You find these stands all around tourist areas of Seoul. It’s fun to watch their routine. It’s called Dragon’s Beard Candy. It’s a treat that originated in China and was loved by the Korean royal court.

Since it was associated with the Han artistocracy, the Communisty Chinese government originally worked to eliminate it from Chinese society. This is another example of Korea preserving lost Chinese traditions.

It’s usually made with some type of starch sugar, but these are made with honey. Since it’s similar to cotton candy, it has a very short shelf life. In fact, you should eat it within ten minutes of its preparation for the best effect.

Yet really, the fun is the entertaining routine these kids do. I’ve seen it many times, but I’m still fascinated how they turn a hockey puck into over 16,000 fine strands.

Feel the best perfect portraits created at your fingertip with the 85mm lens! Once you use the 85mm lens, you will be surprised at how suitable it is for portraits and how compact it is among the same level lenses.

What do you think about making your own music video?

With the 85mm lens, you can shoot your own music video for fun like above, even on a professional level!

It has the full-time manual focus function supporting the automatic and manual focus so that you can capture details of objects more sharply, and use both alternately if necessary.

The longer focal distance a camera has, the bigger compression effect on the picture appears reducing the distance between a background and a person. The compression effect makes the background kind of monotonous and a person outstanding relatively. It’s strongly recommended for those who like to take portraits.

I hope our kids have a healthy habit for brushing their teeth. The key to getting your child to brush is to make it fun. Make it seems as brushing is a fun thing to do, not a tiresome duty. Make it seem as if brushing is a fun thing to do, not a tiresome duty. Show this fun clay work video to your child and teach them how to brush their teeth.

Hello, here is the delicious video!

As you may have known, Samsung launched the 60mm Macro lens in the second half of last year. This lens features a Super Sonic Actuator (SSA) to deliver a fast and quiet Auto-Focus. It also has an Optical Image Stabilization so users can take perfect close-up shots. With this camera lens specialized for close-up, Samsung created two of delicious video clips, showing off its outstanding sophisticated technology. Aren’t you curious about the menu? Here is a cold spaghetti and drip coffee. Oh! Did you already eat? If not, it could be a real drag to watch these videos and look at these photos since you will probably become hungry.

Would you like some coffee?

A barista pro came and demonstrated the process from grinding coffee beans to putting them in a clean filter on a dripper to pouring hot water in person.

In this video, you can figure out that the 60mm lens is capturing coffee drops, hot steam, and fine particles of coffee beans very delicately and clearly. Isn’t it great? It’s as if it even captures the coffee aroma and bitter taste we can’t see. Likewise, the video recorded by the 60mm macro lens satisfy our five senses together with the internal stereo microphone built in the NX200.

How about cold spaghetti today?

It’s time for cold spaghetti! Are you seeing the colorful Fusilli, vegetables, and seafoods in this video? The 60mm macro lens not only delivers a visual impression, but a zesty wallop of flavor and texture!

Also, it is possible to adjust the accurate focus and to capture objects more quickly with its full-time manual focus function. This video was recorded with this function and we can recognize that the 60mm macro lens with it.

Have you ever seen such a lovely and sweet bokeh video? This video has been buzzed with fun!

What a surprise! For Valentine’s Day, Samsung even held a small event to insert people’s love messages into the video on Samsung Digital Imaging’s YouTube and Facebook page. Fourteen messages were finally introduced. If you want to check out the video, please take a look at this video below.

1) Planning

First of all, planners needed to come up with an inventive idea for a film concept, so they Googled something creative and had a number of idea meetings. As a result, they determined a bokeh video shooting and camera crews started to study how to make proper shapes for it having done research.

2) Test

To actualize their concept, they bought materials such as lighting units, beads, and a reflector, and shot some test videos in a studio. Through these tests they had learned about how they can take the well-made bokeh film and about which shapes people like.

3) Drawing storyboards

Look at these interesting pictures done by hand! Aren’t they cool? In this step, they decided the detailed story and selected background music to be inserted. They also had to determine how the story would develop with the music. Along with the lyrics and timeline, they drew the storyboards as shown above and chose the bokeh shapes.

4) Creating props

They prepared lighting units, firecrackers, candles, beads, bubbles, and stick-on papers, and settled down to creating props. For the circle-shaped papers to be placed in front of each lens, they drew and printed them out with Photoshop and also cut it out elaborately in person.

5) Shooting

Models were listening to their guideline. Shooting for the bokeh video went on in the studio and outside. When it came to outdoor photographing, they would sometimes ride a car and subway. Which scene was shot helped from these transportations? Watch the video again to find the scene!

You can see pinwheel shapes on the NX200’s LCD. Excluding the colorful lights, in order to highlight these shapes more conspicuously, the background needed to darken.

