Te voy a decirles. Aqui va, aqui va, aqui voy…<br /><br />Brandon has successfully moved to New York City. Actually you know what, I’m just going to say “I” since I (Brandon) am writing this. Bobby &amp; Bob may update the site themselves in the future so you’ll just have to check the end of the posting to see which one of us is updating. That way I don’t have to write in third person and feel weird about it.<br /><br />So yes, I’ve moved to New York City- Brooklyn, to be specific. You all may now call upon me should you need a place to stay for a couple days in the big city. It’s been nice so far. I spent all day yesterday unpacking and getting everything just so. Tuesday was fun too. I spent time with Lex’s sister and boyfriend, Tom who is in a band called Via Audio. We only had a small amount of time to dawdle around in his music room, but it was fun and informative. He’s currently teaching guitar lessons to a smattering of students and I’m going to try and become one of them. I’m hoping to understand the theory side of writing songs a little bit better in hopes that I’ll get a better grasp on songwriting. I want to understand WHY the songs I’ve written in the past sound so good to me. I’m hoping this isn’t going to be too much of a hindrance. I feel like the songs I’ve written and then sussed out with Bob and Bobby are pretty strong. Right now I feel that this is the best way to keep moving forward.<br /><br />I’ve brought a couple of small toys to Brooklyn to allow me to keep writing and record some demo type stuff. I’ve got to say that everything around me is very stimulating. The magnitude of the city and the architecture really moves me. Especially in the subways. I don’t know, maybe it’s just my nubile New York senses adjusting. I still find myself saying, “wow” a lot. Without further ado, we must thank our friends that have helped us along the way…<br /><br />First, we have to thank Patrick Sasser (<a href="http://www.www.patricksasser.com" target="_blank">www.patricksasser.com</a>) for designing this website. Without him, reading the rest of what I’m about to write would be impossible.<br /><br />We want to thank the artists that contributed to the EP’s design. Jeff Bailey’s cover painting of our likeness’ coupled with Mayan symbology is brilliant and you can find more of his work at <a href="http://www.blue80.com" target="_blank">www.blue80.com</a>. The sun on the CD itself was an original watercolor painting given to Brandon while still in Bolivia during his service with the United States Peace Corps by his good friend Emily Drakage. After throwing around ideas for album titles on a hike in the Azanaque mountains, which are nestled to the north of Huari, where Brandon lived during his service, Emily painted what you see today.<br /><br />We also want to thank Duane Trower at WestEnd Studios in Kansas City for his help in recording Fire Is Born. Duane was a great presence in the studio for us and offered a lot of very helpful remedies that made us sound our best.<br /><br />We also want to thank our good friend Nick Spohn for his tireless efforts in getting the EP mastered and ready for our release show.
