Los Altos History Museum Wedding Photography | Amy and Garrett

Words cannot begin to describe the amount of fun we had at Amy and Garrett's gorgeous wedding! Jessica and Joey photographed these two lovebirds at the Los Altos History Museum, one of our favorite venues with an incredible, garden setting. Surrounded by the silliest and most carefree bridal party, we found ourselves laughing with them late into the night.

The two celebrated their celtic heritage by inviting a bagpiper and irish dancers to entertain their guests! They even had a mashed potato bar at the end of the night, complete with every topping imaginable! They also wanted to honor Garrett's commitment to the fire department by taking some photos in his gear. We loved all the original details of the day!

San Francisco City Hall Wedding | Danielle & Jonathan

It may not be much of a surprise to hear that most men don't enjoy being photographed, especially in a romantic setting. Most men quickly warm up to it when they realize that all they really have to do is cuddle and kiss their gorgeous ladies. This however, was not the case for Danielle and Jonathan. Jonathan went above and beyond to create the perfect wedding day for his gorgeous bride. He literally cleared out the staircase at San Francisco City Hall just by asking everyone nicely, a usually impossible feat. His dedication and love for her was so apparent, it just made my heart melt. Their private ceremony the fourth floor was intimate and full of tears of joy. It was a beautiful day! It was such a pleasure meeting and getting to you know you two, Danielle and Jonathan! Your love for each other is so apparent and I can only imagine the incredible future you two will have together, starting with your honeymoon to Iceland, France and South Africa! Diana and Rick's wedding day is one that I won't soon forget! I was overwhelmed by all the love between not only the bride and groom, but their friends and family as well. Their romantic wedding day, which was actually a destination wedding for them, began at the gorgeous Fairmont Hotel in Sonoma, where the two did their first look and exchanged sweet notes. How pretty are those light pink bridesmaid dresses, especially when paired with the gorgeous bouquets by FleurEssence?! We then headed to Gloria Ferrer, with it's stunning views and romantic wine caves! Rick's Dad officiated their ceremony which made it even sweeter and more personal. The evening was full of laughter, tears, and of lots of love. Laurent Fourgo and His Ensemble had everyone up on their feet, dancing the night away!

We are searching for our newest assistant! This position is great for college students looking for part time work.

The time has come for me move away from the best job I've ever had which means I am searching for my replacement. This is a job for a self motivated individual who is interested in learning more about wedding photography. Amanda (the boss lady - she's awesome) is an amazing mentor and literally trained me on how to not only work a camera on manual settings, but how to interact and direct a wedding day successfully. Take that, art school!

As I'll still be doing the editing from afar, your main duties will be to select the best photos from Amanda's various shoots, reply to client emails, blog our most recent work and post it all over the internet. We'll also teach you how to get our weddings published on wedding blogs. Amanda will also need your help assisting her at weddings which is where you'll be able to observe the professional in action an get paid for it!

An ideal assistant would:
a. Have a positive attitude
b. Be comfortable using a Mac
c. Great grammar and creative writing skills! You'll be posting on our blog regularly.
c. Muscles! Well, strength actually. You must be able to carry around a fair amount of camera equipment on wedding days.
d. Super organization skills!
e. Dependable and communicative
f. A love for adventure and romance
e. A flexible schedule and MUST have ability to work on most Saturday's and some Sundays when we have weddings booked, which is very often in the spring, summer and fall.

If you are skilled at any of these things then bonus points for you!
1. Using blogger
2. Marketing on FB, Instagram, Pinterest, and other social media platforms
3. Lightroom, Photoshop and/or Photo Mechanic
4. Experience with Canon DSLR's.

Codornices Park and Highwire Coffee Wedding Photography in Berkeley, CA | Charles and Nikki

We'd love for you all to give a round of applause to Shelley, supermom of the year! She put together this fun and beautiful Berkeley wedding. Her son, Charles, met the love of his life, Nikki, and decided to tie the knot with her as soon as he could. These two New Yorkers didn't want a traditional wedding, but instead, a colorful, fairytale inspired celebration. The two held their ceremony and cocktail hour at Codornices Park in Berkeley, just across the street from the Rose Garden. Guests followed adorable signs into a forest or redwood trees to what felt like a secret garden. After exchanging rings, the group headed to Highwire Coffee Roaster's new Berkeley cafe for the reception where they dined on delicious tacos from the Taco Guys truck, and sipped espressos. We had such a great day with this fun loving group!

We also have to mention that Nikki's mom actually made her super fun gown herself (cue second round of applause). Pairing it with her unique, feather headpiece infused even more magic into the look.

Maternity Session at the San Francisco Sutro Baths Ruins | Sarah and Hamid

I had an amazing time with Sarah and Hamid during their maternity photo session! Their excitement for the shoot was contagious and it was wonderful to see a dad-to-be just as enthusiastic as our expectant mom. We decided to capture their session down at the Sutro Bath Ruins by Lands End in San Francisco because it offers a wonderful variety of backdrops and unique settings. Hamid was amazing at making sure Sarah was taken care and did everything to make sure she got the photos she wanted! It wasn't easy getting up and down the hill to the ruins but these two were incredible sports about it and I think it was all worth it in the end. I cannot wait to see this beautiful family grow!

