Yes, I have been so slack with this blogging thing. It’s not like nothing is happening in my life or anything. It’s just that I really haven’t felt like sharing it with anyone.

Today I finally have a Sunday off and it started with being forced to listen to the neighbour’s opera music that they were playing way too loud.Really didn’t feel like getting up this morning, but laying in bed listening to that kind of music isn’t that pleasant either.

I finally picked up the last boxes from our move from Australia. They were still in Ian’s car that’s in storage at a friends house. It had our clothes, shoes and other stuff in it. Glad we finally picked it up,so at least I have some more clothes I can wear.

After we just came home my parents came by for a visit. My brother also rang when they were here and we got some bad news; no one is allowed to visit my nephew for a minimum of six months. Oh boy, does that suck! But… all we want for him is to get better so if that means we have to stay away, then we will.

Sitting, waiting, wishing…

I’m sittting, waiting, wishing…

Nothing is harder than to sit back and not being able to do anything at all. I’ve never felt so helpless in my life. I can not explain how badly I want my little nephew to feel better and that he was cured from his leukemia and all the extra unwanted complications. I was just looking at pictures of him on the intensive care. It breaks my heart. I wish I could give him a big cuddle and take away all the pain, diseases and discomfort.

Last Thursday I had an awesome time at Ahoy in Rotterdam. I really enjoyed myself even though Caleb was b*tching about the “Sex Somebody” fans (fans who only come to hear Sex on Fire and Use Somebody). I wished they played a bit more of the old stuff. I wished they played “Trani”, but I guess that will always stay a dream as they haven’t played it at all three concerts I went to. It was disappointing that the concert got cut short and they left without an encore, but the songs that they did play were awesome!

We’re back!

After a lot of rushing to sell our stuff and give things away to charity, we finally made it to Holland. We’re living in our own little house close to the woods with view on farm animals happily running through the paddock. I also got a job in the swimming pool. You would almost think that things couldn’t be better. Unfortunately we had the news that my cute little 3 year old nephew has leukemia. It’s a big shock to all of us and we’re praying every night for him to get better.

Kings of Leon in Ahoy

Just heard the good news…

Kings of Leon is going back to Holland this year!!

And guess what? We will back in Holland by time they are going to play in Ahoy, Rotterdam on the 2nd of July.

In fact… My mum already has ordered two tickets for us!!! Fingers crossed that we get the tickets..

Kings of Leon Concert Brisbane

Initially we missed out on tickets to the Kings of Leon concert in Brisbane, but thanks to Ebay (and $550 for 2 tickets) we were able to go anyway.

I was so freaking excited that I couldn’t sleep for nights. For days I was bouncing up and down and was counting down the minutes until we could finally go.

We were there early, before the gates opened, just to soak up the atmosphere and watch people (yes, I love to watch people). I was a bit amazed at the crowd that was coming to a KOL concert, but hey… Who doesn’t love Kings of Leon?

When the doors finally opened we got a good spot at the front row. The Stills was an awesome band that opened the night and it didn’t take long before I jumped and danced the night away.

At nine o’clock Kings of Leon finally appeared and from then on I just couldn’t stop moving. My God!! They are so freaking awesome when they play live. I absolutely loved the old stuff they played although the crowd only seemed to warm up for the songs of their latest album (SUCKERS!!!). The concert was awesome although I wished they had played trani.

We came home around midnight, but I was still on such a high that I couldn’t go to sleep…

Moving back to Holland

I know it’s been a long time since I have updated this blog. I know… I am slack, but honestly I haven’t really had much to write about. So, what’s the latest news? Well.. we’re moving back to Holland.

Not that that is new, but now it’s finally going to happen. Our lease is up on the 5th of May and we want to be back in Holland before that. So we need to sell ALL of our stuff and arrange the move…

Great Barrier Reef

Yesterday I was playing around a bit with Intervideo DVD creator and made a little video. I used the pictures I took while snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef on the 24th of November 2008. The pictures were taken on a reef near Green Island ( approximately two hours from Cairns) in Australia. I used the song Woo Hoo from the Kings of Leon as background music. Hope you like the video!

The holiday is over

Our holiday is finally over and at the moment I feel completely deflated. I am not sure why I feel so depressed. Maybe it’s because from now on it will be the same shit, just a different day.

The holiday itself was great; meeting up with family and friends in Holland and travelling around in Australia. The only problem of a wonderful holiday is that the reality of ‘normal’ life hits you twice as hard. You see how different life can be. You get a little taste of something nice and you just don’t want to go back to same shit different day.

One of the positive things that I desperately hold on to is the fact that we bought a wonderful little summer house in Holland. The location is perfect; close to my family, looking out over a nice paddock with animals and the bush right behind our doorstep.
