How Russia Is Preparing for World War III

[Editor's Note: The writer's words of warning against the Western world's hubris in their dealings with Russia should be listened to. Sadly they will not. Putin's Russia, in league with both Iran and China, are a gathering threat to America's hegemony. The big showdown will be in the Middle East, very soon.]

Look at this from the Russian point of view.

The Russians all see that the US power is on the decline and that the dollar will, sooner or later, gradually or suddenly, lose its role as the main reserve and exchange currency on the planet (this process has already begun). Simply put unless the US finds a way to dramatically change the current international dynamic the AngloZionist Empire will collapse. The Russians believe that what the Americans are doing is, at best, to use tensions with Russia to revive a dormant Cold War v2 and, at worst, to actually start a real shooting war in Europe.

So a declining Empire with a vital need for a major crisis, a spineless Western Europe unable to stand up for its own interest, a subservient Eastern Europe just begging to turn into a massive battlefield between East and West, and a messianic, rabidly russophobic rhetoric as the background for an increase in military deployments on the Russian border. Is anybody really surprised that the Russians are taking all this very, very serious even if right now the military threat is basically non-existent?
Saudis lose US clout over oil price war.

[Editor's Note: People don't realize how over the last few years, the very trajectory of human history has changed. I appreciate this writer's sense of importance and urgency. Global energy and finance has put us on a track that will drive us into some of the most momentous times in world history.]

In an event that went largely unnoticed, we have, in fact, passed the point in human history where OPEC's key member Saudi Arabia can dictate oil prices any longer. No one seems to have taken in the momentous occasion if not comprehended its historical significance. Much hasn't been said or written, it has to be added.

Long time readers of oil-price.net will recall how as early as 2012 we had not only predicted the takeover of the entire region by ISIS, but also anticipated in 2013 that a surge in oil price volatility was on its way. In addition, we carried a comprehensive analysis, just weeks before the oil price collapsed.

Today we are at a similar turning point of a major milestone clustered with many defining clauses. Consequently, there are some drastic geopolitical implications for all nations from the producers of the Middle East to western democracies; from consumers in Asia to Europe. The world is about to change. Here's how.

The Fascinating Story Of How The Petrodollar Was Born And Lived In Secrecy For Over 40 Years

[Editor's Note: As previously noted, Ezekial 38-39 will be economically driven, with Russia and Iran and a coalition of Islamic states marinated in hatred of Israel, invading the Middle East. This article details more contemporary economic and energy realities, although the idea that the existence of the petrol dollar being "secret" a bit of a stretch. This is common knowledge. What I found interesting was the comments section as the regulars over at Zero Hedge discuss current events.

More evidence of the impending clash between the West and a resurgent Far East...]

"For decades, the story of Saudi Arabia recycling petrodollars, i.e., funding the US deficit by buying US Treasuries with proceeds of its crude oil sales (mostly to the US), while the US sweetened the deal by providing the Saudis with military equipment and supplies, remained entirely in the conspiracy realm, with no confirmation or official statement from the US Treasury department.

Now, that particular "theory" becomes the latest fact, thanks to a fascinating story by Bloomberg which gives the background and details of secret meeting between then-US Treasury secretary William Simon and his deputy, Gerry Parsky, and members of the Saudi ruling elite, and lays out the history of how the petrodollar was born.

Here is the background..." [Read more...]

DE-DOLLARIZATION ACCELERATES AS RUSSIA NEARS LAUNCH OF RUBLE-PRICED OlL TRADING PLATFORM..Jim Sinclair called this an economic Nuke in 2014

It appears Russia is close to taking the next big step towards de-dollarization and killing the petro-dollar as VladimirPutins “dream of ruble-based pricing of its domestically-produced oil is on the verge of realization. SPIMEX (The St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange) is actively courting international oil traders to join its emerging futures market, which as Bloomberg reports, is designed “to create a system where Russian oil is priced and traded in a fair and straightforward way.

Step-by-step Russia, China and other emerging economies are taking measures to reduce their dependence on the US dollar, and as SputnikNews detailed, F. William Engdahl warns referring to Russias crude oil benchmark initiative this move could deal a dramatic blow to the “petrodollars dominance....

Energy Wars of Attrition

An Oil Glut Unleashes “World-Class Havoc

In the meantime, there can be no question that the war of attrition is beginning to take its toll. In addition to hard-hit Arctic and North Sea producers, companies exploiting Albertas Athabasca tar sands are exhibiting all the signs of an oncoming crisis. While most tar sands outfits continue to operate (often at a loss), they are now postponing or cancelling future projects, while the space between the future and the present shrinks ominously.

Just about every firm in the oil business is being hurt by the new price norms, but hardest struck have been those that rely on “unconventional means of extraction like Brazilian deep-sea drilling, U.S. hydro-fracking, and Canadian tar sands exploitation. Such techniques were developed by the major companies to compensate for an expected long-term decline in conventional oil fields (those close to the surface, close to shore, and in permeable rock formations). By definition, unconventional or “tough oil requires more effort to pry out of the ground and so costs more to exploit. The break-even point for tar sands production, for example, sometimes reaches $80 per barrel, for shale oil typically $50 to $60 a barrel. What isnt a serious problem when oil is selling at $100 a barrel or more becomes catastrophic when it languishes in the $30 to $40 range, as it has over much of the past half-year.

BRICS under attack: The empire strikes back In Brazil

Yet, we know the global anti-christ system will be European based, it's Eastern opposition demolished in an Ezekial 38-39 scenario.]

The last decade has seen a remarkable coalescing of non-Western nations in both economic and political partnerships. These multilateral institutions have been championed as alternatives to Western organs of political and economic power such as NATO, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank.

From the growth of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union, China's "One Belt, One Road" strategy to link much of the Eurasian landmass via trade and investment, and most recently the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, many have viewed these developments as essential for the decentralization of global power away from the imperial centers of Washington, Wall Street, London and Brussels.

But perhaps none of the emerging Global South international groupings has been more promising in terms of both public relations and real economic partnership than that of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa).

Japan's Finance Minister Accidentally Reveals How It All Ends: "War"

[Editor's note: The escalation to war continues in the South Chine Sea, between BRICS nation China (the "kings of the East"), and the old order in the West, Japan as a proxy for the U.S..]

While this all started with a currency "war," it seems - according to a stunningly candid transcript of Japan's finance minister's conversation with none other than Paul Krugman - that the real endgame here is actual war. Aso remarked that "a similar [deflationary mindset] had occurred in the US in the 1930s. What solved the question? War! Because World War II had occurred during the 1940s and that became the solution for the United States. [We] have to switch [the Japanese] mindset... we are looking for the trigger."

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been the most hawkishly militaristic PM of a generation, shifting from the passive society to an aggressor, beginning around 2013. This has only been emboldened by rising nationalism and escalatuing tensions in the South China Sea.

We note this by way of background as just-released transcripts of a conversation between Japanese finance minister Aso and Uber-Keynesian Paul Krugman reveal perhaps the reality that Japan faces as its economic and social structure collapses...

That is because they have not been fulfilled yet. The current 2015 global socio/military/economic condition points towards their impending fulfillment. Joel Rosenberg is one who further details these things.

That being true, I prefer to focus on the real world economics driving these global events. These things are all happening now in real time and should remind us of the impending intervention of the living God in human affairs!

Monetary System, World Order Weve Had Since 1940s Are Collapsing: Richard Maybury

US Hegemony Since the 1940s

“The United Nations, NATO, the Bretton Woods monetary system, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund were all created in the 1940s according to blueprints that were approved in Washington, Richard explains.

And this world order may be coming to an end, he believes: “Its the collapse of that structure that was built in the 1940s that is behind all of these problems that are popping up in financial markets and economies around the world (we published a report recently on why many indicators undermine the recovery thesis.
The New Hegemon in the Middle East

[Editor's note: Two nations, Persia and Russia [Gog], rocketing headlong into a collision with Israel and the God of Israel. And the world is asleep to this impending prophetic history happening right before their eyes.]

"There's a new sheriff in town in the Middle East -- and it's not the United States of America, who just spent trillions of dollars and lost thousands of soldiers in two different wars in the region. The new hegemon in the Levant and the Fertile Crescent is a rising axis of Russian, Iranian, and Syrian power.

Beginning with the Iranian Quds Force commander Gen. Qassem Soleimani's trip to Moscow in July 2015 -- where together with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he planned the Russian and Iranian offensive that has preserved the Assad regime until now -- the Russian-Iranian partnership has blossomed in myriad ways.

...

Combined with Iranian influence in Baghdad, the axis of Iran, Russia, and Syria controls territory from Persia all the way to the Levant. It truly is a remarkable turn of events. The speed in which the power vacuum was filled after the withdrawal of most American troops from the region is simply stunning."

How Oil Drives Conflict - Changing energy markets are hurting Russia's global influence.

Since the breakup of the Soviet Union, Russia has used natural gas as a weapon against Ukraine and Europe as a whole. Threatening to shut off the pipes as the weather turns cold is a pretty effective way to influence foreign policy. But now it looks like one of Vladimir Putins key weapons is losing some of its punch.

This week on War College, were looking at how shifts in the production of oil and natural gas are affecting global security, and where that leaves the United States.

The repercussions of this political agreement once that Iranian oil hits the market are going to be the tipping point in a Middle East conflagration that is even now being barely contained.

