword phrases and not just single keywords in your keyword list. Long tailed key words or keyword phrases are phrases that contain 3 or more words in the phrase. These phrases are a more targeted, or more specific phrase, and will usually provide you with a higher quality visitor. People who type in more specific terms, when searching, are more likely to be potential buyers.

3. How to successfully market your home based Internet business using your key word list. Your keyword list can provide you with excellent free traffic too. One way you can expand your marketing efforts is to use your targeted keyword phrases and use them in your blog posts and articles. A blog is a great way to drive visitors to your website and ad new content on a regular basis. The search engines are constantly spidering the Internet looking for new content. The more new content you provide, the higher the search engines will rank you site. This is a great way to get free organic traffic.

Practice using your keywords in your Blog and article titles, body and as anchor text at the end of your posts. Along with this I also recommend you incorporate various forms of social media including video, audio, graphics, an RSS feed on your blog to make it more interesting and user friendly.

4. One of the most effective forms of long term traffic generation is article marketing. Using articles to drive traffic to your website is an excellent way to get free, high quality, traffic. Do not overlook the power of a well written article. A well written article can go viral and be reprinted on hundreds if not thousands of article directories and blogs.

If you do not enjoy writing you can always outsource your article writing to quality writers. You can even automate the submission process through software or online article submission services. Whatever methods you choose, be sure to stay consistent. Commit yourself to submitting at least a couple of articles a week and watch your free traffic increase. Article marketing is a great long term strategy. It should definitely be a major part of how you successfully market your home based Internet business.

The reason most people fail as affiliate marketers and work at home business opportunity seekers can be easily explained by failure to do all, or even one, of the following.

1. Refusal to invest in your business or education.

I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have heard the excuse, I can’t afford to spend any money on advertising, or I don’t want to buy any of those ebooks or training programs….

Listen! If you aren’t ready to invest in your business, you’re not going to have a business.

I’t’s that simple. The question should be where is the best place to invest in my business? Where am I going to get the best value for the money I invest?

We all know their are thousands of programs promising to make you the next internet millionaire. Most of them are a bunch of crap. They only give you bits and pieces of outdated information. In fact if you have been seriously studying the information I have been giving you, you already know more that 80 % of the people struggling to succeed with their work at home business.

The good news is; I’m not going to give you a bunch of B.S. and sugar coat the rest of this course. I’m going to be right up front with you. I will be recommending you invest a little money, further your education, and position yourself, to get a very good return on your investment.

2. Starting with the wrong niche:

Choosing the right niche or niche product is critical. Your niche should be filled with valuable prospects looking to purchase products in your chosen niche. Marketing to an unprofitable niche is pointless. One of the best investment I’ve made is a product that taught me to “work smarter not harder”.

3. Starting with the wrong products: Or picking the wrong offers:

Just as bad as picking the wrong niche is picking the wrong products. Sure, a product may be in your niche…but will it sell? How does the sales letter look? Do you believe in what the product is promoting? If you don’t have a positive reponse to these questions, pick another product. 5. Not testing and tracking your efforts:

Testing out different approaches and tracking your results is very important in your long term success. Become familiar with using Google Analytics and other tracking programs. This will help you see how efficiently your offers and efforts are working. If your affiliate links aren’t working, or people aren’t spending enough time on your site to it’s time to tweek your campaign and try a different approach.

6. Not building a list:

Never send anyone to you sales page without capturing their information. But smart affiliates know that they can capture these names and sell to them later down the road. Building a long term profitable affiliate business is only possible if you can build a list of prospects for future products.

7. Promoting just one product:

You can miss out on additional sales if you stick to just one product. When you pick a niche, you should look for one that has the potential for several different products. You can market them to your list and keep their interest by promoting many different products in the same niche.

8. Quiting to soon:

Finding and building the right “work at home business opportunity” takes time. If you try it for a month or two and then decide it isn’t working, you’re quiting too soon. Content is king. It gets to wear the crown. And sit on
the throne. And rule the world. When it comes to
establishing credibility, gaining trust and producing
sales, content is royalty.

While I would never suggest abandoning the concept of
delivering high quality content to your subscribers, there
is another type of list composed of subscribers who couldn’t
care less about content.

“What is this type of list?” you ask.

- > The “announcement list”.

I’ve been teaching about the “announcement” list since
at least 2002 (on record at an event). And, yet, it’s a
widely untapped asset in most email marketing circles.

The main reason is: nobody’s teaching it. And so,
nobody knows anything about it, let alone how to effectively
create one of these lists.

So, we’re going to revisit it.

What Is An “Announcement” List?

DEFINED: An announcement list is a list whose sole purpose
is to “announce” (I.E. Inform, notify) when something new
is available for review, consumption or purchase.

In other words, it unapologetically says, “Hey, I just
released XYZ. Come check it out!”

Now, at first glance you may be thinking, “Who would join a
list that offers no content and only sales pitch?”

If you say it that way, it doesn’t sound too good to me
either! That’s why you don’t say it that way. Let’s take
a look at HOW to “say it”…

you’ll find a textbook example of this concept. PLRSO
stands for “Private Label Rights Special Offers” I
established this list for the sole purpose of informing
people anytime I have a new PLR offer available for them to buy.

That’s it.

I don’t send out ezine articles to them. No newsletters.
They don’t get blog posts. There aren’t any special reports.
No content of any kind. What they get, in essence, are
sales messages.

And there are already 2,822 subscribers, many of which
have already purchased some of the PLR special offers that
have been “announced” to the list.

Why does it work? Let me give you plenty of reasons…

1. I took something that was “in-demand” (PLR) and I allow

upcoming new product release by building a pre-launch
list several weeks (even months) in advance.

* Ezine Publishers List. Build a list of publishers who
want to know any time you have a new ezine article
that is available for reprint in their ezines.

* Bloggers List. Another idea is to allow bloggers who
are looking for ready-made content to post to their blogs.

* Industry News List. How about becoming the “go to”
guy or gal to share breaking news about your industry?

* Joint Venture List. Develop a list of partners and
affiliates who are ready to promote anytime you have a
new offer.

* Incentives List. Here’s a great idea – create a list of
people who you offer “incentives” to when they purchase
someone else’s new product through YOUR affiliate link.
