In addition, the hairstyle, the classic Spring/Summer 2013 men’s popular hairstyle, we have noticed there are so many stylish men regardless age, they tend to cut the hair follows this very style, slightly short or even shaved side-burn, a long fringe, slightly curled hair quality make the look so refined and shaped. Thanks to The Great Gatsby later on this month, there would be very strong combed hair style back with heritage proud, just like the song ‘Suit and Tie’ by Mr. Justin Timberlake.

Enjoy the summer.

There would not be any excuse of not going out to attend those events, or hanging out with friends for social reasons. One thing I am very looking forward to this season is the upcoming The Great Gatsby film. In sprite of the strong casts including Leonardo and the re-production of one of the great novels throughout the history, the style of Mr. Gatsby and the style of upper class 1920s is coming back to fashion houses all these years. Perfect fitting into many high-end fashion brands’ heritage and the classic gentlemen lifestyle pursuit, The Great Gatsby style will be a top hit for West End in London, and long living within many modern gentlemen who are looking for meaningful heritage inspired menswear.

Speaking of menswear high-end tailoring, here there is one brand I am mentioning to fit in the storyline, Purple Label from Ralph Lauren, a specialised line catering Ralph clients’ high-end made-to-measure tailoring needs. When we think about Ralph Lauren, there are a lot of commercial polo shirt going on; however, we have to admit that there are also under the skin modern American Ivy University League graduated gentlemen styles. Simply put: tall, well-build, combed light-brown hair, blue eyes, these are characteristics of what we know about the Ralph Lauren’s men.

Purple Label is a smart move in Ralph Lauren’s production and collection innovation I have to say. Comparing with other high-end fashion brands in the market, not many brands offering related bespoke tailoring service to fit their clients in a perfect method. Taking Dolce & Gabbana into consideration, Mr. Dolce is always on the clock in offering the best italian fit for their clients, but still in a ready-to-wear way. There are a lot of chaos and dedications in offering bespoke services to mass public, it’s not because Dolce & Gabbana cannot do, it really just depends how special you are as a client, maybe your body proportion, maybe your social status.

In addition, it’s worthwhile mentioning that the new gentlemen conceptual store will be opened in June at New Bond Street London. The store is also offering purely high-end tailoring products, with a twist of Dolce & Gabbana’s barbering services. So again, it proves that refined combed gentlemen style is back to fashion designers’ attention, and this style will be getting much more fashionable with more trendy elements added in return.

Therefore, Ralph Lauren is more likely offering a high-end tailoring experience to mass luxury products buyers. Due to their American root, Ralph has much in-depth understanding on modern experience-oriented marketing theory, and would like to put customer experience as a priority and solve their problems. It’s also a great method to attract future new clients and stimulate the existing clients, for the purpose of maintaining long-term relationship with clients and building them into Ralph’s brand community.

To refine Ralph’s understanding of tailoring elegance and masculinity, the Purple Label is offering bespoke tailoring service in terms of traditional peak, notch, and shawl lapel with a choice of grosgrain or satin finish, applying with hand-selected luxury wool fabric. Here is Mr. Chris Pine’s Purple Label Made-to-Measure Ralph Lauren’s three piece suit, showcased at Star Trek: Into Darkness’s premiere on 3rd May.

In addition, carrying from previous seasons, the short-length short with a tapered end is highly in trend to help modern men a much refined style. If the consumers could not get those very fitted tailored shorts into their wardrobe, a lighter cotton based chinos short also does the trick. In terms of the styles, a roll-up short end is the key to the notion to give more relaxing, sporty movement and up-beating feeling when other people look at you.

Today’s Dolce & Gabbana is pushing very hard on their dedication of the root of Sicilian culture and history, and the appreciation of the lifestyle legacy passed down from their forefathers. A much more collectable and luxurious Dolce & Gabbana is under the transitional period to push the art and design as their priority in order to compete the major A-list luxury brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton.