This is no different than the British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain circus that followed his speech concerning the Munich Agreement and the Anglo-German Declaration.

"Peace in our time."

Anybody who says otherwise in ridiculed as a bigot and a war monger, from Israel to Obamas political opponents in America.

Well, watch what happens next.

India and BRICS are so over the petrodollar

[Editor's note: The undermining of Western monetary hegemony continues apace...]

The last time a country decided to dump the dollar in the oil business, the US destroyed it. Now India, the world's third largest economy, and Iran have agreed to settle their outstanding oil dues in rupees. What's more, the two countries may conduct all future trade in their national currencies.

This follows an agreement between Iran and India in mid-2011 in which both sides decided to settle 45 per cent of India's oil import bill in rupees and the remaining 55 per cent in euros. In March 2012 the two countries inked the Rupee Payment Mechanism that allowed India to buy crude oil in its national currency. Iran then used the funds to buy products from Indian manufacturers.

Ironically, it is the US itself which is responsible for the dollar's elimination from India-Iran trade. The Rupee Payment Mechanism was set up to skirt American economic sanctions on Tehran. Iranian oil forms a significant portion of India's energy requirements. Similarly, the Iranians rely upon India for steel, medicines, food and chemicals.

The world is witnessing the next stage in the war for the Middle East

"We're about to be plunged into a new oil war in the Middle East, this one with a possible nuclear dimension. Wars for control of oil have been instigated for more than a century since the dawn of the petroleum era around the time of the First World War. This war for control of oil, however, promises to be of a scale that will change world politics in a spectacular and highly destructive manner. It is on one level, a Saudi war to redraw the national borders of the infamous Anglo-French Sykes-Picot carve up of the bankrupt Ottoman Turkish Empire of 1916. This war has as its foolish goal bringing the oil fields and pipeline routes of Iraq and Syria, and perhaps more of the region, under direct Saudi control, with Qatar and Erdogan's Turkey as Riyadh's partners in crime. Unfortunately, as in all wars, there will be no winners...."

In his op-ed, published on the site of Russian television network RT, Bridge recalled that "since 2003, Moscow has watched with infinite patience as US-led forces have steadily steamrolled a path of chaos and carnage across a large swath of Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa."

"This year," the analyst writes, "Vladimir Putin drew a line in Syria." ..."

The US has had a hard time trying to predict Moscows moves due to a lack of experts on Russia.

During the Cold War, the US national security machine was staffed with experienced specialists on Russia, who were consulted at the highest levels of decision-making. However, at the present time, it now relies on a "looser regime of more junior experts who lack the reach to directly influence policy," the newspaper points out.

As a result, the US has essentially failed to predict Russias most recent moves. ..."

Oil may fall to $18 amid Saudi-Iran tensions

Oil prices could break below $20 this year as tensions rise between Iran and Saudi Arabia, two of the world's largest oil players, Again Capital founding partner John Kilduff said Monday.

"I think you're going to get as low as $18 and maybe get as high as $48. ... It's going to get really ugly," he told CNBC's "Squawk Box." "The Iranians doubled down again, if that's even possible, by saying that they could put 500,000 more barrels on the market within weeks after the sanctions get lifted."

Kilduff was referring to the anticipated lifting of sanctions related to Iran's nuclear program, which have locked the country out of international oil markets. ...

Why the OPEC price war will rage on

<IMG SRC="http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r73/salem21_2006/Oil%20War_zps6ewujide.jpg" width="195"height="140" align="left">
"...Many people ask me, “Why doesnt Saudi Arabia cut production to help boost prices?

I almost always pause, knowing there isnt a quick black-and-white answer.

So hedging my knowledge, I reply, “While anything is possible, the likelihood of a cut occurring is slim.

November 27th marks the one year anniversary since Saudi Arabia made the watershed decision to pivot from protecting oil price to maximizing market share. In a matter of weeks the members of the cartel will meet again, to ponder if they should stay the course on the decision made last year, or intervene in what is proving to be the greatest oil market downturn in decades."

Like Saudi Arabia Iran has suffered in the market place but now as sanctions are eased the country is preparing to up its output. More oil adding to the global glut could outweigh the geopolitical tension.

Putin Just Warned Global War Is Increasingly More Likely: Here's Why

[Editor's Note: A Russian George Bush.]

"I'd like to stress once again that [Russia's operation in Syria] is completely legitimate, and its only aim is to aid in establishing peace," Putin said of Moscows Mid-East strategy. And while hes probably telling the truth there, its only by default. That is, peace in Syria likely means the restoration of Assad (it's difficult to imagine how else the country can be stabilized in the short-term), and because that aligns with Russias interests, The Kremlin is seeking to promote peace - its more a tautology than it is a comment on Putins desire for goodwill towards men.

And then theres Iran and its nascent nuclear program. Putin accused the US of illegitimately seeking to play nuclear police officer, a point on which he is unquestionably correct: The "hypothetical nuclear threat from Iran is a myth. The US was just trying to destroy the strategical balance, [and] not to just dominate, but be able to dictate its will to everyone not only geopolitical opponents, but also allies."

Speaking of nukes, Putin also warned that some nuclear powers seem to believe that theres a way to take the “mutually out of “mutually assured destruction.

The Russian Navy Has Awakened From Its Slumber

[Editor's Note: I remember people at FreeRepublic.com deriding the Russian Navy back in the late 90's as a credible threat. It was stupid of them. Deep down people who understood Ezekial 38-39 knew Russia was going to be back as a military power, but this world is blind and shortsighted, and God's word will stand.]

After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 the Office of Naval Intelligence stopped publishing its annual report on the Russian fleet. This was due to the fact that the Russian fleet quickly fell into disarray due to lack funding. It no longer posed the same sort of threat it did during the cold war.

For the first time in years, the US Naval intelligence branch has now felt it was time to put the Russian navy back on the radar and has published its report detailing the aggressive rearming of the Russian Navy.

This currently includes 56 submarines, 31 major surface ships and 99 minor surface vessels with an additional seven new warships and two submarines scheduled to enter service in 2016....

Interesting stuff today. A major Russian TV channel just aired a report about Putin meeting with his top military commanders. I dont have the time to translate what Putin said word for word, but basically he said that the USA had refused every single Russian offer to negotiate about the US anti-missile system in Europe and that while the US had initially promised that the real target of this system was Iran, now that the Iranian nuclear issue had been solved, the US was still deploying the system. Putin added that the US was clearly attempting to change the worlds military balance.
[Ed. Note: China will be inevitably drawn into the Middle East morass by economic and energy concerns. Yet, the "kings of the East" and their militaries are described entering the arena by land - never by sea. Here is another news source detailing the building of overland routes to that end.]

"The strategy behind the Belt and Road Initiative is to diversify transit lines, thereby mitigating China's vulnerability to external economic disruption and reinvigorating China's slowing economy. Ideally, China would like to link its inland cities to global markets with a diversified network of transit routes and energy pipelines, many of which would take inland routes and serve as alternatives to existing sea-lanes," the Stratfor report stated.

Since China's economy is heavily reliant on foreign trade and energy supplies through the country's "vulnerable" sea routes, it would be "relatively easy" for a potential adversary to disrupt China's trade and block the country.

"US war planners have certainly not ignored China's geographic vulnerability... In the case of a war between the United States and China, many US strategists favor imposing a distant blockade of Chinese waters," the analysts pointed out.

Russia unveils new national payment card Mir

"The Russian authorities have presented a prototype plastic card for the countrys new national payment system; 10 banks have already shown interest. According to experts, the promotion of the new card will take several years, but the process can be accelerated by the mandatory switching of state-owned corporations to the new card.

...

The issue of the payment card is part of a large-scale program to create an autonomous financial system in Russia, launched as a countermeasure to the sanctions imposed against Russia by the U.S. over Moscows role in the Ukrainian crisis, which resulted in international payment systems Visa and Mastercard ceasing to process card payments for customers of several Russian banks in March 2014...."

The Two Contending Visions Of World Government

"U.S. President Barack Obamas proposed Trade deals are actually about whether the world is heading toward a dictatorial world government a dictatorship by the hundred or so global super-rich who hold the controlling blocks of stock in the worlds largest international corporations or else toward a democratic world government, which will be a global federation of free and independent states, much like the United States was at its founding, but global in extent. These are two opposite visions of world government; and Obama is clearly on the side of fascism, an international mega-corporate dictatorship, as will be documented here in the links, and explained in the discussion.

Also as a preliminary to the discussion here is the understanding that if Obama wins Fast Track Trade Promotion Authority, then all of his trade deals will be approved by Congress and then be able to be considered seriously by other governments, and that if he fails to receive this Authority, then none of them will.

“Fast Track, as will be explained in depth here, is, indeed, the “open Sesame for Obama, on the entire matter. Without it, his deals dont stand even a chance of passage...."

ISIS's Latest Weapon: Damming the Euphrates

<IMG SRC="http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r73/salem21_2006/Ramadi_Barrage_South_zps3pp8sieq.jpg" WIDTH="266"HEIGHT="200" ALIGN="left">And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. Revelation 16:12 KJV

An interesting wrinkle in the news for those who understand how China will inevitably be drawn into the Middle East conflict on energy concerns. ISIS stopping up the Euphrates in Ramadi is just a dry run for a future land incursion (not naval, as China is a long way off from projecting power on the seas) by the "Kings of the East."

