Join the St. Monica Young Adults each Thursday during Lent for Thirsty Thursdays. Following the 5:30pm mass all young adults are invited to join us in the Youth and Young Adult office for Bible study, reflection, food and fellowship. Calling all men (and a few good women, too)! The Christ Renews His Parish Renewal weekends for SPRING 2013 are fast approaching. These weekends are an opportunity for participants to really know the love of God and to be renewed in faith– all by the grace of the Holy Spirit and the tremendous support of other adults. It is a weekend of food, fellowship, fun – and especially, renewal of faith! The Spanish weekends are full to capacity with a waiting list: however, ANYONE who can speak English fairly well is welcome to the English weekends!! Weekends begin Saturday at 8:00 am and conclude Sunday afternoon.

Saturday, March 2nd, will once again be our turn to serve our brothers and sisters in need by volunteering at the St. Vincent DePaul Distribution Center. All types of help is needed including volunteers for: (especially) truck drivers and assistants, house wares and linens, in the warehouse and on the dock. Please plan to lend a hand to help others, especially needed in this difficult economy – it doesn’t take much to have a positive effect – just 4 short hours. I pray I’ll see you there on the 2^nd at 8:00am; the address is 1201 E. Maryland. If you have any questions, please call Mike Gaskey at 366-3153.

Due to the all West Deanery Mass this evening this evening taking place at St. Malachy Church in Brownsburg with Archbishop Tobin presiding, there will not be a daily mass, confessions or adoration at St. Monica. See you tomorrow on Ash Wednesday. Masses are at 6:30, 8:00, 12:00, 5:30 and 7:30 pm in Spanish.

Penance Service + Additional Times for Confession

Our Penance Service this Lent will be on Tuesday, February 19, beginning at 6:30 pm. Many priests will be here to hear confessions. A soup and bread supper in the Emmaus Center will be available for you afterward. Fr. Todd and Fr. Dustin hear confessions (almost) every Tuesday (none on Feb. 26, however) and Thursday after the 5:30 pm Mass and also on Saturdays from 4:00-5:00 pm. During the next several weeks they will also be available for this sacrament on the following dates:

Monday, February 25, from 6:00-9:00 pm.

Sunday, March 3, 8:45-11;45 am

Wednesday, March 6, 6:00-8:00 pm

Ash Wednesday Masses

Ash Wednesday is quickly approaching, that time of year where we turn inward to reconnect with our Lord and God through fasting and abstinance, by putting more prayer in our daily routine and performing more acts of charity, in order to glorify and grow closer to our Lord and celebrate His Ressurection on Easter. Masses at St. Monica begin at 6:30 am, followed by 8:00 am (school participation), 12:00 noon, 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm in Spanish.

March for Life 2013

January 22nd was the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade court descision that legalized abortion in this country. The Catholic Church has always used this day and the following week as one of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion and an increase in respect for human life. The youth listed below from St. Monica are making a pilgrimage to Washington, D.C. to participate in the March for Life. Please keep them in prayer and pray that their generation will end abortion and help us to see each other as God sees us (Genesis 1:27, 2:18-24).