Wright's Station Vineyard & Winery Engagement Photography in Los Gatos, CA | Neda and Saam

I first photographed Neda and Saam last year in downtown Los Gatos, which is where Neda grew up, and then down at Capitola Beach where we witnessed the prettiest, pink sunset. Check out the photos here! We had also hoped to visit Wright's Station Vineyard & Winery but due to some terrible traffic, we didn't have time. Luckily, we were able to go back and finally capture the two of them in the Santa Cruz Mountains at Wright's Station, which is just plain gorgeous, with it's green vines and lavender bushes. We had so much fun together and it was a great way to get to know each other even more before their big day at the Sainte Claire Hotel in San Jose. Is it August yet?!

Lauren and Ryan wanted to keep their engagement shoot, light, fun and iconically San Francisco. We started the shoot on Portrero Hill and while the wind was strong, and the chill was freezing, you couldn't tell because of the smiles on their faces! They were such troopers, game for anything! We then moved on to Lover's Lane where we able to capture more intimate portraits of the two. I always enjoy these more intimate sessions where the love and excitement between a newly engaged couple is so palpable. Our final stop was Pier 7 where we captured them in front of the beautiful, skyline of San Francisco.

Amelia and Brett's winter wedding at the Palm Events Center in Livermore was truly one for the books. Full of rich hues and jewel tones, it was a stunning affair complete with an epic dance party, doughnut flambé buffet, and a VW getaway van! These two are the epitome of happy, vibrant energy and this energy was evident in every detail of their wedding. Their vendors are some of the best in the business and it was an honor to capture the floral magic of Nicole Ha's designs as well as Maria Chang and PMA's perfect hair and makeup styling.

No stranger to boldness and brightness, they decked out the beautiful Palm Events Center in opulent tones of berry, fuchsia, and violet. The bridesmaids were a true sight in their ombre berry toned dresses. Their rich palette lent such a decadent, unique feel to the already gorgeous venue. Thankfully, the grounds were just perfect for their portrait session, with the yellow and green vineyards under a crisp, winter light.

Staying true to their playful and festive theme of the wedding, Amelia and Brett made their grand exit in a vintage VW van as family and friends sent them off with waves and well wishes. Congratulations Amelia and Brett! If your wedding is any indication of your life together, it will no doubt be a hugely successful, beautiful and a whole lot of fun.

San Francisco City Hall Destination Wedding Photography | Courtney and Tyler

Courtney and Tyler are two amazing individuals from Arizona with some of the biggest smiles I've ever had the pleasure of photographing! They lived in San Francisco while Tyler was in dental school which is why tying the knot in the San Francisco Bay Area was an obvious choice for them. They rented out the Fourth Floor North Gallery for their ceremony where Courtney's brother officiated and both their families looked on. It was a very emotional time, particularly because Courtney had lost both her father and brother recently. She carried their photos on her bouquet to hold them close to her heart, as her mother walked her down the aisle. Their vows had everyone crying and laughing simultaneously, photographers included!

One of my favorite moments of the day was photographing their first look. Tyler was a little nervous but once he saw his bride, there was no wiping the smile off his face! I also have to mention what a great send off these two had! Their families lined up outside of the iconic City Hall doors as the couple ran through a flurry of pink ribbons. You can always have a proper send off, even at City Hall!

We ended their session at Baker Beach where we had to capture them with the always photogenic Golden Gate Bridge. Congratulations Courtney and Tyler! I am so glad I was able to be part of such a special day for the two of you.

I also have to give a big thanks to Susie Chhuor for doing an amazing job on Hair and makeup, not that I'd expect anything less than perfection. And of course a big thank you goes out to Kayla Fletcher for being such a fantastic, second photographer. You ladies make my job even more amazing!

Half Moon Bay Ritz Carlton Marriage Proposal Photography | Annie &Bernie

There is no greater joy than witnessing the utter and unabashed happiness of your family and close friends. This surprise proposal was just that for me. Annie has been a longtime friends of mine from my UC Santa Barbara days and I have gotten to know Bernie through the years as Annie’s other half. These two are an absolute perfect match for each other and oh their love, their love is so refreshingly real, honest and pure, without any pretensions or fluff, you know, the kind of love that endures. And Bernie’s proposal, well, it was the perfect reflection of this honest love. Just the two of them, a weekend beach giveaway no extravagant fanfare, just a simple question, a beautiful setting and heartfelt joy.

I especially love the photo of them high-fiving each other because it is such an accurate reflection of their relationship. Definitely not a typical shot you’d see during a proposal but one that really shows the goofy and supportive nature of their relationship.

I have always loved being a part of surprise proposals and well when it’s that of your close friend, it really doesn’t get much better! Thank you for allowing me to be part of this special moment and a HUGE congrats to my good friends, Annie and Bernie!

