Valentine's Day is soon arriving... and my kids are excited to start decorating for the 'love" themed holiday. So, I went through all of my boxes of holiday decor and found... what?? Only two Valentine items? Hmmm.... what to do. I went to Pinterest to find some inspiration, and I'm SO excited to try a few of these out.

I love the idea of this the most.. what a simple and easy way to add decor to your home? I have oodles of unused frames laying around that I can easily create a new Valentine version.

If anyone is like my house, your kids probably have a chalkboard or dry erase board in the house. Ours is usually blank most of the time, unless the kids are paying with them. But what a fun and quick idea to add a little LOVE to a space.

Wait till you see this one... WOW!! How fun would this be?
I love this Valentine inspirephoto collage, it probably could stay up all year too!

Here is a cool idea of taking sheets of paper from old books, clipping hearts from them, and then sewing them together on a strand. I love how simple it is. Such a classic look, yet, I LOVE that pop of color. And look, they used fun washi tape to hold it up on the wall.

LOVE!! I MUST do this. I don't have these apothocary jars, but I know I have simple glass containers laying around. I think it can still acheive the same overall look.

Up for a craft project? This looks so cute, and so easy! AND... the best part is, I think I have all of these items laying around the house. Jar, felt or fabric, doilies, and string. CHECK

Here is another simple and easy printable project you can do and stick in a frame.

Hello everyone, Happy Friday! Some of you know that I live in wintery Minnesota. Part of living in a northern state is being accustomed to long winters, being buried in feet of snow for months upon months and trudging through winter until at least April. Last year, we received 47 inches of snow, in December alone. But, this year has been extremely different... for the first time since I can remember, we have had little, to NO snow. Its been brown and dry all winter. I guess I didn't realize how much I do appreciate the beauty of winter. I'm used to my annual trend of whining and complaining about it. AND, to my delight, for the first time in over a month, we received a nice fluffy covering of snow yesterday... I can't stop glancing outside my office window at the blanket of white. How perfect for my releases today, for capturing those memories of little girls, project life or those wonderful winter times.

My Scrapbooking Stats & TOP 10 Layouts of 2011

There is a really great thread that started over at the LilyPad focusing and reflecting on our scrapbooking stats for this past year. Also, it mentioned to pick your TOP 10 Layouts for 2011. Doesn't that sound like fun? A great way to cap off the year, and start off anew. So I thought I would join in.

I counted up my finished layouts, and my books I've had printed for this year.

Completed Layouts: 170 Layouts
Printed Books: (3) from 2008
Created & Printed a Blurb Designed Book: from our 2011 Cruise

My TOP 10 Layouts of 2011:

I am so happy with how much I was able to accomplish this year. But... I am even more determined to be to complete more in this 2012 year. To do this I have to accept that I can't always focus on the page being the best, or gallery standout worthy. I need to try and complete more projects, and family alblums so that I am able to print them off into book and have them for sharing with my family.

Well it's a NEW year. Time for fresh starts, new projects, setting goals... and I know a few of you have set some goals for scrapbooking as well. Maybe in a form of Project LIFE, 365 or 52, perhaps it is just obtaining a goal to set scrapping time aside to be sure you are recording memories. This month at the LilyPad, we took a different approach to Our BYOC (Build Your Own Collab) that happens every month. We chose to focus on "These Are the Days", and created products to help you achieve your goals with telling your stories.

Check out what I have new today. We've all been guilty of it at one time or another: we design a beautiful page, chock full of gorgeous papers, layering, and shadows, only to realize at the end that we forgot the most important part- the story! With all of the beautiful options for creative design, it can be hard to find a room on your page for something as "boring" as journaling, but with these classy titles and journaling blocks, you'll be sure to place your story front and center! And don't be shy about using them for other things- these titles are perfect for layering an recolors, and the journaling blocks make great frames too!

I have been relishing in my kiddos and family the past few weeks. Having them at home has been such a delight. We've been doing so much baking... cookies, cakes, gingerbread house, caramel puffcorn, toffee bars, strawberry santas, and well alot. I'm sure my waistline will not be thanking me in a few weeks, but my heart is just filled with pure joy. We've also been doing crafts, cooking, playing games and enjoying each other... I love the simple joy of just spending time with them.

But that's made me a terrible blogger over the past few weeks.

Happy Friday everyone!! I am really excited that today is Friday! I am planning a fun-filled family weekend! We are going to do a city lights trolley tour, build a gingerbread house (which my kids are ecstatic about) and a sleigh ride... how fun is that?!? Happy Friday all! I am SO excited today..... not only do I have some new AMAZING things to show you... but the new "Twilight - Breaking Dawn" movie is out today. I have been waiting FOREVER for this. Yes... I am an obsessive Twilight fan (no judgement please). But I have a big "girls weekend" planned with my best friend and sister. We are going to do our own mini-Twilight fest and watch all of the older movies, and then heading out to the theaters to see the new one. Any of you making it out to the theater to see?

I have a FABULOUS new collection to release today!! I often receive emails with requests that people would like to see created.... One request that I get most frequently is for me to create goodies for fans to use for sports memories. So I got started on this. I dug out some of my personal photos to draw inspiration from and got busy. The "sports" collection is going to start with "football". I created this with with vintage ephemera and more of a neutral color scheme so you can easily add your team's colors. I hope you love it just as much as I do.