Not a great technical feat, but certainly hails back to the time of the fall of Babylon of the taking of the city city by Cyrus the Persian. The Drying Up Of Euphrates, Spiritually Understood.

Islamic Economics and the Final Jihad: The Muslim Brotherhood to the Leftist/Marxist - Islamist Alliance

I wrote a review for this book back in 2007. I lost contact with the author after Obama's first election victory. David J. Jonsson's article are posted at my America At War site.

It is incredible seeing now, eight years later, how much of what he was foretelling has come to pass. I recommend it for an understanding of the massive scope of events roiling the world now, especially energy markets and the currency wars taking place today.

He quotes, "The United States cannot allow a China-Russia-Iran triad to monopolize Central Asia and the Middle East. If the SCO does mature as a competing body to the European Union and NATO, it could signify a dramatic shift in the current geo-strategic balance of power that currently favors Washington...."

Which is why, today in 2015, world war is coming. Understanding that is key to understanding the impending fulfillment of Ezekial 38-39 and why proponenets of a new "multi-polar" global reality with a new international reserve currency, boasting the demise of the "petro-dollar," are in for an incredible disappointment.

Russia and Iran lose.

War Threat Rises As Economy Declines Paul Craig Roberts

"...On the economic scene the dollar as reserve currency is a problem for the entire world. Sanctions and other forms of American financial imperialism are causing countries, including very large ones, to leave the dollar payments system. As foreign trade is increasingly conducted without recourse to the US dollar, the demand for dollars drops, but the supply has been greatly expanded as a result of Quantitative Easing. Because of offshored production and US dependence on imports, a drop in the dollars exchange value would result in domestic inflation, further lowering US living standards and threatening the rigged, stock, bond, and precious metal markets.

...

The evidence is clear that there has been no economic recovery. With the first quarter GDP negative and the second quarter likely to be negative as well, the second-leg of the long downturn could begin this summer...."

Erdogan Of Turkey Just Gave A Speech Asking His People To Elect His Party Because He Aims To Invade Jerusalem

[Note: Energy related in the fact Turkey is a major factor in oil and gas conflicts in the Middle East region.]

“Unfortunately we the Muslims lost our aim to head towards Jerusalem. The water of our eyes froze making us blind, and our hearts that was destined to beat for Jerusalem is now instead conditioned for rivalry being in a state of war with each other.

Erdogans desire to end strife and unite Sunnis and Shiites to aim towards Jerusalem was made in the state of Erzincan, central Turkey, in which he expressed his desire for the place to become suitable for Al-Isra Wal-Miraj (Muhammads ascension to heaven and descent to Jerusalem) where he claimed is the cause of goodness: “descending from heaven over all Muslim nations.

Turkish president called on citizens to “raise their hands in supplication for this blessed night towards Allah to restore the Al-Aqsa Mosque [Jerusalem] to be re-owned by Muslims, and to remove the mist from their eyes, to see Jerusalem in their hands at every moment and at every opportunity.

Is Russia Preparing for War?

Putin genuinely believes that the Russian army is the best in the world, and to that end he is spending vast amounts of money. Their economy does not have a militarization upgrading existing infrastructure and active military campaigns (such as Crimea and Ukraine). Indeed, Russia has just completed an upgraded state of the art command and control centre underneath Moscow at an estimated cost of billions of U.S. dollars.

All this is quite literally killing the Russian economy.

There is historical precedent for what Russia is doing. In 1939, Europe wrongly believed that Adolf Hitler was an economic genius. Within just six short years Hitler had transformed the German economy and reduced the number of unemployed from 6 million to a little under half a million German men. Germany had been transformed by an economic miracle.

The Next War In The Middle East Has Been Foretold

And the main driver behind it will be economics. Specifically, energy.

Whether anyone likes it or not, fulfilled Bible prophecy is proof in the face of a rebellious and evil world there is a living God - and we are accountable to Him. Two ancient prophecies have yet to be fulfilled in the "latter days." The destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17), and the Ezekial 38-39 invasion of the coalition listed there.

Like the modern day rebirth of Israel (Ezekial 37) that is tangible, temporal, and fulfilled before our faces, the invasion of Israel - WWIII - will pave the way for the rise of a new world order. The global kingdom of the anti-christ. This IS going to come to pass.

Although the terror of radical Islam will be a major driver behind this coming invasion, economics and energy will be the PRIMARY driver for the invasion.

"...Art thou come to take a spoil?..." (Ezekiel 38:13)

The precursors to all of this is taking place before our eyes. This is front page news to anybody with "eyes to see..." The collapse of the global oil markets in June of 2014 - no matter the myriad reasons - has started a chain of events that is inevitable.

This invasion will also take the rest of the world by surprise.

We need to be ready.

Why Were Drifting Towards World War 3

[Note: The Ezekial 38-39 war will be WWIII. It is fascinating watching the impetus behind that impending conflict as the world powers jockey for position on the track before the big car wreck]

Competition for Resources Is Heating Up

In addition, it is well-established that competition for scarce resources often leads to war. For example, Oxford Universitys Quarterly Journal of Economics notes:

In his classic, A Study of War, Wright (1942) devotes a chapter to the relationship between war and resources. Another classic reference, Statistics of Deadly Quarrels by Richardson (1960),extensively discusses economic causes of war, including the control of “sources of essential commodities.A large literature pioneered by Homer-Dixon (1991, 1999) argues that scarcity of various environmental resources is a major cause of conflict and resource wars (see Toset, Gleditsch, and Hegre 2000, for empirical evidence).

    ***

In the War of the Pacific (18791884), Chile fought against a defensive alliance of Bolivia and Peru for the control of guano [i.e. bird poop] mineral deposits. The war was precipitated by the rise in the value of the deposits due to their extensive use in agriculture.

    ***

Westing (1986) argues that many of the wars in the twentieth century had an important resource dimension. As examples he cites the Algerian War of Independence (19541962), the Six Day War (1967), and the Chaco War (19321935). More recently, Saddam Husseins invasion of Kuwait in 1990 was a result of the dispute over the Rumaila oil field. In Resource Wars (2001), Klare argues that following the end of the Cold War, control of valuable natural resources has become increasingly important, and these resources will become a primary motivation for wars in the future.

Blowback as National Policy

Most Americans would be surprised by the schoolbooks printed in the United States, at government expense, that encouraged, in very graphic terms, young Afghan Muslims to kill Russian soldiers in the name of jihad. The United States incited fanaticism against the military intrusion by a foreign power (the Soviets) when they intervened in Afghanistan in 1979, only to be dumbfounded when those same passions were directed at the United States after it intervened in Iraq and increased its permanent military presence after 1990.

How Putin Can Win The Economic War Against The West

"What are the objectives of the global economic war against Russia? Will the West disconnect Russia from SWIFT? Will Europe and the USA impose more sanctions on Russia? What's happening to the oil prices? Will Syrian President Bashar Assad surrender? Pravda.Ru asked these and other questions in an interview with Ron Holland, author of many best-selling books.

It has been a year since the US economic war against Russia began by the West. Which objectives have been set and have they been achieved?"....

China Is the New Power Broker in the Persian Gulf

[Note: The Kings Of The East: The Oriental Confederacy - China specifically, are listed in endtimes prophecy. The biggest driver of their intervention in the Middle East? Oil and gas, energy of course. Like every other nation being drawn into the latter days conflicts surrounding Israel and Jerusalem.]

For much of its history, China has made a point of steering clear of other countries internal affairs. But that changed late last year, when the Middle Kingdom entered into the international arena in a way it hadnt before, offering both money and military might to fight the terrors of the Islamic State. More than Chinas typical muscle flexing, these actionslike much of the countrys foreign policy in the past decadecan be traced back to a growing trend: an urgent and gluttonous appetite for imported energy, specifically oil.

This raises one of the big, looming questions that will help define relations between Washington and Beijing in the decades to come: As the shape of Chinas energy addiction starts to resemble that of the United States, will Chinas global role follow suit?

The myth of Russias energy strength

Vladimir Putin claims to lead an oil and gas superpower. But the West's concerns about being held hostage by its energy needs are groundless.

The idea that Russia could achieve a strategic advantage over its neighbours through its energy resources is well known. After the start of the conflict in Ukraine last year, western media and energy experts suggested that Russia could use its energy power as part of its hybrid war. It is therefore worth looking closely at what is real and what is false in the Kremlins capabilities in the oil and gas sector.

Oil Prices Crashing, Putins Russia Rising

Let me be clear, when I refer to the “people I do not mean the average every day Russian who could care less (and probably doesnt even know) the daily goings on of their government, but I am referring to the people who keep Putin in power, his large inner circle of “friends who keep him in power as long as he keeps stuffing their pockets (not to mention that Putin has cut all government worker salaries by 10%).

Federal statistics agency Rosstat crunched the financial results of Russian enterprises for January and found 33,800 profitable organizations with combined earnings of 1.6 trillion rubles and 19,100 loss-making entities with joint losses of nearly 1.9 trillion rubles.

...

Russian economic growth has stalled under the weight of Western sanctions on Moscow and a sharp fall in the price of Russian export oil, and the disappearance of company profits threatens to shrink government tax revenue and increase defaults on bank loans.

