We also had a chance to explore San Francisco and catch the last rays of the setting sun.

Love.

It is a force that binds and leaves us stronger for the experience. Rachel and Chris kept their ceremony focused on intimate family members that came from both coasts. They then explored a little of what is SF and with joy and humor (there is a car story involved here as seen in the images below:) we captured a piece of their story.

Two people realizing that the journey of life is better because they have met each other. Christine and Matt embodied that rich and wonderful energy plus they have a great sense of humor. We had the pleasure of capturing their day at SF City Hall and then racing off to the beach before sunset. Their intimate friends and family celebrated with them and showered them with laughter and love.

It was the last day of Summer in the sun lit Carmel Valley, perfect for Lauren and Michael’s Wedding.

They celebrated it as they live each day — with passion, laughter, fabulous friends and family. The rustic Holman ranch exuded the charm and timelessness that bespoke of its rich Californian history.

Friends and family came in from all over the continent and afar to join the two in a magnificent outdoor ceremony and courtyard dinner.

They ate, dance and laughed the evening away.

We know that it is just the beginning of their wonderful love poem!

Kristine & Christian’s Wedding | Byington Winery | Los Gatos

What do you get when you add a race car driver, a water maven and a love of wine?

You get Kristine and Christian’s wedding at the Byington winery! Nestled in the Santa Cruz mountains overlooking Los Gatos, and with perfect weather, Byington Winery offered as pretty a venue as you’d ever find. It also necessitated navigating through several long miles of windy mountain roads, something we’re sure people relished, judging by the number of car enthusiasts on the premises that day.

The picturesque locale was the perfect place for Kristine and Christian to laugh and enjoy their friends and family. Friends came from far and wide and celebrate their day and celebrate they did after a sun filled ceremony on the hill top.

We wish them the best and know they had a day to remember and we were proud to be there.

Katelyn & Weston Wedding | Lawrence Hall of Science | Berkeley

What is so wonderful about Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley is that the day can go from sunshine to fog in the space of an hour.

How we deal with it shows a little of our mettle. For Katelyn and Weston, they simply smiled and enjoyed the change as we know they will on their journey of life.

What a day! We started in the sun and the bridal party were a delight to create with! When Katelyn and Weston’s families arrived, we knew where their joie de vivre came from

The ceremony was in front of the whale in the courtyard and surrounded by mist — the ocean came to shore!

The reception was filled with warm speeches of a lifetime of friendships and then the party began — the group laughed, danced and laughed some more.

With a foundation of family and friends as rich as Katelyn and Weston’s, we know that their life journey will be full and complete with each other,

Katelyn & Wes Engagement Session | Berkeley

Berkeley is one of those places.

You know, the type of place that has great restaurants, an awesome university, quirky personality and fun smart people.

It also has Volvos.

This is a story about Volvos or rather, two people who are Volvo people.

Katelyn and Wes wanted to capture things or places that told their story and what better place than their home (front porch) and walking to the coolest of shopping marts, the Berkeley Bowl — I can’t tell you how many people mention that particular place

Then it was a war of Volvos. Wes has a classic that is in amazing condition (and the shape that ALL Volvos were meant to be) and Katelyn, well Katelyn’s is a little newer and nicer — hey, she’s got class!

We had so much fun with them and are looking very forward to this weekend — their weekend!

Sarah & Joe’s Wedding | Westover Winery | Castro Valley

Personality and story.

A wedding is as unique as the couple and that means that each “story” is a one of a kind. Sarah and Joe are definitely that!

They wanted their story to reflect who they are. It was to be simple, fun and to capture many of the little moments of friends and family. We also wanted to make sure we got the beautiful dress that she’d made herself and the amazing cake topped with the frog bride and groom — there is a family story behind that too

The Westover Winery was the perfect setting that kept it all together in their style. Our best to the couple and congratulations to the two wonderful families!

Sarah & Joe's Wedding at the Westover Winery

James & Queenie’s Wedding | The Bridges Golf Club | San Ramon

James and Queenie were married at The Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon. It was a truly beautiful day, and it began with us photographing their First Viewing. After that we shot the entire wedding party in the cool (both literally and figuratively) tunnel connecting the two parts of the golf course together before heading out to nearby Bollinger Waterfall for what we thought would be cool shots.

Alas, the falls were turned off, presumably to conserve water. However, we made the best of it, as the rocky terrain surrounding the falls were awesome props as well.

Back to Bridges for the ceremony and reception we went.

James looked dapper and Queenie was absolutely radiant as they tied the knot before friends and family. Reception festivities included cake-cutting, bouquet and garter toss, and a lot of dancing, including some Lindy Hop!

It was truly a pleasure to work with Queenie and James, and we wish them all the best as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Jamie & Raymond’s Wedding | Dublin Ranch Golf Course

Jamie and Ray got married under perfect weather at the Dublin Ranch Golf Course.

They were a lot of fun during their engagement session earlier in the year, and we were expecting more for their wedding. Boy, did they deliver. From the anime-style mushroom themed cake, to Jamie’s gift to Ray of Transformers cuff links, to the stop at the local frozen yogurt parlor, it was one cool surprise after another. And even their friends share their sense of humor and adventure — including the pastors!

During the reception, we heard a couple of the best toasts this year — the guests were in stitches.

Jamie and Ray were an absolute pleasure to work with: even taking a break from for a ride in golf carts, and a second break for a dusk shot. And we even got to see old friends (whose weddings we shot)!
