Hello my beauty lovers,

I really love this time of year as it is starting to feel really christmassy and its also nearly my birthday! Yaaaayyy!! I hope you're all getting into the christmassy spirit too.

So I was lucky enough to stumble on this lovely set by Ted Baker called the Ted Baker London The Girl With The Beautiful Face Make Up Kit. This set is incredibly beautiful - from the packaging to the products inside - you will adore it. With most sets I never tend to use all the products, I mostly like a few and then the others always go to waste, however with this kit all of the products are colours and shades that I would definitely wear which is amazing and shows how great this kit is.

So it comes in a box which has a lid to open the top half and then a drawer to open the bottom half, which makes a lovely looking storage box for some of my make up and it looks very pretty on my dressing table too.

The set includes -

2 x nail varnish
2 x eye crayons
Lipstick
Lip crayon
Eyeliner pen
Mascara
Bronzing compact
2 x illuminating liquids
Eyelash curlers
Kabuki brush (which is actually more like a bronzer brush rather than a kabuki brush)

The two nail polishes are both gorgeous colours one is a bright coral colour and the other is a metallic silver. What I love about both of these shades is that they work all year round - they'll look perfect over the christmas season but they'll look just as nice in summer too. They are both really easy to apply and I applied two coats in both of the colours. As always with metallic nail polish you need to smooth out the polish or else it will clump so with the silver nail polish apply a little amount first and then build up the colour with more coats rather than applying loads on the first coat. The coral lasted slightly longer on my nails than the silver it started chipping after the fourth day without a top coat so if you apply a top coat they will last longer. The silver started to chip after the third day without a top coat too so apply a top coat to get longer wear.

I absolutely love the colours of the eye crayons! One is a dark gunmetal grey and the other is a soft golden colour. They are super easy to apply and I love how easy they are to blend. I definitely prefer the grey colour as it is really pigmented and I would personally prefer if the gold was slightly more pigmented. They are both colours I would use on a day to day basis so I'm really excited to play around with these colours to create some fun looks!

There are two lip products in the set - one is a lipstick and the other is a lip crayon. The lipstick is a bright red colour which I think is simply gorgeous and is the perfect red shade for me. The lip crayon is just as beautiful and comes in a red berry colour which is perfect for this season as this lip colour seems to be everywhere. Both the lipstick and crayon last quite a while as I didn't need to reapply them even after I had eaten so they are really long wearing. They are also both really pigmented so you don't need to build up the colour unless you want a more intense look. I will definitely be wearing both of these colours over the Christmas holiday season.

The eyeliner pen is surprisingly really good. It has a felt tip end which makes it really easy to use and apply so if you're not to good at applying eyeliner than this brush is a great one to practice with as it gives you a really easy application in a few strokes. I really like the colour of the eyeliner as its a really dark black colour as I love the blackest eyeliners you can get and this seems to be quite close. It dries to a shiny finish but I found when I applied over eyeshadow it tended to dry to more of a matte finish. I much preferred using this eyeliner alone rather than over eyeshadow as it tended to clump when I applied it over shadow which is the only negative thing about it.

I am a bit of a mascara snob and I only really ever use Lancome mascaras as they are my all time favourites!! However I did surprisingly really like the mascara that comes in this set. I loved the brush as it is a thin brush head with loads of the plastic bristles which gives your lashes a great lift when applying mascara so that adds extra volume to your lashes. This mascara did add volume and length to my lashes and didn't clump at all which I loved but I won't be changing mascara anytime soon!! This is a great back up though and is perfect for the lower lashes.

The bronzing compact is probably my least favourite product in the whole set as its not pigmented enough for me. Its more like a highlighter than a bronzer but its too dark to be a highlighter and too light to be a bronzer so its just stuck in the middle. I think if you have a fair complexion than it definitely would work better for you as it is really lovely to apply and it feels really light and soft on the skin but its just the colour that doesn't work for me personally.

The kabuki brush which is more like a bronzer brush rather than a kabuki brush is actually a really good brush as long as you don't think of it as a kabuki haha. I used it to apply the bronzer and it glided over my skin leaving a really nice flawless finish. The only thing I didn't like about this brush is that some of the bristles were falling out when I was using it.

The two illuminating liquids are really gorgeous. They have a strikingly similar resemblance to the benefit highbeam and sunbeam highlighters. The silvery pink one is called pearly pink and the golden one is called golden glow. I prefer powder or cream highlighters rather than liquid ones but these seemed to work really well, they blended into my foundation easily and they blended just as well when I applied them before foundation. They can be worn with or without make up as they look really pretty mixed into a daily face moisturiser to give your skin an extra glow. I prefer the pearly pink one as it seems to be more pigmented then golden glow one and I LOVE highlighters so the more pigmented the better.

Last are the gorgeous rose gold eyelash curlers which look stunning on my dressing table! I always stick to my Shu Uemura eyelash curlers so I am quite resistant to try any other curlers as they are INCREDIBLE but the ted baker curlers in this set were really good as an alternative. They curled my eyelashes really well and didn't pull any of my eyelashes out which is always a good thing! I think I would use these curlers as my handbag curlers so I've always got a back up on me.

I really love this make up set and I think it is such good value for money considering all the products you get inside it.

