What makes her so amazing is that she is only twelve years old and paints visions from the Lord that go beyond her own ability to describe and explain. She readily gives credit to the Master Artist of the Universe for her talents that equally go beyond description and explanation. It is as if she is painting in unknown tongues of color a message of faith, hope, and love to the world. As she states herself, "the most important thing in this world is faith. Without faith you cannot communicate with God."

Akiane has been to heaven in visions that started at the age of four. She was brought up in an atheistic home where God was never mentioned. Through her talents the Lord revealed Himself to her mother and is now revealing Himself to the world. This young evangelist provides a glimpse of a place of untold beauty, architecture, and existence, of colors that do not exist on our planet. She is describing a place made for those, like her, who have found the Lord. You too can find the source of Akiane's inspiration. Find Jesus Today!

~ dj

Can You Hear the Wind of the Spirit?

Holy Day Blessings!

I just ran across amazing evidence of God's power caught on tape. If you ever wondered what it sounded like on the Day of Pentecost, here is a dramatic repeat two-thousand years later halfway around the globe near the Arctic Circle. You can experience the fire of God in your life and hear the wind coming from your own mouth. The Lord is waiting in the river of His Holy Spirit today. Want to be baptized by Jesus?

"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." (Acts 2:1-4)

Wanted by Jesus: Ramadan Nuke Terrorist

Have you seen me?

<img height="204" alt="Adnan G. The email was an urgent prayer request that originated from an official in the U.S. government, who sent it to several prayer networks throughout the United States, one of which was Aglow International. Thankfully, the President of Aglow has made the request public, which is how he and then we got it (God bless you Sister Jane Hansen for making this available). According to the request for prayer:

Osama bin Laden has assigned a man named Adan Al Shukri Juma to carry out a new attack within the US which is intended to be larger than the September 11 attacks. Explosives and nuclear materials have been smuggled into the US through the Mexican border over the last two years and are hiding in a location that the FBI has not been able to discover.

After I got over the initial shock and disbelief, I went immediately to Aglow's international website to verify the prayer request, and there it was on the front page. From there, I went to the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorists List but did not find the man identified as "Adan Al Shukri Juma." Then I noticed the Seeking Terrorism Info Page and there he was, but with his name spelled:

Adnan G. El Shukrijumah

Whatever the spelling of his name, every detail thus mentioned lends some credibility that people in our government are very concerned about this man and the threat he poses to perhaps millions of Americans.

Now before people start rushing to conclusions about the veracity of this request and claims, please consider a few points. First, as mentioned in our previous post Wrestling with Angels, Osama bin Laden recently received permission to kill 10 million Americans. Second, other al Qaeda chiefs such as Ayman al-Zawahiri and American-born "Azzam al Amriki" have warned Americans of dire consequences if they do not convert to Islam. Third, it is no secret that al Qaeda has acquired nuclear weapons.

What's more unbelievable to me is not anything in this prayer request, it's the absolute blindness of most Americans to the threat that surrounds us. It's as if I am watching the first three episodes of Star Wars, where Palpatine slowly takes over the entire galaxy. Meanwhile people are just bickering over wiretaps, amnesty for illegal immigrants, how there was no WMD in Iraq, and my personal favorite, September 11th conspiracy theories. Wait a minute that wasn't in the movie...

but it might as well have been.

The fact is that it may be too late for wiretaps, border security, WMD in Iraq, and conspiracy theories. Despite every effort to protect us and wage war against a nuclear-equipped enemy, somebody in government has finally realized that our only hope is in prayer.

Rub your eyes and get some Starbucks people!

Now for those who are awake with me, the first natural reactions such as fear and hate need to be squelched. Secondary reactions, what I call "reflexive prayer requests," also need to be squelched. These prayer requests call for the success of our law enforcement agencies, for our enemies to be scattered, and for them to be thrown into confusion. The Lord knows I have prayed these same prayers over the course of this past year. Although, they are well intentioned prayers, I think we have been missing out on the larger will of God and some untapped power. Here is what I think we've been missing in our prayers:

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9)

"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16)

What are the methods and weapons of our enemies? They want to invite us to Islam? They have nukes? I am here to tell you that we have methods and weapons so powerful that they can make a terrorist stand fast in his tracks. Ours are more powerful than any suitcase-sized nuclear weapon. They have more accuracy and precision than any smart munition.

The methods and weapons in our arsenal are prayer and the good news of Jesus Christ. And here's something else people might not want to hear: Jesus died for every terrorist who is in the United States and is scheming against us as we speak. It's not my will that they come to salvation. It's God's. It's not for me to have unforgiveness in my heart. If so, God guarantees that I'll be judged for that. It's not by any man's power that we can prevent the unpreventable, because it's

"'not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty" (Zechariah 4:6)

Feelings like hate and fear have no place in our hearts right now. Apathy and lethargy have no place in our minds right now. We have the power in our hands and knees to make a difference. As I have said before, if you don't think it's possible that a terrorist can come to the Lord, look at Saul of Tarsus. It's too late for anything else. It's time to pray.

There is a man right now, who is plotting to set off something so horrendous that if it were to come to fruition it would shock the world. Something that will make the September 11th attacks pale in comparison. He's wanted by the FBI, but more than you or I will ever know, he's wanted by Jesus, the Prince of Peace and the author and finisher of our faith.

Please join me as I pray for the salvation of one man that may hold millions of American lives in his hands. Pray that he like so many of his fellow Muslims will see the Lord in vision, dream, or visitation. Pray for the conviction of the Holy Spirit to come upon him. Pray for his soul as if it were your own. Pray that he will repent of his murderous ways. Please, I beg you pray for Adnan or Adan al Shukrijumah.

<img height="106" alt="Adnan G. At the moment it is not a matter of if but when. Whether they succeed, however, in large part depends on the actions or inactions of the American church.

The terrorists attacks that day and since have shown us is that there are no answers in the natural to prevent them. Sure, governments of man can stop a few here and there, but what the world is facing goes beyond the schemes of countless thousands thirsty for American blood. What I am talking about are millions of fallen hosts that are massing to manifest in these countless thousands.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)

It's not enough to pray for divine protection from their upraised hand. It's not enough to pray for our success in the battlefield. It's not enough to pray that they are exposed. Although these are worthy prayers, they are "bandaid" prayers in the face of the artery that is about to explode. There are only two prayers we should be praying right now as if our country depended upon them, as if the lives of our families depended upon them: 1. Repentance for our nation and 2. The salvation of those who threaten us. These prayers emanate from the very heart and will of God. Why not pray accordingly? It's our only hope! This is the wrestling match we must join. If not, let's just throw our hand up before the referee yells "Ready, go!."

"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place." (2 Chronicles 7:14-15)

To give you just a picture of the threat I provide the following brief synopsis of news bits and an expose film:

It is no secret that Osama Bin Laden has received recent permission from clerics in Saudi Arabia to kill up to ten million Americans. Before you think this is funny, Osama was actually rebuked by Muslim clerics worldwide not because he was behind the 9/11 attacks but because he hadn't given Americans the proper warnings ahead of time. Apparently, this time he has learned his lesson - bad Osama. Just pause and think for a couple minutes. Imagine ten million Americans dead in a single day. Wake up people! This is not a joke. Read the writing on the wall: TEN MILLION AMERICANS DEAD.

It is no secret that countries like Iran and Al Qaida operatives, like Californian-born "Azzam the American," have extended invitations to join Islam or face certain grave consequences. This is no publicity stunt. This is exactly what the Koran teaches to do before all "jihad breaks loose." This is yet another prelude to mass murder on a national scale. To their credit, if I may say that, they are following their doctrines to a tee. They have made the invitation so if we balk it, they have fulfilled their end and will have the justification to strike with their sword.

It is no secret that Iran and Al Qaida have already acquired several nuclear weapons. This is their sword of choice and they are just waiting for the right opportunity to use them. If you believe that they don't have these weapons or won't use them, then I have some Iranian nuclear waste buckets to sell you. I must return to the close of my first paragraph: TEN MILLION AMERICANS DEAD.

