Создание формы - этап второй!

Продолжаю рассказ о постройке яхты и вот - свежие новости.

Второй этап сегодня - это поклейка первого слоя стекловолокна. Я наверное стал ленивым и потому выставляю видео сразу.

Вобщем мы оставили этот слой застывать до завтра и пока у нас освободилось немного времени на мелкие детали. Покрыли воском боковые крыжки, задний рундук, заднюю крыжку и панель рулевой колонки, после чего нанесли разделитель и покрыли слоем краски. Зашлифовали и почти подготовили рулевую колонку, дверцу и рамку дверей к нанесению воска.

Создание формы - этап первый!

Ну что же, начнем подгатавливать модель к поклейке формы.

На первом этапе выставлю несколько видео, думаю проще и интереснее один раз увидеть, чем 10 раз прочитать и услышать.

Для начала - видео о нанесении воска на полированную модель.

Следующий шаг - нанесения разделителя.

И последний шаг, который я отнесу к первому этапу - нанесение краски.

Это первый этап вкратце. Я думаю у Вас возникнет немало вопросов, спрашивайте и я буду рад ответить. К сожелению, пока не хватает времени, чтобы вплотную заняться сайтом и статьями, обещаю в июне полноценный сайт и много новостей.

Спешу сообщить, что несмотря на наше отсутствие тут, работа идёт полным ходом!

Апрель месяц мы шпаклевали и шлифовали, принимали интересных гостей, о которых в рубрике "В Гостях".
Если вам интересен подробный отчет по поводу шлифовки и шпаклевки - пишите письма. В кратце я уже описал этот процесс в одной из статей.

Да, это заняло месяц и еще чуть чуть, самая важная работа на данном этапе!

Рад приветствовать вас в прекрасный, майский день! Довольно много материала накопилось, сегодня выставляю несколько видео с подрубрикой "В Гостях".

Интересные люди у нас побывали в последнее время, много вопросов, комментариев и мнений, а также впечатлений.

В этом видео знатоки яхтенного дела - Сергей Огарков и Виктор Буторин. Они принимают участие - занимаются проектом и чертежами яхты "Maria". Очень интересные и эрудированные люди.

На момент их визита нас беспокоили несколько вопросов, к примеру - какой длины будет гик и на какой высоте он будет находиться.

Нанесение жидкой шпаклёвки

Привет всем!

Надеюсь у вас отличные выходные, супер настроение и любовь к яхтингу не ослабла, а только закрепила свои позиции, ведь скоро открытие сезона (не знаю как в Ваших странах, у нас это произойдёт в конце мая)

В этот раз расскажу немного о нанесении жидкой шпаклевки, т.к. это довольно важный этап.

Начну с того, что необходимо учитывать температуру помещения, требуемую изготовителем жидкой шпаклёвки, и атмосферное давление компрессора. От этих 2-х факторов зависит качество покрытия, которое позже придётся шлифовать. К примеру, при низкой температуре помещений и слабом давлении шпаклёвка образует крупную шагрень, шлифовка которой занимает много времени.
Информация по температуре и давлению указана на этикетке изготовителя, если нет - посоветуйтесь с продавцом.

Наносили шпаклёвку мы вдвоем, 3-4 слоя. Один человек работал с распылителем, другой размешивал и подавал шпаклевку, промывал пистолет и фотографировал процесс.

Необходимое оборудование -

- Пульверизатор (распылитель, пистолет)
- Маска защитная
- Одноразовые перчатки
- Шуруповерт с насадкой для перемешивания шпаклевки
- Сосуд, в котором промывать пистолет после использования
- Ацетон
- Кисть для промывки
- Компрессор

Важно!

При работе с химическими веществами, краской, ацетоном - носите маску со спациальными фильтрами. Здоровье на первом месте!

Про технику работы и нанесение шпаклевки и краски можно найти массу статей и видео роликов. Работать надо быстро и качественно, тщательно промывать пистолет после работы и следить за давлением и температурой.

Dead man`s Chest

Stories and legends always always excite our imagination. It takes me back in the days of kings, great sailing ships, cannons and pirates.

