[Editor's Note: The writer's words of warning against the Western world's hubris in their dealings with Russia should be listened to. Sadly they will not. Putin's Russia, in league with both Iran and China, are a gathering threat to America's hegemony. The big showdown will be in the Middle East, very soon.]

Look at this from the Russian point of view.

The Russians all see that the US power is on the decline and that the dollar will, sooner or later, gradually or suddenly, lose its role as the main reserve and exchange currency on the planet (this process has already begun). Simply put � unless the US finds a way to dramatically change the current international dynamic the AngloZionist Empire will collapse. The Russians believe that what the Americans are doing is, at best, to use tensions with Russia to revive a dormant Cold War v2 and, at worst, to actually start a real shooting war in Europe.

So a declining Empire with a vital need for a major crisis, a spineless Western Europe unable to stand up for its own interest, a subservient Eastern Europe just begging to turn into a massive battlefield between East and West, and a messianic, rabidly russophobic rhetoric as the background for an increase in military deployments on the Russian border. [Editor's Note: People don't realize how over the last few years, the very trajectory of human history has changed. I appreciate this writer's sense of importance and urgency. Global energy and finance has put us on a track that will drive us into some of the most momentous times in world history.]

An Oil Glut Unleashes “World-Class Havoc�

In the meantime, there can be no question that the war of attrition is beginning to take its toll. In addition to hard-hit Arctic and North Sea producers, companies exploiting Alberta�s Athabasca tar sands are exhibiting all the signs of an oncoming crisis. While most tar sands outfits continue to operate (often at a loss), they are now postponing or cancelling future projects, while the space between the future and the present shrinks ominously.

Just about every firm in the oil business is being hurt by the new price norms, but hardest struck have been those that rely on “unconventional� means of extraction like Brazilian deep-sea drilling, U.S. hydro-fracking, and Canadian tar sands exploitation. Such techniques were developed by the major companies to compensate for an expected long-term decline in conventional oil fields (those close to the surface, close to shore, and in permeable rock formations). By definition, unconventional or “tough oil� requires more effort to pry out of the ground and so costs more to exploit. The break-even point for tar sands production, for example, sometimes reaches $80 per barrel, for shale oil typically $50 to $60 a barrel. What isn�t a serious problem when oil is selling at $100 a barrel or more becomes catastrophic when it languishes in the $30 to $40 range, as it has over much of the past half-year.

Aso remarked that "a similar [deflationary mindset] had occurred in the US in the 1930s. What solved the question? War! Because World War II had occurred during the 1940s and that became the solution for the United States. [We] have to switch [the Japanese] mindset... we are looking for the trigger."

Oil falls despite Saudi-Russian output deal

Oil prices fell on Tuesday despite Saudi Arabia and Russia agreeing to freeze oil output at January levels if other producers follow suit.

Since the breakup of the Soviet Union, Russia has used natural gas as a weapon against Ukraine and Europe as a whole. Threatening to shut off the pipes as the weather turns cold is a pretty effective way to influence foreign policy. But now it looks like one of Vladimir Putin�s key weapons is losing some of its punch.

I am left incredulous at the sycophantic slobbering on Twitter of the "Progressive" left and Obama supporters at the "success" of the "#IranDeal." The repercussions of this political agreement once that Iranian oil hits the market are going to be the tipping point in a Middle East conflagration that is even now being barely contained.

This is no different than the British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain circus that followed his speech concerning the Munich Agreement and the Anglo-German Declaration.

"Peace in our time."

Anybody who says otherwise in ridiculed as a bigot and a war monger, from Israel to Obama�s political opponents in America.

India and BRICS are so over the petrodollar

The last time a country decided to dump the dollar in the oil business, the US destroyed it. Now India, the world's third largest economy, and Iran have agreed to settle their outstanding oil dues in rupees. What's more, the two countries may conduct all future trade in their national currencies.

This follows an agreement between Iran and India in mid-2011 in which both sides decided to settle 45 per cent of India's oil import bill in rupees and the remaining 55 per cent in euros. In March 2012 the two countries inked the Rupee Payment Mechanism that allowed India to buy crude oil in its national currency. Iran then used the funds to buy products from Indian manufacturers.