It is no secret that there are sleeper terrorist cells here in America, who have been training for years here in America for the day that they can wage jihad here in America. They even have permission to kill children and even other Muslims here in America. If you think I am using scare tactics, may I remind of you the Beslan schoolhouse massacre? Do you think it can't happen here in America? May I ask a rhetorical question? Where did the 19 terrorists of the September 11th attacks train? Where did they strike? The answer should be clear - here in America.

Before I move on to the expose film that I believe every American should watch, allow me to return to the wrestling match of this new century. Imagine with me the night of September 10th 2001. All 19 hijackers, are in their hotel rooms trying to get sleep the night before their infamous mission. What would have happened if on that same night millions of American Christians were awakened to intercede for them, yes that's right intercede for them, not just damn them to hell.

Do you think a terrorist is worth praying for? Do you think he or she is beyond the reach of the Holy Spirit's conviction? Do you think they are beyond the hope of Jesus appearing to them? Well, let's just ask these questions to Saul of Tarsus when we get to heaven. On second thought, you might have a hard time finding him, because he has a new name and, to be cliche, it's written down in glory. His new name also happens to be written on almost two thirds of the New Testament.

Church, this is our only hope. Everything else is vanity. Will you tarry just one hour? This is exactly what I am talking about. The message of the Gospel is for every man and we are the messengers of this message. In this sense, we are angels. To not engage in prayer for our enemies is to wrestle against ourselves!

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

We the American church, are the last defense for our country. Dear Jesus, if only our newspapers could read tomorrow: TEN MILLION MUSLIMS ACCEPT JESUS. Sound far fetched? Well let's just ask the entire village of Bugia in Algeria who had the same dream of Jesus on the same night in which He declared His lordship in exactly the same manner. Is anything too difficult for God?

Please join me as we turn the invitation of the terrorists around and use the only effective weapon in our arsenal. The only weapon powerful enough to shake the earth. Let's stop kicking the goads and wrestle the real enemies. Let's intercede repentance for our nation and for the salvation of souls, especially the souls of Muslims in America.

"After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly." (Acts 4:31)

Now for the expose film, which I must apologize has subtitles and is fairly long at 1 hour and 17 minutes. Notwithstanding these detractors, it is well worth watching and your time. Obsession Radical Islam's War Against the West is set to come out on DVD on the anniversary of September 11th. I pray that its release date is not too late, and that's why I have placed the video here, not to scare the church but to do what I can to awaken her in the midnight hour to pray.

Please let me make one thing clear. I do not hate Muslims. I love them with the love of the Lord. To the Muslims of the world: "Jesus loves you and died for you. He is the man in white who calls to you. Find Him today."

Heaven is so Real!

To say that Heaven is so Real! is a book for our times would be an understatement. Delegates from Hispanic congregations from all over the Grand Canyon State met to launch the Arizona Latin Conference of the Assemblies of God. The newly born conference is the newest in the nation and the first-ever state conference for a Hispanic constituency in the AG Fellowship. The latter is a significant hallmark as other language districts and conferences currently span several states.

Dr. Sergio Navarrete, Superintendent of the Southern Pacific Latin American District Council, presided over the momentous occasion. During the course of the proceedings, Dr. Navarrete underscored the historical significance of the day's events by invoking memories to the early years of the Hispanic Pentecostal movement in the United States. Special mention was paid to pioneer ministers H. C. Ball, Demetrio Bazan Sr., and Chonita Howard.

The day's business then proceeded to elections of conference officers. Rev. Tony Martinez from Surprise, AZ was elected as Superintendent. Elected Assistant Superintendent was Rev. Emilio de la Cruz of Avondale while the Secretary Treasurer post went to Glendale's Rev. Juan Garcia. Delegates also elected Rev. Alfredo Resendez to fill the special post of General Presbyter.

Regional presbyters were also elected for the five new regions that comprise the Arizona Latin Conference: West, East, Yuma, South, and English. Rev. Daniel R. Morales Sr. of Douglas, who serves as Club Alpha Omega's Sponsor Pastor, was elected as the English Regional Presbyter.

The creation of the new conference gives testimony to the growth of the Hispanic constituency within the Assemblies of God fellowship. According to a 2005 report, Hispanics made up the AG's fastest growing segment, accounting for 65.6 percent of its overall growth. Given this trend, the Arizona Latin Conference will no doubt bolster this growth and continue to establish the Assemblies of God as the fastest growing Christian faith group in the United States.

The delegates left the founder's meeting knowing that they had made history by adding another exciting chapter in the growth of the Assemblies of God and of the church worldwide.

Danny Boy Dreams of the Rapture

Blessings Friends of Young Seven One!

Here in Danny Boy's own words is his dream:

dear people listen to my dream one day i herd a loud noise so i went outside and i saw god and he said go get your family then we went up and are cloths went down ...
For more on Danny Boy's Dream, visit our Fire Blog, where we posted the entire account on August 8, 2006.

A Bible to set Teens on Fire!

Good news about good news! AG News Service is reporting that the National Youth Ministries is partnering with Life Publishers and the Bible Alliance to publish the Fire Bible Student Edition. But before we can pitch tents and tailgate parties at the local Bible bookstore, we'll have to wait for Summer 2007 when it will be released.

So what so special about the edition and why Fire? The "adult" version is one of most sought-after study Bibles in the world. This is especially the case of Christians who are experiencing the Pentecostal revival and the explosive growth that goes with it. It's called the Fire Bible because it is written from a Pentecostal perspective. Or as I like to put it...it's written for those who have had, believe in or are seeking an "Acts Chapter 2 reading-Apostlelike faith motivating-empower you to be bold and perform miracles anointating-whip the devil with a Holy Ghost switchin-fire shut up in your bones and all over you cremating" experience.

For many pastors in anti-Christian and developing countries, the adult version has become a one-book Biblical library, 1. because Christian literature is hard to come by in these countries and 2. because this study Bible is so thorough in its notes, concordance and study helps. The Bible Alliance has successfully translated and distributed the Fire Bible in several languages and has done so in hard-to reach countries. In China alone, 2 million Chinese Fire Bibles were recently distributed. It must have been a powerball day for Christian leaders there. According to some reports, they had been earnestly waiting for just such a study Bible that would go hand in hand with the largely Pentecostal revival that is spreading like wildfire across the once atheistic state.

Thankfully, youth will not have to wait too much longer to be equipped with a Bible that's on fire too! Youth, Youth Leaders, and Parents, get your tailgates, 2007 graduation gift-lists, youth group Bible-fundraising events ready!!! Reading it aloud to him, my family, church friends and his colleagues was the highlight of my night at his retirement ceremony from the Army. I stumbled through it with many tearful stops. It was the first time I had ever expressed in word and in public just how much my Dad meant to me. He really does embody the term "Man of God," "Patriot," and "Father." May I continue to remember these heartfelt words that express my admiration of the man I call Dad. May I continually strive to be all the man he was to me to my children, my country and my God.

All the Man You Are to Me

Dad, sometime, somehow, somewhere I will find the answer to a question that perplexes me. Whether it be in a subconscious dream or in a conscious thought. "How can a man be a man three times over?"

You first are the man that conceived me and reared me, you are my father. Second, you are the man anointed by God to be the chief priest of your family, you are my pastor. Third, you are the man that inspired me with unspeakable patriotism, you are my hero. You are my father, you are my pastor, you are my hero.

How can you be the man that is the father to me? You sacrifice your blood, your sweat and your tears to provide us with both the necessities, as well as the comforts. You diligently protect us from all forms of threat however perceived or unperceived. You bathe us in your love, the love that never would have thought twice to call on your life to give itself up for those of your family. Father, as your only son, I am the inheritor of a priceless fortune, I am the bearer of your name. The awesome burden falls on me to maintain its immaculate integrity, to define its inherent meaning, and to pass it on to another generation in the condition I inherited it. I still don't know how you can be the man that is the father to me...

