Armed Suspect at LA Shopping Center

Earlier this morning, an armed suspect was pursued by the L.A. Police Department. The area where the suspect was being pursued was placed on lockdown. The video details the event. The suspect began circling the parking lot.

Schools and the mall in the area had to be evacuated.

Shopping News and Holidays Deals-12/24/2018

noreply@blogger.com (Sarah Kim) — Tue, 25 Dec 2018 02:25:00 +0000

Hello there,
How y'all doing? Well, it's that time again. The Holidays are already here and, it's crazy out there. But, that's nothing new under the sun, huh? I mean, it's like this every year. We go berserk trying to find those last minute gifts; only to find the stores are packed and full of long lines, tired shoppers and their kids, frustrated store clerks and traffic that's miles long.

The following stories share tips on how to have a happy and safe holiday, as well as some stories of some shopping occurrences; some pleasant and not so pleasant.

Let's get started

Massillon police issue warning after woman robbed while shopping

Fox8Cleveland-MASSILLON, Ohio — Massillon police are issuing a warning on social media after a woman was robbed while shopping.

According to the department’s Facebook post, it happened at Massillon Marketplace around noon on Thursday.

The victim says she was walking to her car when she noticed an older dirty looking man wearing a green and black jacket and hat. He was pretending to look for a cellphone he dropped under her car. When she went over to him to try and help, he grabbed her, took her purse and ran away. She was not hurt.

The purse was later recovered, but the suspect is still missing.

Police encourage shoppers to stay aware of their surroundings. They say reports of thefts, fraud and robberies always increase during the holidays.

The Sun-PANICKED shoppers were left in a flap on Stampede Sunday as they scrambled for last-minute Christmas items - with some fighting over turkeys.

Supermarket customers battled each other over parking spaces and food as they attempted to gobble up as much shopping as they could today.

Atherton police treat kids in need to a holiday shopping spree

It was an experience they could only have dreamed about: Eight local kids were taken on a holiday shopping spree at Target in Redwood City on Dec. 19 to buy gifts for family members, a treat for themselves, and a necessity like a coat or pajamas, thanks to the Atherton Police Department and its nonprofit supporting groups.

It was the department's first-ever “Shop With a Cop” holiday event, intended to provide local students with a positive mentoring experience with police, Atherton Police Chief Steve McCulley explained in a press release.

The eight students live in Menlo Park, East Palo Alto and Redwood City, but attend school in Atherton. They were chosen by their teachers at Las Lomitas, Encinal, and Laurel elementary schools based on need as well as on good academic performance and attendance.

Getting Ready For the Holidays, Hurricane Michael and-More Shopping News and Deals

noreply@blogger.com (Sarah Kim) — Tue, 09 Oct 2018 19:29:00 +0000

Good day everyone,
Hope your Week is going well. We're officially a couple of weeks into Fall/Autumn. Soon, the leaves will be falling from the trees & we'll be preparing for Winter. There's something else many of us are preparing for- The Holidays.

It's that joyous time to spend with family, give thanks and share. It's also a busy time for preparing those holiday meals and shopping. It's also the best time to find great deals.
So, as you can see, there's a lot that'll be going on, in these next few months.

The following article talks about experts' shopping season sales prediction. Here's what they're saying

Holiday shopping: Americans will boost spending 5 percent

More consumers will be feeling jolly this holiday season, pushing up holiday spending by 5 percent to $1,250 each, thanks to a growing economy, according to consulting company PwC.

The biggest spenders this year will include men, high-earning millennials and Amazon Prime members, the study found. On the flip side, several types of consumers said they're likely to cut back this year, including people living in small towns and rural areas.

Read More Here

What about you? Are you planning to spend more or less this holiday? Is the economy really better this year, to allow for "big spending"? Are you expecting "big deals" this year? How will you be getting ready for the holidays? Will you be shopping mostly online or mostly via the traditional "brick and mortar"? Join the conversation! Add your responses below. Would love to hear what you think

Up next- Hurricane Michael
Meteorologists are tracking this storm very closely. They're calling it a "monstrous storm that's taking aim off the coasts of Florida. The Governor of Fla has officially declared a state of emergency and has ordered mandatory evacuations, where over 130,000 people are expected to do soon. Many have already begun. The highways along the coast are backed up and schools have already closed their doors. Many have boarded up their homes and businesses and headed out.

