His family has no interest in spending time with him. He lives too far away from the city to hang out with his friends and thus, he is bored.
In this film we play with the idea that, because of the up-bringing of a child, his mentality and imagination can be warped beyond what one normally assumes a kid might conceive. Of course, because we’re us, we try to guarantee the viewer doesn’t get depressed.

The concept for the film was originally bred from a film contest on Revver.com, of which the criteria were to create a film that was “Childhood Themed,”… and nothing else. I’m not 100% sure they’ll like our twist on it–but what the hell? Enjoy!

Rise of Legends

Alright so I finally got my Fat Ass (TM) into gear and edited our latest review. I'm sorry it took me so long, but I've also been working on other things. This week we reviewed Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends (full title). Maki and Player1 both have mixed feelings about the game, watch to find out what they think. This episode I spent, at last, a great deal of time on the new intro. I hope you guys like it. Hint: watch the whole thing. ;)

Call of Cthulhu

We were looking for games to review when we came across a game that we didn't know about. It had little to no advertising and probably due to its content, isn't very TV-friendly therefore had very few reviews. This week we look at a little-publicised title from Bethesda Softworks, Call of Cthulhu. We have a lot of game footage in this one, and because we can, we themed this episode after the game. Let us know what you thought of it and if you think we should try to theme more shows after the game we're reviewing by shooting us an email at nobullshit@samuraifilms.org.

Emo Jack

Emo Jack has a hard life. His parents don’t even understand him and he has to go to a funeral in his shit car. If only his parents got him a Prius things would be so much better! Luckily he has his iPod and Razr Mobile to drown his sorrows in.

In this dry, sarcastic, short film we chastise the “Emo” sub-culture, if you couldn’t tell already. Eric plays Emo Jack because, for some reason, he just does it really well. Expect to see some more short films in this format. Enjoy.

The Godfather

This episode we cover a somewhat new game from EA - The Godfather. We felt that this game had a great advertising campaign but no real, solid reviews, so here we are. In this episode there is nothing too new. The sound is 100% fixed now and you can hear Maki and Player1 equally. Everything should be equalized and easy to listen too, also. Again, if you want to shoot us an email, let us know we missed something, hate mail us or otherwise, as always the address is nobullshit@samuraifilms.org. Expect something cool for our next episode... This week we bring you a not-so-new game (again), Battle For Middle Earth 2. In this episode we have incorporated a new introduction sequence to get the energy going and, by request, more game footage during the review. There are also some cool lower-thirds I made in Motion. Whether they stay or not, we'll see. There is still a little bit of audio issues (better than last time, though), but I will get those fixed in the next episode. Otherwise this is the format we think we will stick with for this series. If you have any suggestions, please let us know by emailing us at bullshit@samuraifilms.org, or by responding to this post [registration required].

Next week we plan to review another somewhat out-dated game, then jump into a few brand-new games, so our show isn't just Bullshit old games. Stay tuned!

Oblivion

Welcome to the first episode of the No Bullshit Game Review. This is a new series we will use to cut through the crap of the gaming industry and offer our straight-up reviews of new games. And because this is the No Buillshit Game Review, you’ll get the reviews when you can get the games, no hype, no marketing.

For our introductory episode we chose a game that you might have heard of before, Elderscrolls IV, Oblivion. We experiment with introducing game footage and some minor animation. The next episode will be better, a little bit flashier, but to remain true to our “No Bullshit” title, don’t expect anything too expensive, we’re not G4TV here–in fact, they’re the reason we have to make this show. So enjoy our first stab at this genre and we hope to see you soon!

Chicken Carbonara

Welcome to another episode of the 5-10 Minute Cooking Show. I hope you have enjoyed the previous episodes as much as I did! This week we come back to you with a few new tricks including a new intro and a better lit kitchen. We hope to improve upon previous episodes with these few additions.

This week we prepared for your entertainment and education a Spanish entrée. Watch along as we make Pollo en Pipain, Harlem Rice and Mexican-style Guacamole.

One

This is a Quickfilm featuring Justin Marcus waking up in the morning and preparing for a hit. The original commentary (which was cut from the version you see) was along the lines of, "I get in the morning, like you. I go to work, every day, like you. My job is just cooler." This film is unique, to us, in that it is probably the most cut-down story we've done. There is no dialog or commentary at all, actually. It is also the first thing we did after the first 5-10 Minute Cooking Show and after I bought the XL2, so there are a lot of experimental camera techniques and I like the way it came out.

Enjoy!

Bourbon Pork

Welcome to the second episode of our now-expanding-length-wise 5-10 Minute Cooking Show! This week we made Bourbon Pork and a special rice. In this episode we come to you with a new intro in addition to the always-extremely-tasty food. Our last episode’s meal was cool but this one will really impress your friends because it goes up and over what your normal couch potatoe would do to prepare pork.

I don’t have a recipe for this episode because, well, it was pretty much made up on the fly. Don’t worry, we’ll include one for the next episode.

This (as I think I've already pointed out) is our first episode. We made this one back when it was called the 5 Minute Cooking Show and it ended up being exactly 5 minutes long. It's a little rougher than our latest episode but thus far has been our best reviewed. We also did not know if we were going to make any other episodes when we made this and had not yet developed a style. We decided to add a little of our own attitude to this series and I think that is what will keep people interested because, albiet, this is still a cooking show.