You can buy it from boots here for £40 but I actually got it for £20 on promotion which makes it even more of a bargain so definitely look out for it in any of the promotions as I think it is definitely worth a buy or it would even make an amazing christmas gift for a loved one.

Todays product of the week is the Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips.

It is basically a better version of Vaseline which means it is a beauty staple for all you beauty lovers out there!

This balm can be used on literally every part of your body but I have only ever used it for my lips and it works AMAZINGLY on my lips so I can imagine it will work just as well on any part of your body! It works great as a nourishing lip balm which is what I mainly use this for but its also just as great over a lipstick to add a gloss effect or even over eyelids for a shimmery look.

I tend to put it on before I go to sleep so my lips are nice and moisturised ready for the morning or I will apply it in the morning after I have moisturised so my lips are nice and soft before I apply any lipstick.

What I love even more about this product is that it is 100% natural and doesn't contain any parabens, alcohol, colouring agents or perfume so it is perfect if you have sensitive skin or if you just like to keep it au naturale!

It is also such a perfect size that you can carry it around with you in your handbag or just leave it in your make up bag as it doesn't take up any room - and with its easy screw cap you can just squeeze a tiny amount out and apply it to your lips etc and then you're good to go!

I really love how when you apply it it doesn't leave a sticky residue but it just leaves your lips feeling super moisturised and within minutes it dries leaving them even softer. The consistency of the balm is a slightly thicker version of Vaseline but it is kind of stickier than Vaseline but this stickiness goes instantly!

This balm is a definite must have in my opinion as it is just so versatile and you will always have a need for it - whether you need an intense moisturiser or if you just need to make you're make up look more shimmery this is just what you need!

Pink Lips and Smokey Eye - Make Up Tutorial ♡

Hello beauty lovers ♡

So today I am going to be telling you how I got this seriously bright pink lip and grey/brown smokey eye look. This look is definitely a night time look as I think it's a tad too heavy for the day but you could always mix the lip with a more natural eye for a daytime look.

So lets go ......

1. Always moisturise your skin - leave to dry

2. Prep your skin using a primer - very important for a long lasting flawless finish

3. Apply your foundation using Real Techniques Stippling Brush

4. Contour around hairline, down the bridge of your nose, along your jawline and beneath your cheekbones

5. Highlight above your cheekbones, under eyes, above upper and lower lip, along and in-between the contour on your nose and in-between brows

6. Blend all contour together using the Beauty Blender

7. Brush out brows using a brow brush then apply pencil or gel to brows. Brush out again for a natural look

8. Apply Busted all over lid, then using Snakebite blend into crease working the way to the outer corners

9. Apply HalfBaked in the inner corner and tear duct

10. Blend all together focusing on the crease using the Real Techniques Shading Brush

11. Using Busted line underneath lower lashes

12. Apply liquid eyeliner along the upper lash line gently winging outwards at the outer corner

13. Line inside your waterline working your way along the tear duct

14. Curl eyelashes and apply mascara

15. Apply false eyelashes - Optional

16. Line lips and then apply lipstick and a touch of lipgloss for extra glamour

17. Apply blusher on the apples of your cheeks using the Real Techniques Blush Brush

18. Apply highlight over cheekbones

Yayyy the look is complete!

Autumn/Fall Make Up Tutorial ♡

Hello beauty lovers ♡

I hope you're all enjoying the start of Autumn!

So I finally have Instagram and I honestly don't know how I have gone all this time without it?! There are sooooo many amazingly talented MUA's that I have discovered since joining the Instagram world and I love it!

One of the talented MUA's I discovered was the self taught +MakeupByAzzah who inspired me to create this Autumn/Fall make up look.

So lets begin....

Skin/Face

To start off you need to prep your skin with a moisturiser, once it has dried apply your primer to allow your make up to last longer and to make it look more flawless - I always prime my skin! I then applied my foundation using the Real Techniques stippli ng brush to get rid of any lines I then used my Beauty Blender to blend away any harsh foundation lines. I did a light contour using the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick applying it to the hollows of my cheeks, along the sides of my nose and along my hairline. Then using Mac Pro Longwear Concealer I highlighted under my eyes, between my eyebrows and lower forehead, down my nose and under my chin. Using the Real Techniques stippli ng brush again blend all the contour and highlight together. Then go over with a Beauty Blender to thoroughly blend all the product together. I then applied blusher on the apples of my cheeks using the Real Techniques Blush Brush and finally to finish off my skin I applied a highlighter on my cheekbones and on the top of my cupids bow using Mac Duo Fibre 187 Brush

Eyes

I mainly used the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette for this look so start off by applying a natural base colour (I used Tease) all over your eyelid using the fluffy side of the brush that comes with the palette. Then apply a darker colour over the lower eyelid (I used Roach not in the palette) using an eyeshadow flat brush and gradually build the colour up until you get your desired colour. Using Snakebite blend into your crease gradually working it out to the outer corner of the eye. Using half-baked line the upper lash line and lower lash line and the tear duct for a pop of colour and to open up the eyes. To highlight underneath the eyebrows use Bootycall. Then line your upper lash line with a liquid liner. Curl your eyelashes and apply loads of mascara! If you like you can add eyeliner to your waterline however I left mine natural and just applied mascara on my lower lashes.

