I found this picture on my Sports Illustrated App for the web browser Google Chrome. They usually have the traditional american sports, but I am very wrong to think this this way because they do put up international sports as i found out today.

Sports Illustrated added this Formula One Picture of Mark Webber practicing in Barcelona. The name of this picture is called "Gives you Wings." Ironically, Mark Webber has flown a car before (ouch!), but I just really admire this picture. It is definialty my background wallpaper at the moment.

Carbon Fiber Skin

I recently bought a new Macbook skin for my laptop! I bought this Carbon Fiber looking skin from Ebay at $20. The price is kind of steep, considering it is not real carbon fiber, but I thought it's worth every penny.

This skin is amazing! The carbon fiber looks pretty authentic. I compared the skin to real carbon fiber in a side by side comparison and you couldn't tell the difference until you really looked closely. The texture is disappointing as the sticker felt very rough when i ran my fingers across the skin. Nevertheless, What makes it even much cooler is that the apple logo on my Macbook fits perfectly with the cut out. It did take sometime to match the logo perfectly, but I'm glad it turned out beautifully!

What does this have to do with cars? Well, todays high-end sports cars strive to incorporate as much carbon fiber into their car design because it is a very light weight material while still remaining strong.

A perfect manufacture that comes into mind is Pagani Automobili S.p.A. Pagani, the Italian Manufacture that began its company by creating Lamborghini's composites, thus incorporating carbon fiber into Lamborghini's supercars. Carbon fiber is pretty damm expensive by the way. You can find rolls of carbon fiber at over $1000 on Ebay.

Carbon fiber is pretty sick! Apart from purchasing thus skin for Macbooks, there are also iphone cases and other kool vinyls to make your things look like real carbon fiber. I posted some pictures below of real carbon fiber in Pagani's cars.

Formula One. The Greatest Motorsport Series is going to lose its first race at Bahrain. The news as I heard it on Fast Lane Daily, explained that the first race of 2011 championship will be canceled due to civil unrest.

Bahrain is undergoing tough times and unfortunately we will have to wait 2 more weeks until F1 could kick the season up in Melbourne! Meanwhile we can enjoy more NASCAR racing and the American Le Mans Series will start its first race on March 19th for the 12 hours at Sebring!

I was driving down Pacific Coast Highway when suddenly I saw a Lamborghini Gallardo sitting in a parking lot! I decided to buy a parking ticket so that I may take my pictures. The f***** parking ticket was $6! I don't regret it though, this Gallardo is truly dashing. It has unique paint stripes that go from the rear to the front. Hopefully you enjoy the pictures at no cost.

PARIS (AP) - Lotus Renault has selected Malaysia's Fairuz Fauzy as a reserve driver for the 2011 Formula One

season.

The 28-year-old Fauzy has a wide-ranging experience in motor sport, including F1 mileage gained during

practice sessions last year.

Fauzy said Tuesday "it's a real honor to be part of a top team that has achieved so much in the sport and it's

something any driver dreams about."

He sees it as "a great opportunity for me to improve as a driver" and hopes that "one day I can be on the grid

myself."

Fauzy has also raced in the GP2 Series, A1GP, and the World Series by Renault, where he was runner-up in

2009.

Along with his F1 duties this year, Fairuz will return to GP2 racing with Super Nova Racing.

Paris Hilton has reportedly started her own racing team for MotoGP. The team will be named Supermartxe VIP by Paris Hitlon. They will compete in the 125cc MotoGP category. 125cc is the beginning level before the MotoGP and MotoGP 2 classes. It will be interesting how the team will perform and if they will be able to level up on to the big stage, in MotoGP.

Which Driving Game left with the honor of Spike's Best Driving Game Award?

Spike's Video Game awards of 2010 ended with NFS: Hot Pursuit winning the title of best driving Game. This game won because EA, the developer behind the NFS: Hot Pursuit game, was able to go to the roots of its series where the fundamental aspect of the game is cops vs races. Hot Pursuit brings new modern supercars such as Lamborghini and Ferraris to race for freedom. It's an adrenaline pumping game that keeps gamers on the edge.

There is speculation that NFS: Hot Pursuit wouldn't have won unless Gran Turismo 5 wasn't nominated for best driving game. Gran Turismo probably came out too late for Spike to recognize it a contender under Best Driving Game. Would have voters decision changed the result in favor of GT5, if it was nominated?

The other nominees included BLUR, Modnation Racers, and Split Second. NFS: Hot Pursuit clearly is the better game from this list generally speaking.