How can you be the man that is the pastor to me? You preach the word of God in spoken word. You preach the same with silent action. You are the spiritual warrior always alert, always clad in armor. But, you are also the spiritual servant, always submissive to God, always humble. Whenever I need imagine the likeness of Christ I need not look further than to my own father. I still don't know how you can be the man that is the pastor to me...

How can you be the man that is the hero to me? I need not look to fictional characters when I have you in my sight, for heroism runs through your body truer than blood itself. Duty to you is not an obligation, but a passion. Honor to you is not a commendation, but a lifestyle. Country to you is not an artificial creation, but your own flesh and blood. I still don't know how you can be all the man that is a hero to me...

I give up. I guess I will never know how you can be a man three times over. The question is Dad, how can I be all the man you are to me?

About my Dad

Some of the more telling things about my dad as a father are the simple things. I never heard a swear word come out of his mouth. I never saw him lose his temper. In spite of the pressures of work and ministry, he was always there cheering for me and my sister. He believed in us and loved us and was not afraid to tell us so. He still kisses us in public.

As a minister he not only fathered me and my sister as a chief priest, he also conceived and pastored several ministries. He has fed countless sheep over the years, building disciples who have gone on to build even more disciples. To date, he has pastored five Assemblies of God churches, the last of which he pioneered two years ago at the young age of sixty-nine! He is still pastoring and personally doing construction "ministry" on the church property, my parent's home, and my grandmother's house (did I mention he is a certified carpenter?). The Lord has visited my father in dreams, visions, and angelic visitations. One time the Lord's visitation was so powerful that he was unable to speak in English for several days and his face became visibly radiant!

His mentoring has influenced almost every area of my life including my career in the military. He molded me into the serviceman and officer I am today. Not a day goes by that I don't remember some nugget of wisdom and some leadership truth that he passed on to me. He really did know what it was to be a true soldier, a patriot, and most importantly a servant leader. He loved his troops and his troops loved him. I'll never forget junior officers and even a brigadier general walking up to me years after his retirement and telling me just how much Sergeant First Class Morales meant to them. His service to country began when he was a young boy during World War II. He delivered the letters of American GIs who waved at him from their troop trains. He would soon serve in the Civil Air Patrol during the last years of that war. When the Korean War broke out and his brother Ben went missing in action, he enlisted at the age of sixteen-and-a-half, thanks to his mother's written consent. All told, he served three separate stints in the military, one in the Army, one in the Air Force, and then another one in the Army twenty years after his first, for a combined service of over thirty years. He served during the Korean War, Vietnam War and the first Gulf War. I'll never forget the naval officer candidates in my class saluting him in his Army dress blues thinking he was some ten-striped Admiral. The other lasting memory is caught on film, my first salute from my father.

Many stories could be written about his exploits as a minister and a soldier. One story is about why he remained a Sergeant First Class so many years. Part of that story involves his passing up two opportunities to become an officer and the other involves him sticking out his neck for his men. When I say he was a hero I meant it. Growing up I saw him preaching at the pulpit on Sundays, sometimes four services in one day. Throughout the week, I saw him in camouflage lifting up his troops with just his smile. I can still remember the scent of Army fatigues (his uniform) that I'd smell when he would pick me up to hug me. Thank God I took notes from his actions at church, at his workplace (when he would treat me to visits), and most importantly at home. I pray I pass the test. Happy Father's Day SFC Daniel R. Morales Sr. (USA Ret), Rev. Daniel R. Morales Sr., and my personal favorite---Dad!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO FATHERS EVERYWHERE!

Not Another Tie for Father's Day

Father's Day is coming up and so is the chance to bless your Father in heaven by participating in the "Not Another Tie" Campaign of Africa Tabernacle Evangelism. You and your church can bless a whole community in Africa through this highly effective and practical method of evangelism. What is the campaign and Africa Tabernacle Evangelism all about? Learn more from its Coordinator, Pastor Bill Moore...

The “Not Another Tie” campaign is a deliberate effort to involve local USA churches in partnering with Africa Tabernacle Evangelism and the local African church to erect church buildings across the continent in 2006.

Currently, the African church is in a tremendous growth mode, and the need for congregations to have their own building is growing. There are currently more than 13 million Assemblies of God believers across Africa, and if the current growth rate continues as it currently is, by 2010 there will be more than 30 million believers. With this growth, the need is greater now than ever before. And because a church gains credibility in its community when it has it’s own church building, it often experiences rapid growth . . . thus the need for your help.

We are encouraging churches across the USA to take a special offering on Father’s Day for this special need. The thought is that instead of giving dad another tie as a gift, honor dad, brother, husband, uncle, or pastor by giving an offering on his behalf which will make an eternal difference. A tie will pass away, but the church will live on for eternity! And the father’s legacy will live on as well!

This year we need 1000 USA churches who will commit to partner with us to build 1000 African churches. For an offering of $7500, a tabernacle church can be built for a need congregation in Africa. A church may chose to partner with us to fund all or part of a church building and all help will be greatly appreciated.

If you would like more information, or would like the ministry leader, Bill Moore, to come and share this vision with your church, please e-mail the address listed below.

Make this Father's Day a day to remember by changing a whole community and perhaps a whole nation in Africa. Build a church for a lifetime in a day!

Here are some resources to help you help Africa Tabernacle Evangelism:

Contribute to Africa Tabernacle Evangelism Online Now

African Tabernacle Evangelism Homepage

Email Africa Tabernacle Evangelism

Download ATE Poster Above (.jpg)

Download Not Another Tie Explanation (.jpg)

ATE is a missions partner of Club Alpha Omega Young Adults International and its missions giving program - The Lighthouse Project. The SWC Ministry Director, and our friend, Pastor Bob Reehm has issued a call out for 40 days of fasting and praying leading up to the event. If you are interested in being a part of this organized call, please contact us and we will put you in touch with Rev. Harry and Shirl Gamotan who assist Pastor Bob at both Del Mar and Monterey. This is Pastor Bob's call that we have been allowed to post:

Proclamation: Call To FASTING for SWC Del Mar 2006

Whereas Spirit West Coast Del Mar is not just a music festival but a significant, three day, SPIRITUAL event;

Whereas Francis Chan will be presenting the Gospel with an altar call from the Air 1 Grandstand Stage challenging folks to repent and to become true followers of Jesus Christ;

Whereas Erwin McManus will be challenging believers on Saturday night from the Air 1 Grandstand Stage to live as true believers in obedience to the Lord Jesus

Whereas we expect up to 15,000 people/day to attend, many of which will be UNSAVED seekers

Whereas there will be at least 12 other ALTAR Calls, nine in the Skate Church/skate boarding demonstration area and two others in the alternative band area

Whereas last year at SWC Del Mar over 150 people (that we are aware of) made first time, ETERNAL decisions to give their lives to Jesus Christ

Whereas last year during SWC Del Mar over 300 needy children from many different countries of the world found sponsors through Compassion International which will have long term, lasting impact around the world and this year at Del Mar, the opportunity will also be given to sponsor children through COMPASSION International

Whereas Jesus said, "I am the vine, you are the branches, apart from me, YOU CAN DO NOTHING":

And Because of the truth of the Master's words and the reality of the spiritual battle,

We are inviting you, your family and /or church to join us in 40 days of fasting in preparation for Spirit West Coast Del Mar '06.

The 40th day prior to SWC Del Mar is, Easter Sunday, April 16th and will be the first day of the coordinated, group fast.

I am asking people to commit to fasting as much as they feel led of God. I am also asking that you ask the Spirit as to what TYPE of fasting He wants you to do. (Water only, juice fast, etc.) I am asking each ministry team participant to fast a minimum of three meals over the 40 days of the fast. I am hoping that each Dept. Head and their Assistants will take up the challenge and join me in beseeching our Great God for great things through Spirit West Coast Del Mar. Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call upon me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not."