Hurricane Michael has already claimed the lives of 13 people in Central America.(So sorry for the victims and their loved ones). So please, take heed to all alerts and orders from your government officials. Safety first, always!

Info from Weather.com

Hurricane Michael Intensifies to Category 2; May Be Florida Panhandle's Strongest Landfall in 13 Years Wednesday

Hurricane Michael at a glance-Weather.com

Michael is expected to landfall along the Florida Panhandle Gulf Coast Wednesday.
Storm surge, damaging winds and heavy rain are likely impacts along the northeast Gulf Coast.
Hurricane warnings and storm surge warnings have been issued along the Gulf coast of Florida.
Heavy rain and strong winds will spread farther inland across parts of the Southeast after landfall.

The key to weathering a storm is-preparation. You must try to be the safest you can be, and help others to do the same. Below are some tips that can be helpful

Hurricane Preparedness-Be Ready-The National Hurricane Center

Some highlights on how to prepare and take action are available below:

The next website by FEMA (Ready.gov) gives you a step by step guide on what to do during a hurricane timeline- (i.e.what to do when a hurricane is 36 hours out, 18 to 36 hours out, 6 hours out, during and after)
Visit the FEMA Website Here For More Information

One thing you should always do is-stay informed. Charge your cellphones up so you can keep up with what's going on. Also, if you have two-way radios or a portable radio, use those to keep up with local news and announcements and to communicate with loved ones.
Portable lighting is important, in case of power outages.

Be sure to pack needed supplies (a checklist can be found on FEMA's website. Many people have already shopped the stores for hurricane preparation items. If you still need to pick up some items, now would be a good time.

In closing this story on Hurricane Michael, I cannot iterate enough on how safety is a priority.
To all those who are in direct path of this storm, please- be safe!

And now, for more headline shopping news stories:

Underprivileged Fresno kids get school clothes shopping spree-ABC30 Action News

(Here's a fascinating story about giving back)

Dozens of Fresno Unified students got a wardrobe makeover this morning.

The East Fresno Kiwanis picked 75 kids in need for their annual back-to-school shopping event that started at 6:30 a.m.

The River Park Kohl's opened up early just for them, and the kids each got a budget to pick out new clothes.
"About $150 for each kid. We've been doing this for probably 15 years. That's one thing we do with East Fresno Kiwanis," said John Bland of east Fresno Kiwanis.

Looking for a job this holiday season? Live in the Arizona area? This next article may be able to help you out.

These companies are seeking applicants for holiday-season jobs in Arizona

Retailers are expecting a robust holiday-shopping season, with the economy on a solid footing and consumer confidence strong. They're also aware of a tight job market, both nationally and in Arizona.

So it's no wonder many companies already are making pitches to lure more holiday workers. Many have been preparing to boost employment for months. Besides pay, common perks for seasonal workers include discounted merchandise and special shopping days.

"Retailers have been aggressively hiring seasonal workers since July to combat the tight job market," said Andrew Challenger, a vice president at global outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas."Retail, transport and warehousing jobs will be plentiful."

6/17/2018 Shopping News and Deals Enclosed

noreply@blogger.com (Sarah Kim) — Sun, 17 Jun 2018 22:30:00 +0000

Hello, my wonderful fans,
How's your day going? It's a beautiful day here in Southern Virginia. I'm loving it cause, for the next week, we'll finally get some sunshine. It's been raining cats and dogs for the last few weeks.

Last week was very busy. I wanted to get some blog time in, but was a bit disappointed. Today's a "normal" day so ,I thought, hey-this would be the perfect time to update you guys on what's going on in the shopping world, and slip a few deals in, while we're at it.

So, without further ado, let's jump right on in today's shopping news.