Forza Motorsport 4 Release Date

Turn 10 unveiled a trailer for the 2010 Spike's Video Game Awards (as shown below.) The date as of now is set to Fall of 2011. Forza is putting pressure to their main competitor in the market, Gran Turismo 5. The video game racing games are always getting better, but it will be interesting to watch these two parties innovate for more realism in simulator racing games.

At the 2010 E3 event, Turn 10 Studios the team behind Forza Motorsport, announced the support for Xbox Kinect exclusively for the XBOX 360. This feature was showcased as a feature that enables a person to virtually walk around a car and explore the vehicle. There is a very good chance that Xbox Kinect will be supported in the upcoming Forza 4 game.

World Rally Championship

Organized by the FIA, the World Rally Championship is a motorsport where special modified off-road cars compete in timed rally stages to compete for the drivers title and manufactures championship. It is a motorsport which usually takes place in point-to-point distances in rural environments that include woods, forest, and through plains. The competitors that are are to complete the rallies the fastest are deemed the winner. WRC is primarily centered around Europe; where most of the races take place. There are a few races in the western hemisphere like Argentina, Mexico and there is competition in the Middle-East.

Like wise, the drivers are mostly European. Sebastian Loeb, a frenchman has dominated the sport in championship count in the 21st century. Ken Block, an american, also competes in WRC. Block is known for his gymkhana videos, showing off drifting and stunts on youtube which has gathered millions of views. Kimi Raikonen made a turn from Formula One racing onto off-road racing for the 2010 season.

What sets the Rallying apart from other motorsports is the driving styles and methods, which is truly unlike any other type or racing. In order to drive these machines through woods, forest, snow, rain, high rising cliffs really takes practice and mastery of the road. Colin McRae was one of the greatest drivers ever to do rallying, if not the greatest. He once rolled his car at the X Games and was still able to finish 2nd, only about a second away drom the first position. It's that fight that we want to see in motorsport. Rallying is the stage where we can really see who's pushing the car to its absolute limit through crashes, machine failure, and through frustration. It takes a great amount of work to win the WRC Championship!

FIA drops the ban on Team Orders for the upcoming Formula One season.

Reflecting back to the controversial German Grand Prix; Ferrari was accused and trailed for illegal team orders. They were fined 65,000 euros for the illegal exercise. Now, the FIA has announced that they will scrap the rule. This is better for Formula One racing because it will allow a team to strategize their drivers to aim for either a drivers title or for the constructers championship. This will also probably prevent incidents like at the 2010 Turkey GP where Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel both collided while being in the first and second positions which affected their championship standings. This lift on the rule will allow the Team to make crucial decisions for the drivers, so that they may perform as a team and shoot for a specific objective without risking stupid and unnecessary mistakes like at the Turkey GP.

A Spec and B Spec Modes

A Spec mode in "GT Life" (career mode) is the core racing aspect of Gran Turismo. Theis career mode is the heart of all Gran Turismo games. It gives you a vast range of events in which you must complete with the cars restrictions on many of the events. There are some events where for example you can only use supercars or just NASCARs. This aspect sets GT5 apart from other racing games, since it was an incredible lineup cars stretching the range out from concept cars to formula one to classic muscle cars.

B Spec mode is the 2nd major part of "GT Life" which you may never even touch. Why? Well, you are no longer the driver. Here you create a new driver and choose a pre-selected driver name and suit. You select events in which you want him to compete in. One on the track he has complete control of the car, but you just simply tell him to overtake, pace down, maintain pace, or to speed up on a sub menu screen. The benefits of this is being able to track the timed laps, but many might just finding this feature boring. Maybe with more advancements to B-Spec it can become worth while in the future games.

Special Events and License

The variety of racing disciplines can be found under Gran Turismo's Special Events. Here you can find the Top Gear Test track, NASCAR racing, rally racing, AMG Nordschleife time trials, Go-Kart Racing, and the Italian tour. These are categorized so that you may taste out how the variety of motorsport racing vastly contrasts. In each discipline, you find out how different types of racing and the different driving methods they require.

Licensing no longer is required to race into events as for past games in the series. Licensing has lost its importance in Gran Turismo 5 since you can jump into any race without a license, but you must have acquired the car restriction for any given event (accept in Special Events, where for most you are given the car.) Licensing is just there for you to better your driving and to gain trophies which then you may compare with friends.