6) Video edit

This is the last step. This project video was finally wrapped up by this video edit.

Even though the bokeh means some sort of blur effect, workers had to struggle to make the images clearer in order to show you the better images. Before we got the lovely video, they had to go through not that lovely way. Thanks to people’s positive responses, their efforts were rewarded, and we could make a sweeter Valentine’s Day by sharing this!

Thanks for your support and love of this video. Keep watching and expecting our other videos with the NX lenses in the future!

The great news is that Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd won a total of 44 prizes, including two gold medals at the iF Design Awards 2012. The gold medals, which are the best of the best, is also known as the “Design Oscar. Samsung won these medals, one for its Smart TV D 8000, a premium design with a slim 5mm metal bezel and the XGEO GC80, a simple digital X-ray device of sophisticated design. For the cameras, the Samsungimaging division won the iF product and UI awards for the NX200 & the MV800 this year. Let’s take a closer look. It is a significant achievement in 2012 by winning the largest number of awards among all the participating companies.

1. Samsung NX200

* Samsung NX200 won iF Product Award 2012

“The NX200 is a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera that emphasizes its professional characteristics as a precision instrument by applying metal to a strong form. The adoption of metal for the product’s body has enhanced the sense of sophistication. A detailed forging process has resulted in a sharp top edge. Attention was paid to every detail, including the grip area and the side of the mode dial on the rear, thereby strengthening the product’s image as a professional instrument. Focus was placed on strengthening this image.” (Ref. iF)
The camera is designed to deliver a premium photography experience by placing a range of professional standard features, such as a 20.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor at the fingertips of a growing group of style-led photographers.

*Samsung NX200 won iF UI Award 2012

The user interface of the NX200 is easy to set up and use in order to gives the users a variety of modes to choose from and allowing them to control all the functions with ease. The Smart Panel UI enables the users to handle the perfect setting for their perfect shots. The Magic Mode also offers some frames and filters that the users can use to enhance their photos.

For further information on the NX200, please refer to the links below:

2. Samsung MV800

*Samsung MV800 won iF Product Award 2012

“The MV800 is a next-generation dual-view camera featuring a 180° rotatable LCD, thus offering a new area of application and value. This camera is in an entirely new class in that it has overcome limitations and gone beyond the traditional dual-view concept, such as the self-shot and high / low angle shooting. The division of the main unit and display makes the product look thin and compact. It ensures a high level of portability and suggests a new area of application. The body features an aluminum and magnesium die cast-based cover and aluminum was used for every detail of the buttons to further increase the sense of sophistication.” (Ref. iF)
The MV stands for “Multi View”, which means a single screen that’s now mounted on a flip bracket for forward-facing self-portrait framing. You can frame shots at any angle without having to twist your body or bend your back.

*Samsung MV800 won iF UI Award 2012

The MV800 also won the iF User Interface award this year. If you already have a smartphone with a touchscreen, then you’ll feel right at home with the User Interface of the MV800. Smart Touch 3.0 lets you drag and scroll through menu options intuitively and effortlessly to launch the feature you want.

The MV800 comes with great backgrounds to choose from or, for even more fun, personalize the wallpaper with your current favorite image. Show it off to anyone, anytime!

Hello, Samsungimaging fans!

I’m back again with stylish street fashion photos from our stylish MV800 campaign, ‘Street Style Looks, Caught on Samsung’ once again. As I was looking through Caught on Samsung’s Tumblr and selecting stylish pictures to share it with you, I’ve noticed that all the pictures that I’ve chosen this time have styled their looks with an oh-so-fashionable, totally in-the-moment-style hat. So I’ve decided to give this post a little theme- “All that hat”!

Photographer : Jamie Baker. City : London

I personally find the way she styled this look very smart. Fur on fur items can look overwhelmingly too much or overly dramatic, but she somehow managed to avoid all that heaviness and managed to keep it in style. Keeping it simple and basic might probably be the secret to her look. Also, wearing a different color fur hat but in a similar tone from her fur coat is another smart way to style things up with fur items.

Photographer : Jamie Baker. City : London

She looks sweet. There is no typical girlish element in this look, but she looks lovely and sweet. So what might be her secret? I’m guessing keeping the style simple and casual yet not forgetting to add a touch of femininity might be the secret. Roll up the sleeves on a slightly over-sized denim jacket, make sure to balance the silhouette by flaunting your legs, and add a cozy-looking knit hat and scarf. If you have plans for Valentine’s Day but do not want to dress up in obvious dresses and skirts, I’d recommend you style things up like this lovely lady!

