Your idea of foraging is the produce box delivered to your door every week. At most, you’re willing to join others on pilgrimage to the Ferry Building’s Farmers Market. Hey, that counts, right? It’s all organic!

Um…

It sounds like you need to see what a true hunter gathering is like… or at least, hear where real foragers get their food. Bonus points if there’s an open bar.

Come taste the difference at An Evening with Food Heroes, sponsored by Eventbrite to celebrate local culinary artisans you already know and love. You’ll food taste your way from Pizza Politana, Charles Chocolates and more. The evening is inspired by Georgia Pelligrini’s new book (conveniently, Food Heroes), which chronicles her search around the world for people who have devoted their hearts and hands to food.

So mark your iCal for Wednesday, September 8 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. It all goes down at Terroir, so you know the vino will be wine-derful. Tickets are only $10, thanks to a 50% Social Diva discount, and all proceeds go to Edible Schoolyard. Located at 1116 Folsom St, 415/ 558-9946

When she’s signing your book, jus make sure you ask Georgia what it’s like to own (and use?) a rifle.

Spring forward, fall back… and by that, we mean you’ve fallen back into your daily bump and grind. Nothing says it better than your jam-packed iCal. Hello, September.

And hello, 3-day VIP trial membership!

It takes work to stay ahead… and some scheduled R&R. Admit it; you won’t take care of yourself unless it’s on your list, so go ahead. Make it a recurring to-do.

Equinox gets it, which is why it’s a gym that’s also a full-service spa. They’ll do your laundry, make you a smoothie at their juice bar, and even give you WiFi – though that might get in the way of your 60-minute media detox. Welcome home, darling. Here’s a chilled eucalyptus towel to help you relax.

Rumor has it, the Bootcamp class will make you hot as… well, purgatory, and their Whipped class works pretty much the same way. Get your glow on with a 3-day VIP trial membership to see for yourself. Located in Palo Alto, San Francisco and San Mateo.

They’ll Equinox your socks off.

If there has been one restaurant opening this summer, there’s been a thousand. We know how busy you are, so here are three of our faves:

Skool is officially in session, and we don’t mean the boring kind. You can sip on the off-street patio, or sup inside with other fish-focused foodies. Either way, you’ll love that the core team of this Portrero Hill hotspot consists of two husband and wife pairs. That, and there’s no corkage fee until the resto gets its liquor license! Make your res for the first weekend brunch on September 11. Located at 1725 Alamenda Street, 415/255-8800.

Speaking of fish… there’s nothing fishy about Rocketfish’s international tapas and sushi nor all the sake choices. They’ll help you get your groove at happy hour with the DJ from 5:00-7:00pm Monday-Friday. Located at 1469 18th Street, 415/282-9666.

Bummed you never made it back to France after studying abroad? Bistro Central Parc will send you there and back, and stop in heaven on the way. Come between 5:00-6:30pm on Wednesdays-Sundays, and your three-course prix fixe is only $17.50. Located in the Western Addition @ 560 Central Avenue, 415/931-7272.

No one dines like a Diva.

It’s a Friday, and you happen to be lunching with your power posse at Aqua. (Hey, it’s not your fault cocktails make the day go faster.) You know the chef – so you expect a comp’d dessert. But when the bill comes, it says your entire lunch is 50% off!

Before anyone can say TGIF, you pay and are out the door. What a steal. But wait… now your receipt says you were discounted 70%! Huh?

No, Diva, you’re not dreaming. This scenario is entirely possible – just meet Tippr.

Tippr is the newest member of the collective-buying community. Translation: they do everything better. Sure, they scout your city for the best eats and treats. And yea, they get you 50 to 90% off. But the clincher? The more people who buy their deals, the bigger and better the discounts get.

Who wouldn’t want to sign up? If you refer one of your bffs, Tippr will give her $5. If she spends it, Tippr gives you the same. Sounds like good logic to us.

And that’s just the Tippr of the iceberg.

