Assistance for South African production in Australia

It gives us great pleasure to introduce to you the New South African Stage and Concert Production called “Rooiwarm” with Afrikaans Singer and Performer, Andries Hendrik Potgieter, Legendary Actress Marga van Rooy and Legendary Actor Eric Nobbs as the main players, running from January 2012 within our own country’s borders, as well as overseas.

The reason for approaching you is to kindly request your assistance in securing a tour of set performances to take place in Australia’s main cities including Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. This is from July 2012 till December 2012 for approximately about an week and half, or for as many performances as we can organize between ourselves. The time span for performances are open for discussion between all relevant parties.

Andries Hendrik Potgieter will be touring America without the production from the 20^th of June till the 4^th of July.

GENERAL OVERVIEW - FAK "Rooiwarm" Stage Production Concert 2012.

Andries Hendrik Potgieter and Veteran Actors, Marga van Rooy and Eric Nobbs, have teamed up for a spectacular FAK stage production that will run from February 2012.

They will visit the Platteland, Theatres, Festivals all over south Africa, and will also Tour Overseas to Australia, Netherlands and New Zeland from June till August 2012.

In October 2011, the FAK and Andries-Hendrik Potgieter released an album – ROOIWARM – which is a combination of the old traditional Afrikaans songs such as Sarie Marais, Die Alibama and Bobbejaan klim die berg.

However, the songs have been revamped so as to attract the younger generation while not scaring off the older generations. The production of the songs was done by Dirk van Niekerk from Noted Music and who is well-known in the industry. The album is being distributed by Select in more than 400 stores nationwide, while Next Music is making it available on a digital basis on sites such as i-Tunes, Amazon and The Orchard.

Andries-Hendrik is performing around the country and soon in America, Australia, New Zeeland and Netherlands to introduce the Communities once again to the Afrikaans culture and music.

However, a big FAK production is another tool that he wants to use to enhance this process.

The production will combine singing, dancing and acting – all in the True Traditional Afrikaans way, but modernized.

South Africans are looking for shows and productions that are unique and not just another performance.

The FAK production will find resonance with both young and old. It will bring families and communities together, uniting around a common element namely, culture.

The Business Growth Centre is an initiative of the state government
to assist existing small business owners to remain competitive in a
changing economy.

The Migrant Business Matters program is one-on-one mentoring for
businesses that have been established in Western Australia by
migrants. The mentoring will occur in the business owner’s

In January 2011 we held a focus group with businesses to assess
their current challenges. The feedback received from the focus

Soaring vocals, powerful drumming and groovy rhythms are the vital ingredients of dazzling African music trio Afrique Acoustic, who perform at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre on Saturday 22 October at 8pm.

Come and join the Afrique Acoustic caravan on its journey from South Africa, through Madagascar to Senegal, West Africa and then onto the musical landscapes of North Africa and the Middle East.

This entertaining and virtuosic trio features award-winning Senegalese singer, kora/harp-lute player and percussionist extraordinaire Ziggi Bey Jan, prodigious Zimbabwean guitarist Ilan Zagoria and superb West Australian bassist Brent Purser.

Ziggi Bey Jan has toured internationally for 10 years in the Baaba Maal band as a drummer, dancer and choreographer. After settling in Perth he founded Afrique Acoustic, a trio that keeps exploring new terrains and whose first gig was as support for South African legend Ladysmith Black Mambazo at the Perth Concert Hall. He has since relocated to Adelaide and has returned for special performances in Perth.

Ilan Zagoria's intricate and driving music has many influences including the rhythms of his Zimbabwe homeland to the music of Madagascar, Cape Town, the Middle East, Paris and WA. Along with his Afrique Acoustic history, he is a founding member of Sundiata Marimba Band and was a member of African Music Congress.

Australian born Brent Purser is well known in the local World Music scene for his exceptionally creative and sensitive bass playing.
