September is my favorite time of the year for family photography! The wildflowers in the forest preserves cannot be beat, they are so beautiful. September weather is usually nice, and you get the unique advantage of dressing for a summer vibe, or wearing sweaters and jackets for ‘fall’ photos. Here is just one example of a family that took advatage of the lovely landscape for their photos! Don’t wait for the cold, wind, and rain of October. Get out and enjoy the last month of summer, and the perfect backdrop for images.

Snowy Maternity Photos | Palatine Maternity Session

When I see snow on the ground, it seems like the perfect time to share a sweet Palatine maternity session from 2023! This couple was nervous about the snow, but I told them it would look so lovely in the photos. I did have to remove some snow from faces and eyes, but the end result is like a snow globe! I shoot outdoors all year long, so don’t hesitate to contact me for a session in the winter. Even if we don’t have active snow, the white landscape is universally flattering and your photos will pop!

Palatine Mini Sessions | Sara Hilton Photography 2024

Hello, fall!

Now that the hot September is over, it’s time to book your fall sessions! I have set up a few dates and locations to meet the needs of my clients this year.

First up is my favorite, urban fall sessions in beautiful downtown Palatine! There is so much variety around the town square. It is also just a short walk to the beautiful ivy wall near the Music Room.

Next up is a classic fall foliage session in Deer Grove forest preserve, it has a gorgeous variety of trees, stone bridge, and a field as well.

This little gem of a spot is a local park with fall trees that cannot be beat!

This beautiful spot is only available in the morning, but the trees are the BEST for holiday cards.

Our final location is a little-known spot that has lovely diverse evergreens with cozy pine needles and pinecones to add charm.

Sweet anniversary session | Palatine couples photographer

Native wildflowers close to home | Palatine Mini Session

When this beautiful naturalized detention basin was put in and planted a few years ago, I was the happiest gardener and photographer around! We are so lucky to have this beautiful landscape so close to home in a neighborhood park. I have decided to offer mini sessions here in late July and August, click here for more information!