Lips

I applied a lip liner all over my lips as a lipstick.

Make Up Review - Lancome Virtuose Mascara ♡

Today I am reviewing another one of my favourite products that I can't live without - it is the Lancome Virtuose Mascara.

I loveeee mascara I think mascara is definitely a make up item that you can't leave the house without! Mascara makes such a huge difference to everyone - whether you're wearing a full face of make up - a mascara will complete the look or whether you're wearing no make up - a mascara will just widen your eyes making you look so much more fresh faced!

So no matter what a mascara is a definite MUST.

I personally don't wear false eyelashes as I really don't like the way they look on me however I adore how they look on pretty much everyone else?! So its always been really important that I have a mascara that makes my eyelashes look really full and long.

I have spent many years looking for that one mascara trying and testing so many from drugstore ones to the high end ones and after vigorous searching I finally found the one around two years ago and I have never looked back since!!

The mascara that I found was the Lancome L'extreme mascara - WOW it honestly is the best mascara I have ever bought! Whenever I wear it I will always get complimented and people often mistake my eyelashes as being false when I wear it! So after this one I was hooked and as I loved it so much I started trying out other Lancome mascaras, however nothing really came close until I found this little gem! Typically my normal mascara was sold out and as I was in desperate need I just picked up the Virtuose one as I liked the look of the curved brush - what a great choice that was!!

This mascara is AMAZEEEEE honestly I love it and I am now torn between L'extreme and Virtuose as they are both so good!!

First of all the curved brush is just perfect - it really lifts your eyelashes giving you that extra volume and length as well as giving you a natural curl without the need of an eyelash curler!

I love the formula as its super dark and doesn't clump or flake at all so you only need a couple of coats!!

This mascara in my opinion just ticks all the boxes and I would really recommend this mascara as it is just too good not to have.....

Product Of The Week - MAC VELVET TEDDY ♡

I hope you're all enjoying the lovely sunshine that has come from nowhere?!

So I am going to do a weekly feature on a different product that I am loving every week aptly titled PRODUCT OF THE WEEK - so this week I am going to review one of my favourite products at the moment which is one of MAC's lipsticks called Velvet Teddy.

With just one coat of Velvet Teddy in natural light

Now if you love Mac lipstick and have a collection of a few then this will definitely be in it -

if its not then it needs to be as this is a staple lipstick that everyone needs!

Here I applied a few coats with flash

This lipstick is just gorgeous! It has a perfect matte finish so you can wear it alone or add a slick of lipgloss over it to add some extra lustre! It is the perfect nude/beige colour which is amazing for a daytime look or you can intensify it by adding a gloss or even just applying more for the perfect evening look!

It also lasts foreeeever on my lips! I applied it in the morning then by late afternoon it was still on my lips - of course it wasn't as intense but you could still see I was wearing lipstick!

For those of you who are loving Kylie Jenners lipstick at the moment you need to get your hands on Velvet Teddy as this is definitely an amazing copy of what she has been wearing lately if not the exact colour!

VICTORIA'S SECRETS - SEXY LITTLE THINGS NOIR EAU DE PARFUM ♡

Hello everyone ♡

Today I am reviewing Victoria's Secrets SEXY LITTLE THINGS NOIR EAU DE PARFUM.

I picked up this gorgeous bottle in the Victoria's Secrets shop in Manchester on one of my shopping trips to the Trafford Centre and I was immediately drawn to this perfume because the bottle is just gorgeous!!

I really love the shape of the bottle and I adore the perfume pump that comes with it. There is also a separate twist on cap if you prefer to use that rather than the pump. I personally just leave the pump on but sometimes you need to spray more when using the pump as it comes out as a lighter spray but when you use the normal cap the spray seems to be heavier.

I just love the scent of this perfume!! It is such a light fruity fragrance which is perfect for day and night - I spray a couple of extra squirts for when I wear it in the evenings just to get a slightly stronger fragrance!

What's also great about this perfume is that it really lasts all day - I do tend to spray A LOT of perfume generally but you can get away with a few squirts of this perfume and it really goes a long way.

If I was to describe the scent of this perfume I would definitely say it has a warm tone with fruity hints of red berries and citrus but it also has a hint of musk which adds to the warmth of the fragrance without masking the fruitiness!

This is a definite must for all you perfume lovers as its such a versatile and light perfume - perfect for any occasion!!

LOVELY DAY IN PORTMEIRION ♡

Hello lovelies ♡

A couple of weeks ago my family and I went on a day trip to Portmeirion - Portmeirion is a beautiful little village in North Wales on the coast near Porthmadog. For those of you who don't know North Wales very well if you're looking on a map its the tiny sticking out bit underneath Angelsey... hope that helps :/

Portmeirion is absolutely beautiful!! It's filled with tiny little buildings like coffee shops and art galleries in loads of different colours making it look so unique and bright and it has the most stunning gardens!

It was such a beautiful sunny day so of course everything looked even more magical there but you honestly feel like you're in a different little world when you're exploring all the tiny little paths!

There's so much to see and do there other than exploring the little village and gardens, you can go and relax on the beach or do one of the many walking trails!