History Suggests OPEC's Days Could Be Numbered

[Note: Some analysts are saying a nuclear deal between the Iranian regime and the Obama administration would open the door for Iran to produce more oil. This would be in direct competition with Saudi Arabia's current geo-political/production campaign - to increase their market share and weaken Russia and Iran. Interesting that talks between Israel and Saudi Arabia to use their air space to engage in a strike on the Iranian nuclear program have been alluded to.]

Could lower oil prices be the end of OPEC?

As OPEC 's refusal to curb oil production contributes to a nine-month plunge in prices, a new paper suggests the group's days may be numbered.

OPEC, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, has vowed to defend its market share against higher-cost producers such as U.S. shale drillers and companies developing Canada's oil sands. Its strategy hinges on the odds that an extended period of low prices will lead other producers to scale back output, enabling the group to reassert its influence. OPEC supplies about 40 percent of the world's crude.

Oil Crash Is Crushing Russia

...Russia doesn't just need petroleum to fuel its tanks and planes, but to pay for them as well. Because oil and gas revenues comprise half the federal budget, defense spending is tethered to energy prices.

The slump comes at a particularly inopportune time for the military. Even if its resources were not being consumed in eastern Ukraine, Russia's ongoing initiative to improve its armed forces is extremely costly, with defense expenditures set to soar 44 percent from 2013 to 2016.

Shrinking energy revenues are now curtailing those ambitions by constraining the budget. According to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, the crash will deprive the Kremlin of $180 billion in 2015 alone.

Despite this shortfall, the Finance Ministry's official stance is to leave military allocations untouched, choosing instead to decimate funding for every other sector. Siluanov himself has admitted that something must change. "When we were adopting the defense program, the forecasts for the economy and budget revenues were completely different," he said. "Right now, we just cannot afford it."

Barclays Says Russia Sliding Into 'Deep' Recession

Russia is heading into a “deep recession, Barclays Capital analysts warned Wednesday after returning from a week long trip to Moscow.

Short-term issues include significantly lower oil prices than what the government budgeted for, and geopolitical tensions with Ukraine that have led to sanctions. The sanctions affect the economy through a higher cost of capital as companies can no longer tap European banks for low interest rates. Sanctions have also temporarily shut down joint ventures with oil companies, most notably a $720 million Exxon-Rosneft venture in the Kara Sea. As a result, potential GDP growth is now estimated at about 1.5%. Thats potential. Thats if all things were firing on all four cylinders in Russia, which they are not.

How Much More Economic Pain Can Vladimir Putin Take?

On top of that, Russian retail sales are falling for the first time since the financial crisis, and real wages are declining faster than they have since Putin came to power in 1999. Russia is clearly heading for a recession. The question is how bad it gets. Most banks are forecasting that Russian gross domestic product will shrink by just a few percentage points this year. The World Bank, for instance, estimates Russias economy will contract by just 1.5 percent in 2015. But that assumes an average oil price of $70 a barrel$10 higher than the current price for international crude.

Yes, those grim forecasts were made two months ago. But with crude production still booming in the U.S. and demand sluggish around the world, it seems like cheap oil is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Thats why some analysts are starting to think Russia could be on the brink of a much bigger economic disaster. Anders Aslund, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, believes Russias economy could contract by 10 percent in 2015. That would mark the worst annual decline since the country defaulted on its debt in 1998.

Sixty-one years ago on an island in the South Pacific, scientists and military officers, fishermen and Marshall Islands natives observed first-hand what Armageddon would be like.

And it almost killed them all. The Atomic Energy Commission code-named the nuclear test Castle Bravo.

The March 1, 1954 experiment was the first thermonuclear explosion based on practical technology that would lead to a deliverable H-bomb for the Air Forces Strategic Air Commandpart of the Operation Castle series of tests needed to manufacture the high-yield weapons.

Hezbollahs role was to serve as Irans deterrent against an Israeli attack on Iranian nukes--and Irans second-strike capability in case an attack came.

But those days are gone, because Iran is directly present east of the Israeli-Syrian border. And any notion that the United States would somehow deter, object to, or prevent such an expansion of Irans regional role is also gone. In fact, President Obama appears to take a benign view of Irans actions in Iraq and Syria: if the United States and Iran are not collaborating, we are at least acting along parallel lines....

A front page story in the New York Times on March 5 summed it up: 'Mr. Obama is becoming increasingly dependent on Iranian fighters as he tries to contain the Islamic State militant group in Iraq and Syria without committing American ground troops.'"

One of the benefits of this oil crunch was that high prices spurred technological innovation that led to an upheaval in the US energy system over the last decade. New technology has enabled US oil and natural gas production to boom. Not only that, this tech enables energy production to scale industrially -- that's a big change if you understand the implications.

... However, there's other benefits that should be obvious too. Since the US isn't dependent on Middle Eastern energy anymore, US national security policy will be decoupled from Middle Eastern conflicts. Like it or not, this is inevitable.

...Petrodollars became the basis for America domination over the global financial system which resulted in countries being forced to buy dollars in order to get oil on the international market.

However, in recent years, despite Washingtons desire to use whatever means to sustain its position within the international arena, US policies are increasingly faced with opposition. As a result, a growing number of countries are trying to move from the US dollar along with its dependence on the United States, by pursuing a policy of de-dollarization. Three states that are particularly active in this domain are China, Russia and Iran. These countries are trying to achieve de-dollarization at a record pace, along with some European banks and energy companies that are operating within their borders....

This was the first time in the four years of the Syrian conflict that Assad has agreed to relinquish control of any of his armys war sectors and pass it in full to an Iranian commander.

This action has four ominous military and intelligence connotations for Israel:

1. The earlier surmise that Tehrans motive in the combined push for control of the Golan was to entrench Hezbollah forces on the Golan opposite Israeli lines, has now been updated: The Iranian goal is broader and more dangerous; it is to deploy radical Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) units right up against Israels northeastern border with Syria and face to face with the IDF...

...Putin is poised to run through Ukraine like a hot knife through butter. Short of launching ICBMs with nuclear weapons, there is little that NATO can do to counter the Russian takeover of Ukraine.

The 21st century has been widely touted as the Chinese century. That proclamation may be a bit premature. Putin is piling up an impressive string of victories and when the smoke clears from the present crisis, Putin may have established the Russians as the emerging dominant power on the planet.

By losing Ukraine to the Russians and thwarting the EUs attempts at persuading Ukraine into joining the European Union, bad days lie ahead. The IMF, the World Bank, NATO, the Obama Administration and the Petrodollar are about to be dealt a devastating blow.
Low Oil Prices Could Start World War III: Interview With Bob Moriarty

It Is Now Possible to Predict When Putin Will Attack the United States

[Note: Although the title is a little inflammatory, the reader should get a clear picture here how Putin is dismembering NATO. Obama is a schoolboy in comparison to Putin's experienced geo-political chess skills. Oh, and I guarantee you, Turkey will end up leaving NATO. The Bible predicts this.]

Less than one month after Russia signed its $400 billion dollar energy deal with China, on Dec. 1, 2014, the fifth summit of the Turkey-Russia High Level Cooperation Council, culminated with the signing of agreements and an amazing announcement by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin stated that the South Stream pipeline project, which was to carry Russian natural gas to Europe through a conduit running under the Black Sea to Bulgaria and then Austria, had been terminated and the new gas route would run through Turkey. This makes Turkey extremely dependent upon Russia. Turkey is the home of several NATO military facilities including nuclear weapons.

If Russia is to successfully turn Germany and Turkey away from NATO, America would see the breakup of NATO.

Russia wont tolerate the post-Cold War global system dominated by a single leader, Putin said Saturday at a meeting with the Federation of Independent Trade Unions in Sochi.

“That type of world order has never been acceptable for Russia, Putin said. “Maybe someone likes it and wants to live under a pseudo-occupation, but we wont put up with it.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande met the Russian leader for more than five hours Friday to discuss spiraling violence in eastern Ukraine between government forces and Russian-backed separatists. A breakdown of the diplomacy may strain trans-Atlantic unity in dealing with Russia, as Europes consensus on economic sanctions shows signs of fraying.

How Falling Oil Prices Make a Black-Swan Event More Likely

From a country standpoint, the key question is whether you are a net energy importer or user. In the United States, Japan, India, China and most of Europe, we are net energy importers. As such, lower prices will help us spend less. Alas, its a zero-sum game on a global basis because what benefits net importers hurts net exporters, such as Russia, Iran, Venezuela and Mexico.

This, in turn, could lead to higher levels of political unrest in some countries that, in combination with other political/military agendas, could result in unintended consequences rearing their head in less-than-pleasant ways. Said differently, an important risk of low oil prices, one that individuals may not be anticipating, is that the drop may create black swan type events on the geopolitical front.

Israel proposes natural gas pipeline to Southern Europe

[Note: Ezekial 38:10-12 speaks of Gog and Magog coming to "take a spoil" from Israel in the "latter years." As Israel will now being competing directly with Russia in the energy markets of Eastern Europe, it is easy to see the inevitable conflict]

Israel is pushing for the European Union (EU) to approve the construction of a pipeline running from the Middle Eastern country to supply Cyprus, Greece and Italy with natural gas. The proposed EastMed pipeline will carry gas from the Tamar and Leviathan gas fields located in the Mediterranean Sea, to Southern Europe. As the Times of Israel reported in an article titled, Israel pitches “massive natural pipeline to Europe:

“Israel has proposed that EU countries invest in a multi-billion euro pipeline to carry its natural gas to the continent, noting that the supply from Israel would reduce Europes current dependence on natural gas from Russia The project would require a multi-billion euro investment from Europe to build a pipeline from Israels Mediterranean cost to Cyprus, from where the gas would be carried on to Greece and Italy.

