<p><em><strong>international eggs!</strong></em></p>
<p>She now is about, 20 years old and this is the first time she has layed an acutal egg.</p>
<p>She was quiet for days….and then it happened.  [September, 2nd] ….there was 1 egg.</p>
<p><a href="http://sansanparrots.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/IMG_2080.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="IMG_2080" src="http://sansanparrots.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/IMG_2080_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="IMG_2080" width="556" height="380" /></a></p>

<p>early in the afternoon……</p>
<p><a href="http://sansanparrots.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/IMG_2116.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="IMG_2116" src="http://sansanparrots.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/IMG_2116_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="IMG_2116" width="556" height="446" /></a></p>
<p>…later in the afternoon as you see the sun setting.</p>
<p>She remains quiet in the day, less chattering, but very sweet, allowing me to pet her.  It is sorta sad, for  she must really want this chick….and of course it is not a fertile egg.  Mrs. G, the lilac crown amazon sits near by and just watches.</p>
<p>I shall let her sit and care for her egg for a bit,  and in a few weeks, take it away, or hopefully she will leave it on her own.  I have had other  female birds do this, but they did not tend to their egg.</p>

<p><em>Dear Jordan,<br />
i have an Amazon, blue front, that has just recently started to fall of the perch at night. Nothing has changed in the cage, her mate does not fall, and she seems to move a little sluggish and uncoordinated when i see her in the day. Do you have ant idea why this is happening to her?</em></p>
<p><em>Ricardo</em></p>
<p><a href="http://sansanparrots.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/IMG_1526.jpg"><em><strong><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="IMG_1526" src="http://sansanparrots.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/IMG_1526_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="IMG_1526" width="556" height="635" /></strong></em></a><em><strong> </strong></em></p>
<p><em><strong>just Mrs. G perching and sleeping …how does she do it with only one foot on the perch???</strong></em></p>
<p>Dear Ricardo,</p>
<p>Yes, this might seem frightening to hear a thud in the middle of the night and find out your parrot fell off her perch.</p>
<p>There can be a number of reasons your parrot is falling off her perch at night.</p>
<ol>
<li>could there be something close by alarming the bird at night.. a noise, an animal walking by?</li>
<li>are the perches too slick</li>
<li>is your parrot moving around her cage and misgauging where things are because maybe you moved things around?  [this is where a simple night time cage would help]</li>
</ol>
<p>If you are not able on your own  figure out what can be the problem seeing the vet would be in proper order to make sure your parrot does not have any deficiencies or possible seizers.</p>
<p>I sure hope it is nothing major that was the issue, but it is always a good thing to have a very knowledgeable bird vet handy on  your list of important numbers.</p>
<p><em> </em></p>