Ironically, it is the US itself which is responsible for the dollar's elimination from India-Iran trade. The Rupee Payment Mechanism was set up to skirt American economic sanctions on Tehran. Iranian oil forms a significant portion of India's energy requirements. Similarly, the Iranians rely upon India for steel, medicines, food and chemicals.

Oil prices could break below $20 this year as tensions rise between Iran and Saudi Arabia, two of the world's largest oil players, Again Capital founding partner John Kilduff said Monday.

"I think you're going to get as low as $18 and maybe get as high as $48. ... It's going to get really ugly," he told CNBC's "Squawk Box." "The Iranians doubled down again, if that's even possible, by saying that they could put 500,000 more barrels on the market within weeks after the sanctions get lifted."

Kilduff was referring to the anticipated lifting of sanctions related to Iran's nuclear program, which have locked the country out of international oil markets. ...

"I'd like to stress once again that [Russia's operation in Syria] is completely legitimate, and its only aim is to aid in establishing peace," Putin said of Moscow�s Mid-East strategy. And while he�s probably telling the truth there, it�s only by default. That is, peace in Syria likely means the restoration of Assad (it's difficult to imagine how else the country can be stabilized in the short-term), and because that aligns with Russia�s interests, The Kremlin is seeking to promote peace - it�s more a tautology than it is a comment on Putin�s desire for goodwill towards men.

And then there�s Iran and its nascent nuclear program. Putin accused the US of illegitimately seeking to play nuclear police officer, a point on which he is unquestionably correct: The "hypothetical nuclear threat from Iran is a myth. The US was just trying to destroy the strategical balance, [and] not to just dominate, but be able to dictate its will to everyone � not only geopolitical opponents, but also allies."

Speaking of nukes, Putin also warned that some nuclear powers seem to believe that there�s a way to take the “mutually� out of “mutually assured destruction.�

The Russian Navy Has Awakened From Its Slumber

[Editor's Note: I remember people at FreeRepublic.com deriding the Russian Navy back in the late 90's as a credible threat. It was stupid of them. Deep down people who understood Ezekial 38-39 knew Russia was going to be back as a military power, but this world is blind and shortsighted, and God's word will stand.]

After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 the Office of Naval Intelligence stopped publishing its annual report on the Russian fleet. This was due to the fact that the Russian fleet quickly fell into disarray due to lack funding. It no longer posed the same sort of threat it did during the cold war.

For the first time in years, the US Naval intelligence branch has now felt it was time to put the Russian navy back on the radar and has published its report detailing the aggressive rearming of the Russian Navy.

This currently includes 56 submarines, 31 major surface ships and 99 minor surface vessels with an additional seven new warships and two submarines scheduled to enter service in 2016....

I don�t have the time to translate what Putin said word for word, but basically he said that the USA had refused every single Russian offer to negotiate about the US anti-missile system in Europe and that while the US had initially promised that the real target of this system was Iran, now that the Iranian nuclear issue had been solved, the US was still deploying the system. China�s Fu Xing Lu Shang studio produced a cartoon video that explains why President Xi Jinping is taking part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS summits.

The video shows Xi and Russian President Vladimir Putin participating in the twin summits, riding small electric cars, playing football and taking selfies together. It also talks briefly about the Cold War and explains why the summits are not a threat to the West.

The cartoon also explains why Xi and Putin meet so often, despite the fact that the regular meetings irk the rivals of both countries....

"The strategy behind the Belt and Road Initiative is to diversify transit lines, thereby mitigating China's vulnerability to external economic disruption and reinvigorating China's slowing economy. Ideally, China would like to link its inland cities to global markets with a diversified network of transit routes and energy pipelines, many of which would take inland routes and serve as alternatives to existing sea-lanes," the Stratfor report stated.

Since China's economy is heavily reliant on foreign trade and energy supplies through the country's "vulnerable" sea routes, it would be "relatively easy" for a potential adversary to disrupt China's trade and block the country.