There are lots of options for you to choose from. You may choose to miss a meal/day, or you may pick one day a week to fast, or pick 2-3 different days/meals during the 40-day period. You may want to fast for 2-3 days in a row, or even an entire week or longer. Some may want to miss lunches or dinners on Sat., or breakfasts on Sunday, or some other meal. I would like to track when folks are intentionally fasting and seeking the Lord so that all 40 days and 120 meals are 'covered'.

For those who desire to join in this Spiritual discipline of fasting, please email Shirl Gamotan, the Ministry Dept. Administrator with your designated "FAST" days and which meals you intend to miss. Her email address is: LuvThatGospel316@aol.com

In the spirit of Matthew 6, I will not divulge who is participating in the fast or to what degree. My tracking of the meals is to ensure that all meals are covered. Many times folks will ask me, "Tell me what days/meals need to be covered, and I will fast then." So, it helps me to know when folks are intending on fasting. By separate, later email, I will send a list of suggested prayer concerns that need to be 'covered.'

If you have never fasted before, I invite you to get a good concordance and look up 'fasting' in the Scriptures. Also, there are several excellent books on the market that you can purchase at Christian bookstores. If you desire to read some material that discusses fasting, please email my administrative assistant, Shirl Gamotan. Her email address is: LuvThatGospel316@aol.com. Please include your name and address in your email. She will mail to you a booklet written by Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, on the topic of fasting. It is full of helpful information to assist you in your commitment. If you have never fasted before and if you are taking prescription drugs or if have a medical/health condition, please consult your doctor or pharmacist prior to fasting.

The 40th day before the festival begins is 16th April with the last day of the fasting period the 25th of May, the day before the festival begins.

If you know of other prayer warriors who would be interested in joining us in this GREAT SPIRITUAL WORK, please pass this invitation on to them.

Again, please email Shirl Gamotan back your name and the days/meals that you will miss in your participation in this work. Please report your commitment in the following way in the subject line of your email: examples: Saturday, 1 May, Breakfast & Lunch or MWF Dinners.

In Christ's Service,

Bob Reehm
Ministry Director, SWC

:: Note from Sister Shirl Requesting More Help ::

Greetings!
Tomorrow starts the 40 days of fasting for Spirit West Coast Del Mar. Thank you again for your commitment to fast and pray for this event. Please let me know if you've forgotten what days/meals you have committed to. Convoy of Hope needs 20 teams of 300 people each to reach out to the devastated communities over the next two years. The outreaches commenced March 18th with the next one planned for Biloxi MS on April 1. Each outreach consists of grocery distributions, haircuts, entertainment, children's ministry, community service involvement, health fairs, and other compassion components.
Opportunities include greeters, safety personnel, children's ministry workers, food preparation volunteers, intercessory prayer partners, forklift drivers, licensed hair stylists, nurses, doctors, dentists, site entertainment (bands, drama teams, dance teams, etc.) as well as people willing and able to do personal evangelism. Everyone can reach out through prayer. As you pray, remember that God cares just as much about you and has sent people and blogs to tell you.

Here's to you St. Patty!

What comes to mind when you think of St. Patrick's Day? Do you think of shamrocks, parades, wearing anti-pinch green, Kiss Me I'm Irish (for today), or even the Lucky Charms they're magically delicious happy leprechaun? What about all the customary drinking on St. Patty's Day?

Reading about the life of Saint Patrick gives a whole new meaning to shamrocks for me. I don't know about the pinching, kissing, magically delicious, drinking part of it all. But more than anything it makes me want to celebrate the man more than the day.

Who was he? Is there any truth to him driving snakes out of Ireland? You may be surprised to find out that the story of his life reads like that of the prophet Elijah, or something out of the book of Acts. According to the story, he really did drive out snakes from Ireland, but it wasn't the kind most people think of.

Just like Elijah, he challenged the pagan worship of the day and the highest powers of the land in front of the entire nation. The day he stepped out in faith to turn the hearts of the Irish towards the one true God changed the course of Ireland's history.

On that Spring day, Saint Patrick really lit a fire and it's still burning today. The fire he lit was on top of the Hill of Slane just outside of modern-day Dublin. This wasn't just any day, any fire and any hill. This day fell on Easter Sunday, 26 March in the year 433. That day was the day that according to royal and Druidic decree all fires in the kingdom would be extinguished, except for one, the bonfire outside the royal palace atop the Hill of Tara. This bonfire could be seen for miles. It had huge significance as it announced the rightful owner to the throne of Ireland. Its flames brightly declared to everyone who was king over Ireland. The hill Saint Patrick chose might as well have been Elijah's altar on top of Mount Carmel, because it was right across from the Hill of Tara in plain sight of practically the whole nation.
I can only imagine the screams that let out from King Laoghaire's court when they looked out to see a fire burning on the Hill of Slane even before they could strike a match to theirs. All hell must have broken loose up in there - all pun intended.
The Druid priests demanded that the King put a stop to this show of defiance and fast, I'm sure job security had something to do with it. Well, like all good pagan kings he listened and sent out the hit squad along with the fire department. When they reached the fire, they desperately tried to extinguish the flames. But what started out a natural fire could not be put out by natural means. This was no bonfire, this was a God fire.

When they tried to find out who started the now raging inferno, God closed their eyes so that they could not see Saint Patrick, who was probably chuckling in the shadows and giving God some major props. The Druid priests were probably fuming (and sweating) even more when the King all of a sudden thought that whoever started the fire was more than just ok with him . . . he was the man!

Saint Patrick came out to His court at the King's own invitation. The Druid priests, desperate for some action, set out a trap for him. Didn't these priests watch the Prince of Egypt? Well, they must have thought of the most inconceivable thing possible to prove that Saint Patrick was some kind of third-string street act. What about snow? So they challenged the God of Saint Patrick to let it snow on what was a perfectly sunny day.

Saint Patrick from all indications probably was not expecting the snow challenge, but God just said "bring it on baby" or something close to it. Everybody gasped and maybe even Saint Patrick did a little when they looked out to see the ground covered in snow with flakes falling from heaven.

According to the story, Saint Patrick did not know what to do with the snow. All he could think of was to wave the sign of the cross. Well thank God, the Lord knew what to do. Within a bat of the eye, the snow disappeared without a trace. About this time the head Druid priest pretty much just rolled his tongue off the floor and stuffed his eyes back in their sockets and signed up for Saint Patrick's next baptismal service. He left the Druidic priesthood to become a disciple of the man he was trying to kill. Thus, Saint Patrick lit a fire on Easter, chased some snakes (the symbol of the Celtic Druids), and announced a new King over Ireland - Jesus.

As I close the pages of this blog, I think of all the people out there celebrating this day without knowing the God of Saint Patrick. This tidbit doesn't even come close to telling the whole story of his life, including his abduction as a child, life as a slave, other challenges including an "air battle" with another Druid priest, and several angelic visitations. And yet most people know nothing of this man's faith and the power that came from it. A whole nation was changed when God showed up and proved He was real, because one man was a believer in a nation of unbelievers.

Right now, I'm speaking to a person who is looking for a reason to believe in God. Does anyone honestly think that Christianity had a snowball's chance in the fires of pagan Ireland before Saint Patrick brought the fires and snowballs of God to the island? Something miraculous had to happen to convert the entire nation to Christianity, these things don't just happen because somebody is a smooth talker. God proved Himself miraculously then and He is waiting to prove Himself for you today now right where you are. Look out the window of your questioning mind and feel the fire raging within the hill of your heart. Reach out and grasp the miracle snow that's waiting to land on your soul.
Saint Patrick was once asked by two princesses:

"Who is God?"
"And where is God?"
"Where is His dwelling?"
"Has He sons and daughters?"
"Is He rich in silver and gold?"
"Is He everlasting? is He beautiful?"
"Are His daughters dear and lovely to the men of this world?"
"Is He on the heavens or on earth?"
"In the sea, in rivers, in mountains, in valleys?"
"Make Him known to us. How is He to be seen?"
"How is He to be loved? How is He to be found?"
"Is it in youth or is it in old age that He may be found?"

