Some time ago I was fortunate enough to get to photography a dear friend, Kelly’s third pregnancy. And when I say fortunate I mean fortunate… she literally went into labor the very next day. Sweet friend, you looked so fabulous! I miss you like crazy and I can’t wait until the next time I get see you and your adorable family.

I couldn’t have been more thrilled when Brian and Sabrina chose me for their spring wedding at Alderbrook Resort. They are fun, athletic, energetic and full life…a winning combo! Recently, we meet at Alderbrook for a consultation and an engagement mini session. I had a great time chatting with these two (actually four… Sabrina’s mother and Brian’s daughter joined us… the more the merrier!) about their upcoming wedding plans. Being a wedding photographer it is hard for me to imagine, but Sabrina has actually never been to a wedding…. Huh??? What?! I know. It’s true. So, I am pretty confident that I completely overwhelmed her with ideas…sorry!

B&S, I am hope you enjoy these engagement images. I had a blast taking them and I can not wait for your WEDDING. Yay!

It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am to all my amazing clients. 2010 was a down right fabulous year. I was honored to have a front row seat to so many touching ceremonies and beautiful events… you guys went all out this year! Thank you for making 2010 rockin!!!

Nate & Jana | Wedding Preview {NW Baptist Seminary, Tacoma, WA | Wedding Photographer}

Nate & Jana’s wedding was a little bit like a fairytale. Set at the spectacular Northwest Baptist Seminary over the looking the beautiful commencement bay. The views were almost as stunning as Nate & Jana. As a child Jana grew up playing on the grounds and in mansion and always imaged having her wedding here. Did I mention that Jana’s father has worked at the seminary for over 30 years! The mansion is a photographers dream! With so many wonderful rooms, beautiful grounds I was out of time before I was out of places & things to photograph.

Nate & Jana, you are two of the most loving and gentle people I have ever met. Thank you so much for allowing me to document such a special day…it was an honor. I hope you enjoy your preview. ~Saleina

Tim & Danielle | Wedding Preview {Kitsap Conference Center | Wedding Photographer}

I think when Tim and Danielle decided to have a “mad hatter cake” for their wedding they set the tone for a wonderfully topsy-turvy day! Things really got off to a topsy-turvy start with all the rain. We’re not talking about a sprinkle, or a mist, or even a drizzle. I am talking about pure 100% Washington State RAIN. It rained all day. I have never been so wet on a photo shoot. Tim & Danielle, truly could have cared less. They continued on smiling and enjoying each other all night – even when the firetrucks showed up…

Tim & Danielle, you two are amazing! It was such a wet and soggy joy to be at your wedding. I had so much fun at your wedding. Thank you SO much for having me. I hope you enjoy the preview. ~ Saleina

Jessica & Jed | Hitched! {Poulsbo, WA | Wedding Photographer}

What is it that my dad always says?… Ah yes, “you can make all the plans you want, but you better not plan the outcome.” This is a true statement folks. A very true statement. We had made some BIG, some FUN and some GREAT plans for Jessica & Jed’s wedding photography. One thing we really hadn’t planned on…rain. Yes, I know. It is Washington. Don’t get me wrong, we had a “rain plan”. I just didn’t really like the rain plan as much. In the hours leading up to the wedding, I revised the rain plan. The new plan starred three superheroes… Jessica, Jed, & Mor Mor Bistro. We set out on the streets of downtown Poulsbo armed with a new destination, a few umbrellas and my trusty Nikon – I think the results were fabulous!

Jessica & Jed, you two have been an absolute dream to work with. I feel SO blessed to have met you and gotten a chance to get to know you. Thank you so much for all your great ideas and not being afraid to just go for it. I hope you enjoy the blog! ~ Saleina

I’ve been dying to share these images. There are SO many… where to start. Here are some of my faves – in no particular order.

Jessica & Jed opted to see each other before the ceremony. Here they are waiting in agony to see each other. Jed was REALLY excited to see Jess. When he arrived with Danielle (my assistant), the first thing he said to me was… “Ah, man. I can’t wait to see Jess!” Come on ladies… how sweet is that?

This is a GOOD reaction! And, a really hot bride.

Jessica – you are STUNNING!!! Wow.

I am loving the petticoat & umbrella action.Jed is looking mighty fierce. I know. Yellow, flower sandals… so darn fun! One of my fondest memories of Jess was when she told me, “I kind of have a thing for yellow. There will not be ONE flower in those bouquets that is not yellow.” And, there wasn’t. The chic means business! I LOVE it.So the day I saw them installing this phone booth I freaked! I called my friend and fellow photographer (Katie) and said, “have you seen the new RED phone booth in downtown Poulsbo! I’m dying to get a bride in there.” Mission accomlished and I kind of like how the rain drops add to the steamy effect… nice. Sadly, I saw someone trying to get in the booth and they couldn’t… it had been locked! This is one of my favorite images of the day. SO sweet.

Kimberly & Josh | Preview {Kiana Lodge | Wedding Photographer}

So to say I was excited, thrilled, or even pumped to photograph my brother-in-law Josh and Kimberly’s wedding would be an understatement. I was downright fired up for this day. Olivia & Chez | Alderbrook Spa & Resort {Union, WA | Wedding Photographer}

When I arrived at Alderbrook, I didn’t have a clue which room Chez was in or which cabin Olivia & her sisters were getting ready in. So, I called Olivia’s cell, no answer. Next I tried Chez’s cell. There I was waiting, hoping, praying that Chez would answer his phone when I notice that the cell phone in the truck next to me is ringing. It couldn’t be. I hung up. The phone in the truck stops ringing. Coincidence? I’ll try again. Yep. It’s Chez’s truck, with Chez’sphone ringing. Off to the front desk I go. The front desk directs me to Chez’s room, which is the exact room that my husband and I stayed in three weeks earlier…crazy. Working with Olivia & Chez has been a series of odd, fun events that make me feel like we were destine to meet and work together.

Olivia & Chez, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day. It has been such a pleasure to get know you.