Today's Headline News

SEVERAL CARS BROKEN INTO IN BUSY SHOPPING AREA OVERNIGHT

ATLANTA - Police are investigating several car break-ins overnight.

Thieves smashed the windows of four cars parked outside a TGI-Fridays along Camp Creek Parkway in southwest Atlanta Wednesday night.

Thieves took several items including a laptop in a backpack, an Applewatch and sandals. All of the vehicles had damage to the windows or door handles.

The area is a heavily populated shopping and dining area.

It's amazing to me that people are so bold as to do something like this. I also can't believe that they would do something so immoral and horrifying. Stealing is obviously a crime. It also is cruel because, it not only takes material objects from the victim but, it takes away their peace of mind and feeling of security.

I hope there will be some way people will learn not to do these immoral things. I also hope those who have victimized, will find a way to feel safe and have peace of mind again. If any one can cooperate with local law enforcement, you are encouraged to do so. (See the article for more info)

Next up; this article touched my heart-

13-year-old’s shopping spree wish granted

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A 13-year-old girl who is battling a critical illness got the surprise of a lifetime thanks to Make-A-Wish.

Victoria loves shopping, makeup, shoes, and purses. She's also never been outside Memphis.

So her life's wish was to go on a shopping spree in New York City.

When she arrived at Holland Photography studio, she was not expecting her wish to come true.

The studio treated her to her own special photo shoot. When the shoot was over, she got on an airplane and went to New York for a week-long shopping spree!

I literally bursted into tears. It's so nice & refreshing to hear when others do something special for another. I wish this precious little angel all the peace & happiness her little heart can handle. And may the Make-A-Wish foundation be blessed beyond measure for all the joy they bring to others.

And finally, some shopping tips/warnings:

Business Daily-Watch out for fakes on virtual shopping sites

If you thought shopping online guarantees you quality products and fast delivery, think again. Fraudsters are now targeting those buying goods on the move to make a quick buck.

And this is how it works: browsing through various sites provides one with amazing pictures. Then follows an order with the promise of delivery within hours. What you might not know is that sometimes you will receive something very different from what you ordered, in terms of quality.

But this could soon change, with the government planning to crack down on such cheats. The Anti-Counterfeit Agency (ACA) has forwarded proposals to top Industrialisation ministry officials seeking powers to monitor all online shopping sites, where those found selling counterfeits will be blocked.

Seems Like Centuries

noreply@blogger.com (Sarah Kim) — Sat, 02 Jun 2018 05:33:00 +0000

Hey Sarah's Super Center Coupons and Deals Fans;
I know it's been awhile-Seems like centuries. I've been busy as bee; literally.
School, moving, and a few other things.

I'm so excited to get back into the swing of things, back to two of my passions; blogging and shopping! 😊
So, let me dive right in.
Speaking of moving- I found this really cool article. If you're looking to move and possibly relocate, it appears you could find yourself with a cash advance. Check this out!

Vermont will pay you $10,000 to move there and work from home

Ron Thomas | Getty Images

Autumn scene in Vermont

Check out that pic! Isn't it a sight for sore eyes? Such beauty! Makes me want to escape right now. And especially; that $10,000 sounds pretty nice right now.

So, what's the deal?

This past Wednesday, Quartz reports, Vermont Governor Phil Scott passed a bill that would pay people to move to Vermont and work for an employer remotely.
The Remote Worker Grant Program will take effect January 1, 2019 and will cover the cost to move, work & living expenses.

Sounds like a good deal. If you're interested, you can read more details at CNBC

More Shopping News from CNBC

Shopping by text message: Walmart rolls out Jetblack, a members-only service

Walmart is rolling out a new service, through its Store No. 8 incubator, where shoppers can order items over the phone via text message.

Known as Jetblack, the platform has quietly been in beta mode in the New York area. It will now be opened up to more applicants in New York who wish to become members, before expanding to other U.S. markets. The retailer made the announcement Thursday at its annual shareholder meeting in Bentonville, Arkansas.

The start-up is being led by Rent the Runway co-founder Jenny Fleiss, who joined Walmart last year.