But St. Patrick, filled with the Holy Spirit, answered them:
"God, whom we announce to you, is the Ruler of all things."
"The God of heaven and earth, of the sea and the rivers."
"The God of the sun, and the moon, and all the stars."
"The God of the high mountains and of the lowlying valleys."
"The God who is above heaven, and in heaven, and under heaven."
"His dwelling is in heaven and earth, and the sea, and all therein."
"He gives breath to all."
"He gives life to all."
"He is over all."
"He upholds all."
"He gives light to the sun."
"He imparts splendour to the moon."
"He has made wells in the dry land, and islands in the ocean."
"He has appointed the stars to serve the greater lights."
"His Son is co-eternal and co-equal with Himself."
"The Son is not younger than the Father."
"And the Father is not older than the Son."
"And the Holy Ghost proceeds from them."
"The Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost are undivided."
"But I desire by Faith to unite you to the Heavenly King, as you are daughters of an earthly king."

God desires the same thing. For you to know Him and for Him to make Himself known to you. Pinch yourself to know you're alive. As you do this, know that God is pinching you telling you the same thing. I'd love to just give Saint Patrick a big brotherly wet one right now on the cheek. Not for being Irish, but for being a hero. But I can't, so the best thing I can do on this day is celebrate him, learn from his faith, desire his fiery passion for God and people, and lastly propose a cheer in his honor:

"Here's to you St. Patty!"

To find more information about Saint Patrick visit www.saint-patrick.com. As of December 18th, Sister Martha and I have detached from the Salinas Section of the Northern Pacific Latin American District of the Assemblies of God to assume a new calling as missionaries to young adults. We were commissioned on Tuesday, December 20th church appointed missionaries of Christian Life Center of the Assemblies of God in Douglas Arizona. We will serve in this capacity while in the military and from our new ministry base at a rough place on earth known as Hawai'i.

As the year draws to a close, we say many thanks to God and to you our ministry partners for making dreams and the impossible come true. Thanks to your prayers and support in just 11 months we have been able to accomplish what we hoped to fulfill in 3 years. From our February Refrigerio/Revival Brochure:

“We plan to accomplish the vision by sponsoring evangelistic out-reaches, in-reaches, short term missions trips, ministry networking, campus ministries, as well as intense discipleship workshops. Our ministry will, therefore, be extremely evangelistic and discipleship oriented. We desire to leave youth forever changed and more equipped to fulfill the Great Commission.”

Over the past year, the youth of the Salinas Section sponsored, covered or participated in the following events:

Multimedia Uth Booth and Fundraiser (Salinas Section Revival Services)

Young Seven One Outreach Website (www.uthministries.blogspot.com)

Teambuilding Rally and Discipleship Workshops (Faith, Hope, and Love Center in Hollister)

Morgan Hill Outreach (Mount Madonna Park in Morgan Hill)

Navigators Workshop for Spirit West Coast Outreach (Sanctuary Bible Church in Carmel Valley)

Spirit West Coast Prayer Tent Outreach (Laguna Seca in Monterey Bay)

We Build People Young Adult Discipleship Course (Monterey Assembly of God)

Club Alpha Omega Young Adult Outreach (Seaside Assembly of God reaching the campus and young adult population of the Monterey Bay)

The Alpha Course Discipleship Course for Young Adults (at Club Alpha Omega)

Planet Young Seven One – A Web Portal Resource for Evangelism, Discipleship, Missions,Ministry Networking and More (www.lighthefire.com/dailyplanet)

Friend’s Day at the Beach In-reach (Window on the Bay Monterey)

Campus Days at Bethany University (Scotts Valley, California)

Section Connection Tours (Gilroy, Greenfield, Soledad, and Salinas)

Streets of Salinas Prayer Mini-workshop and Outreach (Templo Rosa de Saron and over 300 homes surrounding TRS)

Salinas Section Youth Christmas Banquet (Bay Park Hotel in Monterey)

Move the Nations Young Adult Conference with Pastor Roger Ovalle and the School of Urban Missions (Seaside Assembly of God)

LA Dream Center Short Term Missions Trip (Discipleship on the road and Christmas outreach at the Angelus Temple in downtown Los Angeles)

All Holy Revolution NPLAD Youth District Events (www.npladyouth.com)

What a whirlwind tour it has been! Although our deepest prayer was to leave the youth forever changed and more equipped, we have found that we have been the ones so transformed that we barely recognize ourselves.

Even though we leave ministry to youth indefinitely, we will continue to pray for and support youth ministry until we meet the Lord. We have dedicated both the Web Outreach and Planet Young Seven One to the Lord and to you the youth and friends of the Salinas Section. We will continue to support these web ministries to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ and to win, build, and send youth. Please feel free to drop us a line and check up on us at these sites. Young Seven One will live until Jesus returns on sites that are tied to tens of thousands of web blogs with potentially millions of visitors from all over the world!

We leave you with the Christmas Message we preached at our commissioning service:

There is a child of promise who was promised the nations from before the womb. There is a child of promise whose birth was celebrated by the angels. There is a child of promise who would grow to achieve the great and impossible things of God. There is a child of promise and that child of promise is you!

Happy Birthday Jesus and Mele Kalikimaka to Children of Promise everywhere,
Danny “DJ” and Martha Morales

Dreams Really Do Come True!

What an awesome missions trip it was!

Our team left the Monterey Bay on Friday afternoon December 16th for the missions field of downtown Los Angeles. There was much fellowship along the way. Upon arriving to Denny's Restaurant in an aptly named way-point called Lost Hills, I pulled out the team from their car and thus began a crash course in leadership development and teambuilding.

I held them in the frigid air to give them an apreciation for all the ministers around the world who at any given second endure cold and nakedness for the cause of Christ. We stayed under a bright street light in the Denny's parking lot in plain view of all the patrons who were walking into and out of the restaurant. We attracted a lot of attention to say the least. This was entirely the point. I wanted the team to realize that the call of minister will take them way out of their comfort zones. We circled up and prayed there in front of everyone, which became a requirement wherever we stopped or before we began a journey. This point was to illustrate the constant prayer that is involved in ministry.

Just before praying, I told our young adults that they had to chose individual team names which began with the title "Minister" to emphasize the point that all Christians are called to ministry and to build team cohesion and uniformity with a touch of creative individualism. Our team was thus composed of:

Minister Diamond
Minister Sonic
Minister Zion
Minister Firefox
and me ... Team Leader Drill Sergeant

As we entered Denny's, the Lord spoke to me and instructed me to teach the missions team a language that they were to assume they knew nothing about. They were to develop this language, they were to find new ways of expressing it, they were to, like all students of a new language, find those who speak this language fluently so that they could practice it with them, they were to even ask God to dream in this new language, they were to consciously attempt to speak this language at all times - the first syllables out of their mouth, and they were to lastly learn how to speak this language even in silence when no one else knew they were speaking it. The language they were to learn from this point on as if they had never known it before was the Language of Love. It is the language of the Promise Land and the Mission Field we had been called to - the language of the Kingdom of God and the Land of God's Heart.

The Missions Team straightwith found creative ways to express themselves in this new language. It was an accelerated language course for new missionaries and they passed the initial tests with flying colors. I constantly reminded them whether they were speaking in the language and I pointed to examples of how they had indeed spoken in this language whether they knew it or not.

As the team finished their dinner, they wrote a note to their server with a blessing on the receipt - in their newfound language of love. After a filling dinner, we headed out to Los Angeles. Along the way, we received a call from our good friend, Pastor Roger Ovalle of Bakersfield's Templo Calvario blessing our trip.

We arrived at our sponsor's home. Like many missionaries, we would stay in the home of pastors for our missions trip. My in-laws, Rev. Fernando and Norma Torres Spanish Pastors at Harbor Christian Center in Wilmington California were our sponsors for the team. They treated the team as royalty, with comfortable furnishings and awesome cooking. The team castigated me a little for not having introduced them earlier to Sister Martha's family.

