Embarked on this amazing journey, I still don’t know what it will hold on the way and where the wind will take us. So far, I set the sails for the better of the people and the planet.

This is it in brief:

I am now a Member of Parliament (MP or in German MdL) in Bavaria. My electorate is Munich East. I am also responsible for Ingolstadt.
I am a member of Parlamentarian Group Bündnis 90/Die Grünen. And I was elected for the time being from 2018-2023, when new elections will be held.

Of course there’s a Newsletter be aware, it’s in German… Kurz&Gut Newsletter and no worries, it does come not on a regular basis and only from time to time!

That’s what I am doing.

A bench in wandering, in search, in conquering the public space back it once dominated.  This arts project runs through 2014 in Germany’s most southern state Bavaria.

It has been developed together with Christiane Huber and in Cooperation with the Bahnhofsmissionen in Bayern. Today Christiane and the writer Friedrich Ani will sit now and than and occupy the bench, listen to stories, collect personal oral history.

Me, I’ll just take pictures. This one is from the Wanderbank in Passau earlier this month.

Walaa! is screening there. Walaa! is a documentary film about an Israeli-Arab women-football player. She lives in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel, she plays in Israel in the professional’s league, she used to be in the Israeli National Team and is now in the Palestinian National Team. She’s got an Israeli passport, is born and bred in Israel, never lived elsewhere but in Israel, has all her family there and will move there again after she finishes her studies in Jenin.
Checkpoints and borders dominate her life. But the real obstacles to overcome, are deep within the traditions of the Arab world.

I was lucky enough to do a wonderful project for the Bayerische Bahnhofsmissionen two years back with the Australian-German director  Vanessa van Houten. – Now the Munich based artist Christiane Huber has been invited to do a photography project with the guests of the Bahnhofsmission München.

An open space, many excited guests of the mission, a truly wonderful support from the staff and the many different stories, that flooded together with the people straight in to our studio, made this project a great success for all people involved.

The exhibition can be seen on the National Day of the Train Station Missions, Saturday, 20th of April 2013, Munich Central Station, Platform 11.

Our film is almost in the can, I’m looking forward to meet the excellent producers who have been prepping the China part of our shoot.

Having premiered earlier this year at Berlinale, Rodicas was not only winning over the audience in a packed outdoor cinema, but also convincing the jury:

Rodicas by Alice Gruia (Germany) for the beauty of the characters, two young eighty year old women with a strength we’d like to have. For the cinematic narrative used to show two lives so intense and the delicacy used to deal important issues such as death, suffering and joy. A debut movie of great sensitivity.