Here is a legend (based on the true story and substantiated evidence) about the song "Fifteen men on the dead man's chest" came from.
The mystery of "Dead Man's Chest" and fifteen pirates managed to solve only in our time.
English geographer and researcher, a passionate traveler and collector of seashells Quentin van Marla took a small naval expedition to the Caribbean in the area of Cuba.
He had a speedboat, adapted for a long walks by the sea. Suddenly, the motor of the boat stalled, and all attempts to make it work failed. He took a binocular to look around and he found a narrow stripe of land on the horizon. He built a primitive sail and by the dusk Marla reached small island.
Traveler notified his position by a radio rescue service and spent night in the boat. At the dawn he decided to explore the island.

It was a desolate, sad piece of land, rocky, covered with small bushes, where snakes and lizards were the only inhabitants.
On board of a rescue boat Marla asked the captain - what is the name of the island where he spent the night. Marla was amazed with the reply ... the island was called "Dead Man's Chest"!
Traveler immediately realized that in his hands is the key to the mystery of the song from the novel "Treasure Island".

Next Marla took archival searches, studied the history of piracy in the Caribbean and detailed biographies of famous pirates. Finally, he found the documents, which fully confirmed his guess on the part of the words of the pirate song.
This happened at the beginning of XVIII century. On the pirate ship "Queen Anne's Revenge," commanded by Edward Teach, known as Blackbeard, one of the most feared pirate leaders of the Caribbean, because of captains cruelty, crew started riot. The rebels had no luck. Blackbeard,was strong man and perfectly used his weapons, locked himself in his cabin, fought off the attackers and quickly suppressed a riot.

Teach decided to land fifteen particularly active rebel on a deserted island called "Dead Man's Chest." Each of the pirates handed over a bottle of rum, and then stranded a bunch of boarding sabers. Teach knew that the island has no fresh water, and rum only enhances thirst, and, therefore, all the rebels are doomed to a painful death. It was not enough for vengeful Teach . Knowing irascible, irrepressible nature of drunken pirates, he hoped that they would soon they will get drunk and hack each other.
Rebels landed on the island, Blackbeard set sail, and soon his ship disappeared over the horizon.
For Billy Bones and his companions came nightmarish days and nights. On the dead man's chest was really tight, as in the trunk.On the Extended to quadrilateral land size 10x20 meters bunched people had no way to hide from the sun, wind and snakes.

The history about fifteen pirates landed on the "Chest of the dead", quickly extended across all Caribbean Sea, and soon there was a song telling about tests which has fallen to their lot.

Тайну «сундука мертвеца» и пятнадцати пиратов удалось разгадать лишь в наше время, и то по чистой случайности.
Английский географ-исследователь, страстный путешественник и коллекционер морских раковин Квентин Ван Марле предпринял небольшую морскую экспедицию по Карибскому морю в район Кубы. В его распоряжении был быстроходный катер, приспособленный для длительных прогулок по морю. Неожиданно мотор катера заглох, и все попытки завести его окончились неудачей. Осмотрев морской простор в бинокль, Марле увидел на горизонте узкую полоску суши. Соорудив примитивный парус и воспользовавшись благоприятным ветром, уже в сумерках Марле достиг небольшого острова. Ночь путешественник провёл в катере, предварительно сообщив свои координаты по рации службе спасения, а на рассвете решил обследовать остров.
Это оказался необитаемый, унылый клочок суши, каменистый, покрытый мелким кустарником, единственными обитателями которого были змеи и ящерицы, водившиеся здесь в огромном количестве.
Уже на борту спасательного судна Марле спросил капитана, как называется остров, на котором он провёл ночь. Ответ поверг Марле в изумление... остров назывался "Сундук мертвеца"!
Путешественник сразу понял, что в его руках находится ключ к раскрытию тайны песни из романа «Остров сокровищ».
Далее Марле предпринял архивные поиски, изучил историю пиратства в бассейне Карибского моря и подробные жизнеописания знаменитых пиратов. И, наконец, он отыскал документы, которые полностью подтвердили его догадку по части слов из пиратской песни.