Photographer : Jamie Baker. City : London

Military and Air Force inspired hats started gaining popularity in the last couple of seasons and it’s still going. You don’t have to wear a military inspired look to match it with this practical hat. In fact, if you do, you’ll totally look like you’re actually working for a military service! :D Style it up with your everyday outerwear and it will add a fashionable twist to your everyday look.

Photographer : Red Eye Productions. City : New York

Accessories are not just for the ladies anymore. There are great accessories options for gentlemen out these days and hats are no exceptions. I particularly think beanies are the item for guys, giving them a stylish yet relaxed edge to the look. If you think you look too plain or simple and want to add a little somethin’ somethin’ but don’t know what to do? Try on a beanie and I’m sure you’ll be satisfied with yourself reflected in the mirror!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

What is ‘Street Style Looks, Caught on Samsung’?

Samsung has teamed up with global publisher Condé Nast for ‘Street Style Looks, Caught on Samsung’ to put the Samsung MV800 camera at the forefront of fashion trend settings. Samsung and Condé Nast, the elite publishing behind the world’s most renowned magazines such as Vogue, W, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Allure, and GQ, have recruited four premier fashion photographers to encapsulate emerging trends in contemporary street style in four fashion capitals across the world.

Virtual Combination is my favorite part of the application. This feature lets you virtually play around and combine different NX cameras and lenses. Also, if the NX camera comes in various colors, you can experience different colors as well. When you’ve combined the body and the lens that you like, you’ll not only get to see the info of the product but you can also see the photos taken with your choice of camera and lens through the gallery.

6. NX Videos (How-to, Review, Promo, Sample)

Useful videos and videos tips on NX cameras and lenses are all gathered here at NX Videos for you. Find out how to use different features of the camera from shooting preparation to i-Function, and see reviews, promotion videos, and sample videos as well. If you find a video you like, make sure you share it with your friends and family to spread the fun!

One of the other great things about the ‘NX System Learn & Explore’ application is that it has been designed to perfectly suit tablet users, allowing them to tab and swipe the features back and forth within the same page. You don’t have to go all the way back to the first page to reach the main menu. How smart is that!?

Download the application now and have full free access to the NX system! Enjoy!

* What is “BOKEH”?
Are you familiar with the word “Bokeh”? It means “blur” or “haze”, which comes from the Japanese world “ボケ or boke” (Wikipedia: Bokeh). When we use the term in photography, it is referring to the aesthetic quality of the blur produced from a shot with shallow depth of field. Determining factors of bokeh are things like lens aberrations and shape of lens aperture. It’s very attractive and pleasing to blur the background and the focused subject even more.

You are able to direct the lights with any shape that you want by using a bokeh lens and bokeh effects as you watch the video at the beginning of this post titled “Bokeh & Art.” The video and all the images in this post are recorded and captured by the Samsung NX system.

* Tips for bokeh photography
1. Use of larger aperture works best
- You will get the best result with a lens, which can use large aperture.

2. Creating bokeh in different shapes
- Place in front of your lens a piece of black paper with the shape you want carved out of it.

3. Set your camera to aperture priority

4. Better to get closer to the subject or further away the background

* Beautiful examples of bokeh photography
1. Heart

the blur of lights creates pretty hearts for you

Indoors or outside, up close or far away — with the Samsung WB150F/WB150, you’re always ready to capture life’s special moments as they happen, so you can treasure them forever. The 24mm ultra-wide lens and 18x optical zoom ensure you capture exactly what you want in the frame. Samsung’s 14.2 megapixels means that even the smallest details will be reproduced with professional quality. Whether you’re shooting stills or recording 720p HD video — the WB150F/WB150 lets you relive memories perfectly.

Take your vision much further and clearer 18x Optical Zoom, OIS

The serrated, snow-capped peaks of a mountain range — your eyes take it all in, and so does your new Samsung WB150F/WB150. With its 18x Optical Zoom, it brings the intimate details closer, so you can capture a Golden Eagle launching into flight. Whether wide-open vistas or detailed close-ups, the WB150F/WB150 lets you get the shot you want. But it has to be steady too. That’s where the WB150F/WB150‘s OIS(Optical Image Stabilization) comes in handy. The very second you shoot, the image is stabilized. So no matter how shaky your hands are, your photos won’t be.

Get a whole new view 24mm Wide angle lens

Get more from your lens, no matter what the scene, whether shooting a memorable landscape or the gang’s reunion around a restaurant table. By using the precision-cut WB150F/WB150’s 24mm wide-angle lens, you will instantly cover a whole-horizon field of view. Now, you can capture memories of landmarks and landscapes, entire wedding parties and the tallest skyscrapers in full scale. No need to back up to frame the shot.

Instant Sharing & Saving, simply Wi-Fi Connectivity
