and planning on hackintoshing, because I am a mac
First of all I do love the n310 design and all but the price is about $50 higher.
And n210 apparently has a better keyboard and touch pad buttons,
and bigger hard drive and newer processor.

In the specs alone I prefer the n210 also because
it has hyperspace also which is kinda like the xcross bar
from the sony vaio p series which I really wanted.
Quick access to email and etc without the lag and such.

Also the n210 is available in my local bestbuy so I can pick it up
but on the other hand n310 is only available by shipping.

I've seen completely hackintoshed n310's on youtube,
and I've been told that most bugs have been worked out
for n310 hackintosh is a go.
However n210, being a newly released netbook I don't think no one
has tried to hackintosh it yet. Or maybe it's because
it's not able to be hackintoshed? I wan't sure, so I came to this forum!

So can someone tell me if n210 can be hackintoshed?
Also if it can be which would you prefer n210 or n310 and why?

Please help! i really would like to get one ASAP, and I need your help to choose one!

I use it on my motorcycle when I got on a trip ..

it is non branded off ebay of course so it might well explode before long.

it should be ok, its nothing complicated after all. just a straight up 45w converter. when you consider most laptop ones are 100w+ and waste like 80% of the battery as heat its al good.

the branded ones (that are really CE and Rohs and not just painted to be) are £18 or so.

Yes, you can wire directly from the pci-e connector to the sim carrier. Have a look at the links I posted in this thread.

By default the toolbars and tabs take up less space, and it also feels the fastest to me.

Do as SithTracy suggests but you may also need to select the correct HDMI input on the television if it does not auto sense the input.

I've not seen the switch first hand but is it a case of engaging the switch arm tongue with the switch on the motherboard. In other words it just may not be aligned correctly?

Got the wi-fi in no problem. Need to get new wires and connector for the speakers. However opening my sammy up i noticed that i don't have the space for the simcard on my mother board. Does anyone know if it's possible and in that case how i would solder wires from the mini pci-e connector straight to the sim-card holder?

Any info appreciated!

Before we begin I will give you a warning. It is very hard and maybe impossible to do this without a microscope. You are going to solder components that are only 1mm long.
With that said, lets start.

What you need is 2x 100nF capacitors with the size 0402 (that is really small!!). You need something to make 3 bridges too. I think it look best if you use 0 ohm resistors but you can cut a short piece of cable and try to solder it instead. (I did that. It looks ugly but it works.)

It is in Italian but you only need the photos. Otherwise you can always use google translation. You have to remove the whole motherboard as you need to solder on both sides.

You don’t need that SIM-card holder if you don’t want to install a 3G module.

This is the hard part. You have to solder those two missing capacitors on the backside of the motherboard. Those capacitors are really small and you may need a microscope to see what you are doing. Place them as marked on photo below.




These capacitors link PET+ and PET- to slot2.

Now you only need to make 3 bridges as showed on photo below on the topside of your motherboard.


Maybe there is need for an extra 10k ohm resistor to pullup that Wireless Disable. In that case you solder it like this I haven't done this so it isn't tested!


It wasn't needed in my case, but maybe there is a need to connect 3.3Vaux-pin to 3.3Vaux network if there is a need to have 3.3V on 3.3Vaux when the computer is turned off. I haven't done this so it isn't tested!


To easy mount the card with a screw like the wireless card i moved one of those screw nuts like below.


Insert your Broadcom HD decoder in slot2.


Assemble the computer and turn it on. Install Crystal HD Video Decoder Drivers from here: http://www.broadcom.com/support/crystal_hd
The installation tell you if it don’t find that Broadcom HD decoder.

Download Media Player Classic Home Cinema from here: http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net and installed it.
Start the program and press O to get the options dialog. Under External Filters you can add Broadcom as external filter. Checked that prefer radio-button when Broadcom filter is selected. I don’t know if it is needed, but why not.


To confirm the installation, downloaded some HD trailers from: http://www.h264info.com/?page_id=20 and opened them in MPC and play them flawless, even 1080p works great.

In the US, upgrading the RAM definitely does not invalidate the warranty.

And Samsung UK's response to a forum member's warranty query, also seems to indicate that the UK will not be invalidated by upgrading the RAM.