"US war planners have certainly not ignored China's geographic vulnerability... In the case of a war between the United States and China, many US strategists favor imposing a distant blockade of Chinese waters," the analysts pointed out.

I wrote a review for this book back in 2007. I lost contact with the author after Obama's first election victory. David J. Jonsson's article are posted at my America At War site.

It is incredible seeing now, eight years later, how much of what he was foretelling has come to pass. I recommend it for an understanding of the massive scope of events roiling the world now, especially energy markets and the currency wars taking place today.

He quotes, "The United States cannot allow a China-Russia-Iran triad to monopolize Central Asia and the Middle East. If the SCO does mature as a competing body to the European Union and NATO, it could signify a dramatic shift in the current geo-strategic balance of power that currently favors Washington...."

Which is why, today in 2015, world war is coming. Putin genuinely believes that the Russian army is the best in the world, and to that end he is spending vast amounts of money. Their economy does not have a militarization upgrading existing infrastructure and active military campaigns (such as Crimea and Ukraine). Indeed, Russia has just completed an upgraded state of the art command and control centre underneath Moscow at an estimated cost of billions of U.S. dollars.

The slump comes at a particularly inopportune time for the military. Even if its resources were not being consumed in eastern Ukraine, Russia's ongoing initiative to improve its armed forces is extremely costly, with defense expenditures set to soar 44 percent from 2013 to 2016.

Shrinking energy revenues are now curtailing those ambitions by constraining the budget. According to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, the crash will deprive the Kremlin of $180 billion in 2015 alone.

Despite this shortfall, the Finance Ministry's official stance is to leave military allocations untouched, choosing instead to decimate funding for every other sector. Siluanov himself has admitted that something must change. "When we were adopting the defense program, the forecasts for the economy and budget revenues were completely different," he said. "Right now, we just cannot afford it."

Russia is heading into a “deep recession,� Barclays Capital analysts warned Wednesday after returning from a week long trip to Moscow.

Short-term issues include significantly lower oil prices than what the government budgeted for, and geopolitical tensions with Ukraine that have led to sanctions. The sanctions affect the economy through a higher cost of capital as companies can no longer tap European banks for low interest rates. Yes, those grim forecasts were made two months ago. But with crude production still booming in the U.S. and demand sluggish around the world, it seems like cheap oil is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Less than one month after Russia signed its $400 billion dollar energy deal with China, on Dec. 1, 2014, the fifth summit of the Turkey-Russia High Level Cooperation Council, culminated with the signing of agreements and an amazing announcement by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin stated that the South Stream pipeline project, which was to carry Russian natural gas to Europe through a conduit running under the Black Sea to Bulgaria and then Austria, had been terminated and the new gas route would run through Turkey. This makes Turkey extremely dependent upon Russia. Turkey is the home of several NATO military facilities including nuclear weapons.

If Russia is to successfully turn Germany and Turkey away from NATO, America would see the breakup of NATO.

From a country standpoint, the key question is whether you are a net energy importer or user. In the United States, Japan, India, China and most of Europe, we are net energy importers. As such, lower prices will help us spend less. Alas, it�s a zero-sum game on a global basis because what benefits net importers hurts net exporters, such as Russia, Iran, Venezuela and Mexico.

This, in turn, could lead to higher levels of political unrest in some countries that, in combination with other political/military agendas, could result in unintended consequences rearing their head in less-than-pleasant ways. Israel is pushing for the European Union (EU) to approve the construction of a pipeline running from the Middle Eastern country to supply Cyprus, Greece and Italy with natural gas. The proposed EastMed pipeline will carry gas from the Tamar and Leviathan gas fields located in the Mediterranean Sea, to Southern Europe. As the Times of Israel reported in an article titled, Israel pitches “massive� natural pipeline to Europe:

“Israel has proposed that EU countries invest in a multi-billion euro pipeline to carry its natural gas to the continent, noting that the supply from Israel would reduce Europe�s current dependence on natural gas from Russia� The project would require a multi-billion euro investment from Europe to build a pipeline from Israel�s Mediterranean cost to Cyprus, from where the gas would be carried on to Greece and Italy.�

The West is lacking options with regards to reducing dependence on Russian gas in the foreseeable future and is desperately (and unsuccessfully) trying to find alternatives. Israel announced on Sunday the discovery of a major offshore gas field, the third to be located in its waters in the past five years, augmenting its newly acquired status as an energy power.

