We are looking for parent volunteers for our 2nd annual Math/Science/Technology Fair. It will take place Thursday, Apr. 8th. We are looking for volunteers to demonstrate how their work or hobby uses science/tech/math in a hands-on way. Book Sale

Don’t miss our big book sale on March 13th! Bring your friends and neighbors and pick up some great reads for the whole family, and stop by our bookstore “cafe” for coffee and delicious treats. Annual Fund Update

The official annual fund brochures were mailed out the first week of Feb. This is our main fundraiser for the year, and it’s all in your hands now. Don’t delay — you can use the donation form and return the envelope or donate online at www.sanislo.org. Our total so far is about $5000, with a goal of $35,000.

The 4th Grade is sponsoring a book sale to raise money for their environmental field trip this spring. Grab your friends and neighbors and swing by the sale March 13th to pick up some great reads for the whole family. F.U.N. Volunteers

“Finding Urban Nature” is returning for its spring session at Sanislo, and the 3rd Grade teachers are looking for parents (or other interested adults) to assist in the program. Volunteers come to school for approximately one hour to lead small groups in a fun, hands-on science lesson. Training is provided for the four-week program. Talk with the 3rd Grade teachers or project manager Janelle Shafer (523-8243 or janelles@seattleaudubon.org) to learn more.

Box Tops Raise $1,900

January’s winner is Ms. Parkhurst’s class with 67. So far, Sanislo students have raised over $1,900 with the Box Tops program. 351 Box Tops were raised in January alone. Congratulations and keep on clipping!

Friday Popcorn / Bake Sales

The Spanish PTA’s Friday popcorn and bake sale has been a smashing success. They’ve raised about $80 for the PTA EACH WEEK! Donations of baked goods are always welcome. Bring your treats (marked “bake sale”) to the teachers lounge each Friday. If you’d like to help pop all that popcorn, join us in the lounge between 2:30-3:30. Thanks for helping make this such a successful fundraiser!

The Carnival is Coming

Yes, it’s that time! Our Winter Carnival is happening Friday, February 26 from 6:00-8:00 at Sanislo. There will be a cake walk, face painting, food, games and all kinds of fun! This event requires lots of volunteers to sell tickets, sell food, paint faces — usually a one-hour shift. Keep your eyes open for a big sign-up sheet in the hall.