Это произошло в самом начале XVIII века. На пиратском корабле «Месть королевы Анны», которым командовал Эдвард Тич по прозвищу Чёрная Борода, один из самых опасных пиратских главарей Карибского моря, из-за жестокости капитана вспыхнул мятеж. Мятежникам не повезло. Чёрная Борода, отличавшийся огромной силой и умением владеть оружием, заперся в каюте, отбился от нападавших и быстро подавил бунт.
Пятнадцать особо активных мятежников Тич решил высадить на необитаемый остров под названием "Сундук мертвеца". Каждому из пиратов вручили по бутылке рома, а потом выбросили на берег связку абордажных сабель. Тич знал, что на острове нет источников пресной воды, а ром только усиливает жажду, и, следовательно, все мятежники обречены на мучительную смерть. Но мстительному Тичу этого было мало. Зная вспыльчивый, неудержимый в пьянстве характер пиратов, он рассчитывал, что они скоро перепьются и изрубят друг друга...
Высадив мятежников на острове, Чёрная Борода поднял паруса, и скоро его корабль скрылся за горизонтом.
Для Билли Бонса и его товарищей наступили кошмарные дни и ночи. На Сундуке мертвеца было действительно тесно, как в сундуке. На вытянутом четырёхугольнике суши размером 10х20 метров сбившиеся в кучу люди не имели никакой возможности укрыться от палящего солнца, ветра и змей.
При помощи огнива моряки добыли огонь и развели небольшой костёр. За ночь в куски парусины они собирали росу, слегка разбавляли её морской водой и поровну делили между собой, но воды всё равно не хватало. От жажды и палящего солнца многие начинали бредить, и воспалённый мозг людей порождал по ночам кошмарных чудовищ вроде морского дьявола Дэви Джонса.
Но вопреки надеждам Чёрной Бороды драк и поножовщины между пиратами не возникало. Возможно, этому способствовал авторитет Билли Бонса. Судя по всему, именно его и прочили в капитаны вместо Тича неудачливые бунтовщики.
Во время отлива остров несколько увеличивался в размерах, море отступало, и изнурённые «робинзоны» собирали между кораллов моллюсков, крабов и черепах. Основной же пищей пиратов были змеи и ящерицы. Их убивали, потрошили, рубили на куски, вялили на солнце и затем ели.
Через месяц Тич вернулся к Сундуку мертвеца. Каково же был его изумление, когда вместо высохших трупов он обнаружил всех своих пиратов вполне живыми, правда, едва передвигающими ноги от истощения. По требованию команды Чёрная Борода простил мятежников и взял их на борт корабля.
История о пятнадцати пиратах, высаженных на Сундук мертвеца, быстро распространилась по всему Карибскому морю, и очень скоро появилась песня, рассказывающая о выпавших на их долю испытаниях.

Over the past few days we applied putty and sanded boat many times. Polyester spray filler showed all the bumps and now it takes plenty of time to finish of our model. Photos and information about the application of liquid putty coming soon on our website.

In short, this is a video on what questions and thoughts occur in all who visit us and take a quick look on the model of our boat.

За последние несколько дней лодка шпаклевалась и шлифовалась много раз. Жидкая паклёвка показала все неровности и сейчас много времени занимает доработка нашей модели. Фото и информация о нанесении жидкой шпаклёвки в ближайшее время на сайте.

Baltic Boat Show

Привет народ.

Пишу Вам с выставки "Baltic Boat Show" в Риге на Кипсале. На первый взгляд казалось довольно большое и шумное событие, но ....но! Да, здесь есть народ, стэнды представителей охоты, рыбалки, лодки весельные и надувные, 2 больших катера ни и во втором зале мото техника. Мы пришли посмотреть на яхтенные дела и, к сожелению, остались разачарованы. Понравились парочка мотоциклов. С парусами были всего 2 маленьких катамарана. Фото по ссылке тут. В общих чертах - слабовато.

That G & T Shipyard did in March?

Hello yacht athletes and fans!

I looked at the mountain of photos that have accumulated in March and decided to describe the process in general terms.

Forgive me for the news at the moment are in Russian, then in English. I work hard to make everything comfortable and functional for you, but I must work on the boat as well.

No matter how cold and snowy it was lately, we keep going well.
March 18 and 19 turned out to make just a few pictures, because We were busy with the last measurement and calibration of deck-house to the central axis.

It was important for a few more items to fathom symmetry, angles, and radii.
After deck-house and side seats were fixed with putty and temporary wooden beams, we started putty corners and shaping the radius.