That Friday night, I kept the team up until 2:00 in the morning. I wanted them to feel the pain of a sleepless night for the ministry. I read to them a devotional from 2 Corinthians 11:23-30. It is a message of the true meaning of taking up the cross for Jesus and what the cost of ministry is all about. It is a message for all those who feel they are really suffering for the ministry, it is a message to all the consumers in the body of Christ who should be producers, it is a message to all those who are afraid of becoming mentors because they feel weak or because they are afraid of failure, and it is a message to all those who make this excuse or that argument for not fulfilling their callings even though so many like the Apostle Paul gave so much for them to do so:

2 Cornthians 11:23-30:
23Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. 24Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, 26I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. 27I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. 28Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. 29Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn? 30If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

The last thing I shared with the team that night was about how the Lord had first showed me the importance of seeking the gift of love. He did it through a remarkable sign and wonder that involved a supernatural visitation that my father had. The story can be found at our Light the Fire Ministries site: The Radiant Face of My Dad. Before they went to sleep, I told the team that my prayer for them was that they would meditate on 1 Corinthians 13, a Scripture nestled between the Ministry Gifts of the Holy Spirit, and that they would dream in the Language of Love.

The next morning, we awoke to a wonderful breakfast made by Pastor Norma. I gave them a ministry topic to meditate on throughout the day.

To Minister Diamond: Excellence and how it relates to Ministry
To Minister Zion: Sacrifice and how it relates to Ministry
To Minister Sonic: Obedience and how it relates to Ministry
To Minister Firefox: Committment and how it relates to Ministry

They are to provide to me a three point sermonette as follow-up and follow-through, two of my favorite "F" words in ministry.

Pastor Fernando Torres also took the time to speak into their lives that morning to encourage the team, for this we are so grateful.

Then we were off to the Dream Center and the historic Angelus Temple! On our way there we sang Praise and Worship songs and invited the Lord into our midst while Bro Izzy navigated the terrors of the mission field highways and byways in Greater Los Angeles.

The Short Term Missions Staff had made room for our team as all the outreaches had been cancelled that weekend to focus all efforts on this year's Dramatic Musical Production - "The Joy of Christmas."

We so thank their Staff for making our dreams come true for this missions trip. Our team was to be the final act in their Christams production! As the cast and crew applauded the exiting inner city children, we would be at the tail end right there with Pastor Matthew Barnett to pass out wrapped Christmas presents to the children. Our team made up the bulk of the Christmas Giveway crew. We were there to make dreams come true to inner city children!

We were so blessed in so many ways by our support to the Dream Center and Angelus Temple. We had the chance to see the Christmas production not once but twice. For anyone who has ever seen a production at Phoenix First Assembly of God where Pastor Matthew Barnett's father pastors, they would know the level of excellence that goes into these productions. We had full backstage passes and had the privilege of telling ushers and crew that we were a part of the production! We learned so much about the Dream Center and Angelus Temple from their awesome staff.

After the production, we bumped into the coolest crew of young adults who are involved in a new ministry amongst actors and movie professionals - Bro David, Bro June and Bro Chris you guys are hillarious. Go Team Turtleneck! We wish you guys all the best and are praying for you...

We drove back to Sister Martha reheating delicious green-chile enchiladas prepared by Pastor Norma. We sang anointed songs of worship into the night using Pastor Fernando's guitar.

The next morning, we attended Harbor Christian Center and were treated to an awesome worship service led by Minister Liz Guiterrez and a powerful message from the Word by Senior Pastor Don Ezell. That morning, he spoke on the Miracle Gift of every created life and a moving story called Two Babies in a Manger.

After service it was back to the Torres home for one last meal and a final farewell to the team. The Lord had put words in my heart for each team member. It was such a blessing as we prayed with them and hugged them goodbye. Sister Martha, the boys, and I left them in the care of our family as we left to start our vacation with a special treat by my nephew and his girlfriend at Chuck-E-Cheese's. It would be a while before we'd see them again as we leave for the mission field as Young Adult Missionaries. What an amazing missions trip it was. Our dreams really did come true!

Salinas Section Youth Christmas Banquet 2005

We were so blessed by a Special Christmas event that had been in the making for over a year. Last night, the friends of Salinas Section Youth Ministries came together to break gourmet bread and feast under the fine dining roof of Monterey's Bay Park Hotel.

We celebrated a year of partaking in the vision of Young Seven One and Holy Revolution (thank you DYD Dan Garza for bringing a Revolution to our District) with a special slideshow. Our guests were then welcomed with the real meaning of Christmas as inspired by "A Charlie Brown Christmas." Pastor David Prado of Hollister's Faith, Hope and Love Center opened in prayer to kick off the nights festivities in anointed order.

We blessed the name of the Lord and sang spontaneous songs of praise and worship unto the "Reason for the Season." After basking in the bounty of the Lord's presence an elegant dinner was served by an outstanding crew from the Bay Park. The portions of Tri-tip, Cornish Game Hen and Halibut were large and the soft drinks flowed. It was almost the picture of the Lord's banqueting table.

Our guests speakers that special night were the Rev. Harry and Shirl Gamotan of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship and Ministry Coordinators for Spirit West Coast at Monterey and Del Mar San Diego. In a short span of time, they spoke volumes of twin powerful testimonies. Some gems gleaned from their stories were that God breathes purpose into every unborn child from the womb, that God is the God of second chances, nothing is impossible for God especially when it comes to unsaved loved ones, and that nothing is hidden from a God who is calling us to honesty in all we do. The banquet guests were deeply moved by Rev. Harry and Sister Shirl who are powerfully anointed speakers of the Word of God. Before they returned to enjoy their dessert, we blessed them with a special prayer covering and a small token of our gratitude.

Pastor Prado assumed the podium thereafter and gave a tearful and moving tribute as Sectional Christian Education Director to Brother Danny and Sister Martha Morales (thank you Pastor David for your kind words and immortal plaque!).

We closed out the night by waking up the guests of the Bay Park with our joyous and bilingual singing of Silent Night/Noche de Paz and Jose Feliciano's Feliz Navidad/I Wanna Wish You A Merry Christmas. Bro. Ruben Aguilar, Youth Leader of Lirio del Valle Gilroy called for a special prayer over Brother Danny and Sister Martha Morales as they depart the Salinas Section for the mission field. He then dismissed a memorable evening in prayer, fulfilling the dream of our year-end Christmas Banquet.

Many thanks to:

Sister Martha Morales for coordinating the entire event

Mr. James Michael, Ms. Belinda and the staff of the Bay Park Hotel for your fine food & service

Sister Marisela Maldonado of Communidad Cristiana of Salinas for your outstanding interpretation for the entire night!

Brother Izzy Ruiz of Hollister's Faith Hope and Love Center for equipment storage, transportation and setup, as well as for your great guitar and bowstaff skillz

Sisters Shirl and Mellissa of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship of Salinas for blessing us with Rich Mullins' "Awesome God"

Pastor David Prado for opening and your memorable tribute

Sister Vicki of Club Alpha Omega, Borante and Jazzy Amezaga for watching our babies for the night!

Brother Ruben Aguilar of Lirio del Valle Youth Ministries for your anointed part in the evening's closing

The youth crew of Hollister's Faith Hope and Love Center (Bros. Jesus, Noelio, and Jonathan) and Calvary Chapel Monterey Bay's Bro. Abram and Sister Jenni for all your help in breakdown and transportation of equipment - you all got my back!

Mr. John Kopp of Naval Research Laboratory Monterey Marine Division and Bro. Casey Wiley of Seaside Assembly of God for equipment loans

And for all who came and blessed us with your presence that night. Merry Christmas and Happy Holy Days!