Your monthly subscription runs at $50 per month. It's a bit high-cost for my everyday frugal-minded living but, If they would offer an option to purchase without a monthly membership, and pay a one-time fee; on special occasions, I'd definitely bite.

It seems like another one of Walmart's moves to compete against its biggest rival, Amazon.com. Curious to see how it will work out. If you'd like to learn more, check out the full article on CNBC

Well everybody, I'm going to have to call it a night. Its 1AM here & my biological clock has been working overtime. Time to shut it down.
As always, it's been fun. I'll be updating soon, so be sure to check back. Thanks so much for blogging with me. Until next time- Don't let the bad things of the day ruin your hopes for a better tomorrow.

This Week's Shopping News

California Bans Usage of Plastic Grocery Shopping Bags

California's legislature passed a ban on plastic grocery bags over opposition from bag manufacturers.Reuters

A bill banning plastic bags in California grocery stores, pharmacies, liquor stores and other businesses is headed to Gov. Jerry Brown's desk after the state legislature passed the measure Friday.

If signed by Mr. Brown, the bill would institute the first statewide ban on plastic bags in the U.S. A spokesman for the governor said Friday he hasn't taken a position on the issue.

Cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland already have such bans in place, as do most counties in Hawaii. The California ban would prohibit the thin, commonly distributed plastic bags in grocery stores and pharmacies beginning July 1, 2015, and go into effect for convenience and liquor stores on that date a year later. Proponents of the ban say the plastic bags are rarely recycled and commonly littered. The plastic often ends up in the ocean, they say, harming sea life.

How Target Aims To Turn Instragram into Shopping Spree

Target, one of the largest world retailers, has taken on yet another social media venture: Instagram. We all are familiar with social media. We use it for various things, including shopping. Here's an except on Target's new venture:

Source: IBD (Investor's Business Daily)

As Googling an elusive button-down shirt becomes too much work for some shoppers — let alone making the trek to a brick-and-mortar mall — retailers are looking to convert "likes" and "favorites" into actual buys.

Target (NYSE:TGT) on Wednesday adopted Curalate's software Like2Buy for its Target and Target Style Instagram feeds, in the hopes that users will turn a casual scroll into a shopping spree.

Target has 319,000 Instagram followers and Target Style has 375,000, which means nearly 700,000 potential online customers.

Big News: Labor Day Sales May Be Bigger Than Black Friday, This Year
Action News reports that this year, retailers are dishing out the big deals, a bit earlier. Usually, they start around the Thanksgiving/Black Friday Weekend. It appears, retailers are trying to get a head start in preparing for the Holiday Season. And shoppers are really loving it. Watch here:

19 Action News|Cleveland, OH|News, Weather, Sports

I, personally, think this is a great move, because, Black Fridays just have gotten a bit too crazy, for both shoppers and retailers. I'm hoping this will create less chaos, when Black Friday comes around. What do you think? Will this move help deter some of the Black Friday drama that has become the norm? Weigh in! I'd love to hear from you. Post your comments below!

And, now for our Shopping Tip of the Week!

4 Big Money Saving Ideas

Each day it seems like prices, taxes and inflation are going up, while paycheck earnings, raises and bonuses are going down. It seems like it's harder to even stretch your earnings, paycheck to paycheck.

Here are 4 Big Money Saving Ideas I have found that I hope you can use:
Source: About Money on About.com (Excerpts credited to About.com writers, (C) All Rights Reserved)

Groceries-According to a 2013 USA Today article, the average American family of four spends between $149- $289 a week on healthy groceries. Assuming that there are four weeks in a month, families are likely spending anywhere from $600 to almost $1200 a month. This includes just grocery shopping, not family pizza nights out or drive-thru meals that may be spontaneously purchased.
Utilities-According to Pure Energies USA, the average American household spends $163 a month on basic gas and electric utilities, and the number continues to rise.
Clothes Shopping-Clothing shopping can put a big dent in the wallet, particularly when you are buying for four people. The good news is that these days there are sales consistently all year long. The best time to catch a sale is during a holiday weekend or directly following a holiday weekend.
Holiday Giving-The holidays are a very special time of year, especially for young children. However, spending during the holiday times has spiraled out of control. Set some boundaries with your families and friends. Yes, if you have young children, you will want to buy them presents. But does your cousin that lives across the country really need a new picture frame? Or does your great aunt really need a new covered baking dish? If you decide with your family and friends in advance of the holiday season how you want to handle the gift exchange, there is a good chance that other adults will just want to stick with giving the children gifts as well.