The new field, some 90 miles off Israel�s coast in the eastern Mediterranean, holds at least 3.2 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas, according to a 3D seismic survey.

Two larger fields, discovered in 2009 and 2010, have combined reserves of at least 33 trillion cubic feet. These fields are expected to serve the bulk of Israel�s gas needs for the coming century. Experts say that further exploration will likely uncover other sizeable fields in Israel�s deep offshore waters.

Europe gets a third of its gas from Russia, half of it from pipelines across Ukraine. Politicians decided that Russia�s grip on gas supplies to countries in the east of Europe gave the Kremlin an alarming political leverage.

Since then the EU has made some big changes. It pushed through a controversial but effective liberalisation of the gas market, known as the Third Energy Package: Russia cannot now both own and control pipelines on EU territory. The EU has has also made the supply system a lot more resilient, putting taxpayers� money into new interconnectors between countries dependent on Russian gas imports. This rewrites the rules. If supplies from the east are interrupted, the countries affected can import gas from elsewhere....

The tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting has generated a huge amount of traffic to this site, not surprisingly, as Christian people are looking for answers in response to the issue of gun control and the Second Amendment. The predictable response to the tragedy is an overarching push by radical, far-Left elements in society and government to ram through draconian gun control and registration schemes, to even calls to repeal the Second Amendment.

The times are not unlike the Clinton era and the run-up to the Millennium. Y2K hysteria was rampant and countless alarmists and fear hustlers had many whipped into a state of irrational worry. I remember it well and was fortunate to be involved in aiding a much needed counter to the extremes of those times. Self-defense and Second Amendment issues were one subject I was involved in.

The reason why this site has seen such a resurgence in search engine generated traffic? Many of the resources generated during those radical times during the Clinton years still remain on this site and are turning up in search engine results. Questions like "a Christian response to gun control," "a biblical perspective towards gun control," and, "biblical basis for gun ownership." Serious minded Evangelical Christians are obviously out looking for credible answers to these questions from valid informational sources. My friends and I are honored to once again be equipped to answer the call.

In recent weeks I have gone back through my Second Amendment area to restore dead research links and update the site to prepare for current trends. As the Spirit-filled, Book of Acts Church in America is engaged in their clear latter days mission and purpose—the heralding of the Gospel to this nation and world—it is imperative we do all we can to maintain Americas unique heritage and identity as the adversary seeks to muzzle and hobble that. Let me share with you some things, for history's sake, for those of you from outside this area and stop by here regularly. I have had a link to Harvest Christian Fellowship and their Crusade site on my front page since the late 90's. The upcoming 2011 Harvest Crusade's schedule, now in their 21st year, brought back some memories for me, memories from back in the early 1980's.

The standard Harvest Crusade history published by the church usually states that the first crusade outreach was at the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa, California, in 1990. "Officially," yes. But that wasn't where it all really started. The seeds for this were initially planted many years previously.

I recently had opportunity to talk with a few people who were involved with this ministry in the late 70's. They reminisced about the very early years of this church and evangelical events they were involved in, including Hawaii. But most agreed the first notable events were when Pastor Greg Laurie and senior staff at that time took the initiative to engage in a more overt outreach to the local community here in Riverside and put together summer musical/evangelical events at Anza Narrows Park down the street from the church.... Both are high-profile converts to Christianity, live in the United States, and well-known as speakers in Evangelical Christian forums. I have heard them both speak.

The tumult ensued when Shoebat, writing at PajamasMedia.com, citing largely circumstantial evidence (old video interviews), basically accused the young believer Yousef of being a fraud and "double agent." The requisite sinister picture of Yousef accompanying the article rounded out the solemn tone of Shoebat's article.