Club Alpha Omega's Move The Nations Conference

Click Above for Larger Image

Young Adults and Youth are invited to Club Alpha Omega's Move The Nations Young Adult Conference this coming Tuesday December 13th to Thursday the 14th at 7:00PM. Located in the heart of the inner city of Los Angeles in the former Queen of Angeles Hospital, the 1400 room facility consists of almost 400,000 square feet in buildings on 8.8 acres of prime commercial real estate. The church operates over 175 ministries, reaching out to gang members, drug addicts, unwed mothers, children without parents, halfway house for released prisoners, feeding the homeless and needy, motorcycle groups, taggers, AIDS victims, and various subcultures, ethnic, and nationality groups. Miracles take place there daily at the “Dream Center”, so called because people are given an opportunity to “Dream Again”. Hard-core prayer walkers from Templo Rosa de Saron, Gilroy's Lirio del Valle, Hollister's Faith, Hope, and Love Center and Monterey Bay's Club Alpha Omega showed up to take Jesus to the streets and doorways surrounding Templo Rosa de Saron. It was such a success that numbers can not even begin to tell.

Before we hit the streets, I read from the fourth chapter of the Book of Acts where it speaks of the Believer's Prayer. In part, they prayed the following: "Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus." Our team of prayer walkers was about to walk the streets and visit homes that have been threatened for far too long by violence and by the forces of darkness. Our team was about to act out in boldness. And the Lord's hands were about to be stretched out through us from the Section of Salinas, from Club Alpha Omega and from Templo Rosa de Saron to perform signs and wonders. Behind us stood you our prayer partners who were there in the Spirit. And ahead of us, stood our promise from God for the homes that we visited, for the requests we took and for our lives:

"After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly"

To put things in perspective, the team I was in passed out 30 prayer reminders into the hands of Salinas residents. The prayer reminder cards were requesting prayer AGAINST violence on the streets of Salinas and FOR a move of God in the city. We had 10 teams of two to three people each. Each team hit at least 20 homes. The team I was in alone hit about 100 homes. We prayed for every doorway that we came across. That means that well over 300 homes in the area surrounding Templo Rosa de Saron were prayed over. That is a blessing over a home that DID NOT exist over that home before we came along.

We did not preach to people and we did not shove the Bible down throats. All we did was take prayer requests, pass out FREE prayer cards to remind people to pray for the City of Salinas, and ask if anybody needed help in their yards. Instead of us inviting people to church, people were asking us for directions to Templo Rosa de Saron so that they could visit there the next day (Sunday)!

Some people had tears in their eyes as they asked for prayer for their families. One lady asked for prayer because she could not sleep at night and she feared that she had a tumor. Another family brought their epileptic four-year old daughter to us so that we could lay hands on her. As we prayed the epileptic spirit in the girl manifested with shrieks and fits. We encouraged the family to go to church to seek more ministry. Whether team member's individual experience was good or bad they can take heart in knowing that they were a part of something so awesome, that only God knows the extent of what took place! You took the blood and you applied it to homes that most likely did not have it on their thresholds. You challenged people to pray for their cities in a targeted fashion and some are praying now because of what you did. You went out of your comfort zones to bless total strangers. Your feet brought good news and hope to those who were in need. For that I am so proud of you and thankful for your service unto God. Do not minimize your contribution or experience for you have grown by it. The sacrifice is what you make of it. The Lord delights in a cheerful giver!

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:

"He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever."Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!" (2 Corinthians 9:6-15)

The highlight for me was at the end when we assembled at the church again and prayed with one mind and with one spirit for all the hundreds of prayer requests that we received. Let me tell you the power of God was present when we extended our hands toward those requests. As we stretched our hands I felt God stretch out His to perform signs and wonders. The youth worship team of Temple Rosa de Saron put their garments of praise on and invited a spirit of dancing to settle on the assembled worshippers. The mighty presence of our Lord broke out into the sanctuary amongst the youth.

The worship service was a wonderful lead in to that night's forceful message to a group of youth who are on the march. God had put a word in me that made me shudder just to ponder it in my heart. His word came to me weeks before that night's service. He told me, speak this word to them. "Tell them it is time to put down their tents of transfiguration and march on the city." The Holy Spirit led me to the account of our Lord's transfiguration. He reminded me of a lesson learned by 17th century Christians in Japan and the lesson of Marco Polo's expedition to China. He revealed to me on the road to Salinas, a powerful illustration of how simple the concepts of evangelism, discipleship and missions really are.

In Matthew 17, the Lord Jesus took up a select few of His disciples to a quote "high mountain." There He was transfigured in all His glory before them. One would think that the Apostle Peter would have something more motivational to say than, and I paraphrase, "it's so awesome God to be here. Can we, like, put up three big revival tents, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah?" From the account, it seems that Jesus just ignored his suggestion. The voice of the Lord thundered and said "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!."

The Lord led me then to some of the last words uttered by the Lord here on this earth before He ascended. The Lord told His disciples, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.." If somebody is going to utter their last words, it goes without saying that these are very important words, and we should listen.

Thoughts raced through my mind as God reminded me of the Japanese revolt in the 1630s by Christians. Here's a snippet of the account found at the Christian History Institute's Site. The account is quite tragic as it led to the bloody end of open Christianity for almost three hundred years:

Because of the isolated situation of the (Shimabara) peninsula and the Amakusa islands, Christianity made greater headway there than in the rest of Japan. The new Christians, with more zeal than understanding, were filled with Messianic hope. Many joined the rebellion. It proved costly to the future of the faith in the islands of the rising sun.

The lords of Nagasaki, who had recently departed for Edo (Tokyo) rushed back to defend the city. In December, a force of 3,000 men stormed Amakusa but all but 200 died in the offensive. During the fight, Christians waved banners and shouted the names of Jesus and Mary. Afterwards, they tore down Japanese religious symbols and raised Christian ones in their place. The invocation of Jesus and Mary did not bring victory in the next battle, however.

A thousand Amakusa survivors fled to join 35,000 rebels in Shimabara. The rebels assaulted the principle government fortress and almost captured it. Having failed, they holed up in the Hara fortress where they were led by Masuda Shiro, a brilliant young strategist whose age is variously estimated between fifteen and nineteen, and who went by the Christian name Jerome (sometimes given as Jeronimo).

Statue of the Teenage Christian Revolutionary Leader

Aided by severe cold, they inflicted major defeats on the government forces. In one night tally alone, they killed 2,000 of the government's 100,000 troops. Despite its cannon, the government could not dislodge the rebels and lost over 8,000 men in January and February while the rebels lost hardly a soul. Japan asked a Dutch ship to shell the Hara Fortress, which it did, but with little effect, except to lose two of their own men to rebel sharpshooters.

But the end was inevitable. Having held out for four months, the rebels ran low on food. Deserters reported this to the government. Encouraged by the news, government forces began an all-out assault on the fortress on this day, April 12, 1638. It took them three days to overcome the desperate peasants and their Christian allies. Afterward, Christianity was strictly banned from Japan as a troublesome religion.

Can you believe this? At the beginning, these Christian warriors miraculously overcame seemingly insurmountable odds. They could have marched on to the Shogun's capital of Japan. They had victory in their sites, but what did they do? They decided to set up a tent of transfiguration in the Castle of Hara. They shut themselves and their families up within the four walls of their mega-church fortress. They stored food and their energies and thought they were secure. They thought that they could perpetuate their rebellion by saving themselves instead of taking more and more of the enemy's territory. They had the momentum on their side and instead of chosing battle and a certain victory, they chose security and comfort. Dear Lord, can we modern-day Christians learn from this story? Because of their mentality, they all lost their heads and lost the opportunity to establish the Christian faith throughout Japan! Just think of how many lives could have been saved 300 years later? The Japanese invasion of China, the attack on Pearl Harbor, the attrocities of Bataan, the bloody war in the Pacific, and the atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima?

The Lord also reminded me of the story of the Polo Brothers, Niccolo and Maeffo, and Niccolo's seventeen year-old son the famous Marco Polo who travelled to Mongol-controlled China in the mid 12oos. At the climax of their travels, they came to the court of the Great Kublai Khan, Mongol emperor of China. It is said that Kublai Khan was so intrigued by the claims of Christ that he said, "You send me a hundred men skilled in your religion and I shall be baptized and all my subjects will study Christianity too. There will then be more Christians in the East than in the West." They returned to Italy and reported this to the Pope. Instead of the 100 skilled men who were requested, only two missionaries were appointed by the Pope to return to China and both of them turned back after they experienced hardships along the Silk Road trade route to China.