I've added some statistics and intros on these 4 Big Money Saving Ideas. Visit the About.com Money article-4 Big Money Saving Ideas, to find out how you can save on these shopping categories.

Well, that's your shopping tip for this week. Please feel free to share your shopping tips with us. You can share them in the comments section below.

Having a Snow Day- Great Time For Coupon and Deal Searching-New Deals Enclosed

noreply@blogger.com (Sarah Kim) — Thu, 30 Jan 2014 12:00:00 +0000

Hey there, Sarah's Super Center Deals And Coupons Fans,

It's another snow day today. (Here's some of pics of what a snow day looks like, in Newport News, VA)

These next first 4 pics are from the early morning, around 6am

And here is what it looks like around 2pm. (The snow has stopped, and walkways have been cleared, but not too much melting taking place :). (Maybe my family and I can build a snowman later, if it's dry enough). Will have to weigh in with our local news, on Wavy 10 :)

Now, Usually, I'm out and about, running errands. But, today, I've had to make a major shift change. All of a sudden, my calendar was changed. I'm finding myself indoors, with no idea what to do.

Then, I got an idea. What a great time to find some coupons and deals.

And here's what I've found: To catch these deals, just click on the links. If you see a coupon code, jot it down to use during checkout

These deals are just in time. This Winter Weather has really taken most of us on a ride; including our cars. While I'm posting automotive deals, I want to share a neat tip that I picked up from our local Wavy 10 News

Wavy 10's Great Tip for Stuck Vehicles: Lots of vehicles are getting stuck in the snow. Here's a way you can get out: (This is for those who get stuck in a pile of snow, not a ditch)

Step 1: First, make sure your car is in the Park position, and remove any snow around the stuck tire
Step 2: Take your car mat: rubbery side, and place it directly in front of the stuck tire
Step 3: Either you or someone else who can drive the vehicle; put car in drive, then press slightly on the accelerator. (Your vehicle should roll out of the stuck position).

Cool huh?

Well, I hope you never have to use this tip; but, just in case, in most cases; it does work. And now, onto the deals

noreply@blogger.com (Sarah Kim) — Sun, 26 Jan 2014 20:02:00 +0000

Hello everyone,
It's Shopping News and Tips time. Sad to have to start out with the following news information. It appears that another mall shooting incident has occurred.

A gunman opened fire with a shot gun in a skate shop at a crowded shopping mall near Baltimore, killing two store employees and wounding another person, then apparently killing himself.

Howard County police said they did not know the motive for the shooting at the large mall in Columbia, Maryland, 32 km west of Baltimore.

FBI warns retailers to expect more credit card breaches-Source: ChicagoTribune.com

Since the Target breach incident that affected at least 70 million customers, and possibly up to 120 million, there has been more concern about the possibility of more breaches. South Korea did report, shortly after Target's incident, that a department store's credit card processing system had also been hacked into.

Now the FBI is warning that there may be more imminent attacks . Here's an excerpt from ChicagoTribune.com

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The FBI has warned U.S. retailers to prepare for more cyber attacks after discovering about 20 hacking cases in the past year that involved the same kind of malicious software used against Target Corp in the holiday shopping season.

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation distributed a confidential, three-page report to retail companies last week describing the risks posed by "memory-parsing" malware that infects point-of-sale (POS) systems, which include cash registers and credit-card swiping machines found in store checkout aisles.
"We believe POS malware crime will continue to grow over the near term, despite law enforcement and security firms' actions to mitigate it," said the FBI report, seen by Reuters.