...

The West is lacking options with regards to reducing dependence on Russian gas in the foreseeable future and is desperately (and unsuccessfully) trying to find alternatives. Gazprom supplied Europe with a whopping 161.5 billion cubic meters of gas in 2013, whichgives the government in Moscow important leverage over many European nations due to their dependence on Russian energy....

Israel Just Found Another Massive Offshore Gas Field

Israel announced on Sunday the discovery of a major offshore gas field, the third to be located in its waters in the past five years, augmenting its newly acquired status as an energy power.

The new field, some 90 miles off Israels coast in the eastern Mediterranean, holds at least 3.2 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas, according to a 3D seismic survey.

Two larger fields, discovered in 2009 and 2010, have combined reserves of at least 33 trillion cubic feet. These fields are expected to serve the bulk of Israels gas needs for the coming century. Experts say that further exploration will likely uncover other sizeable fields in Israels deep offshore waters.

Irans Resilience

"...Oil prices affect Iran in the short, medium, and long terms, albeit in different ways. With a budgetary break-even price of $131-36 per barrel, Iran appears to be one of the most vulnerable countries to lower prices. Already, the budget for the fiscal year beginning March 2015, which assumed an export oil price of $72 per barrel, is out of date with Brent crude oil now trading around $50 per barrel....

...Now with cheap oil available elsewhere, Irans attractiveness to customers willing to brave sanctions has diminished. The oil Iran does manage to sell below the radar will fetch lower prices. At the same time, its deposited revenues in accounts in India, China, and elsewhere, which can only be bartered for goods from these respective countries, will buy less. If there is no deal over the nuclear program, Iran faces the prospect of low oil prices exacerbating the slow deterioration of its oil sector, along with continuing economic stagnation."

WASHINGTON Saudi Arabia is extending its own international jihad not only through its export of Wahhabism, an extreme form of Sunni Islam.

The Islamic kingdom is now going after Russia, a main backer of the kingdoms sectarian opponent, Shiite Iran, by targeting its oil production clout to adversely impact the Russian economy.

Sources say the United States might even be colluding with Saudi Arabia to cause a dramatic drop in the international oil price in an effort to punish Russia not only for its support of rebels in Ukraine but for its backing of embattled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as well as Iran.

The Saudi strategy is to flood the international market to harm the economies of Russia and Iran, both of which need the international price to be above $100 a barrel to break even. The price of oil today is less than $50 a barrel....

Contours of the Oil War - Salman Rafi Sheikh

Saudi Arabias oil minister Ali al-Naimi is reported to have said that the falling oil prices would help stabilize global economy and stimulate economic growth. Where his comments reinforce the OPECs decision to maintain oil production at 30 million barrels per day, there he is also indirectly alluding to the crucial link between economy and resourcesOil, in this case, and the damage the latter can do to the former if manipulated in a particularly designed way. Notwithstanding the rhetoric of Saudi Arabia, the fall in oil prices has, unfortunately, nothing positive to contribute to global economy; rather, it is as much related to regional and global geo-political maneuvering as to a war, waged on full scale, albeit using different weapons and accordingly different tactics.

Saudi Arabia has, with the help of its regional cronies, managed to create such a situation whereby it can fight the otherwise lost battle for “Sunni hegemony in the Middle East and beyond, and at the same time, help its Western allies against Russia.

Russia is planning on building nuclear reactors for Iran, even while Moscow works with Western powers on negotiating a deal to curb Iran's nuclear program.

MOSCOW (AP) Russian government officials appealed for calm on Wednesday after predicting budget cuts and a further surge in inflation as the country faces its worst economic downturn in 15 years.

With the currency and economy wilting under the twin blows of Western sanctions and a fall in the price of oil exports, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov proposed slashing some 10 percent to most areas of the state budget.

That is a significant turnaround for the government of President Vladimir Putin, who only weeks ago told the nation in a televised address that state spending would not be cut.

Why Europe no longer fears the Russian gasman

Europe gets a third of its gas from Russia, half of it from pipelines across Ukraine. Politicians decided that Russias grip on gas supplies to countries in the east of Europe gave the Kremlin an alarming political leverage.

Since then the EU has made some big changes. It pushed through a controversial but effective liberalisation of the gas market, known as the Third Energy Package: Russia cannot now both own and control pipelines on EU territory. The EU has has also made the supply system a lot more resilient, putting taxpayers money into new interconnectors between countries dependent on Russian gas imports. This rewrites the rules. If supplies from the east are interrupted, the countries affected can import gas from elsewhere....
Oil could fall to $20 over the coming year

We are going to see a war soon in the Middle East. Russia and Persia (Iran) will make a radical regional move before they let their economies be ground down into nothing. Both need oil over $100 a barral to stay in the red.

"...If on to a good thing, you might as well stick with it; so for the coming year, I'm doubling up on this forecast. Far from bouncing back to the post crisis "normal" of something over $US100 a barrel, as many oil traders seem to expect, my view is that the oil price will remain low for a long time, sinking to perhaps as little as $US20 a barrel over the coming year before recovering a little..."

Report: Gulf States Fear Iranian Takeover of Yemen

An Arabic-language newspaper in London reported Thursday that pro-Iranian militias in Yemen have tightened their grip on the country to the extent that they have taken over the country's national bank. As a result, Gulf states have withdrawn their support for Yemen, leaving the road open for a full takeover by Iranian-backed groups.
Why Some Jews Will Never Trust Evangelical Christians

First, evangelicals feel an enormous sense of gratitude towards the Jewish people. There is a solid and increasing sense of appreciation for the Jewish foundation of the Christian faith. The Scriptures, the prophets, the Ten Commandments, the Mosaic foundation of Western law, the Jew Jesus, the early Christian leaders, who were all Jewishthese are all an absolute, a byproduct of Jewish fidelity to Jewish identity, which often came at the ultimate price of persecution or martyrdom of the Jews. Evangelical Christians stand in awe and are profoundly grateful that we in the West live in an ethical monotheism that is the result of Jewish faith and perseverance.

Israels fortune is Putins horror

...Heres where Israel enters the picture. Its spectacular offshore gas finds at Tamar (which opened last March) and the much larger Leviathan field now threaten to spoil the caviar. Although the reserves (around 1 trillion cubic meters) are nowhere near as big as Russias, the demands of 8 million Israelis are tiny. So the bulk of future Leviathan development is free to go abroad, most likely in the form of liquified natural gas or LNG which can be shipped anywhere in any quantity without the risk of terrorists cutting a pipeline.

This could be manna from heaven for the gas-starved EU. It certainly promises a political bonus for Israel, by turning the Jewish state from a European pariah into a would-be savior.

The Second Amendment - An Evangelical and Biblical Perspective

The tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting has generated a huge amount of traffic to this site, not surprisingly, as Christian people are looking for answers in response to the issue of gun control and the Second Amendment. The predictable response to the tragedy is an overarching push by radical, far-Left elements in society and government to ram through draconian gun control and registration schemes, to even calls to repeal the Second Amendment.

The times are not unlike the Clinton era and the run-up to the Millennium. Y2K hysteria was rampant and countless alarmists and fear hustlers had many whipped into a state of irrational worry. I remember it well and was fortunate to be involved in aiding a much needed counter to the extremes of those times. Self-defense and Second Amendment issues were one subject I was involved in.

The reason why this site has seen such a resurgence in search engine generated traffic? Many of the resources generated during those radical times during the Clinton years still remain on this site and are turning up in search engine results. Questions like "a Christian response to gun control," "a biblical perspective towards gun control," and, "biblical basis for gun ownership." Serious minded Evangelical Christians are obviously out looking for credible answers to these questions from valid informational sources. My friends and I are honored to once again be equipped to answer the call.

In recent weeks I have gone back through my Second Amendment area to restore dead research links and update the site to prepare for current trends. As the Spirit-filled, Book of Acts Church in America is engaged in their clear latter days mission and purpose—the heralding of the Gospel to this nation and world—it is imperative we do all we can to maintain Americas unique heritage and identity as the adversary seeks to muzzle and hobble that. In these resources, I believe you will find, as I have, more direction today for the way forward. May we have, and move, with a sense of urgency in evangelism, in 2013 and beyond.
SalemTheSoldier.us - Author's Current Global Assessments

As Syria comes further unglued, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated, "We are witnessing what is taking place in Syria where a slaughter of civilians pure and simple is transpiring. We see these horrifying pictures of children and aged people. This slaughter is being perpetrated not only by the government of Syria; Syria is being aided and abetted by Iran and Hezbollah. The world needs to behold the focused axis of evil: Iran-Syria-Hezbollah. The true face of the axis of evil is exposed in all its hideousness."

As Assad and Syria - proxy against the West for Iran, China, and Russia, starts to feel the heat of NATO pressure, Iran and the Revolutionary Guard elements operating in Syria will seek to draw Israel into a wider war in a bid to leverage base Arab anger to save his regime.