This is only half woes, still need everything to be sanded !

March 20, judging by the photos, we have started to model the side boards.
There are many ways, but we have chosen a rather economical and fast. Pressed foam is well bent and well glued with montage foam. In the photo you can see this pressed foam and clips.

Important!
It is important to firmly stick the foam to the product (in this case we are talking about the sides tightly pressed with clips) because while drying foam expands and output product can get the curve. It is better to check 100 times how well the pressed foam is processed rather 100 times sticking and tearing it of.

I do recommend to wait a while before taking the clips off as depending on the temperature and the manufacturer (as it turned out), the foam has a different drying time, although at first glance it may seem that it froze but inside it`s liquid. I Recommend reading the instructions of the manufacturer.

March 21th, we continue to work with the pressed foam. It is Cold, we are hungry, keep going!

Then proceed on March 25th. Then we glued plywood using the same technology as the pressed foam - foam and clips.

Important! Check how tight and how symmetrical plywood sides, as the form and the product can be effected.

March 26th plaster dried up on the boat and we were working on drawers, lids and frameworks.

The main work, as you may have guessed, it's sanding and putty. That's what we did before the end of March. We also have discussed and resolved technical problems and other questions.

We have bought mahogany and saw this precious plaque on the right segments, and sanded after. We well come back to the wood work a bit later.

Still we have many questions on painting the mast boom and mast, as well as on the device and the bowsprit.

Finally, on March 30, we have applied the first layer of polyester spray filler on the details. About applying putty, see the following article.

Hello guys!

Here comes the saved-up material,

On March 15th we managed to borrow the steering machine for a while from our old companion, friend and fiber glass specialist - Egdar. The machine was really useful for us, because after long trying and thoughts it was necessary to change a design of the back kit locker, otherwise the installation of the conducting mechanism by a rudder blade would be impossible.

Then there appeared a problem - a cable of the steering machine was quite long, as well as a poker, and also it was impossible to bend a cable strongly.

We made the last completions on the deck - puttied it once again several times, polished the WELL designed for automatic bilge pump and also processed the cover model for it.

The model of the cover (on the photo) pasted to thin plywood in order that the form had a flange, respectively the product too. On the finished product this flange is being cut off, and the product has equal sides.

Important! Practically each product has semicircular sides and corners with an angle more than 90 degrees in relation to the deck, and they also have radius. Later on I will explain it in the video.

1) The opposite radius (more than 90 degrees in relation to the deck) is set in order that the form that is glued on top of the model, could be taken off easily without damaging the form and the model.

2) Bends make a design more durable, respectively it`s possible to spend less material and not to resort to additional designs.

3) It makes the yacht more aesthetic, etc.

On the deck was made the marking of seats, and we needed just to fasten wooden beam to which fastens the bottom part of our seats. It was important to set the radius of the seat to the beam, because when using putty on plywood, plywood may deform if the prepared beam and ply are not fixed strongly enough.

The remained day we puttied and polished seats and deck-house.

We have put the deck, seats and deck-house into the place, tried it on about 30 times again and again, and then fixed with putty and wooden beams.

Что G&T Shipyard делали в марте?

Привет спортсменам и любителям!

Посмотрел я на гору фотографий, которые накопились за март, и решил описать процесс в общих чертах.

Простите за то, что новости на данный момент то на русском, то на английском языках. Работаю над тем, чтобы сделать все удобно и функционально.

Все фотографии, что я успел сделать, находятся на google+ Eduards Grigorjevs профиль. Те, кто пользуются google и, на мой взгляд, замечательным приложением google+, быстро найдут все фотографии и еще массу всякой всячины.

Как бы небыло холодно и снежно в последнее время, работа на нашей верфи продвигается.
18 и 19 марта получилось сделать всего несколько фотографий, т.к. заняты мы были последними замерами и калибровкой кокпита по отношению к центральной оси.

Важно было еще несколько раз промерить симметричность изделий, углов и радиусов.
После того как рубка и боковые сидения были закреплены при помощи шпаклёвки и временных, вспомогательных досок, мы принялись шпаклевать углы и задавать им радиус.

Это только пол беды, ёще надо и отшлифовать всё!