This Week's Latest Shopping News and Tips-12/29/2013

noreply@blogger.com (Sarah Kim) — Sun, 29 Dec 2013 16:45:00 +0000

Good Morning everyone,
It's that time again; time for this week's latest shopping news and tips. This holiday season was hit with a few kinks; from bad storms and weather, to UPS shipping delays, which put a damper on gift delivery being on-time.

Still, shoppers are at it again. Post-holiday sales and returns are up.

Shoppers at the Westfield Topanga mall, Thursday, December 26, 2013. Michael Owen Baker — Staff photographer- Los Angeles Daily News

Stores are using deep discounts and extending their hours to get shoppers back into the stores. I have to tell you, actually; the post-holiday deals are better than the pre-holiday ones. Why? Because, the retailers are trying to clear their stock for the next year. They will offer anywhere from 50 to 75% off, in some cases.
Many people say that they shop after the holidays, just for this reason.

Here's some interesting headlines on Post-Holiday Shopping.

Last-Minute Holiday Shopping Strategies for Procrastinators- Source: ABC News

Sometimes it's hard to get everything on your list of things-to-do, done. And the holidays seem to be one of those definite times. If you've jumped on the procrastination train; whether by choice, or not, you can still meet the deadline. Here's some tips you can follow.

Target Customers Seeing Red Over Store’s Credit Card Response- Source: ABC News

Maybe you've heard? Target Department Store was hit by hackers, last week; stealing over 40 million debit/credit card accounts from Target's Customers. Target did respond to customers, but many were not happy at all.

Tip: Always safeguard your credit card information. Do not discard your receipts, and statements. If you don't wish to keep them, throw them away at home; and perhaps, even run them through the shredder.

Debit Cards: Do not share your pin with anyone except those whom need to have it; a well-trusted and close family member or spouse. When making purchases at a point-of-sale terminal, (in-store cash register), do not allow anyone to see your pin. Be discreet. Enter your pin with your opposite hand covering terminal, or turn terminal so you are the only one facing it.(People could be lurking around, watching you, and following you, just to get your information.)

More Security: Have you ever heard of an Electronic Security Wallet Protector? You may not know the latest hacking techniques, but, hackers and credit card thieves are finding more and more unique ways to commit identity theft, and steal your information. Apparently, they can use an RFID scanner to scan your credit card information; now, as long as you are in proximity of a satellite tower. They can, then use your information, without even needing the physical card.
There are security measures you can take.

I recommend the following products. Just click on the image links, to get this deal(s)

Credit Monitoring-It may also be a good idea to check your credit reports for suspicious activity. You can use any of the Credit Monitoring Services: Equifax, Experian ,TransUnion,Freecreditscore.com
Small Businesses:
Get Equifax Business Credit Monitoring Now!

On an immediate and low-scale level, check your credit card/bank statements. If you have online banking, you can log into your accounts, daily, and check your accounts. You can also setup mobile/email alerts, that will alert you of any real-time account changes. (Just check with your bank, on how to go about setting up these free services).
If you notice anything unusual about your accounts; unexpected charges/withdrawals, and even deposits, contact your bank's fraud department immediately. (I believe this department is open 24/7)

Internet Security-As always, it is suggested that you do not leave your computer unprotected. Hackers and thieves are just waiting to access your information. I have provided a list of Internet Security Products for you to choose from.

If you already have Internet Security, be sure that your program is up-to-date; automatic and real-time scanning is recommended, as well as scheduling scans on a weekly basis.

Last, but not least:

Beyonce Makes Surprise Walmart Visit & Buys Everyone in the Store a $50 Walmart Gift Card-Source:NewsOne.com

NewsOne.com Image

This past weekend, renowned singer/song-writer/actress, Beyonce, made a surprise visit to Walmart. She started her holiday shopping early, and surprised everyone in the store with $50 gift cards; totaling over $37,000. (You can only imagine the excitement from fans and shoppers, that day.)

Well, everyone; that's it for this edition. Tune in next week for the latest. Wishing you all Happy Holidays, from Sarah's Super Center.