If Assad or Hezb'Allah use chemical weapons against the Jewish people, Damascus will be totally destroyed. (Isaiah 17:1)

Meanwhile, here in the U.S. I believe we will see parrallel Islamist inspired terrorist attacks in our citys. Our security services have been pretty good up till now stopping terrorists threats against the homeland since 9/11, but degradation in vigilance since then due to the smothering political correctness throughout our society and and penetration of the current administration by Islamist elements like CAIR and the MSA has left us extremely vulnerable.

It is imperative at this time the Spirit-filled church in America pray for our pastors and teachers, and our leadership in all forms, to be prepared for the times ahead.

The Last Crusade?

Let me share with you some things, for history's sake, for those of you from outside this area and stop by here regularly. I have had a link to Harvest Christian Fellowship and their Crusade site on my front page since the late 90's. The upcoming 2011 Harvest Crusade's schedule, now in their 21st year, brought back some memories for me, memories from back in the early 1980's.

The standard Harvest Crusade history published by the church usually states that the first crusade outreach was at the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa, California, in 1990. "Officially," yes. But that wasn't where it all really started. The seeds for this were initially planted many years previously.

I recently had opportunity to talk with a few people who were involved with this ministry in the late 70's. They reminisced about the very early years of this church and evangelical events they were involved in, including Hawaii. But most agreed the first notable events were when Pastor Greg Laurie and senior staff at that time took the initiative to engage in a more overt outreach to the local community here in Riverside and put together summer musical/evangelical events at Anza Narrows Park down the street from the church.... height="96" ALIGN="left">Did "Son of Hamas" Mosab Hassan Yousef dupe the counter-jihad movement?

Few have missed the online cluster that has ensued between well-known "ex-terrorist" Walid Shoebat and Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of jailed Hamas terrorist leader Sheikh Hassan Yousef. Both are high-profile converts to Christianity, live in the United States, and well-known as speakers in Evangelical Christian forums. I have heard them both speak.

The tumult ensued when Shoebat, writing at PajamasMedia.com, citing largely circumstantial evidence (old video interviews), basically accused the young believer Yousef of being a fraud and "double agent." The requisite sinister picture of Yousef accompanying the article rounded out the solemn tone of Shoebat's article.

This is a .PDF file I recently found on an old computer of mine. It was produced in 2002 by then online friend, Paul J. Tetreault, Jr., Esq. It was originally produced to be printed out as a pamphlet to be handed out. It shows, from the Koran, why in Muslim's minds, killing infidels (unbelievers) is logical and merciful, than shows from the Bible the proper response of Christians to this. An excellent resource!

Unfortunatly, CitizenSoldier.org is now defunct. A little content from the original site can still be found at the Internet Archive (www.Archive.org.)

Since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Iran has actively executed, supported and funded acts of aggression against U.S. and Western interests worldwide. These actions are clearly outlined in the preamble of the Iranian constitution:

"An Ideological Army in the formation and equipping of the country's defense forces, due attention must be paid to faith and ideology as the basic criteria. Accordingly, the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps are to be organized in conformity with this goal, and they will be responsible not only for guarding and preserving the frontiers of the country, but also for fulfilling the ideological mission of jihad in God's way; that is, extending the sovereignty of God's law throughout the world (this is in accordance with the Koranic verse "Prepare against them whatever force you are able to muster, and strings of horses, striking fear into the enemy of God and your enemy, and others besides them" [8:60])."

Iran has proven through its actions and the actions of its proxies that it intends on upholding the words of their constitution.

Into the Valley of Death... The courageous final run of Ladder 118

Ladder 118 - six men of courage - captured as they head at speed across the Brooklyn Bridge and into the inferno with the blazing towers of the World Trade Center loomed clearly across the river.

That instant - the final run of Ladder 118, captured by amateur photographer Aaron McLamb still serves as an inspiration and a comfort to the dead men's loved ones 10 years later.

Thats our fault. The one feature of Dr. Hammonds writing is he puts the burden of responsibility where it belongson the Spirit-filled Church; as I argued in A Rear-guard Action, Islam once again a power the Lord providentially permitting on His Church as a prod/correcting force ever since the 7th century.

Rather, put thirty million Evangelicals on American streets, testifying the Gospel message. We already have them. Put thirty million Evangelicals with a Biblical worldview, working outward from well funded churches and seminaries bankrolled by finances not diverted into secular “activist organizations and useless politicians campaign coffers. Put thirty million Evangelicals on the streets with a first century book of Acts worldview, rededicated to the transformative power of the Word of God, “declining neither to the right hand, nor to the left (II Chronicles 34:2 - Proverbs 4:27) engaging the culture and this world with the truth. Give it a year. See what happens. [Read more...]

Holden in the Gap - An Evangelical Response to the Rise of Islam in America.

In a microcosm of the national debate over the rise of Islam in America and the proposal to build a mosque at Ground Zero, the debate is likewise modeling itself on a smaller scale in the Temecula Valley, Riverside County, California. I received an email from an associate mentioning a lecture that was to take place on 02 September, 2010, in Murrieta. It was to be hosted by Murrieta's Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC), in conjunction with the Veritas Evangelical Seminary, which is currently based there.

This lecture was initially a response to the local community's request for Calvary Chapel Bible College and Veritas Evangelical Seminary's position on the mosque that is being proposed by the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley (ICTV) on a piece of land on Nicolas Road near a Baptist church. With the national opposition to the Ground Zero mosque forcefully opposed by a vast majority of Americans, this local issue likewise generated some understandable resistance as well.

Likewise, in the wake of ongoing incidents of domestic terrorism like the attack at Fort Hood (many more stopped short by vigilant Police work), people are justifiably aware, very irritated, and there is a tremendous amount of "push-back" by sensible people against Progressive liberalism's endless blind lecturing on tolerance and religious plurality in the face of reality today. Yet, some Christians have come to accept that anything less than aggressive and violent confrontation with Muslims is "liberalism," "compromise," and weak. This is plain nonsense and these need to dial it down a few notches. Contemporary progressive liberalism is not synonymous with Biblical grace and compassion! In this agitated environment it is the loud and surly who are thus far dominating the discourse.

Should Israel Bomb Iran? - Better safe than sorry

By: Reuel Marc Gerecht (The Weekly Standard)
There is only one thing that terrifies Washingtons foreign policy establishment more than the prospect of an American airstrike against Irans nuclear-weapons facilities: an Israeli airstrike. Left, right, and center, “sensible people view the idea with alarm. Such an attack would, they say, do great damage to the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan, where Tehran would counterattack, punishing “the Great Satan (America) for the sins of “the Little Satan (Israel). An Israeli strike could lead to the closing of the worlds oil passageway, the Strait of Hormuz; prompt Muslims throughout the world to rise up in outrage; and spark a Middle Eastern war that might drag in the United States. Barack Obamas “New Beginning with Muslims, such as it is, would be over the moment Israeli bunker-busting bombs hit.

An Israeli “preventive attack, we are further told, couldnt possibly stop the Islamic Republic from developing a nuke, and would actually make it more likely that the virulently anti-Zionist supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, would strike Israel with a nuclear weapon. It would also provoke Irans Revolutionary Guard Corps to deploy its terrorist assets against Israel and the United States. Hezbollah, the Islamic Revolutions one true Arab child, would unleash all the missiles it has imported from Tehran and Damascus since 2006, the last time the Party of God and the Jewish state collided.
New Special Report: If Israel strikes Irans nuclear facilities

In "The Israeli Threat; An analysis of the Consequences of Israeli Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Facilities", Sam Gardiner examines one possible and increasingly likely outcome of the Iran-West controversy.

If Israel were to decide that it had no choice but to strike Iranian nuclear facilities, what would be the consequences? This is the question Sam Gardiner tackles in this Special Report.

Israel seems to be losing confidence in the commitment of the Obama Administration to protect its interests with respect to Iran. As tensions with the U.S. increase on this and other issues Israel is arguably pushed in a direction that could lead to an attack against Iran sooner rather than later.
A Mosque At Ground Zero? Forsaking Israel? Whats Next...A Nuclear Iran?
Ilario Pantano is running for North Carolinas 7th Congressional District.

"Cordoba Center" sounds comfortably Latino and almost familiar in a multi-ethnic city like New York. The names Spanish origin has a little bit of history too: the Cordoba Mosque in Spain symbolized a gateway to Muslim conquest of Western Europe - a conquest that today is unfolding in real time. But as disturbing as the sharia invasion of the European Union might be, my concern is the new $100 million mosque that will sit smugly just 600 feet from Ground Zero in New York City.

This new Cordoba Mosque will occupy a building that was literally struck by pieces of an exploding passenger aircraft deliberately piloted into the World Trade Center by martyrs shouting “Allahu Akbar. The suggestion that this mysteriously funded mosque is anything other than a permanent demonstration of Islams march on the West is nave at best.

This Cordoba Mosque is not benign. It is not about reconciliation or understanding. It is about marking religious, ideological and territorial conquest. This mosque is a martyr-marker honoring the terrorists who less than a decade ago killed thousands of us just two blocks away, and it must be stopped.

How radical Islam might defeat the West: A reprise

This was published today in Asia Times. The choices continue to get harder. As Barack Obama is, and will prove to be, a weaker president than Jimmy Carter, this only leaves Israel to shoulder the hard choices and take the lead in saving [if it is indeed still worth saving] Western civilization.