Oh come on now, what in the world was the church thinking? It would be like somebody coming up to you and saying we have a whole city that is dying to hear the message of Christ, all you got to do is go door-to-door and shine the light of Christ in their lives by taking prayer requests and they will believe. Or maybe, it's like somebody coming up to you and saying there is a whole school that would experience revival if your youth group started a Bible Club on the campus. Or what about this situation, somebody comes up to you and says, "our workplace is full of people that are starving to have the bread of life that you have, can you please share it with them, they're waiting for you in the office break room and outside in the office patio?" Oh wait a minute, these are wrong anologies to the Marco Polo and Japanese Christian Revolution stories. Or are they?

The Lord on the road to Salinas spoke a powerful, yet so unbelievaly simple, word to me about evangelism, discipleship, and missions. I felt Him whisper to me, "you know why people do not go out of their comfort zones when it comes to these three things? Because they're scared and because they think it's too hard. Show them that they have all they need in their mouths, hands and feet. Their mouths are for evangelism because my Covenant is on their lips. With their hands they disciple by service to others - by building people up. And with their feet, they obey my Great Commission to go!" Ok, STOP, Hammer Time. If that word don't give some preaching material, then I must have been hearing voices in my head on that lonely road to Salinas.

Allright, let's synthesize everything together. If we live from one spiritual high to the next and do not come off the mountain to spread the hope of glory in the streets, we are just as guilty of the Apostle Peter's immaturity. We might as well construct Jesusland the Theme Park and a Magic Kingdom of God and charge admission. We might as well sell churros for communion bread and Boisenberry Punch for the fruit of the vine. We might as well have "It's a Small Comfortable World After All" playing over loud speakers. If we stay in our comfortable revival tents of transfiguration, then we seclude ourselves from the world and the world from us. We become an unreachable and unreaching Neverland. We live in a wonderland where all we do is come to church to hop on the next thrill ride and compete with one another for the biggest spiritual thrill. And all this is happening when there is a world outside who has no clue why we are screaming for joy inside our Holy Spirit-filled theme parks. We have become the consumer society that we so often preach against. Where are the producers of His kingdom? Where are those who will take down their tents of transfiguration and share revival with those que no saben ni papa de Cristo (those who know nothing of Christ)?

Mountain top experiences are great. Encuentros, Revival services, and yes, Youth Conventions got it going on. Powerful visitations from God can keep us talking about them for years. But if we make our mountain top experiences into our comfort zones; if we make our shut-ins into shut-outs; if we store up for ourselves revival pan dulce (or mannah) from heaven; if we pop up tents of transfiguration; if we do not take back more and more of the enemy's territory OUTSIDE the four walls of our churches and convention halls; if we do not hear the calling of the masses who would believe if they just heard, and if we listen to our fears reverberate within our comfort zones, than we might as well tell Jesus "that's it God! We have hereby accomplished the Great Commission. The measure of the Gentile redeemed is full. Come on down and beam us up Lordy!

I praise God for the angelic visitations that I have had, one day I'll write about them. They'll knock your socks off; trust me. But Lord help me if I waste time doing these things when I could be sharing my faith with others. As you read this, someone on the other side of the world who does not know God is reading it with you. Please pray for that precious person right now. If that person is you, God loves you and has a plan for your life. You are not an accident and not a product of random chance. You have a future in God. Find Jesus today!

Supernatural experiences serve their purpose and I praise God for them. But it doesn't end there. It's only the beginning. We as Christians have a job to do and it's not collecting welfare checks at church. Our job is not constantly looking for more impartations and anointing from God. Good grief Charlie Brown, as my dad says all the time, you got the Holy Spirit with you, you got a mouth, hands, and the Pata Mobile (feet). Don't be scurd (scared). Don't be discouraged for the Lord thy God is with thee. God has anointed you to preach the Good News, to liberate the captive, to make the lame walk and the blind to see and to declare the year of the Lord's favor. To advance the kingdom and take back what the enemy has stolen. God the Father says "listen to my Son." The Son says "Go." And the Spirit says "I am with you always."

Streets of Salinas Outreach

Streets of Salinas Prayer Revolution
Visit the Evite!

What if some man dressed in grave clothes knocked on your door and said:

"hello my name is Lazarus and I'm here on behalf of somebody you used to know but who is no longer alive. That person sent me to tell you from the grave that hell really does burn and that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. And, oh by the way, do you have a frozen bottle of Gatorade you can loan me so I can take it to hell to quench some thirst?"

Well I'm sure we'd probably get to about that point, slam the door, dead bolt it, run to the phone and call the police. Why? Because, who would believe such a story?

Jesus said the same thing in the good news book of Luke Chapter 16. Speaking of a dead man who begged the patriarch Abraham from across the gulf between the place of torment and paradise:

"I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.' "Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.' " 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.' "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

Dead people do not make good evangelists so it seems. Thank God that there still are living Moseses and Prophets among us who can knock on the doors of people's hearts and homes. In the book of Romans, we find a very motivating challenge to us the living breathing followers of Christ:

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

This November 19th, Salinas Section Youth Ministries and Club Alpha Omega cordially invite you to take a living Jesus to the streets of Salinas California. Do we really need to have a vision of hell's realities in surround sound, subtitles, and DVD features to motivate us to accept the message and take it to the streets? If you did have such a vision, I'm sure you'd have the living h-e-double toothpicks scared out of you and you'd be knocking on my door right now as I type this to make sure that I believed. Does Jesus have to appear behind us and tap us on the shoulder as we read this line to ask us "so, I was just wondering, when are we going to come out of the closet about our relationship? When are you going to march down the street in a parade hand in hand with me? After all, everybody else is..."

C'mon preach it man, woman and child. I gotta new slogan, DWJS, Do What Jesus Said:
"What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs . . . I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God. But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God." (Luke 12:3,8-9)

I know you're getting your Holy Ghost sneakers on right now and taking out your street maps because the day is coming says the Lord that you will be moved from your perch, you will be moved from your dens and hiding places. You the righteous ones of my body will sprout legs and you will walk the streets and people will follow you to the open courts. They will follow you to hear what you have to say for I have put the message in your mouth and have seasoned their hearts to receive a word that they do not know. For my time is coming and the time is now that you will testify of me before men and hasten my coming. For the measure is almost nigh and the fullness of God's wrath is coming and you will be moved by my Spirit to do these things, because the last days are here and the year of the Lord's favor is today!

Oh my, I never saw that one coming. I just blogged it as it came. You know everybody is in a protest mood these days. Screaming and hollering. Burning people in effigy. How bout we take to the streets and burn the devil in effigy and just call him a liar! That's who he is and what's going to happen to him anyways. Dear Jesus, let's just have a street movement of disenfranchised Christians. Let's just protest against the world (its influences) and lift up the banner of Christ. Let's sing freedom songs of Jesus down the road and hold up traffic so that our voice is heard and our images are seen next to those coming from Washington DC and the world. Instead of Vote for Pedro and anti W shirts, why don't we just wear Vote for Jesus and anti-S for "Satan" and "Sin" all over us, just spray paint it all over our lives.

The Youth, Young Adults and Friends of Salinas Section Youth Ministries and Club Alpha Omega will be doing something just as revolutionary in the city of Salinas California on November 19th when they begin a prayer revolution over the city of Salinas. The featured flier above says it all, please click it for a larger image. In closing, Jesus is knocking on your door. Please open it up. I beg you: Follow Christ.

Upcoming Short Term Missions Trip!

As mentioned on the flier and on our calendar, we will be sponsoring a Short Term Missions Trip to the Los Angeles Dream Center for youth and young adults ages 16 and up. The mission trip dates are December 16, 17, and 18. The cost for the weekend (not including gas and spending money) is $35 for those who want to stay off campus and $106 for those who want to stay on the LA Dream Center campus.