Until next week, take care!

Traditional Black Friday or Black Friday Online?

noreply@blogger.com (Sarah Kim) — Thu, 22 Nov 2012 17:20:00 +0000

As you may know by now, this Friday is "Black Friday". Black Friday is the name given to the day after the American holiday, Thanksgiving. This day kicks off the shopping holiday season. Black Friday was first introduced in 1961, and has been a tradition ever since.

Basically, it is a key time for retailers, as they have the opportunity to give you what you are looking for, at super-discounted prices, while boosting their sales and profitability. This helps make the economy go around.

Traditionally, stores would open as early as 6am, then later, 4am, and now as early as midnight. This year, Walmart plans to outrun its competition, by opening at 8pm on Thanksgiving evening.

What has also become a tradition is: the Traditional Cyber Monday, the day that's included in the Black Friday sales event, but takes place online. Black Friday was once an in-store sales event, while Cyber Monday took place online. Today, that has changed. Black Friday has become infamous for its online blow-out deals. And it seems that the online sales event is taking over as a preference for Black Friday shoppers. But why?

In the recent years, Black Friday, has become a time of great turmoil, and even grave danger. Time and time again, we have heard how countless amounts of people have been badly hurt, or tragically, killed during these sales events. In these headlines, you can see that Black Friday has taken on a new feel for customers; where the event is supposed to take the retailers out of the red, and move their sales back into the Black, thus, it has become a "black" or "dark" Friday for everyone involved.

Black Friday Turns Deadly; Hundreds Left Unconscious, Injured and Trampled [Graphic VIDEOS]-Ibtimes.com

This video was recorded at a Walmart SuperStore, at last year's Black Friday event, (2011)

Walmart still battling Black Friday trampling fine from 2008-BostonGlobe.com

In 2008, a Walmart associate was trampled to death, during a Black Friday event, in a Walmart Store. OSHA allegedly fined the mega retailer, $7,000, in a claim that Walmart did not do enough to control the crowds. According to the findings in this article, the case is still pending.

Did you hear? In addition, a pregnant woman was trampled upon, and suffered a miscarriage. And three others were injured on that day.

Here's another article on the same matter by USAToday.com, from back in 2010

Walmart fights $7,000 fine in Black Friday death-USAToday.com

In the article, Walmart made a statement that it would gather a committee to work on better safety. Don't quote me on this, but I believe this is another reason the store has decided to beat the crowds on Friday. I believe this is a way for them to better handle the rush, if people can get to the deals, before the streets and stores become crowded with people. So opening on 8pm on Thanksgiving is not just to get more sales than the competition. It's about safety.

And if death isn't tragic enough, how about feeling like you are dead? This next video talks about the women who would do anything to get an Xbox360 at 50% off. Can someone say, "That's my Xbox... mine, mine, mine." This is exactly how childish this women acted this day. Take a look.

Pepper spray? Really? And she even sprayed little children. Now, did you hear the Fox News reporter state that she's not going to get away with this? Well, actually, she did. The police eventually found her, but she was not charged. They concluded that there was just not enough evidence to prosecute.

No Felony Charges for LA Walmart Pepper Sprayer-Yahoo News

This Black Friday, shoppers are expressing their concerns. Worried Walmart shoppers in Porter Ranch met with officials Tuesday to make sure Black Friday runs without a "stich" this year. KCAL9's Kristine Lazar reports.

Yahoo News reports that shoppers met with Walmart officials on Tuesday, to find out what the megastore is doing this year to assure their security.

View the video report here:

Despite all this "bad and tragic news", many people still love the Traditional feel of Black Friday.

So, what do you think? Traditional Black Friday or Black Friday Online?

Will you be staying home this Black Friday, or will you "brave it out", and head to the stores? I would love to hear your take on all of this. Feel free to add your comments below.

Whatever you decide to do, remember, safety is the most important part of this day. Nothing in these stores are worth harming another over, or losing your life over.

Happy and Safe Black Friday Shopping Day to you!