20 марта , судя по фото, мы начали моделировать борта.
Существует масса способов, но мы выбрали довольно экономичный и быстрый. Пресованный пенопласт хорошо гнётся и отлично клеится на монтажную пену. На фото увидите этот пенопласт и струпцины.

Важно! Очень важно плотно приклеивать пенопласт к изделию (в нашем случае речь идёт о бортах и плотно прижимаем струпцинами), при высыхании пена увеличивается в объёме и на выходе может получиться кривое изделие. Лучше 7 раз проверить насколько хорошо прижат пенопласт, чем 7 раз переклеивать!

Стоит времечко подождать, прежде чем снять струпцины, т.к. в зависимости от температуры и производителя (как выяснилось), пена имеет разное время высыхания, хотя на первый взгляд может показаться, что она застыла. Рекомендую читать инструкции по применению.

21 марта мы продолжаем работу с пенопластом. Холодно, кушать хочется, а работать надо!

Далее перейдем на 25 марта. Тут мы клеим фанеру при помощи такой же технологии, как и с пеной - пена и струпцины.

Важно! Проверьте насколько плотно прилегает фанера и на сколько симметричны борта, т.к. от от этого зависит вид формы и в дальнейшем самого изделия.

26 марта сохла шпаклёвка на лодке и мы занимались ящиками, крыжками и рамками.

Основная работа, как вы уже догадались, это шлифовка и шпаклёвка. Именно этим мы и занимались до конца марта. Еще мы обсуждали и решали технические задачи и их решения.

Купили красное дерево, распилили драгоценную доску на нужные отрезки, и зашлифовали. На данный момент это в стороне и ждет своего часа.

Много вопросов по покраске мачты, гика и стеньги, а так же по устройству и виду бушприта.

Ну и наконец, 30 марта мы нанесли первый слой шпаклевки на детали. О нанесении шпаклевки читайте в следующей статье.

Всем Привет!

Продолжаю выставлять накопленный материалл.

15 Марта нам удалось одолжить на время рулевую машинку у старого товарища, друга и специалиста по стекловолокну Эдгара. Машинка нам пригодилась, так как после долгих примерок и раздумий пришлось изменить конструкцию заднего рундука, иначе была бы невозможна инсталляция механизма управления пером.

Задачу усложнило то, что трос рулевой машинки довольно длинный, как и сама кочерга, а также его нельзя сильно изгибать.

Далее покажу на фото тот самый ящик.

Палуба подверглась последним доработкам. Еще несколько раз прошпаклевали и зашлифовали КОЛОДЕЦ, Обработали для него модель крыжки.

На фото модель крыжки, приклеенная к тонкой фанере, для того, чтобы у формы была отбортовка, соответственно и у изделия. На готовом изделии эта отбортовка обрезается, и у изделия получаются ровные края.

Важно. Практически на каждом изделии края и углы полукруглые, с углом более 90% по отношению к палубе, и имеют радиус.

Обратный радиус (более 90% по отношению к палубе) задается для того, чтобы поклеянную поверх модели форму можно было снять, не повредив при этом ни саму модель ни готовую форму.
Изгибы придают прочность конструкции, соответственно возможно расходовать меньше материала и не прибегать к дополнительным конструкциям.
Это придает эстетичность яхте и др.

На палубе была сделана разметка сидений, и нам оставалось прикрутить брусок, к которому крепится нижняя часть наших сидений. Важно было задать бруску радиус сидения, т.к. при нанесении шпаклевки на фанеру, фанера имеет свойство деформироваться из-за того, что заготовка была не прочно закреплена.

Оставшийся день мы шпаклевали и шлифовали сидения и носовую часть. Поставили палубу на место, потом сидения и Носовую часть, еще раз 30 примерели и закрепили.

I would like to share some information about great venue in Riga this summer.

They are looking forward to being the venue of The Tall Ships Races in 2013 and making it a celebration for the inhabitants and guests of Riga."

We don`t have much time left to prepare for this venue, but our boat will be ready and will take part on races.

First day of project

Woke up early, had a perfect meal and coffee as always...ok, I lied, not like that.

I was very excited about first day , think my dad too. That day we had to sign a contract for rent and to move in the new premisses. In the early morning we did it and next thing according to the plans was boat form delivery.