We started the day off by heading to get some lunch in one of the cute cafes called Caffi Glas the food was delicious! After a quick bite to eat we then made our way around the beautiful gardens - they looked stunning especially as it was so hot everything looked so luscious and green!

After working up another appetite from all the exploring we had a little ice-cream break in one of the ice-cream parlours called Caffi'r Angel Ice. The ice-cream was delicious and they had so many tasty flavours to choose from - the only downside was that they had ran out of sprinkles :( so I just had my favourite chocolate ice-cream without the sprinkles!

We then went for a walk along the coast which was amazing as the day was so sunny the sea looked so blue and clear - it really felt like we were in the Mediterranean?!

On one of the trails we came across a little tree filled with different types of coins - it was a wishing tree so you had to place a coin into the bark and make a wish!

Whilst we explored all the hidden places in the gardens there was one hidden gem which was a sort of underground shelter with walls made out of huge shells!! It was so magical it felt like something from the little mermaid!

It was such a lovely day enjoying the beautiful village of Portmeirion and all its hidden treasures but more importantly it was so lovely spending quality time with all my family. Life gets so busy so it is so important to make time for the people that are important - especially your family!

THE BODY SHOP VITAMIN E AQUA BOOST SORBET ♡

Hello Everyone ♡

Today I am reviewing The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet. First things first if you follow my blog you know I absolutely adore the body shop so of course I was delighted when they released the vitamin E moisturiser in a sorbet as I personally prefer the feeling of a gel moisturiser to the normal standard lotion!

So the VITAMIN E AQUA BOOST SORBET is a daily face moisturiser which you should apply to your face and neck as part of your morning skincare routine.

What the body shop has to say about the new VITAMIN E AQUA BOOST SORBET.........

'An instant cooling sensation for all day hydration. This silky-soft moisturiser hydrates and refreshes skin with an ultra-light light formula.

Feels like a burst of freshness on skin
Quenches skin’s thirst
Enriched with wheatgerm oil'

I could't agree more in that it definitely is ultra-light on your skin and has a cooling sensation when applied to the skin which does feel very refreshing however that feeling didn't last very long for me, and after the sorbet absorbed into my skin my face actually felt quite dry and not moisturised.

Also I didn't think the sorbet absorbed that well into my skin as some of the sorbet flaked off my skin even after thoroughly massaging the sorbet into my skin.

If you're like me and like your skin feeling dewy then this is definitely not for you - however if you have oily skin and like a moisturiser that dries then this is one to try.

What I also didn't like about the sorbet is that when I applied my make up the sorbet would flake creating a flaky finish to my foundation which isn't a good look..

If I'm being honest I was actually quite disappointed with this product as I had high hopes for it being my go to daily moisturiser but sadly with all the flaking it just wasn't meant to be :(

If you're like me and like your skin feeling dewy then this is definitely not for you - however if you have oily skin and like a moisturiser that dries then this is one to try.

What I also didn't like about the sorbet is that when I applied my make up the sorbet would flake creating a flaky finish to my foundation which isn't a good look..

If I'm being honest I was actually quite disappointed with this product as I had high hopes for it being my go to daily moisturiser but sadly with all the flaking it just wasn't meant to be :(

THE PROS

- Feels super light weight on your skin

- Dries instantly once absorbed into skin

- When applying onto face it does feel nice and refreshing

THE CONS

- You have to really work to get all of the sorbet absorbed into your skin

- Isn't that great under make up as the sorbet tends to flake off even after thorough massaging into my face?!

- Dried my skin after a couple of minutes leaving my skin feeling dry rather than moisturised

For now I will stick to the original Vitamin E Moisture Cream as I personally prefer it to the sorbet!

My Nail Polish Diary by Nails Inc. Review ♡

I received a lovely gift from my future mother in law quite a while ago but didn’t get round to trying it out until recently and I thought it would be a really nice product to do a little blog about – My Nail Polish Diary by Nails Inc.

Firstly I don’t normally tend to wear nail polish as I normally have shellac on my nails so I don’t buy tons of nail polish but when I do I love painting my nails and experimenting with all the different colours, as I normally stick to similar colours when I get my nails done… normally pink.

So the first thing that we must talk about is how gorgeous the packaging is for the nail polish. I love this little box!! The silver glitter is really glamorous yet subtle and the best thing is that the glitter doesn’t flake off which can happen with exposed glitter products. The box seems really strong and of course is lovely to look at so you could definitely use the box for storage etc. There is also a little clasp which closes the lid of the box which makes the box even more practical when carrying the nail polishes around – you won’t have to worry that the polish will accidentally run away!

The only downfall with the packaging is inside the nail polishes are placed in a plastic tray to keep them secure. The plastic can sometimes be quite tricky to pop the nail polishes out so I suggest taking the plastic tray out and then popping the nail polishes out from underneath rather than trying to pull them out.

Now to the actual nail polish….

There are twelve 10ml nail polishes – a colour for every month and a variety of different colours too so all you nail polish lovers will be delighted with the choice of colours!

Nails Inc have said that they ‘hand picked the perfect shades to ensure your nails are looking on trend and fabulous, every month of the year’.

