So, I’ve seen this floating around tumblr… But I don’t really USE tumblr, you know? So I figured I could do this here.

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession.

I guess that’ll be the next post! <3

When I decided where I wanted to go to college initially, I majorly screwed up. Unlike most of my friends (primarily students of a higher caliber than most), I decided to “stay behind” in our hometown, going to the institution closest to ours. As a result, I have had to watch a large chunk my friends leave me to go off to their cool college lives.

Yes, it sucks. Butthis is why I myself have had to forge a new, different life for myself. I have a job, I have plans for my life, and I have other friends too =]

The only downside, of course, is that I am going to have to choose a new college for me to attend soon. There are several options, of course (Seton Hall, where I was initially set on attending; Towson University in MD; and some other random schools….) and the main goal is having me graduate with a degree in Literature, so I can pursue a Masters in Library Science, but also so I can achieve the major goal of teaching English in Japan.

Yeah, yeah. What a plan.

Today, I made a very big decision. I decided to opt out of my beauty pageant to concentrate on raising money to travel the world. I have even outlined where I am visiting over the next few years, thanks to EF College Break Tours!

The first trip has been decided for sure–I know it’s for sure because I already began paying it off. Anything else is simply… what I want to desperately do.

Summer 2011: Japan
Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Nara, Hakone, Tokyo – 07/13/2011 – 07/24/2011

Yep, I put a down payment on this, this very morning, as soon as I saw my check had come through. This is my dream trip–the only thing that could make it better is seeing Sapporo, but quite frankly, I can go without if it means I can see Japan on a whole! Included stops are: Osaka, Himeji Castle, Hiroshima, Miyajima Park, Kyoto, Nara, Hakone, Kamakura, and TOKYO! I can’t imagine

Unless one of my friends decides to do this trip as well, I’m going it alone. I’m actually incredibly excited–nothing sounds better than this, and I completely expect to make amazing lifelong friendships.

Also, we can say it’s a birthday present of sorts–I would be turning 20 in Japan, on Marine Day. YES. Legally an adult in Japan, I can go drink ALL THE SAKE I WANT.

Winter Break 2012: London & Paris
approximately… 12/27/2011 -01/03/2012

That just SOUNDS fabulous, doesn’t it? I may or may not do this, depending on how much money I make after I come back from Japan. I can’t see why I wouldn’t, as this is a cheaper trip, all things considered.

This particular trip would hit all the big spots in the two biggest European tourist cities… London’s great architecture, everything Paris has got… Knowing me, I’d also opt for the two optional add-ons: Stonehenge&Bath and Versailles!

Also, I’d be celebrating New Year’s Eve in FREAKING PARIS.

Unless something better comes up… I’d love to take this trip for my winter break.

Summer Break 2012: Turkey, Greece and Italy
Istanbul, Bosphorus Strait, Canakkale, Troy, Pergamon, Ephesus, Kusadasi, Patmos, Heraklion, Santorini, Athens, Cape Sounion, Delphi, Pompeii, Rome, Vatican City, Florence, Pisa

An 18 day trip jam packed with history. This would be the trip of a LIFETIME for me, perhaps beating Japan only because it’s an 18 day trip and I’d probably be 21 by then, and totally legal everywhere and having a FUN TIME. Everywhere says that Greece and Italy are beautiful and amazing–I can’t imagine NOT going at least once in my life. So… I will! Most likely

YUP. That’s my two year plan

These are a few things that I think about at 2 AM:

Oh, wow, Moo is sooo cute!

Seriously, this kitten is the most adorable thing on the freakin’ planet. She curls up in a ball on my shoulder and then accidentally rolls off, then falls asleep at my side… I mean, how can I not love her? Earlier, she was climbing into pots!

Insomnia is such a bitch.

I work at 7:30 AM tomorrow, which means I’ll probably blog later today about my day (for I am in salads).

I also made pancakes. My boss’s birthday is approaching, and I need to repay him for the cake he got me for mine. So PANCAKES!!!!!

I also made my friend a pancake. It’s tiny. He was being ridiculous.

Boys are sooo ridiculous.

They are.

I need to send off my Miss New Jersey USA registration thingy, and then start looking for sponsors.

Self-explanatory.

I’m poor as hell but I need a new laptop.

SEND ME MONEY. No, just kidding.

Rawr.

Dunno where that came from

So, I was walking up the stairs with my laptop to make a post about how I never wanted to work again ever (while simultaneously getting ready for the work I hate) and I got to the top of the stairs, and sitting there, on a rather large misplaced Japanese fan is my kitten, Moo. If you’re wondering where she got her name, it’s because she looks like a Moo Cow, except she’s not, she’s a Moo Kitty.

Anyway, Moo is all curled up on this fan on the floor, and I’m at the top of the stairs, and she looks up at me like, “Oh, hey Mommy, fancy meeting you here.” And I’m like “Moo, you’re so strange, what are you doing on the ground like that?”

Then I go into my room, and she follows, and sits at my feet and starts yelling at me, like “Mommy, I need to be fed now.” And I’m like “Moo Kitty, I totally already fed you, you get fed again when I get home from work later.”

So she walks away, sits down on a blanket on the floor, and starts licking at her privates.

Cleopatra said something to that effect in Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, at the very end of the first act. Of course, she was remembering and regretting her youthful affair with Julius freakin’ Caesar, but still. That doesn’t mean the idiom isn’t useful.

Of course, I myself am in my salad days for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, I am 19. That’s a pretty big part of it–I am in the heyday of my “salad days,” where I am/will be prone to making huge mistakes with my life, acting reckless, and such. Of course, I myself am pretty tame a person, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have salad days, which wikipedia says is a time marked by: “inexperience, innocence, idealism, enthusiasm and indiscretion.” I have plenty of those!

Another large part of the “salad days” is the fact that I work in a local grocery store, primarily in a section known as–you guessed it–salads. While I do work in other sections (actually, I dabble in just about every section these days), my primary place is the salads department, serving cole slaw to old ladies and packing out salads for shelves. Ah, yes. The term “salad days” fits almost TOO perfectly.

The most exciting part of being young is that I have the chance to do crazy things, that I would never ever go for if I used my head. For instance: joining a beauty pageant. The Miss New Jersey USA Pageant, to be precise.

Welcome to Salad☆Days… The lead up to Krissi being in her first ever pageant…. Ever. And also, you know, working and living and being fantastic. YAYYY!
