Penang Floral Fest 2009 - Flowers pictures

End of last month, I was at the Penang Floral Fest 2009 in Botanical Garden. I was not there to check out the flowers but to brush up my photography skills. Armed with my new babe - the Tamron lens 17mm- 55mm F2.8, I went around the place to take some nice flowers pictures.

Before I show you the flowers pictures, let me introduce you guys our Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s youngest son….Spotted him during the opening ceremony of the Penang Floral Fest 2009.

Is he cute?

I like the colour of this flower a lot.

The upper part of this flower is too bright. Else, the picture will look nicer.

In my opinion, this picture is too blurry.. Please take a look at the rest of the pictures and comment further.. thanks.

Road Tax for 5 years

Recently I found out that road tax can be renewed up to 5 years. Don’t believe me?

I am wondering whether I can do that as well or only applicable for VVIP ( I guess you know who is the car owner)?

USM 2009 intake screwed up!

On 29th May, my sis informed me that she was accepted by USM to pursue her further studies. I was happy as she will be staying in Penang with us instead of living far apart from the family. But somehow her excitement was cut short when she found out her name was not in the USM accepted list anymore. That happened on yesterday.

This morning, she went to USM to get clarification from the officer in charge. To her horror and many others, it was confirmed that she was not the chosen one. Apparently, the computer system screwed up. Only those who received sms from USM are considered successfully accepted into the university.

I was there right after lunch hours. At that time, Ng Wei Aik the political secretary of Lim Guan Eng was having press conference. Many other parents and students were waiting anxiously, hoping for the best.

After an hour of waiting, YB Lim Kit Siang appeared and was directed into the “Bilik Taklimat” for another round of discussion and press conference with the vice chancellor.

The meeting went thru very fast and soon many of us found out that the latest list is the correct one.

Those who didn’t receive the sms will not be accepted into USM. They will be in the big pool of students to be picked by UPU in coming weeks. It’s really very screw up!

For me, I just don’t understand why such an issue can happen at the first place. It had created a lot of emotional stress to my sis and the rest affected by this issue.

Malaysia APEX University is a laughing stock to the rest of the world!

Bachata Rueda Dance

Lately, my friends and I tried out bachata rueda dance. Bachata Rueda dance requires 3 or 4 couples to dance in a circle and it’s quite fun to dance with friends.

Learning Bachata Dance in Penang

Guys…as some of you may I know, I like dancing but it’s too bad that I don’t really dance well. If you have really follow my blog, you should know that I am learning bachata dance since late last year.

At that time, I used to dance 2 or 3 times per week. Then, I stopped for awhile after I took up a new job. 3 weeks ago I went back to the bachata dance class and holly shit… I’m still in love with it. In fact, I just finished a class 2 days ago.

So how many of you are actually taking up bachata dance? Mind to share?

Or maybe learn to dance other type of dances like salsa, belly dancing?