So now for a breakdown of the nail polish colours…

Left - Right BELGRAVIA PLACE, CHESTER, ELECTRIC LANE, FULHAM PALACE GARDENS, KNIGHTSBRIDGE ROAD

Left - Right FLEET STREET, SOUTH KENSINGTON, ST MARTIN’S LANE, SLOANE AVENUE, BAKER STREET, NOTTING HILL GATE

JANUARY – KENSINGTON CAVIAR

This nail polish is the only clear topcoat in the set and is Nails Inc ‘best selling 45 second dry top coat with wet look finish.’ Firstly this top coat for me isn’t my fav as it took longer than 45 seconds to dry - it was closer to 3 minutes – I possibly put a thicker layer on but I didn’t put that much on for it to make such a difference. I also didn’t really get a ‘wet look finish’ on most of the nail polishes that already had a wet look finish then yes it worked but on the more matte colours it did not work at all. The positive thing that I did find with this topcoat is that it does make the polish last longer especially with the different effect polishes. Without the topcoat the polish on average lasted two-three days without chipping, with the top coat it lasted closer to four days.

FEBRUARY – ST MARTIN’S LANE

This is such a gorgeous colour! It reminds me of Vimto! It is such a deep purple, blackcurrant type of colour and in some light it actually verges on black. A perfect shade for the wintery months and perfect for February! It is a really nice glossy colour too which doesn’t fade once dry. In my opinion it is probably the glossiest colour in the set.

MARCH – BAKER STREET

This stunning cobalt blue is perfect for both summer and winter and I’ve got a feeling this cobalt blue is here to stay! The colour actually looks glossy in the bottle but once applied it looks more matte than glossy. I actually loved this as you can always make it glossy by applying a topcoat!

A great colour and a must have in any nail polish collection!

APRIL – SLOANE AVENUE

You either love it or hate and I LOVE IT! This summery neon coral shade is perfect for the summer months and will look amazing for all those summer festivals! This has to be my favourite shade in the whole set as I love neon nail polish and my go to nail polish colour is pinky coral colours so to have them combined is a definite winner for me!

This has a similar finish to BAKER STREET as it looks glossy in the bottle but once applied dries to more of a matte finish. The downfall with this polish is that it started chipping after the second day and with the caviar top coat on day three.

MAY – FULHAM PALACE GARDENS

Warning this is not edible – but omg it looks so good! This colour reminds me of when I was a little girl and I used to decorate cupcakes with pink icing sugar and then just pile all the sprinkles in a big mess on top which actually always somehow ended up looking pretty good! This colour is such a fun girlie colour that I love! The base colour is a sort of bubblegum pink and then there is a mixture of small and big pieces of glitter in a variety of pastel colours.

This definitely needs at least two coats but I actually used three to get my desired effect. The only downfall with this colour like many of the other glittery type polishes is that it doesn’t tend to last very long. It started chipping on the second day and on the third with the caviar topcoat. It does last weeks on toes though which is always good for those summer pedicures.

JUNE – CHESTER

This is such a fun summery feather effect nail polish! The feather effect really does resemble feathers and the pastel colours of blue, yellow and peach remind me of a beautiful exotic bird - a perfect shade for the summer.

I got so many compliments when I wore this shade! This shade surprisingly lasted quite long too around four days without any topcoat but I did apply three coats to get the effect I wanted. Perfect pedicure colour too which lasted weeks on my tootsies!

JULY – NOTTING HILL GATE

This is another one of Nails Inc best selling shades and of course I can see why! This neon hot pink is sexy and super summery and of course I LOVE IT!

I definitely think you need at least two coats of this polish to get a brighter effect and I personally wouldn’t call it a neon colour, as I don’t think it’s as bright as other neon pinks that I own. This too is similar to BAKER STREET and SLOANE AVENUE as it appears glossy in the bottle but dries more matte, however this does dry to a glossier finish than the other two.

An absolute perfect shade for those summer holidays on both hands and feet!

AUGUST – FLEET STREET

This new leather effect polish in nude is a great little addition to the collection and I really do like both the colour and finish! This polish goes on glossy but dries to a matte leather effect. I constantly stroke my nails when I wear this polish as I love the feeling of the leather effect. It is advised not too wear a topcoat with this polish as it will take away the leather effect but if you like the colour but are not too keen on the leather than apply JANUARY - CAVIAR for a glossier finish. This is a really great everyday polish and it lasted around four days before chipping which is always good!

SEPTEMBER – ELECTRIC LANE

This glittery special effects holographic topcoat is perfect worn alone or adding as a topcoat to jazz up another polish. I prefer this polish worn alone as I love the tiny glitter particles – I always prefer smaller glitter especially in nail polish. The glitter is a silvery colour but in certain light a rainbow of colours emerge from the glitter! A perfect colour for both summer and winter! When I wear it as a base coat I tend to apply three coats just to achieve a full coverage.

OCTOBER – BELGRAVIA PLACE

Another effect polish but this time we have a fibre optic effect polish! The tiny pieces of glitter are similar to the ones that we have already seen in CHESTER but in this fibre optic polish the colours are red and silver creating a more wintery even Christmassy feel. This too can be worn alone or as a topcoat to create an even more eye catching polish effect. I personally prefer this colour as a base coat and I applied three coats to achieve my desired effect. This polish looks gorgeous as a pedicure and lasts forever, it does look just as nice on hands but doesn’t last very long – for me it started chipping after day two…. Still an absolute gorgeous colour perfect for the party season!