It was to be hosted by Murrieta's Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC), in conjunction with the Veritas Evangelical Seminary, which is currently based there.

This lecture was initially a response to the local community's request for Calvary Chapel Bible College and Veritas Evangelical Seminary's position on the mosque that is being proposed by the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley (ICTV) on a piece of land on Nicolas Road near a Baptist church. With the national opposition to the Ground Zero mosque forcefully opposed by a vast majority of Americans, this local issue likewise generated some understandable resistance as well.

Likewise, in the wake of ongoing incidents of domestic terrorism like the attack at Fort Hood (many more stopped short by vigilant Police work), people are justifiably aware, very irritated, and there is a tremendous amount of "push-back" by sensible people against Progressive liberalism's endless blind lecturing on tolerance and religious plurality in the face of reality today. Yet, some Christians have come to accept that anything less than aggressive and violent confrontation with Muslims is "liberalism," "compromise," and weak. This is plain nonsense and these need to dial it down a few notches. Contemporary progressive liberalism is not synonymous with Biblical grace and compassion! In this agitated environment it is the loud and surly who are thus far dominating the discourse.

"Cordoba Center" sounds comfortably Latino and almost familiar in a multi-ethnic city like New York. The name�s Spanish origin has a little bit of history too: the Cordoba Mosque in Spain symbolized a gateway to Muslim conquest of Western Europe - a conquest that today is unfolding in real time. But as disturbing as the sharia invasion of the European Union might be, my concern is the new $100 million mosque that will sit smugly just 600 feet from Ground Zero in New York City.

This new Cordoba Mosque will occupy a building that was literally struck by pieces of an exploding passenger aircraft deliberately piloted into the World Trade Center by martyrs shouting “Allahu Akbar.� The suggestion that this mysteriously funded mosque is anything other than a permanent demonstration of Islam�s march on the West is na�ve at best.

This Cordoba Mosque is not benign. It is not about reconciliation or understanding. It is about marking religious, ideological and territorial conquest. This mosque is a martyr-marker honoring the terrorists who less than a decade ago killed thousands of us just two blocks away, and it must be stopped.

Sarah Palin haters have little to throw against her but third-grader school yard insults and empty ad hominem attacks against her and her family. The vaccuous, empty substance of progressive liberalism continues to be laid bare before society.

Bill Barnstead was an online friend of my associate, Jon Christian Ryter. He recently passed away and Jon has written an excellent obituary for the man. I took the liberty of reposting one of Bill's more notable commentaries on the site. It has to be one of the most concise summations of the recklessness and treachery of elitist Republican decision making, offered in the wake of the GOP decline.

In my interpretation, a "Conservative" is someone who seeks to conserve the values and ethics which many of the older generation � those which built this country � held, and do hold dear. Bill Barnstead was one of those older generation whose lives and worldview I personally continue to uphold and study.

The Domestic Extremism Lexicon

My recent letter to the local paper:

While the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) threat analysis on "right-wing extremism" and slander of military veterans has been in the headlines, a lesser known document entitled "Domestic Extremism Lexicon" was also released, and not surprisingly at this point, also recalled by DHS. The document details terminology, one assumes, law enforcement is to be on the lookout for in incidental contact with "extremists."

Although this document was more broad brush in its assault on political thought, the inclusion of the "alternative media" was especially troubling. With the downward spiral of the main stream media into superficiality and propaganda, devoid of impartiality and objectivity, people have had no choice but to turn to the alternative media over the last decade to hold government accountable. Thus, the government monopoly on information has been overthrown.

So First Amendment protected bloggers like Michelle Malkin, Noam Chomsky; web sites like Democrat Underground and Free Republic are now ascribed sinister motives? Is anyone with a clue in charge now at DHS?

At the least, this should wake up the Left to the ideological bent of the Napolitano DHS. At the most, with the collapse of the Republican GOP as a viable bulwark against big government, George Orwell may still be vindicated by his classic "1984," as Big Brother is realized � incredibly � in the American experience.