Taking any piece of Sicilian heritage could contribute a whole season’s design mood-board for Dolce & Gabbana. With the strong and fascinating backbone of rich history of Sicily, Dolce & Gabbana will never be lack of imagination in coming up wonderful artistic menswear designs for seasons. Taking one example of this outfit the author took from the Spring/Summer 2013 lookbook, a very silky material pants with a deconstructed tailoring structure, sporting those colourful Sicilian lifestyle prints, styling together with the short sleeve beige coloured strip knitwear top, and that special designed leather sandals/shoes.

Here comes a very controversial question: Will Dolce & Gabbana’s clients actually accept these? As what we usually know the seductive half-naked muscular well-fit male is their classic image, with their strong existing metal plates chasing highly commercial clients base, how Dolce & Gabbana could be successfully promote those loud and feminine to those sweaty gym-goer?! Maybe the design team will never really target those fashion elements to them in the first place. Maybe they gradually start to do it.

The reason you can find from the store visual merchandising of Dolce & Gabbana, they play safe and secure with separated zones: casual-wear, gym collection, tailoring collection, and fashion collection. Among those zones, they barely talk to each other; therefore, each zone has a specific customer base that aims at specific collection. It’s quite difficult to mix and mature those collections and convince them the benefits of it, such as the style of spezzato, styling tailoring blazer with denim jeans, chinos, sneakers and so on.

Even though the menswear fashion collection is getting better and better in terms of the consistency Dolce & Gabbana has showed from their womenswear. Consumers could find the similarity of collection for men and women but in different cut and fabric. We just hope the transitional period of Dolce & Gabbana could pass quickly, and teach clients what’s really fashion styles through their more engaged and interacted sub-collection. Here, there might involve loads of movements on menswear PR and advertising in a very generous but exclusive method to alter the brand image in client’s mindset.

However, the cold weather outside in London would definitely deter the willingness of getting something really brighter colours. To defeat the coldest March in about 50 years for London in a stylish way, shall we adopt some transitional items that could connect winter season but get ready for the warm spring?

Here is where Dolce & Gabbana lands, this brand has been altering their fashion targeting for a few seasons since they decided to cut the young D&G line. Without promoting too much commercial products, Dolce & Gabbana takes their sicilian lifestyle into more luxurious action, and build a very specific Dolce & Gabbana look that relates to modern men’s aesthetic point of view. Taking Mr. Dominic Dolce speciality in crafting formal tailoring, this high-end brand is paying much more attention on suits, tux and blazers, which are the key primary items for current Dolce & Gabbana designers who build and design the whole fashionable looks.

Speaking of transitional look for current season, the dark colour is the first choice for the conventional sense in relating cold weather. However, adding spring details is the most difficult to do in constructing this very look. You have to have some degrees of colours, like the dark mixed bergendy and purple to improve the sophistication, like the slightly see-through silky fabric to give a fluent and spring feeling.

Next step is about the right length blazer, consumers would love the longer blazer to cover the bottom, this is a very good point if you are a tall person. However, if you are slightly shorter, why don’t we try a modern skinny short length blazer to give a better proportion, to make you look taller.

The upside-down triangle shaped cropped trousers is the key style for this Spring/Summer 2013. Not only consumers could benefit the classic Dolce & Gabbana’s favourite trousers shape, but also enjoy the stylish modern twist in narrowed trousers end. Styling with a pair of low base woven detailed leather shoes is how this Spring/Summer 2013 going to be like: bold and up-beaeting, simple but sophisticated.

Avaliable @ Dolce & Gabbana

From really plain subtle colours regardless dark or bright, to the patterned details, Raf Simons in this Spring/Summer 2013 is pushing his signature minimum and artistic elegant styles into depth with a simple entry taste of luxurious Raf’s design.

High-end fashion sense twisted with comfortable sportswear materials, this collaboration has successfully represented both brands’ strengths. But more importantly, after enjoyed this collaborated collection, Fred Perry’s clients would pay more attention to Raf Simons’s menswear label, and start to purchase Raf’s design in a big time.
