I am in denial, somehow we have reached 2015 - Where have the last few months gone?

Since I last posted on here my life has been filled with multi-tasking the many parts of my life to my max!

I will never complain, as life is far from dull.

Summer 2014 brought an interesting twist to Sarah Hill Stylist after a chance conversation gave me the opportunity to work alongside a fabulous wedding planner.

I am a creative person so I have no desire to plan the logistics of a wedding, but let me lose on the styling and I can now work as a team to make sure every brides dream becomes her reality.

I could chat on forever but in a nutshell 2014 also included ....

Meeting the amazing bridal designer Ian Stuart at the opening of his standalone store The Blew coat.(I had so wanted to wear one of his amazing gowns when I got married).
Visiting Emmy London also being lucky enough to chat with Emmy herself.
Taking a few spare days to visit my local city of beautiful Cambridge and act as a tourist does - taking in the fabulous Fitzwilliam museum and Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
Celebrating with my other work colleges 10 years of Esse Retail Therapy.
A new chapter to my ever growing family, meeting my eldest sons girlfriend from Cape Town and looking forward to watching there new life together.

So a well needed New Years break up in the Lake District spent with husband, youngest and the two labradoodles brings us up to date with each other. My New Years Resolutions are....

Week away = capsule travel case for week in fabulous Lanzarote villa with family.
Favourite items so far are ...
To travel, black strapless warehouse maxi with my trusty vintage 120% Lino denim jacket and scarf (scarf also being used as sarong by the pool)
One season kaftan + snakeskin effect Next bikini = day time by the pool.
Evening look black Groa maxi dress, worn as rushed midi dress - asymmetric neckline, works well for my pear shape.
My gold Aspiga sandals are working with all looks.
Biggest mistake so far ( day 3 ) Bombay sapphire !
Best last minute pack = travel Skinade & juice plus
Sun block = heliocare SPF 50 gel cream.

Chill,G&T, Elderflower and Brunch....

A night with no one apart from A ( my husband) and the doodles,

(we have 2 labradoodles, Charlie & Darwin).

Both my boys are back at uni and 12 year old Rock Chick is at another 13th Birthday party + a sleepover

= Friday night at home alone!

G&T with a dash of Elderflower cordial has been recommended and lives up to expectations + A (remember my husband) cooks Steak and chips = bliss evening, add in a catch up with a long lost friend whom I find out is moving to Edinburgh this summer - I feel a trip being planned.

Oh I forgot to mention a fabulous villa in Turkey that I have been given the details of with yoga and painting holidays planned and a girlfriend asking if I could join her for a few days in Barcelona!

Honestly this is not 3 G&T's talking it is real !

Conclusion what a great Friday night in !!!!

This morning the sleepy grumpy rock chick has arrived home in her over-sized onesie, A has taken us to the local farm shop for brunch (Saturdays at home for me are rare) add a quick shop around the farm store,

I have arrived home with tulips and narcissus, fresh berries for a pavlova plus Amaretti del Chiostro biscuits

( no reason just = yum).

Now I guess I need to create a pavlova and practice what I preach and rescue my own wardrobe.

I often team up with my friend Tracy, who I met on the Visual Merchandising Display & Design course we both trained at many years ago.

Over the years we have styled both our own Weddings and friends events.

The latest wedding decor styling was for Jodi & Sam Plumb at South Farm a distinctly different and amazing venue for their romantic vintage Wedding.

It was a privilege to set the scene for such a beautiful bride.

The feedback we received from Bride Jodi, her Mum and staff of South Farm has been amazing.

September soiree....

30 days (well nearly) spent planning a 40th celebration - 1 day styling home and garden with help from a fantastic friend = amazing results for a night full of fun-food-friends&laughter. Pics to follow asap.Other days have been spent on myself - I have over the last few years gently grown from a size 10 to a curvy 14 - nothing wrong with a few curves - only problem for me is the amount of beautiful classic clothes I own that have not fitted for at least 2 seasons = should be sold(Sarah hill stylist would say!) So I joined Weight Watchers and vowed to do as Patsy Kensit has and reach my target - A diet is not going to be enough so I purchased a copy of slim in six - I am on a mission!

