Android Problem Adding Email Account: Server connection error

To solve this problem we need to Add new Google account first
then we can now add new Email account.

NOTE: This tutorial is specifically meant for adding Gmail account ONLY.

ex: myname@gmail.com

Other email provider like yahoo, Hotmail, etc., cannot solve the same problem with this kind of method that we are going to follow.

1st FIRST: Add Google Account

Go to Settings → Accounts & sync

Add account

Choose Google

Draw the unlock pattern

Type your Email or Phone
then tap NEXT

Input your Password
then tap NEXT

tap ACCEPT button below

wait...

Set up payment info
To make the setup faster,
just hit No thanks on the choices
then tap CONTINUE at the bottom.

Once done, you will be directed to Account & sync window

There are two ways to add email account.

1. By adding email at Account & sync
2. By adding email at Email app

I encountered error when adding email account using the first method (Account & sync) even after I already added the Google account.

So the best way to add the Email Account is option two (using Email App)

2nd SECOND: Adding Email Account

Find the Email icon on the list of your apps

Add account

Take note of the POP3

Once you type your google email address
You may notice that the POP3 will automatically change into
IMAP(DEFAULT)
Leave it as it is.

Type your password then tap Sign in

You can leave everything as it is

or you can change your Nickname and Inbox sync frequency
as you want.

You may also wanted to Automatically download attachments when connected to Wi-Fi

Then tap Done.

That's it!

Your inbox is now synchronizing.

Assuming that you can't find the SETTINGS, drag your finger from top to bottom of the screen.

OneNote Files Deleted After Logout

My Oppo F1s A1601 doesn't have the old NOTES feature of Oppo Joy R1001.

That's why I came to Google Play to find a replacement and I choose Microsoft Office OneNote because of the Developer's credibility.

Main feature of this app is COLLABORATE WITH ANYONE, that means you can share your note with anyone you want and you can access your note from any device.

But I felt betrayed when I logged out on my account.
The moment I login again, my note was empty.

I don't know if it's because I didn't sync my note.
But still, they must have a copy of it on the original device where I created the notes.

I'm still trying to find ways on how to recover them and will keep you posted.

How To Logout On Facebook Messenger

You can't log out of an account on Messenger, but there are other things you can do to reduce notifications or make yourself unavailable:

If you don't want to appear as active on chat, you can turn chat off directly from the Messenger app
You can adjust your message notifications for Messenger or mute individual conversations
If you need to change account the primary account you use with Messenger, deleting and reinstalling the Messenger app will let you log in with a different account.

If you think you've left yourself logged in on someone else’s phone, you can always end an active session from your Facebook app's Security Settings.

They were wrong when they've said that you can't logout to that app. The good thing is, there is a way to logout without deleting and reinstalling this app.

Problem in Detecting USB from Mobile to PC

As you plug the USB port from mobile-to-pc, the computer will automatically detect it.

To verify that your mobile is connected to the computer, you must see the USB icon at the top bar of your mobile.
Slide your finger from that top bar and you will see

computer and Android's USB storage'

Tapping the 'Connect USB storage' will now allow transfer files between your phone and computer.

But if you experience a problem in detecting the USB, the icon will not show up at the top bar.

Turn OFF your mobile
Trun it ON again

Google maps on your mobile phone remembers every search query or the text you input at the search box. For some reasons, you wanted to clear or delete your search history on google map app on your mobile phone. To clear/delete this data follow the instruction given below:

Go to your Settings
Choose Applications
Select Manage applications
Select the All tab
Scroll down until you've found the Maps
Then Clear data

The figures below are the screen shots for steps 5 and 6 consecutively.

If you tap the 'Clear cache', the search history wont be deleted instead the map figures previously been cached or saved will be removed.

Protecting your eyes while using your mobile phone

Most of us have sensitive eyes when they are hit by a strong source of lights.
You may feel a little ache and sometimes the head starts to ache too.
To prevent this instance happens while you are using your phone, you should adjust
its brightness level depending on the lightning you have on your surroundings.

In daylight, setting the brightness level of your phone screen to the lowest level will
give you a blind visions on your phone. At this time, the brightness level of the screen
must be 80-100%.

In mid-light surrounding like you are inside a house where there is a little light coming from the outside, you can set the brightness level to 30-50%.

At night or where the place where there is no source of light but your phone, make sure to set the brightness level at its minimum or 0%. For me, zero percent of brightness setting on my phone during this time still brights for me. If only I could adjust it to -10% I will do so but this feature is not available on my phone.

To easily adjust the brightness level of your phone screen, you can create a shortcut of it on your home screen. If you are using an android phone, from the start screen

Tap the menu key
Add
Shortcuts
Scroll down until you see the Settings
Then choose the Display settings

The shortcut will then goes to your home screen.
And there is no more reason not to adjust the brightness level from time to time as it needed.

Safe mode in Samsung Phones

I've noticed that the Safe mode mark on the bottom left part of my phone screen appears after my phone felt on the ground from the height of approximately one yard.

My phone always felt on the ground but this is the first time that I've encountered this case. The device may already reach the highest impact resistance that's why the Safe mode comes out.

Don't panic about this thing, all you have to do is to restart your phone by turning it off, wait some seconds then turn it on again. The Safe mode shall not display at this time.

When you login to facebook using their mobile application, you will see an option asking you to select among these choices.

Sync all (Sync data about all friends to Contacts)
- this would update and add contacts from your facebook friends contacts to your phone book contacts

Sync with existing contacts (Sync data only about friends already in Contacts)
- this would only update contacts from your facebook friends contacts to your phone book contacts

Don't Sync (Use information about friends only in Facebook)
- this won't do anything at all.

After you have chosen your choice, tap the Sync button at the upper right corner.
