Goodbye Autumn.

noreply@blogger.com (Sally Townsend) — Mon, 01 Dec 2014 17:18:00 +0000

I think this is (and ought to be...) my final Autumn themed illustration of the year.
It was a re-jig of an older piece that I loved the colour and textures too much to discard. It goes back to my earlier work which included a heavy use of texture and real organic elements (see the scanned in leaves?). I tried to incorporate this into my newer, more clinical work and better understanding of colour... sort of combine the best of both styles.

Updating portfolio...

noreply@blogger.com (Sally Townsend) — Mon, 17 Nov 2014 14:18:00 +0000

I've been working on updating my portfolio and have been 'rescuing' a few pieces that I didn't quite get right the first time, but were too good (in my eyes!) to discard completely.

An updated "Party" illustration (also works as a repeat pattern)

I made this a while ago, but forgot to post the full pattern!

I decided to continue experimenting with slightly unconventional colours for my characters.