Add to this Mama mio products "shrink to fit" - "Get Waisted" & "Boob Tube"= A stone lost + firmer skin and a new body regime!

I can now get back into those clothes = happy me!
So bring on the next few months and The hunt for the perfect "Little Black Dress"

So May is here and I have already been lucky enough to have been invited into 3 wardrobes which needed a little TLC.

I love opening the doors to a new clients wardrobe, what will I/we discover?

Designer or high street, every piece has a history and a tale to tell - will a personality emerge or a mix of the old and new?

The Wardrobe edit becomes very therapeutic, clearing away worn out pieces, finding forgotten gems - putting together items already owned into new outfits/looks = Helping to start building the perfect capsule wardrobe tailored to your own lifestyle.

A case study is emailed to you after the edit giving ideas for storage, moth protection and any gaps in your wardrobe (to work alongside your existing pieces) plus ways to put together difficult outfits.

It seems that I have forgotten to blog for weeks even months = I have been busy working in great wardrobes + discovering fabulous new places for personal shopping trips + installing great window displays.

So summer has turned into Autumn since my last blog = wardrobe update time......

Not enough time in the day

Oh my goodness, I have been away from here for too long.

Since my last blog I have enjoyed 10 lazy sun filled days in Lanzarote.
Packing was easy with my new concept ''Less is more''
This years best holiday buy (so far) the perfect black maxi dress from Warehouse, which when teamed with my trusted vintage 120% Lino denim jacket, Zara scarf, Vintage Linda Farrow sunglasses and this seasons Danish nude leather wooden flower sandals = The perfect travel outfit !

So that was end of June beginning of July and it is now August!

July was spent taking pics of some amazing pre loved items from gorgeous wardrobes ready for selling on line.

Visiting Selfridges for a scan in the amazing Bodymetrics scanner while on hunt for the perfect pair of jeans!
This day needs / deserves a blog of its own, so watch this space......

Flags,Champagne,bunting,rain & Inspiration!

Another week has flown by.

SUNDAY Starting off watching my husband and son string bunting outside the house (in the rain) - whilst I decked the inside with everything and anything red,white+blue!
Ending the day by joining the Jubilee celebrations at a friends garden party.

Monday we have found ourselves sitting at the front of the Mall drinking Champagne,wearing ponchos in the rain and waving flags ready for the concert!
By 3am we had made it home and watched ourselves on the TV rocking to Robbie and company!

Tuesday = getting over too much of a good time the day/night before.

Wednesday = straight into work to dismantle all Jubilee windows!

Thursday = started with a fantastic call via my twitter @Sarahhillstyle(watch this space). Followed by locating another gem to add to my shopping locations.

Friday = spent taking photos for up coming eBay and on-line store which will be selling gorgeous pre loved clothes and shoes.

Saturday = full day working on shop floor in boutique/spa.

Mixed in with this little list, I had guests staying, shopping event to organise, kids at home for half term, dog walks to do etc.etc

But hey it was a good week! + made the papers.
Best go take the bunting down!

Wow what a week!

Planning and speaking with great companies taking part in Summer Style Lunch & Shopping event.
Meeting with amazing new contact.
Re discovering Saffron Walden ready for fabulous personal shopping days.
Walked into the most amazing wardrobe = Wardrobe envy = contacted wardrobe company = call back want to meet me asap!
Cambridge trip to check out what's about, found another gem to add to my collection of shops to drop in!
Found the un-findable shoes for B the client who inspired me to begin this venture.
Squeezed in a cheeky spray tan & pedicure with Sammie
Had the best reflexology with Georgia to keep me sane.
Set date in diary for pre-loved sale.

Forgot to sort house for weekend of guests and jubilee celebrations!
Better get the duster & bunting out !

This week has been so busy that I have had to start writing lists! Which is a first in my normal multi-tasking - Gemini life.

At the top of my first list (yes I have more than one) was to source interesting companies for the Ladies Summer Lunch & Shopping Event,that I am hosting along with Nicola Clark on Wednesday 27th June. So far so good, a nice amount of fabulous companies have joined up with us.
Have to confess I am looking forward to doing a spot of shopping on the day, maybe treat myself to a bikini from Samantha Sage collection, ready for my holiday!

Second list will follow - sorry I have been called to the garden by the sun !