New Rule: neomercantilists, neoconservatives, and statists are no longer allowed to call themselves "free marketers." People who call themselves free marketers such as Bush, Paulson, Greenspan, and Bernanke are the primary threat capitalism faces. These false prophets of capitalism are the greatest friends that proponents of socialism have.

Many prominent American figures claim to be proponents of free markets but in practice advocate neomercantilist, corporate welfare policies. These policies eventually, and unsurprisingly, lead to disastrous economic and social consequences. These catastrophes are then blamed on capitalism, free markets, and deregulation, at which point, socialists are easily able to convince the distraught public that capitalism is a failed experiment and only massive government intervention in the markets can save them. Such is the way that capitalism dies, eaten away by a cancer from within.

Well, that didn�t end too well.

There have been a few excellent commentaries from Conservative writers in the nascent post-Bush era; a few because of the many already lacking in any productive self-critiquing of the last eight years. Bush went from the highest in recorded Presidential history post-9/11, to some of the lowest in Gallup poll history, competing with Nixon and Truman in the low 20�s when they left office. The Republican Party went from unprecedented control of the House of Representatives, the Senate and the White House, at the beginning of the Millennium, to a complete rout in 2008, with losses on the state and local level.

What happened? Let's exercise a little long lost objectivity, braving the inevitable accusation of "Bush Hater," and review the more notable highlights of the last eight years....

The California wildfires, which are slowly being brought under control as I write this, began on October 20, two days after Secretary of State Rice completed a four-day visit to the Middle East.

Bush and Rice are squeezing Israel into making more concessions to please the Palestinian Arabs so that they will go to Annapolis next month.

There the plans are meant to be formulated that will lead to the uprooting of tens of thousands of Jews from their Judean and Samarian homes, the destruction of their property, and the final and irreversible handing over of that territory to the murderous and antisemitic PLO.

As Washington pushes, California burns, and a million Americans have had to flee their homes.

For the Bible believer who takes God at His Word when He promises to deal severely with the nations that hurt His people, it�s legitimate to ask:

Has God allowed the fires that have burned up 700 square miles of American land as a warning to the Bush administration to stop pushing Israel towards a peace that can bring no peace?

And if Rice goes ahead, turns the screws and forces Israel to the negotiating table in Maryland, will something even more devastating come upon the United States?

I am terribly afraid that it will.

U.S. Policy Toward Iran and Russia

After September 11, Bush explained that the attacks showed that the friend of your enemy is also your enemy. As he put it last September, “America makes no distinction between those who commit acts of terror, and those that harbor and support them, because they�re equally guilty of murder.�

Bush failed to note the converse of that reality: the enemy of your enemy is not necessarily your friend and ally. Here the distinction generally relates to Sunnis and Shiites. We fail to grasp that just because Shiites and Sunnis are rivals don�t mean that they will join forces with the U.S. to fight one another, or won�t join forces with one another to fight the U.S. to accomplish their goal of establishing the Islamic kingdom of God and return the caliphate. This and the failure to recognize the goals of Russia have and will continue to cause the Americans no end of difficulty. We also fail to recognize that that these forces have also joined with the Leftists.

There is an Arab saying to the effect that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.� While this may be the standard for many countries in the Middle East, it is not the standard by which a democratic nation like the United States can afford to operate.

Equally important is to recognize that Russia and China are also linked with mutual interests � world domination and that Russia is neither the friend of the EU or the U.S.

It was fascinating because, although he promotes ideas to defeat Islamic totalitarianism founded in a WWII era American militray culture which crushed Japan and smashed the Weirmacht into junk, the fact that American culture today is vastly different than during the 40' a 50's is not addressed.

Specifically, The Objectivist is anti-faith because of their secular humanist foundation. Yet the fact that America's Judeo/Christian culture and heritage had not been severely undermined, as today, as well as the crippling effects of multi-culturalism and other decidedly un-American trends over the years, guarntees American failure in the was against Islamic terror.

The moral relativism rampant in American culture today because Christianity continues to be marginalized by organizations like The Objectivist provides the moral vacuum for Islam to spread as a "fith column" in American culture, and treason from within.
