BOSTON, MA – After over two years of development and testing, Cheeky Fly Fishing has
launched its full line of five fly fishing reels. The Company now offers fly reels for every
situation—from tiny bluegill to massive sharks.

New to the Cheeky Fly Fishing line are the Stealth 325, Thrash 475 and Dozer 525 fly reels,

With its massive 5.25 inch diameter, the Dozer 525 is designed to withstand battles against the
ocean’s most ferocious beasts. The Dozer’s MAX Arbor is critical for the blistering run of a
mako, and the 600+ yard backing capacity provides the confidence you need in your blue water
fly reel.

From tarpon to roosterfish, the Thrash 475 is the ideal weapon for big game inshore fly
fishing. The reel’s fully sealed synthetic disc drag system has the stopping power to reign in the

Rapid Fire Drag for accurate ‘during the fight’ adjustments

IRVINE, Calif. – ICAST Show 2012 Introduction – Solid feel from new proprietary material, and the ability to easily adjust the drag while fighting a fish are two of the key features behind Shimano’s redesigned Saros FA spinning reels. The series brings a complete upgrade to all four sizes available – 1000FA, 2500FA, 3000FA, 4000FA – with a long list of Shimano reel technology to battle anything from trout and panfish, to bass, walleye, stripers, redfish, snook, bonefish and more.

Anglers will find Shimano’s unique XGT7 graphite in the frame, rotor and sideplate construction. According to Ken Iida with Shimano’s product development team, XGT7 provides superior strength and durability, plus an exceptionally solid feel. “We then combine that construction with our X-Ship technology with its double bearing supported pinion gear for solid cranking power. Anglers will experience increased gearing efficiency and power, providing for ultra-light handle rotation and a smooth, effortless retrieve.”

And when you are hooked-up, anglers have the convenience – and reliability – of Shimano’s Rapid Fire Drag. “While it provide for easy and accurate drag adjustments when fighting a fish,” Iida notes, “Rapid Fire Drag really comes into play when you realize that shore lunch size walleye you hooked has turned into one that could go double-digits.”

Included in all four Saros FA reels is a long-list of proven Shimano features, from Propulsion Line Management System to virtually eliminate any line twist and increase casting distance, Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement, SR Concept, Aero Wrap II, Dyna-Balance and Super Stopper II. They all have five S A-RB shielded bearings, and a one-way roller bearing to eliminate any handle backplay.

Each with 6:1 gear ratios, the SAR-1000FA – with spool capacity to handle 2- to 6-pound mono or 10- to 20-pound PowerPro braid, will retrieve in 29-inches of line per crank, while the SAR-2500FA – for 6- to 10-pound test mono or 10- to 30-pound PowerPro, pulls in 34-inches, and the SAR-3000FA – for 6- to 10-pound test mono or 10- to 40-pound PowerPro, cranks in 35-inches. With a 6.2:1 gear ratio, the SAR-4000FA retrieves 39-inches of line crank and can handle from 8- to 12-pound mono or 15- to 50-pound PowerPro.

“We bring what anglers expect in spinning reels from Shimano to this new Saros FA series,” said Iida. “You’ll find technology and design concepts from our award-wining Stella FE, Sustain FG and Stradic FJ series – providing anglers with out-of-the-box smooth and performance for the life of the reel.”

For more information on the new Saros FA spinning reels – available in 1000 to 4000 sizes, visit the Shimano web site – www.shimano.com – call Shimano’s product support team at 877/577-0600 (6 am to 5 pm Pacific Standard Time) – or visit your local tackle dealer.

MSRP – SAR-1000FA, 2500FA, 3000FA – $139.99; SAR-4000FA – $149.99

ICAST Show 2021 – Orlando, USA – ‘Best New Fly Rod’ New Product Showcase Winner

WOODLAND, Washington USA – 2012 ICAST Show Introduction – When first introduced in 2010, the G.Loomis NRX rods provided fly anglers with a revolutionary new rod design recipe. For 2013, the trout fishing line-up expands with new ‘Light Presentation’ 3, 4 and 5 weight rods, and 3 and 4 weight Czech and dead-drift nymphing rods. G.Loomis offers each fly rod in both its ‘stealthy’ matte black/blue wrap blank, and the more traditional Evergreen color.

(Editor’s Note: G.Loomis further expands the NRX fly series with three new ‘Light Presentation’ rods, two new Nymph rods, four new spey/two-handed models, a special ‘Scandi’ two-handed rod, and five new one-piece ‘PRO-1’ saltwater fly rods)

With all its NRX fly rods, “we rely on the talents of folks like chief rod designer and his worldwide team to build the best we possibly can,” said Justin Poe, global brand manager for G.Loomis, “Winning product design awards is always a positive – and we truly appreciate the past honors at the EFFTEX and ICAST shows – but really with NRX, we also want to show our commitment to fly anglers everywhere, and design and build a more diverse selection of rods for all types of fly-fishing situations.”

The NRX ‘Light Presentation’ (LP) fly rods are ideal when conditions call for long, delicate casts with extremely light leaders to target spooky fish. The 3-weight NRX 1043-3LP – an 8’8” rod – is for accurate approaches in clear streams and ponds, and also high mountain lakes and streams. For longer casts and soft presentations, there’s the 9’ NRX 1084-4LP, a 4-weight for extremely clear waters – while the 5-weight NRX 1085-5LP is the all-around 9’ rod in the line-up.