Cars and Handling

With over 1000 cars, Gran Turismo has the usual unbelievable car list. There are cars ranging from all over the automobile world. There are Go-Karts, NASCARs, Le Mans cars, F1, and much more. It's great to have all these cars, but there not all the same. Graphically there are premium models and standrad models. Premium models are graphically much more better looking than standard models. You are allowed to go cockpit view and take your car into the photo mode GT offers with premium models. Standard models don't have the detail and extra computer polygons. It's not really a let down, because they are all playable and besides there is no point if you are using the front view cam, the only thing on screen is the road and other cars, not your car. On the other hand, car damage is a let down because there are little bang and hits that are shown. You can completely run your car into a wall at 200 m.p.h. and end up with a few scratches and superficial dents. An update, is on its way, but there really isn't much to expect.

The true variety GT5 delivers is complemented with the game's unique handling for every car. I played this game with the Logitech Driving Force GT. The amount of input and feedback of the steering is truly unlike any other racing sim. I could change the traction control or ABS setting to suit my driving style. When drifting, I could feel the tires just off balance and then I would have a split second to correct it or completely loose control. The physics in this game are really realistic and probably the best for anyone looking for a superior racing simulator.

Weather

In GT5 there are stunning rain and snow features. There are pre-selected tracks with weather effects already enhanced into them. You can't custom choose a track and choose the weather you want. For example you can't just jump into the Monza and ask for snow, it doesn't work that way, unfortunately. Also for night-day cycles the tracks have been pre-selected, like Le Mans or the Toscana rally environment. Regardless, Gran Turismo 5 excels in weather effects. While driving in the cockpit the rain and snow hitting the windshield is a gorgeous scene. It looks very beautiful and realistic, which plenty of other games wouldn't even try!

Tracks

They say 71. 71 is the total number of tracks after they have reversed and taken some chicanes out for individual tracks, so the true number is about half. There are World Circuits, Original tracks, and "Dirt and Snow" tracks. World Circuits are definitely the funnest ones to race in because of the attention of detail. Some of the city courses are near replicas of real life. The list includes cities such as city courses in Milan, Rome, and Tokyo. Original Gran Turismo tracks that were introduced from GT 1 are still in the game such as the High Speed Ring. The Dirt and Snow tracks are ones that are mostly used for rallying.

There are many gaps in the tracks list because it doesn't satisfy the racing in particular event s like NASCAR. There are only 2 original NASCAR circuits, Indianapolis and Daytona. In A-Spec there is a NASCAR event in which there are these 2 oval, original circuit, but in the same event you must take those NASCARs to GT original circuits where it doesn't make sense. Even though there are NASCAR's to compete in non-ovals, in this event the circuits outnumbered the ovals which isn't the reality of the real life series. This factor doesn't make it a true NASCAR experience.

Course Maker

It sounds great, Course Maker. There are some different environments to create a track in such as a snow or rural places. The way you "create" a track is through adjusting some sliders in order to change the width of length of a pre-selected track. Unfortunately, you aren't allowed to completely design the layout of the track which I would expect. It's not a course maker, just another unnecessary feature, kind of like B-Spec which isn't living up to its potential.

Lightweight is essential in making fast racing machines. BMW has kept this fundamental factor for their new BMW M3. This new BMW M3 GTS only weighs 3,285 and has 444 brake horse power. This special edition BMW was definitely made for tracks as it has a roll bar, a fire extinguisher and an engine kill switch. Even though it was designed for the track, BMW has made it street legal. It was definitely designed for the driver to take it to and from his house to the track. Clearly if you were to have this car, you would be winning all the races at intersections and freeway on ramps. Yet, the BMW is a high performance machine which laps around the Nordschleife at a respectable 7:48 which laps at nearly the same time as a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano or a Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06. BMW M3 GTS will be shipping out in Spring of 2011.

The car was made in honor of the founder of Ferrari, "Ferrari Enzo." This supercar has a top speed of 220 m.p.h. The Enzo can accelerate from 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. In Addition, this ferocious beast has a recorded lap time at the Nordschleife Circuit of 7:25.21. Impressive.

There have been many racing video games released this year, but which one is the best?

Need For Speed

There have been many great racing games released in 2010. One thing that is better years than before is that this year there was a lot of variety of racing games. There is Formula one which hadn't produced game since F1 Championship Edition. Also Need For Speed made it to gaming stores shelves this year and focused on the roots of cops and extreme chases. Finally, the wait for Gran Turismo ended right before Thanksgiving allowing us, the gamers to enjoy growing our garages to endless possibilites. There was something for every type racer this year, whether you like arcade or sims, this year for racing in gameing was awesome!

Gran Turismo has come a long way graphically.

The latest installment of the Gran Turismo Series was released last week and nothing has really changed since the first game. GT5 still has the essentials of what it is, in this case GT5 has the same tracks used in in Gran Turismo 1. Here we have the High Speed Ring at track originating from the first game. Nearly all the track features are the same wide turns, and plenty of speed.