For that porpouse we had Land Cruiser and Trailer, luckily.

Form transportation seems to be easy because distance between company, where the forms were kept, and our new premisses is around 10 miles, But it takes a time.It took us 8 hours, to load, unload and transport this forms.

Long and exausting day it was. Here are some photos of the boat form itself !

Bottom form is 3,70 m. long , 1,6 m. wide made of fiberglass and metal skeleton, plywood stand. Weight is approximately 250 kg. This forms of boat bottom were modeled 7 years ago. Modelling is the hardest and dirtiest job. It takes a lot of time,patience, perfect eye on the details, plastering, sanding because model must be done in perfect summetry and ideal surface. If the model is not perfect, the form and product will not pass the standarts.

For us it is a bit harder to run this boat building process, because we are bulding new project, not following already existing one. Project will be done side by side with the real boat.

The design of this boat is developed for one person handling. It will be easy , safe and pleasant to handle because all the running rigging can be easily reach by the person handling the boat. It is designed for both left-handed and right-hended.

This sailing boat will be equipped with steering wheel (it will be possible in the future to order boat equipped with tiller and it will be low budget option ).

It has been a long time now, since I last time sailed or posted something in my blog.

Me and my dad , we have started new Sailing Boat Project.

Short intro now.

I have a post "Sailing Story" telling about my dad`s sailing. He is sailing for many years now and used to work and sail in Canada for last 3 years. Basically he is construction professional and he can build, I think, almost everything. Before that he used to work on boat manufactory company at home country. I`m more or less in the construction, internet stuff, pics, video and PR.

The idea of the project was born at least 8 years ago. My dad is always looking for yacht and boat information on the internet, he has found a lots of different projects and boats. We were about to buy own boat, but the idea came up and he started to promote it.

Project itself is a smallest and safest cruising sailing boat. That time, let`s say 5 years ago, he has started modeling bottom side of the boat and it all stopped on 3 ready bottom forms. Unfortunately he could not continue the project that time, but it was a stone what he has carried and twisted in the head many times through this years.

As we are working on the boat every day, I`ll do my best and give you all the pics, videos, description, tutorials, jokes and latest info on boat building process.

Hello Dear Reader!

It has been a long time since i posted something new here. Today`s post story from my dad. It`s about how he started to sail.

* Greetings dear reader. Today I've decided to share my yacht story with you.

The Legend

In early spring of year 2006 i was reading different kind of advertisements and I've found one ad. Ad was inviting people on skipper training course. The fact is that was always interested in sailing but this theme seemed so unreal and far from reality probably `cause of stereotype that sailing sport and yacht adventure is only for reach people and the other fact that sailing is for young people. I was in my 40`s than.

Despite all of this stereotypes and believes I have decided to go to local marine and get some more information cause one of my favourite phrases is - ^If you don`t ask, you won't get an answer^. Anyway, I had nothing to lose. I called to Marine and arranged time and date of meeting. I was a bit surprised when i was asked to bring my friend with me. I always had only few friend , nut because of I`m not sociable, it`s just can not be a lot of GOOD friends only a few reliable. I invited my school mate. I did that with intention, cause he had an alcohol addiction. I really wanted to help him that is why offered this opportunity. In moment when I told him about the yachts and sailing i remember That sparkle in his eyes. It was clear as a day that he is interested in this. I count on that and in the future i was right by my decision to offer him this sailing theme.

Next sunday we went to local marine which is located in city centre. It was February, cold winter, harbour was covered with ice and snow. In-spite on this fact we had a perfect and decisive mood. At the entrance o solid man in the age met us,introduced himself and invited us to Crew cabin.

Vladimir Viktorovich, his name and fathers name, was funny, sociable and intelegent man and he was honoured USSR coach. I found out later that there are world champions and olympic chempions in sailing sport were among his students.Honoured man and amazing teacher who knows sailing from A to Z.

Since that our studies begun. I will admit that in first steps of learning theory i was a bit scared of the amount of information but in time, when i learned all the basis things got easier and much understandable. basic theory course consisted of 10 practical sessions. All the rest information I have learned at home. Time to the beginning of sailing season went very fast.