Romantic Carmel Engagement Photography in Carmel, CA | Violet and Romel

Violet and Romel were born to be on camera! These two gorgeous human beings took me all around Carmel for their engagement session where we had a great time exploring some of the little city's most beautiful areas. Mission Carmel was by far one of my favorite spots, especially in the springtime when all of the flowers are blooming. I also loved that Violet and Romel were up for anything and willingly stopped along the road when we saw a picturesque area. Sometimes those spots off the beaten path are just the best!

I can already tell that their August wedding will be one for the books and I cannot wait!

Los Gatos Family Portrait Session | Julie, Jeff, and Eli

Here is another session from one of my favorite families to work with! Julie and Jeff really wanted to capture Eli in his second year and I am so glad we did! While photographing two year olds is usually a challenge (and a workout!), we were able to make it fun by letting Eli do his thing, which more often than not, is running at full speed in every which direction. There is something magical about being able to capture a family as they are rather than in a studio setting where it's easy for photos to look a little stiff. By allowing Eli to run and climb, we captured some great expressions from both him and his parents. We did eventually realize that if we put Eli in the tall grass, it seemed to be like a gate surrounding him, and he would stand just where we left him. What a cutie pie!

I already cannot wait for our next session together!

Berkeley Six Month Baby Portrait Photography Session | Baby James

I must warn you that this next post is guaranteed to put a gigantic smile on even the most serious of faces. Baby James is one of the cutest babies I have ever photographed! It is nearly impossible to take a bad photo of such a heart breaker and his big, brown eyes. With Kate and Walker as parents, I should have expected nothing less! I am in love with the photos of this cuddle bug in bed with Kate, and well, every other photo, too. The sweetness between him and his pup/big sister is heartwarming and I am so glad we were able to capture the duo on camera.

An Elegant and Bohemian San Francisco Private Estate Wedding | Peyton and Prati

You may remember Peyton and Prati's epic engagement session in Jackson, Wyoming a few months back, with the Grand Tetons serving as our backdrop. Well I dare say that their destination wedding in San Francisco, California is just as wow worthy!

The two exchanged vows in the garden of an incredible private estate in San Francisco's Marina District. The nondescript gate takes you from the urban streets and, quite literally, into a secret garden. Peyton has this magical way of excuding elegance with a touch of bohemian flair, especially in her stunning BHLDN gown. Her sweet pup acted in as flower girl and made the perfect edition to this beautiful wedding party.

Their reception was held at an old piano shop located by Market Street where the they and their families danced the night away. The vintage details were all beautiful and effortless and we couldn't have asked for a more magical day!

Amy and Garrett are two of the most down to earth and sweet people you'll ever meet! We had such a great time with them on their engagement session around San Francisco. We began the afternoon at the Embarcadero where we took some photos by Cupid's Span and on Pier 14 with it's amazing views of the SF skyline and bay bridge. We of course had to take some photos in their Giant's World Series gear while here. We really cannot get over how cute these two are!

We then traveled to Lover's Lane, one of our favorite locations, to capture some romantic shots amongst the tall trees. While we were in the Presidio area, we decided to take some photos with the old, red brick buildings which Amy loves! It was when we were racing the fog and traveling to the Golden Gate Bridge that Garrett, the EMT, sprang to action after witnessed an accident involving a car and bike. What a great guy!

Thank you two for an amazing afternoon! We cannot wait to see what you have in store for your wedding day!

San Francisco City Hall and Cliff Lede Vineyards Two Day Wedding | Sarah and Stanley

Sarah and Stanley are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet and traveled all the way from Canada to throw their two part wedding celebration. While there are many things that we love about this wedding, we are particularly obsessed with Sarah's gorgeous Naeem Khan wedding gown! The detail is stunning and Sarah wore it effortlessly. We also loved seeing lily of the valley peeking out of her bouquet and taking mainstage on the groom's boutonniere. Such unique details make a photographer very happy!

We began the first part of their marriage celebration at San Francisco City Hall for their wedding ceremony where they rented out the fourth floor. After exchanging rings, we drove up to Potrero Hill to take some photos with the San Francisco Skyline in the background. We then joined their family for a luncheon and banquet dinner.

The second half of their celebration took place the next day in Napa, at the beautiful, Cliff Lede Vineyards. There they enjoyed a relaxed afternoon, sipping wine and eating an incredible feast as the sun set over the vineyards. They really knew how to throw a perfect, California wedding.

San Francisco City Hall Wedding Photography | Kirsty and Nick

One of my favorite parts about being a photographer is having the opportunity to meet amazing people from around the world! Kirsty and Nick decided to travel all the way from Canada to be married at the gorgeous, San Francisco City Hall and I couldn't be happier about it! They were so sweet and easy going which made the day so much fun! They rented out the Mayor's Balcony for their ceremony which allowed them and all of their guests a little privacy amidst a very busy City Hall.

Once the ceremony was over, we all hopped onto a Cable Car and headed out for a tour of the city, stopping at Baker Beach to snap some beautiful shots with the Golden Gate Bridge. Congratulations, Kirsty and Nick!