NOVEMBER – SOUTH KENSINGTON

This gorgeous foil effect silver polish is perfect for those Christmas parties! I personally am not really a fan of metallic polishes but I actually really love this one! When applying the polish it goes on quite streaky but somehow dries leaving a perfect streak free finish! If you love metallic than you will love this shade as it has a real flawless finish to it that I love! This shade also looks great as a pedicure for summer!

DECEMBER – KNIGHTSBRIDGE ROAD

An apt name for such a glamorous polish which really does reflect the festive and party season with all its glitter! This new gold galaxy effect polish is truly a party in a bottle! The golden glitter base colour is accentuated perfectly by the mixture of big and small glitter particles in rich Christmassy shades – from the emerald green, the ruby red and sapphire blue this polish is the epitome of a party polish! The best bit is that it doesn’t even chip straight away and lasted at least three days. I applied three coats to emphasise the rich colours of all the glitter! An absolute winner!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone ♡

I know I have been AWOL but I am back! I have been crazy busy with work etc. and unfortunately I have not had time to blog but I am going to seriously really try to keep up to date from now on.

Anyway … on a more positive note its Valentine's Day yaaaayyyy!!

I know that people have really mixed opinions regarding Valentine's Day but I have always loved it, even when I was single there was something about Valentine's Day that I loved - probably all the pink haha!

But this Valentine's Day is extra special as its the first Valentine's Day I have spent being engaged!

To be honest we haven't really done anything different for our Valentine's Day being engaged it just feels different if that makes sense - it's filled with even more love and chocolate haha!

For the 5th of December I will be reviewing -

BALANCE ME SUPER TONING BODY WASH

I love Balance Me products! I have only ever used the moisturisers before so I was happy to find a body wash in my advent calendar. I love to try out new shower gels and body wash so this was perfect!

The packaging is really cute – the design is red and white which is clean and simple and it’s the standard plastic tube with the screw lid.

The smell of the body wash is fresh and clean – really spa like! The only thing that I didn’t like about the smell is that I personally don’t think it’s strong enough for a body wash but that’s just me!

I love how once you lather the body wash it builds up quite a generous amount of foam, which I love and its perfect to use for shaving!

This body wash really leaves your skin feeling softer and smoother and I think you could actually go without moisturising if you were in a rush or if you don’t like moisturising after a shower than this could be the perfect body wash for you.

LEIGHTON DENNY NAIL POLISH – VAMP REVIEW ♡

Todays treat for the 4th of December I will be reviewing -

LEIGHTON DENNY NAIL POLISH – VAMP

So I have never used any Leighton Denny products before but I have heard about how amazing the nail polishes are so I was quite excited to be able to try one of them out for myself!

First of all the packaging is just a normal standard nail polish with a cute silver screw lid and the brush is actually quite good as it doesn’t streak but allows a neat application.

I really love the colour of this polish, which is in VAMP – perfect for winter! I would say that the colour is a deep dark purple, a blackberry colour. However to achieve the dark colour I wanted you definitely need at least two coats. If you just used one coat I’d say the colour is more of a blood red as opposed to a blackberry colour.

The only thing I disliked about this nail polish is that it can be quite gloopy – you need to be careful how you apply it. The way which I found worked for me was to use A LOT of polish and then brush over your nail rather than using a small amount at a time and this seemed to stop the polish from being so gloopy.

I absolutely love the colour but I am not sure about the actual polish itself, perhaps I need to try it in different colours as the colour of a polish can sometimes affect the consistency of the polish and maybe that way it will be less gloopy!

The polish lasted just under seven days which is pretty normal for standard nail polishes, however the odd nail did start to chip on the first day of application so I definitely recommend using a top coat to make the polish last longer!

ESPA OPTIMUM SKIN PROSERUM AND REFINING SKIN POLISH REVIEW ♡

Today for the 3rd of December I will be reviewing -

ESPA OPTIMUM SKIN PROSERUM AND REFINING SKIN POLISH

I love ESPA products so when I opened day number 3 I was extremely excited! I always feel like I’m in a spa when I smell the familiar smell of ESPA products as they all have such a distinguished smell that reminds me of spa days – heaven!

What was even more of a surprise was that along with two fabulous products I also received a £15 gift card to use online on any ESPA products – yayyyy!!

So back to the products …

These two products work wonderfully together! The REFINING SKIN POLISH is basically a cleanser and the OPTIMUM SKIN PROSERUM is a face oil. They work great if you use the REFINING SKIN POLISH first to cleanse the skin and then use the OPTIMUM SKIN PROSERUM to deeply moisturise the skin.

ESPA REFINING SKIN POLISH

This gentle exfoliator is perfect as an everyday cleanser as the exfoliating beads are small and soft so they wouldn’t be too harsh on your skin if used every day. I LOVE this as an exfoliator – it cleanses my skin leaving it soft and with a noticeable glow, which is exactly, what you want from an exfoliator/cleanser.

It is also suitable for all skin types, which is great if you have sensitive skin!

