Five o’clock never comes fast enough, especially during the warm months. Luckily, you still have four more hours of sunshine to sip and sup these days when you’re done with your day.

Try something new for happy hour at two already-loved locations:
Cantina’s upping the cocktail ante with their newest Peruvian spirit, Pisco. Just make sure you drink it with a Lima. Located at 580 Sutter Street, 415/398-0195.

Meanwhile, San Fran’s newest love, Frances, is premiering a new, green technology to help you pay for a beer and get… a glass of wine on tap. Start with a pitcher full, and pay as you go. Or better yet, find a man at the Bachelor Auction to pay for you. What a Diva doesn’t drink, he won’t need to pay for. (And at $1 per ounce, he won’t care!) Located at 3870 17th Street, 415/621-3870.

For weekend trips to the Peninsula, take your fam to Café Renzo. They may be new to Palo Alto (May 25 was the grand opening), but not to the fabulous feasts of Italia. Portions are large, prices decent, and the service is stellar. Located at 473 University Ave, 650/329-8300.

Summer, summer, summer time.

One of the hardest parts about living in this city is weeding through all the men. Three-fourths of them aren’t even interested in girls, and the rest? Most are just so. not. it. So when she finds a good one, no smart Diva likes to hear, “going once, going twice…”

That is, unless she’s at the 7th Annual SF Bachelor Auction.

Welcome to your paradise, lady. Each lot packs a whole lotta hot: NFL quarterbacks, tech CEOs, SF firemen… You’d give almost any of them a date just about anywhere (McDonalds, anyone?). But because The Guardsmen know how fundraising should really be done, you’ll actually be driving in a Jag from Saks to Gary Danko with your hottie in the passengers. Did we mention this auction helps almost 3,000 disadvantaged youth?

So mark your iCal for June 24. You’ll get all the champagne you need at the VIP reception from 6:00-7:30 pm, and plenty of time to mingle before the auction starts at 8:30. Famed DJs will be present, so bring on your boogie, and RSVP here. Located at Ruby Skye, 420 Mason St. General admission starts at $20, VIP tickets at $50.

Sold! To the Diva on the left with legs for days.

Why does comfort food always have to involve heavy cream and kill-me calories? Can’t a girl get some old fashioned goodness in her grub without the overload on grease?

According to Solstice, yes, she can. And to prove it, Social Diva and Drink Me Magazine are giving away two dinners for two, so you can taste the soul yourself. Don’t worry, each dinner comes with two glasses from their amazing – slash – eclectic list of vino. Alcohol art and culture enthusiast mag Drink Me wouldn’t leave you high and dry like that.

It seems Sol food can have sugar and spice and everything nice. Send this to friends who will name drop you when they Enter To Win for our offer*. If one of them win, maybe she’ll share some hand-cut frites two ways with you as a consolation prize. Located at 2801 California @ Divisadero, 415/359-1222.

Hey, sister, Sol stice-er.

*Winner will be drawn on June 30th.

Sometimes San Fran seems to offer such all-or-nothing choices. Swanky with some sleaze vs. low-key and a looser crowd. Good food and drinks served in dingy digs, or ambiance only. What gives?
A five-star locale that actually deserves each star… in the Bay? Get out. But it’s true! You can say goodbye to either-or options this summer at the Rosewood’s newest in luxe and California lovin’ – Madera.

Madera brings the outside in. Translation: you get breathtaking views of the Santa Cruz Mountains with your signature TGIF cocktail, though you may want to go with vino, since one of the world’s 400 credential advanced sommeliers made the wine list. Local VC’s and i-Bankers abound, so expect your drinks to be bought for you.

Did we mention the walls are vertical slices of old Redwoods, and that both the resto and adjacent lounge spill out onto patios equipped with stuffed lounge chairs and heat lamps? Don’t worry – the attentive staff knows you’re always cold, so they have fleece blankets for you, too. Located at 2825 Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, 650/561-1540.

Madera. Made for the era of Diva.