After boat repairs and prepairing for sailing season yacht marine had 2 boats for our studies. Boath boats were 22 feet, manufactured in Poland in 1986. Boats seemed very similar from the first sight but were different, cause one yacht was pitching and another dinghy.Difeerence i felt from the first moments cause driving performance of these boats is different.Yes, the very first time, those first sensations in the management of a yacht, sail, wind, tiller in hand and surf the water behind the stern - this is beyond words, it`s just has to bee seen and felt.Brains disconnect completely from all over the mundane, there you feel eternity, unity with mother nature and as worse is the weather and stronger wind the stronger the feeling.For me, it was revealed that many people on top do not understand how to handle the wind.Very quickly came to realize that managing sailing yacht requires immediate reaction perhaps even faster than driving a car.Especially with the gusty wind. I want to say directly about that is very difficult to turn cruise boat. It is for those who scared of water.

In my practice was not a single case of the coup.

Regardless of weather conditions on 99.9% boat flipped through the fault of the crew and the first ship's captain and only 0.1% of the weather conditions.

The Yacht

Today in this, let`s say, lesson I will describe what is yacht and what are main types of yachts.

Yacht (holand - jacht, jagen - to drive, pursue) . Originally light and fast vessel for transportation of important persons. Subsequently — any sailing or the motor sailing boat intended for the sports or tourist purposes.Motor Sailing yachts are most extended.

In modern use the term "Yacht" means three various ships classes: sailing yachts, motor sailing and motor yachts.Almost all sailing yachts has inboard or outboard motors for maneuvering in marine or driving with small speed for lack of a wind.

All the boats / yachts can be divided into motor boats, sailing boats, catamarans,gulets and luxury yachts. Each of the group has a subgroup of its own. Thus, the motor boats can be divided into those with one engine, with two or more engines, fly bridge or open. Sailing boats also have so many varieties, cruising boats, racers. Not to mention luxury yachts and gulets.

Let`s talk about dimensions of yacht.

The greatest length (LOA or Overall Length) and the greatest width (Overall Beam) are overall dimensions. Include all acting parts, such as a bowsprit (the horizontal or inclined element acting forward from a nose of a sailing vessel, is intended for removal forward the center of sails that improves manoeuvrability of a vessel), the anchor, etc. Yacht Hull Length. The more important indicator of the speed limit, which is capable of yacht - the length of the waterline.

Max draft (when the boat is fully loaded with supplies, with the crew and passengers on board in fresh water) - Draft maximum.

Displacement. Measured in tons of displaced water. This is considered the weight of the yacht.

For sailing yachts have to take into consideration the height of the mast above the water. But this is only if the yacht will pass under the bridges.

Sailing yacht with motor.

  Sail-motor yacht. The basis of any yacht of its body. It treats all loads and thus should not overturn.   Of course, there are sailboats without a steady keel (or fins - there may be several). They are called the dinghy. At the bottom of a boat dinghy done well (or multiple wells), through which the crew lowers the centerboard - thus provide lateral resistance to the body. Centerboard itself is lightweight and is not intended to hold dinghy from capsizing, but rather it promotes it.Therefore, the crew is forced roll dinghy with their weight, which is not always possible. Max. Possible yacht speed

Between the keel and rudder blade is a propeller. Moving under sail, it is the only brake. You should know that boards are completely symmetrical to each other, but unequal in value.Starboard - right board is traditionally considered more honorable than the left board - Port. Anywhere in the hull above the water can be arranged windows open or blind. Vertically arranged box called portholes, and a horizontal position - hatches. As with conventional windows, they perform the functions of natural light and ventilation.While sailing this windows are closed, to provide water-resistance. Opaque doors, which you can find in the sides of large boats, called the lats ports and serve to communicate the interior of the yacht with the outside. Use them mainly for parking.

Deck is upper surface of the body with all that there is. And there are superstructure, the cabin, cockpit, winch, sensible things, air intakes and so on. Superstructure or deck - sort of cabin on the deck, increasing the volume of the interior yacht. On the sport yacht may be no superstructure, but on the cruise may be several. The cockpit is the opposite of the superstructure.

Winches are installed around the cockpit, without which even on a small boat can not control sheets and halyards of sails.

It`s time to deal with the ropes. There are rigging and ends on the yacht. Rigging is running and standing. Standing rigging is constantly stretched - stuffed and mounted.