ESPA OPTIMUM SKIN PROSERUM

This face serum is more of an oil than a serum which I love - I adore face oils especially rosehip oil! As this product is definitely more of an oil than a gel like serum you only need a tiny amount as if you use too much it will leave your skin looking seriously greasy and that’s not the look we’re going for! A little goes a long way with this product!

DIRECTIONS – After using the ESPA REFINING SKIN POLISH use a small amount and gently massage into your skin – be careful when applying near your eye area. Once it absorbed into my skin my skin instantly felt smoother and looked brighter!

I will definitely keep using both of these products as I really do love them – Ill probably use the face oil in the evenings as well before I go to bed to leave my skin looking smooth and bright for the morning.

Yes I know I am officially RUBBISH – my intention to blog every day for my You Beauty advent calendar hasn’t quite gone to plan but don’t worry as I’m back!!

I’m going to catch up so I will be up to date with my blogging and you’ll be up to date with the daily products I’ve been receiving when opening my beauty advent calendar – yaaaayyyy!! SO get comfy as we’ve got a lot to get through!

2^nd December

CAUDALIE LIMITED EDITION HAND & NAIL CREAM – FEUILLE DE CASSIS

This hand and nail cream by Caudalie is scrumptious!! I love hand creams especially ones that leave my hands feeling soft but not greasy and this hand cream provides just that. Its perfect as you only need a tiny amount and your hands will feel so soft and it will even leave you with a healthy glow too!

I also adore the scent of this hand cream – some hand creams let themselves down, as they smell too strong or too artificial but this one is perfect, as you can smell just the right amount of blackcurrant, which is delicious!!

What I love most about this hand cream is that it absorbs straight into your skin so you don’t have to waste time waving your hands in the air trying to get the cream to dry.

I also noticed that the hand cream even moisturized the skin around my nails – my hands are really dry this time of year as it’s so cold so my cuticles get super dry! But this hand cream managed to make a huge difference and both my hands and nails felt so nourished after just one use.

The packaging of the hand cream is also a great benefit to the product as its in one of those squeezy tubes so you can literally squeeze everything out without letting any of the product go to waste! One thing that I would suggest is rather than a screw cap lid I would prefer a flip lid so then you can snap it shut rather than trying to screw the lid on whilst you’ve got the cream in your hands.

So what I have decided to do is every day once I've opened my YOU BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDAR I am going to review and then blog about the product I have received - simple!

Todays product for December 1st is the SISLEY - MASQUE CREME A LA ROSE NOIRE - BLACK ROSE CREAM MASK

So first of all the packaging is in your typical plastic tube with a screw cap lid - perfect just to wipe clean and no problems if you drop it on the floor or in any water.

The actually mask itself is in between a moisturiser and a gel formula, which makes it really easy to apply and you'll only need a small amount.

The fragrance of the mask is a really clean smell and there is a faint smell of the rose fragrance which is not too overpowering.

DIRECTIONS - Using my fingers I used a small amount and applied it all over my face without applying it over my eyes. I then left the mask on for 15 - 20 minutes and then using a damp cotton wool pad I wiped the mask off.

My skin instantly felt smoother but it also had a slight glow to it as well!

I definitely will try to use this mask at least twice a week as I could instantly see the difference in my skin.

Ill do another blog update to see the difference in my skin after using this product for a few weeks and hopefully you'll see the difference too.

How To Get Rid Of Chapped, Wintery, Dry Lips ♡

Hello Everyone ♡

So the days have certainly became shorter and the weather has most definitely become colder and of course to make matters worse our lips become dry and chapped?! Welcome to WINTER!

To be honest I am normally very lucky when it comes to chapped lips, I don't tend to get dry lips that often but when I do it takes chapped lips to a whole other level! When I sense my lips are starting to feel dry I use my own little remedy to banish the dryness away and I can honestly say it works super quickly - in fact if I do my little remedy at night the next morning I'll wake up and my lips are back to their soft selves just the way I like it!

So I hear you cry what is this home remedy?!

It honestly is the simplest home remedy you can think of and all of the things you'll need I can guarantee you'll already have them - which of course is great for your bank balance.

ITEMS YOU'LL NEED -

Toothbrush
Any type of Oil (Baby oil, almond oil etc.)
Your daily facial moisturiser

METHOD -

To begin dampen your lips using warm water and then using a dry toothbrush gently brush over your lips in a circular motion paying attention to the extra dry areas.

Once you've brushed all over your lips gently pat them dry using a towel. Then take your oil and measure a pea sized drop in your palm and with your finger massage the oil into your lips.

Your lips should be quite oily but make sure you've not put too much oil so its dripping from your lips! Wait 10 minutes and then take your normal daily facial moisturiser and using a tiny amount of moisturiser just massage onto your lips over the oil.

Wait for your lips to dry and then they should be silky smooth!

For best results you should try to do this at night just before you go to sleep so the oil and moisturiser can really seep into your lips overnight!

Hope this helps with those dry lips and make sure you stay nice and wrapped up whilst its cold!

Red Lip Make Up Tutorial ♡ Get The Face ♡

So today I thought I would do a make up tutorial on a look I've been wearing A LOT recently.