$1 martinis, holler! Free pizza happy hour Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Daily risotto and wood-baked gnocchi, not to mention 10 seasonal pastas, at a Michelin-rated resto near your office. Don’t worry – it’s now open on Saturdays, too.

You’re already in the know about Palio D’Asti. It’s your fave place to mangiare in the financial district, after all. What you may not know is that Palio is about to turn 20. And it’s hosting quite the celebration to show off its newly renovated face-lift.

Every time you come in for lunch and dinner between now and July (the pre-fix prices for both were just reduced), you’ll be entered to win prizes valued up to $1,500 – a cocktail reception for 20, an “Iron Chef” style mixology class for 12, a special wine pairing dinner for 6… Any way you spin it, that’s a lot of martinis. More deets here. Located at 640 Sacramento Street, 415/395-9800.

Because there’s no place like Italy to compare stilettos.

You appreciate certain people for making you who you are. And then there are those for whom you’re just grateful.

Take Momma Diva. Whether you’re skittish with joy or desperately needing to process, she’s there, so you’re on the scout for a perfect celebratory spot – Mother’s Day is approaching fast!

For the city-living madres, culinary options abound. Peruvian seafood, aka cebiche, is at its peak at La Mar, where you’ll savor the San Francisco sea breeze on a mother-daughter escapade to America del Sur. Romance language devotees may prefer M Day-inspired cocktails at Chez Papa Bistro where Chef Bazirgan wishes all lovely ladies “a bientot.” We know you’re one, so we’re confident yo’ mama is, too.

Savor the Mama-ment across the Bay with endless Mimosas and house-made truffles. As if that isn’t reason enough, FIVE’s jazz brunch will also serve their signature Man N Cheese with smoked gouda and tomato jam. Over in wine country, Carneros Bistro’s brunch will have you and Mom debating which team member’s mother – hence, which country in the world – has the best recipe. Once you decide, their sommelier will pair your meal with female-made vino.

Mom’s the word.

We know – you’re beyond ready to bid adieu to April’s frizzy locks and hair flops, and say aloha to May. But while you’re waiting, why not take a quick trip to where each drop is dry, and people can’t say snow to Diva?

Welcome to Beaver Creek, Colorado. Here, you ski with the pros on five-star slopes by day, and dine with them by night. The restaurants have the same rating, so be sure you remember your jewels. Uggs, jeans and dripping diamonds never looked so good. It seems beauty is only ski deep after all.

For the ultimate in rustic luxe, make your res at Chateau Beaver Creek. This ski-in and ski-out digs is high on square footage, and only a five-minute walk from the town’s village. Hello, you are in Switzerland. Their price tag may be high, but it’s worth it (and so are you). Splendido, the in-house resto, is one of America’s finest, and mountain-top Beano’s Cabin is also perf. Last we were there, we peeped Heidi Klum.

All that glitters may not be gold… but if it’s not, it’s snow.

Who: Posse Oenophile and wine-derful you

What: The perfect winter wine down….

Wine: Right now! What noir you waiting for?

Where: One of the nicest things about living in San Fran is having Napa in your backyard. And since no one does fine dining like you, what better Valley destination than its culinary epicenter, Yountville? With restaurants owned by celeb chefs Richard Reddington, Thomas Keller AND Michael Chiarello – many with Michelin stars, and all within walking distance – you can’t get much better. We recommend Bottega, but keep your eyes out for Vita, opening soon.

Why: Because a Diva’s all about options. Spend your day in Oakville, Rutherford or St. Helena — all are equidistant from Yountville. When you’re wined out, a nap is only minutes away, and then you can resume sippin’. Boutique shopping, killer tasting rooms and bocci ball courts are available, too.

How: As if you even need to ask. Bardessono is Napa’s newest in green ultra luxe, and hosts a rooftop pool party every Wednesday in the summer. Or stay on a more cost-effective track at the Napa Valley Railway Inn – each room is a refurbished 100-year old train car.

It’s called noiR & noiR.