"A decade ago I argued that radical Islam might horrify the West into submission through the mass sacrifice of Muslim lives. During the past two weeks Iran has virtually invited a nuclear exchange with the West, in a series of statements that blend a deranged sort of bluster with malevolent calculation.

Iran's Kayhan press service warned last week, "If the US strikes Iran with nuclear weapons, there are elements which will respond with nuclear blasts in the centers of America's main cities." Meanwhile, Behzad Soltani, the number two man at Iran's Atomic Commission, proclaimed last week, "Iran will join the world nuclear club within a month in a bid to deter possible attacks on the country," adding, "No country would even think about attacking Iran once it is in the club."

Imagining an Israeli Strike on Iran

"In 1981, Israel destroyed Iraqs nuclear reactor at Osirak, declaring it could not live with the chance the country would get a nuclear weapons capability. In 2007, it wiped out a North Korean-built reactor in Syria. And the next year, the Israelis secretly asked the Bush administration for the equipment and overflight rights they might need some day to strike Irans much better-hidden, better-defended nuclear sites.

They were turned down, but the request added urgency to the question: Would Israel take the risk of a strike? And if so, what would follow? [New York Times - Read More]

Editor's Note: That this was printed in the New York Times should give one pause. I believe the global political/cultural arena is being primed to face the eventuality of an Israeli strike on Iran, as I have been saying for years.

(Fort Hood) Mark Steyn: Shooter exposes hole in U.S. terror strategy

"Thirteen dead and 28 wounded would be a bad day for the U.S. military in Afghanistan and a great victory for the Taliban. When it happens in Texas, in the heart of the biggest military base in the nation, at a processing center for soldiers either returning from or deploying to combat overseas, it is not merely a "tragedy" (as too many people called it) but a glimpse of a potentially fatal flaw at the heart of what we have called, since 9/11, the "war on terror." Brave soldiers trained to hunt down and kill America's enemy abroad were killed in the safety and security of home by, in essence, the same enemy a man who believes in and supports everything the enemy does.

Statesmanship and Its Betrayal - Mark Helprin

I first read this in 1998; forwarded by an elder statesman on one of the many email lists I was on in the eve of the Clinton administration. It is more relevant today - the need for reform in Washington and American politics - than it was then.

Sarah Palin haters have little to throw against her but third-grader school yard insults and empty ad hominem attacks against her and her family. The vaccuous, empty substance of progressive liberalism continues to be laid bare before society.

But the most vile attackers are the staus-quo, corrupt old derelicts of the GOP, from Newt Gingrich, to McCain backers, and on down the line. The biggest threat a Palin campaign - and the return of true statesmanship - is to them. As it should be.

The Moral Compass Of The Nation

Bill Barnstead was an online friend of my associate, Jon Christian Ryter. He recently passed away and Jon has written an excellent obituary for the man. I took the liberty of reposting one of Bill's more notable commentaries on the site. It has to be one of the most concise summations of the recklessness and treachery of elitist Republican decision making, offered in the wake of the GOP decline.

In my interpretation, a "Conservative" is someone who seeks to conserve the values and ethics which many of the older generation those which built this country held, and do hold dear. Bill Barnstead was one of those older generation whose lives and worldview I personally continue to uphold and study.

"...The Election of 2006 was more than just a repudiation of a president who tarnished the mantle of the Reagan legacy. It was a repudiation of globalism. It was a repudiation of unsecured borders. It was a repudiation of amnesty for illegal aliens. But most of all, it was a repudiation of an Administration that sold it's soul for 30 pieces of silver. That is the reason the voters could not overlook the corruption by Republicans when they ignored even worse corruption by Democrats. Conservatives are supposed to be the good guys. They are required to have integrityand all of the other Christian qualities that are needed to make good citizens....[Read

The Domestic Extremism Lexicon

My recent letter to the local paper:

While the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) threat analysis on "right-wing extremism" and slander of military veterans has been in the headlines, a lesser known document entitled "Domestic Extremism Lexicon" was also released, and not surprisingly at this point, also recalled by DHS. The document details terminology, one assumes, law enforcement is to be on the lookout for in incidental contact with "extremists."

Although this document was more broad brush in its assault on political thought, the inclusion of the "alternative media" was especially troubling. With the downward spiral of the main stream media into superficiality and propaganda, devoid of impartiality and objectivity, people have had no choice but to turn to the alternative media over the last decade to hold government accountable. Thus, the government monopoly on information has been overthrown.

So First Amendment protected bloggers like Michelle Malkin, Noam Chomsky; web sites like Democrat Underground and Free Republic are now ascribed sinister motives? Is anyone with a clue in charge now at DHS?

At the least, this should wake up the Left to the ideological bent of the Napolitano DHS. At the most, with the collapse of the Republican GOP as a viable bulwark against big government, George Orwell may still be vindicated by his classic "1984," as Big Brother is realized incredibly in the American experience.

Enemies of Capitalism

New Rule: neomercantilists, neoconservatives, and statists are no longer allowed to call themselves "free marketers." People who call themselves free marketers such as Bush, Paulson, Greenspan, and Bernanke are the primary threat capitalism faces. These false prophets of capitalism are the greatest friends that proponents of socialism have.

Many prominent American figures claim to be proponents of free markets but in practice advocate neomercantilist, corporate welfare policies. These policies eventually, and unsurprisingly, lead to disastrous economic and social consequences. These catastrophes are then blamed on capitalism, free markets, and deregulation, at which point, socialists are easily able to convince the distraught public that capitalism is a failed experiment and only massive government intervention in the markets can save them. Such is the way that capitalism dies, eaten away by a cancer from within.

From the Church (Mosque) to the Schoolhouse to the White House

One might ask why it is important to understand the relation between the Leftist/Marxist Islamist Alliance and the Emerging Movement among Churches and Mosques. It is because it indicates the movement of a historically conservative church and other organizations into the fold. These Emerging Church and Mosque Movements are the elephants in the pew. The Radical Islamist Movement has realized that the tactical weapons of terrorism and suicide bombing may not be achieving their goal for world domination, and that seduction, economics and political action are more effective in winning the war. In the letter: A Common Word Between Us and You the strategy is apparent in their conference of September 2007 held under the theme of “Love in the Quran. In this essay, I address how the Leftist/Marxist Islamist Alliance is approaching the goal of achieving a one religion and one-world government.

The Leftist/Marxist Islamist Alliance Aligns Against Jerusalem

...Failure to adhere to fundamental principles of our Judeo-Christian beliefs will be the signs of weakness that will only strengthen the hands of those who have already declared that we are their enemies.

Four ideologies Judeo/Christian based on the Bible, Islam based on the Quran/Hadith, Mormonism based on the Book of Mormon, and none of the above. They can not all be right, you have to make a decision, the future depends on itit is crunch time.

Given this equation, any near term trigger event in Egypt would garner at least the same global attention as any other Middle East regional conflict. The red line is not “peace in our time, but where will the West and Israel stand on Jerusalem and the “Temple Mount.

The US has been warned, and warned, and warned again

The California wildfires, which are slowly being brought under control as I write this, began on October 20, two days after Secretary of State Rice completed a four-day visit to the Middle East.

Bush and Rice are squeezing Israel into making more concessions to please the Palestinian Arabs so that they will go to Annapolis next month.

There the plans are meant to be formulated that will lead to the uprooting of tens of thousands of Jews from their Judean and Samarian homes, the destruction of their property, and the final and irreversible handing over of that territory to the murderous and antisemitic PLO.

As Washington pushes, California burns, and a million Americans have had to flee their homes.

For the Bible believer who takes God at His Word when He promises to deal severely with the nations that hurt His people, its legitimate to ask:

Has God allowed the fires that have burned up 700 square miles of American land as a warning to the Bush administration to stop pushing Israel towards a peace that can bring no peace?

And if Rice goes ahead, turns the screws and forces Israel to the negotiating table in Maryland, will something even more devastating come upon the United States?

I am terribly afraid that it will.

Sovereign Wealth Funds a Potential Tool of Asymmetric Warfare

Liberal democracy, led by the United States may have emerged triumphant from the struggles of the 20th century. But the rise of the non-democratic powers of Russia, China and the Islamist states utilizing the combined power of control of energy resources and the growth of Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWF) leaves the liberal democracys ultimate victory and future dominance in doubt. Overseas investments by Sovereign Wealth Funds have always had the potential to cause alarm in the destination countries. Because they are driven by governments of the totalitarian and Authoritarian Great Powers, they compel countries to take immediate attention.

How powerful Sovereign Wealth Funds decide to invest their vast armory of cash will play a pivotal role in reshaping financial markets in the next decade. These funds are going to have the ability to buy any global company, to create panic in markets if they move too precipitously, even to dwarf the political clout of international financial institutions. They can no longer be ignored.

The Sovereign Wealth Funds are potentially a powerful tool of asymmetric warfare like none we have witnessed before.

