I feel betrayed! If you’re a conspiracy theorists like me, the film holds no suspense for you. If you’re Bebo fan like me, the film holds no treat for you. And lastly, if you’re a Saif fan like me, the film has very little ‘acting’ from him. Kareena is used and abused for her star power and not given the briefest chance to act. Saif is too busy saying one liners and being trigger friendly to act. There’s nothing innovative in story or style. To top it all off, the screenplay didn’t even have the decency to be somewhat engaging and you find yourself checking your watch. Do yourself a favour and re-watch Ramanand Sagar’s 1968 spy thriller and blockbuster Aankhen which for a 44 year old film was miles ahead of the concept and execution of today’s Agent Vinod. This one is all style and no substance. 3 hrs of your life you’ll never get back.

The man who sometimes gave us 2-3 films a year took a long break from Hindi cinema. I don’t know about you lot but I for one definitely missed Priyadarshan. Even if despite its critical acclaim I didn’t find Aakrosh to be all that impressive and a highly flawed script. But thats not to deny the fact that the man is one heck of a talented film maker. He may not always strike gold with his more serious offerings but when it comes to comedy he pens stories like no other. Hera Pheri, Chup Chup Ke, Hulchul and Hungama are just some of my favourite comic capers from the national awards winning director.

He returns with Tezz and with two of my favourite actors in a leading roles, Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor. Only a film maker who’s lasted over two decades in this industry would know the power of these two men and just how underrated they continue to be. I don’t think I could be happier that he’s pitted them against each other in what promises to be a fast paced action thriller. The cherry on top is Malayalam superstar Mohanlal who’s character is yet to be revealed. Supporting cast also consists of Zayed Khan and Rana Daggubatti (whether it is in a special appreance or a full fledged supporting role is yet to be revealed.)

Ofcourse we all know when it comes to his Hindi films Priyan has quite the terrible choice in his leading ladies and that doesn’t change with Tezz. With such an impressive male cast list, your excitement from the film becomes slightly less when you read names like Kangana Ranuat and Sameera Reddy on the list. The latter I don’t mind as much as the former who is surely going to make this a cringe worthy ride every time she appears onscreen.

But without dwelling on the negatives I’ll let you indulge in this exciting promo of the film.

What excites me more than the promo is the fact that we’ve got a Sajid Wajid musical finally in the horizon!

If buzz is anything to go by than Aanand Rai, director of Tanu Weds Manu, is not directing a sequel to the film next but infact a new script all together.

Titled Raanjhanaa, the film is based on two characters from Varanasi and stars Dhanush and Sonam. For my Hindi readers, Dhanush is the actor, singer and lyricist behind the success of Why This Kolavari Di. And for my Southie readers, Sonam is the girl who does better magazine shoots than movies. Actors as poles apart as they come yet coming together for one heck of an interesting project.

Sonam is said to be playing a ‘plum’ student of Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University and will in fact be spending time in the university to better understand her character. It is believed that Aanand Rai wanted this extra effort on Sonam’s part as the culture and conduct of JNU student’s is rather different to other university students. But apparently he’s very impressed by the level of committment the young Kapoor has shown and is confident that despite the fact that the role will require a complete image makeover she’ll be able to pull it off.

However that’s not to say Dhanush has a easy ride ahead. The Tamil National Award Winning superstar is working hard on his Hindi. He’s said to be attending dubbing sessions of his film ’3′ and also involved with a Hindi coach.

Whilst I may have been in the minority when it comes to loving Tanu Weds Manu but there’s no denying that this is one heck of an interesting project in the horizon. I cannot wait to see it shape up and get more details on all that we can expect.

From sports betting Kunal Deshmukh brings us to arms trading with Jannat 2. Keeping up with the trend of ‘series’ films where the central character remain the same however the plot changes, Jannat 2 is the story of yet another Arjun Dixit (Emraan Hashmi).

Hashmi is a one man army who likes to surprise us each time. This time around he arrives with another sizzling lady by his side, a Ms Esha Gupta, and will also rub shoulders with hottie Randeep Hooda onscreen and Bhatt protege Imran Zahid.

Bhatt films and in particular Hashmi films pretty much guarantee you a rocking soundtrack and Pritam has promised to do just that. Whilst we patiently wait for the music release, here’s the latest trailers of the film that give you a glimpse and the music and film alike.

Teaser

So what do you all think? Can Pritam recreate the craze of a track like Zara Si? Do we have another Hashmi-hit on our hands?