Five o’clock never comes fast enough, especially during the warm months. Luckily, you still have four more hours of sunshine to sip and sup these days when you’re done with your day.

Try something new for happy hour at two already-loved locations:
Cantina’s upping the cocktail ante with their newest Peruvian spirit, Pisco. Just make sure you drink it with a Lima. Located at 580 Sutter Street, 415/398-0195.

Meanwhile, San Fran’s newest love, Frances, is premiering a new, green technology to help you pay for a beer and get… a glass of wine on tap. Start with a pitcher full, and pay as you go. Or better yet, find a man at the Bachelor Auction to pay for you. What a Diva doesn’t drink, he won’t need to pay for. (And at $1 per ounce, he won’t care!) Located at 3870 17th Street, 415/621-3870.

For weekend trips to the Peninsula, take your fam to Café Renzo. They may be new to Palo Alto (May 25 was the grand opening), but not to the fabulous feasts of Italia. Portions are large, prices decent, and the service is stellar. Located at 473 University Ave, 650/329-8300.

Summer, summer, summer time.

That is, unless she’s at the 7th Annual SF Bachelor Auction.

Welcome to your paradise, lady. Each lot packs a whole lotta hot: NFL quarterbacks, tech CEOs, SF firemen… You’d give almost any of them a date just about anywhere (McDonalds, anyone?). But because The Guardsmen know how fundraising should really be done, you’ll actually be driving in a Jag from Saks to Gary Danko with your hottie in the passengers. Did we mention this auction helps almost 3,000 disadvantaged youth?

So mark your iCal for June 24. You’ll get all the champagne you need at the VIP reception from 6:00-7:30 pm, and plenty of time to mingle before the auction starts at 8:30. Famed DJs will be present, so bring on your boogie, and RSVP here. Located at Ruby Skye, 420 Mason St. General admission starts at $20, VIP tickets at $50.

Sold! To the Diva on the left with legs for days.

Hey, sister, Sol stice-er.

Sometimes San Fran seems to offer such all-or-nothing choices. Swanky with some sleaze vs. low-key and a looser crowd. Good food and drinks served in dingy digs, or ambiance only. What gives?
A five-star locale that actually deserves each star… in the Bay? Get out. But it’s true! You can say goodbye to either-or options this summer at the Rosewood’s newest in luxe and California lovin’ – Madera.

Madera brings the outside in. Translation: you get breathtaking views of the Santa Cruz Mountains with your signature TGIF cocktail, though you may want to go with vino, since one of the world’s 400 credential advanced sommeliers made the wine list. Local VC’s and i-Bankers abound, so expect your drinks to be bought for you.

Did we mention the walls are vertical slices of old Redwoods, and that both the resto and adjacent lounge spill out onto patios equipped with stuffed lounge chairs and heat lamps? Don’t worry – the attentive staff knows you’re always cold, so they have fleece blankets for you, too. Located at 2825 Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, 650/561-1540.

Madera. Made for the era of Diva.

Okay, Diva. We’re just going to give this to you in summary. Bullet points are all you need when the offering is this good.

$1 martinis, holler! Free pizza happy hour Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Daily risotto and wood-baked gnocchi, not to mention 10 seasonal pastas, at a Michelin-rated resto near your office. Don’t worry – it’s now open on Saturdays, too.

You’re already in the know about Palio D’Asti. It’s your fave place to mangiare in the financial district, after all. What you may not know is that Palio is about to turn 20. And it’s hosting quite the celebration to show off its newly renovated face-lift.

Every time you come in for lunch and dinner between now and July (the pre-fix prices for both were just reduced), you’ll be entered to win prizes valued up to $1,500 – a cocktail reception for 20, an “Iron Chef” style mixology class for 12, a special wine pairing dinner for 6… Any way you spin it, that’s a lot of martinis. More deets here. Located at 640 Sacramento Street, 415/395-9800.

Because there’s no place like Italy to compare stilettos.