Appeasement The Liberal-Islamic Strategy

The real force behind the Gaza mayhem seems to be, a combined al Qaeda and Iran strategy, strange bedfellows perhaps, but for the time being, closely-linked partners in a common strategic goal to establish "Hamastan" as a forward base for Global terrorism. Al Qaeda's
ultimate objective is to destabilize and destroy the moderate Arab nations, first in line post-Mubaraq's Egypt, then the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and finally, the Sunni cradle of Saudi Arabia. A similar aim is Tehran's Shiite Crescent strategy - thus both partners are united, even if their spiritual inheritance differs widely and even conflicts sharply, in their religious deism. See also my article: Caliphatism - Establishing the "Islamic Kingdom of God on Earth".

It should be noted that The Fatah-Hamas differences concern personnel, approaches, and tactics. They share allies and goals. Tehran arms bothHamas and Fatah.

The “moderate terrorists of Fatah and the bad terrorists of Hamas equally indoctrinate children with a barbaric creed of “martyrdom. Both agree on eliminating the Jewish state. Neither shows a map with Israel present, or even Tel Aviv.

The Gaza Strip is now firmly in the control of Hamas, a radical terrorist group funded by Iran and Syria. Some have called Gaza “Hamastan, expecting that the area will become an Islamic quasi-state akin to Iran where Shariah law is strictly enforced. The fear is that Gaza will become a Lebanon-like Hamastan, a wasps nest that in the future will attract al-Qaeda men and extensions of Iran. All of these things are coming to life before our very eyes....

Nationalization A Plan for World Domination

"The Leftist/Marxist Islamist Alliance is utilizing the weapons of economics, energy and immigration to wrest control of the Western world. The Alliance through their operatives in the U.S. and the EU has furthered the progress of world domination and Islamization though appeasement, open borders, lack of fiscal disciple and greed among the populous, government leaders, financial advisors and banks seeking near term gains.

The U.S. and its allies need to understand who the enemy is and their goals, and put forward a plan for survival of the freedoms and liberty we enjoy. Commercial interests, and not security, are driving our actions as they did then prior to WW II.

This image will not be improved by elites counted among the Leftist/Marxist Islamist Alliance who have not only abandoned, but are attacking their own people, selling out their historical legacy to their worst enemies, and muzzling those who object to this. It is going to be interesting for future historians to unveil how many senior Western leaders or bureaucrats, bankers and corporate leaders have been bought and paid by petrodollars.
U.S. Policy Toward Iran and Russia

After September 11, Bush explained that the attacks showed that the friend of your enemy is also your enemy. As he put it last September, “America makes no distinction between those who commit acts of terror, and those that harbor and support them, because theyre equally guilty of murder.

Bush failed to note the converse of that reality: the enemy of your enemy is not necessarily your friend and ally. Here the distinction generally relates to Sunnis and Shiites. We fail to grasp that just because Shiites and Sunnis are rivals dont mean that they will join forces with the U.S. to fight one another, or wont join forces with one another to fight the U.S. to accomplish their goal of establishing the Islamic kingdom of God and return the caliphate. This and the failure to recognize the goals of Russia have and will continue to cause the Americans no end of difficulty. We also fail to recognize that that these forces have also joined with the Leftists.

There is an Arab saying to the effect that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend. While this may be the standard for many countries in the Middle East, it is not the standard by which a democratic nation like the United States can afford to operate.

Equally important is to recognize that Russia and China are also linked with mutual interests world domination and that Russia is neither the friend of the EU or the U.S.

Unfortunately, these forces have combined into the alliance of the Leftist/Marxist and Islamists with the common goal of world domination. [Author David J. Jonsson]

Islamic Economics and the Final Jihad: The Muslim Brotherhood to the Leftist/Marxist - Islamist Alliance

"In the early months of 2006 as the news of the Dubai Ports World (DPW) (a maritime company controlled by the UAE government) acquisition of Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O) and their subsequent control of 24 terminals at six major U.S. ports broke from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, a firestorm of controversy broke nationally. The detractors response was attacked as “xenophobic hysteria, bigotry, and racism against Arabs (snarl words usually employed by the radical left against their hapless targets), by free market proponents, yet the majority of Americans, their sons and daughter at war with Islamic terrorism, instinctively sensed a threat. Few were able to clearly articulate why."

"That threat no longer remains veiled. David J.
Global Threats Leading to the Leftist/Marxist Islamist Takeover

"...In order to understand the issues faced by the West it is necessary to review history and look at the many factors that are currently leading to the almost intractable solution to the crisis developing worldwide.

The future enemies of Europe and the United States will be a mutation of current and past foes both domestically and internationally. In confronting these forces, knowledge of their ideaologies, objectives and determination will make all the difference. The domestic foes may be either sympathizers or via actual operatives. In the period following the downfall of the Soviet Union, this is the first time that favorable conditions have emerged on the side of the Leftist and Islamists around the world to challenge the hegemony of the West.
Using the Oil Weapon and Sanctions to Avert War With Iran

"...Little do the people waging "the war against the war" know that, in exchange for a temporary political advantage, they are gravely endangering Americas security and well-being, ultimately even their own. The Fantasy Island seekers will neither speak nor confront the present existence and inexorable rise of systems of government that do not exactly wish to deliver the higher realms of personal, sexual, and want-less liberty the One Worlders envision. America is the magnet for bright and ambitious people. It also makes America a target. The U.S. is also becoming one of the last holdouts of the traditional Judeo-Christian ideology. America takes it for granted, but it is not as available in other countries of the world. Ultimately, it's an issue of culture. The only people who can hurt America are themselves, by losing their culture and will to win. If they give up their Judeo-Christian culture, they will become just like the Europeans.
Wakeup America Understand the Mind of the Jihadist

"The war on terror might be lost not on the streets of Baghdad but in the corridors of Congress. A divided America and Anti-Americanism serves our enemies well. Soon we may see a vote in Congress that says, "We can't stop the surge plan, but we don't support it." It is time for America to understand who the enemy is, the murderous ideology that is driving them and their strategy for success. This would be the Islamist's greatest fear.

It is important to understand that the goal of the Jihadists is following in the footsteps of Muhammad to create the "Islamic kingdom of God on Earth." The primary goal is not to conquer lands but to Islamize the world. The drive is to instill Islamic law (Shariah) into both Muslim society and the entire world, and ultimately to recreate society under their interpretation of the law. The strategy is to utilize the sword of Islam...." [Author David J. Jonsson]

We believe that only a new alliance of concerned citizens can re-identify and dramatically strengthen the core values necessary for America to maintain that greatness and moral leadership.

These values are: faith-based American principles of constitutional and limited government; the rule of law; representative democracy; free markets; a strong military; and, a moral public

No Substitute for Victory - The Defeat of Islamic Totalitarianism

This article, by Dr. John Lewis, assistant professor of history at Ashland University and contributing editor of The Objective Standard, was both forwarded to me and posted at FREE REPUBLIC.

It was fascinating because, although he promotes ideas to defeat Islamic totalitarianism founded in a WWII era American militray culture which crushed Japan and smashed the Weirmacht into junk, the fact that American culture today is vastly different than during the 40' a 50's is not addressed.

Specifically, The Objectivist is anti-faith because of their secular humanist foundation. Yet the fact that America's Judeo/Christian culture and heritage had not been severely undermined, as today, as well as the crippling effects of multi-culturalism and other decidedly un-American trends over the years, guarntees American failure in the was against Islamic terror.

The moral relativism rampant in American culture today because Christianity continues to be marginalized by organizations like The Objectivist provides the moral vacuum for Islam to spread as a "fith column" in American culture, and treason from within.

Islamic Economics and Shariah Law: A Plan for World Domination

"My goal today is to put you into the mind of an Islamistto think like an Islamist. It is only possible to understand the events occurring by understanding their thinking and what it would mean to live under Shariah law. There is a well-worn clich “Its the economy stupid that appears around election times. So it is with Islamic Economics and the Clash of Ideologies we are witnessing today. "

"It should be realized that the goal of the Islamists, following in the footsteps of Muhammad, is not so much to conquer the land but to Islmanize the populations. In so doing they seek to have the lands come under Shariah law and that the lands become dar al-Islamthe land of Islam and that all non-Muslims accept the status of Dhimmissubservient to Muslim rule. The Plan involves the incremental acceptance of basic tenants of Shariah law as applied to all aspects of lifethe Islamic “Way of Life. This implies the desire to incrementally change the laws and ultimately the Constitution of the U.S. This requires the population to accept the new laws as equally valid and acceptable. Initially this will result in parallel legal systems and progressing from there with laws that may be applied locally and ultimately nationally. Jihad can be with the pen and the tongue, just as it can be the sword and the spear as Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood has said. Knowledge combined with economic control can be wielded with the precision of a sharp sword to effect any desired social/political change necessary for the fulfillment of Islams goal."
Caliphatism - Establishing the 'Islamic Kingdom of God on Earth'

In his short story, “The Metamorphosis, Franz Kafka described the transformation of a human into a vermin. He could also have written the plot for the mutation of the Christian nations into the coming new caliphate--one world under Islam--a world without borders. After all, Gregor Samsa found himself transformed into an insect one morning. Thus, Samsa lies in a room, examines his new physical state, and considers how he will be able to explain being late for work. Samsa does not waste any time thinking about why he has become an insect and how to escape the situation. Instead, there is only apathy, quiet resignation--the man accepts the undeniability of the surreal situation. He lies quietly with shallow breath--thinking, feeling, and acting as if he were unchanged. ...There is not that much of a difference between the metamorphosis of a person into an insect and that of a group of states into a caliphate. - Author David J.