With the two new 10’ nymph rods, fly anglers are offered the longer rod length plus powerful fast-action tapers for both Czech nymphing and lobbing weighted nymphs upstream, and also for ‘dead-drifting’ with either weighted or unweighted nymphs. The NRX1203-4 Nymph is the 3-weight for light leaders and targeting smaller trout, while the 4-weight NRX 1204-4 Nymph is for slightly heavier leaders and is extra stiff to ‘pull’ weighted nymphs.

All the NRX fly rods feature black Ion coated REC Recoil guides. Each features a custom reel seat – proprietary to G.Loomis – making it easy to lock the reel in. The grips feature a G.Loomis design, where the cork transitions to provide more sensitivity where needed, and then more durability in areas where needed.

“Since their inception, NRX fly rods have been all about line on the water sensitivity that anglers have never felt before – either in a G.Loomis rod or any other,” Poe states. “And with these new LP and nymph rods, we’re addressing the global strength of our brand by providing anglers with the right rod needed for the different fly-fishing technique used around the world. At G.Loomis, we continue to say these rods have life. Fish one and you’ll quickly feel what we mean.”

As with all G.Loomis rods, the NRX models are manufactured in the USA. For more information on the new NRX LP and Nymph fly rods), visit gloomis.com, call 800/GLoomis, or stop by your nearest G.Loomis tackle dealer.

MSRP – LP fly rods from $735 to $755; Czech nymph rods $775 for #3, $785 for #4

Now You Can Really Get Down
With Power-Pole

Introducing the Power-Pole Downrigger.

TAMPA, FL – JL Marine Systems, Inc. introduces a quick and easy way for deep water
fishing to really get down, the Power-Pole Downrigger. Power-Pole is the original shallow
water anchor and has changed the world of fishing. Once again, Power-Pole is leading the
way to a smarter way to fish, now in deep water. The new Power-Pole Downrigger is a simple
accessory that slides onto the Power-Pole spike and lets you get your bait down to exactly
where the fish are. Like an electric downrigger, the Power-Pole Downrigger lets you adjust
tension on the snap release clip so when the line pops out, you’re ready to reel ‘em in.

The Power-Pole Downrigger allows easy access as the retracted spike puts the snap-release
clip in easy reach and the anchor hydraulics let you put exactly the right amount of tension on
the line and rod. Each Power-Pole Downrigger accommodates one line on the clip and if
you’re using dual Power-Pole anchors with Downriggers you could be running tow lines
simultaneously and at staggered line lengths.

The Power-Pole anchor allows you to adjust the depth of the bait with the touch of a button
and keeps it in position until you change it.There’s no need for heavy ball weights, if you
want to get your bait even deeper you can simple use the right dive plug, then make depth
adjustments on the fly, your Power-Pole does all the work. For even more accurate control,
use the Power-Pole Downrigger with your sonar device. Watching the sonar you can raise
and lower the bait as the fish appear on the screen or you can raise and lower to follow the
bottom terrain.

Power-Pole shallow water anchors aren’t just a great way to anchor your boat in shallow
water, they’re right at home in deep water as well. With the new Downrigger accessory your
Power-Pole can multi-task, so there’s no need for an additional electric downrigger and
Power-Pole gives you all the downrigger depth accuracy and control you want at the touch of
a button.

Like to drift fish in deep water? Try the new Power-Pole Drift Paddle, another innovation that’s
changing deep-water fishing. For more information on the complete line of Power-Pole
shallow water anchors and accessories, go to www.power-pole.com

New Bombshell Crab – The First Truly “Fishable” Crab Imitation Lure

Featuring pulsating claws and legs, this lure can be rigged through the tail section and up into the hook channel along the center of its belly to provide a perfectly balanced, weedless presentation. A jig head or pegged bullet-style weight will keep the tail down and the claws up, imitating a live crab in defense mode – nothing elevates a predator’s striking instincts more!

The hook pocket helps to position the hook point for in-line weedless fishing and provides efficient hook-sets through the thinner body. When rigged, the lure drops and rests on the bottom in a natural, defensive (claws up) position to produce aggressive strikes in open water. The tail end is conical-shaped to fit bullet-style worm weights perfectly, and the wide saucer-shaped body is great for skip-casting the Bombshell Crab under docks, mangroves or other structure and provides a slower more natural descent.

BEST RESULTS: forward-weighted jig hook or 1/8-1/4 oz. bullet-style weight pegged to the tail and 3/0 worm hook Texas-rigged up into the hook pocket.

The 3” Bombshell Crab is available in 6-count resealable bags, color options include; #04 Juvenile Green, #18 Motor Oil Flake, #19 Electric

Blue, #38 Chix Flix, #51 Red Silver Flake, #D1 Smoke Gold Flake, #D9 Nite Glow and #P2 Rootbeer Gold Flake.

Suggested retail price: $5.99

“Russian scientists have released footage of what’s believed to be the world’s only all-white adult male orca, which belongs to a small pod known to inhabit waters off Russia’s Commander Islands in the Bering Sea. The orca was named “Iceberg” because of the way its towering white dorsal fin broke the surface of the chilly waters east of the Kamchatka Peninsula.”