It's a look which you can wear as both a day/night look, I personally wear this for the day but it can be a bit too much if you're not used to a red lip!

Apologies for the quality of the photos but I've taken the pictures using my iPhone :( but hopefully you can still get the gist!

MAC Prep and Prime Natural Radiance Primer

LIPS:

MUA Lipstick - Shade 13

SKIN:

After washing my face I start off by applying my MAC Prep and Prime Primer. I massage it all over my face and I wait for it to dry before applying my foundation. Using my MAC 190 Foundation Brush I then apply my foundation in circular motions to make my foundation look airbrushed I then dab all over my face using my Beauty Blender just to even out the foundation and to get rid of any lines. Make sure you ALWAYS blend down to your neck to avoid any foundation lines!! I tend to use my Beauty Blender to blend down to my neck.

I then apply my concealer using the same 190 Foundation Brush I press the concealer under my eyes in a triangular shape going along my nose - just to lighten the area under my eyes. Then use the Beauty Blender just to set the concealer.

EYES:

I always do my eyebrows as soon as I am finished with my foundation!

So using the brush end of the eyebrow pencil first brush any excess foundation out of your eyebrows. Then with the pencil side of the eyebrow pencil using light, short, strokes brush the pencil through your eyebrows in the same direction as the hair growth. For areas that are sparse use slightly thicker strokes.

For a natural golden/brown smokey eye I used Devotion from the MUA Palette and swept it all over my eyelid with the H&M eyeshadow brush. Make sure you don't go over your eye crease yet!

Then using Dreamy from the MUA palette lightly blend into your crease whilst blending out towards the outer corner of your eyes using the same H&M eyeshadow brush.

Using Nylon lightly dust in the tear duct whilst blending up towards inner corner of the eye using Lancome Eyeshadow Brush. Using a blending brush take the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish and blend all over the crease and gently working towards the eyebrow. Whatever product you have left on your brush from Nylon gently sweep under your eyebrow to give a light shimmer and highlight.

To line your eyes use the L'oreal Super Liner and starting from the inner corner work your way to the outer corner but gradually making the line thicker as you work your way out and finish off with a slight winged look. Only line the top eyelids - No products are used on the bottom eyelids.

Finally curl your eyelashes using the Shu Uemura curlers and hold down for 10 seconds whilst clamping lightly. Then apply three coats of the Lancome Mascara on your top set of eyelashes.

CHEEKS:

Using the MAC Warm Soul Blush sweep over the apples of your cheeks lightly blending up towards your cheekbones.

Then take the Sleek Contour Kit and using the darker shade contour the hollows of your cheeks using MAC Contour Brush. With the left over product lightly sweep over the apples of your cheeks just to blend it all together. Then using the highlight from the Sleek Contour Kit lightly dust over your cheekbones and down the bridge of your nose using MAC 130 Brush.

LIPS:

Using the MUA Lipstick apply it all over your lips. Then use the MAC 316 Lip Brush just to line your lips using the same lipstick but making sure you do not go over your natural lip line.

There you have it, the complete look for my Red Lip Day Time Look!

Body Shop Body Butter ♡

I love love love body butters!

Every morning after my shower I literally plaster body butter all over! I actually can't get dressed unless I have fully moisturised from top to toe - weird I know!?

Due to my love of body butters I have a few favourites and they tend to change on a monthly basis. This months favourite and I suppose my favourite go to body butter has to be the Body Shop's Cocoa Butter Body Butter. Mmmmm I love it!

This body butter is my favourite because I just love the rich chocolatey smell which lasts all day! It has such a sweet smell but not sickly sweet, it manages to have the sweet smell right on balance.

The other reason I love this body butter other than the addictive smell is the fact that it keeps my skin moisturised all day and even through out the night which is perfect if you have dry skin!

The last reason has to be the fact that this thing lasts FOREVER! You only need a small amount to cover your whole body and it dries pretty quickly too!

I really recommend all of the Body Shop's Body Butters and the Cocoa Butter one in particular!

Eyeshadow Palette ♡ - Urban decay Naked 2 verses MUA Undress Me Too

I thought I would do my first ever post on two products that I swear by and that I use EVERY day.

They are of course eyeshadow palettes! I tend to always wear a brown smokey eye for my every day make up look and these two palettes are perfect with both having a gorgeous selection of neutrals and brown colours.

As you can see from the above pictures the MUA one has had A LOT of use!

I honestly love both of these palettes! However if I had to choose one over the other I would have to pick the MUA undress me too palette. The main reason being is that I actually prefer the colours in the MUA palette compared to the Naked 2 one. I feel that the colours are more pigmented and therefore apply more easily.

Another big reason has to be the price difference.

Yes you have read that correctly, £4.00 I know! Even if you're not strapped for cash I suggest going to buy the MUA palette (I've made several of my friends purchase it just because its so affordable) because it really is such an amazing little palette and even if you only use one of the colours (which I highly doubt) its still so worth it!

I will say though that the only downfall with the MUA palette is the black shadow in 'corrupt' you really have to build up the colour if you are wanting a dark black look. Whereas the black shadow 'Blackout' in the Naked 2 palette is as black as it comes - really amazing matte black eyeshadow, perfect for a smokey eye look!
