New Delhi, February 2026: The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, announced the establishment of a National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) for Skilling in Aeronautics and Defence at National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), Kanpur, in collaboration with the Government of the French Republic under the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) scheme of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).

The Hon’ble Prime Minister announced this statement was made during a joint press statement with the President of France while inaugurating the India–France Year of Innovation and related cooperation initiatives, including the National Centre of Excellence for Skilling in Aeronautics.

The proposed NCoE at Kanpur will focus on advanced skill training in aeronautics, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), airport operations, defence manufacturing and allied domains. It is envisaged as a world-class institution that will strengthen India’s capacity in aviation skilling while supporting the country’s growing aerospace and defence ecosystem.

Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Government of India said, “Under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, PM-SETU is redefining the future of India’s ITI ecosystem. The National Centre of Excellence in Aviation at Kanpur will not only create a pipeline of globally competent aviation professionals but also deepen India’s strategic partnership with France in emerging and advance technology sectors. A Letter of Intent (LoI) has been exchanged between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, and the Government of the French Republic to collaborate on the establishment of this Centre under the PM-SETU scheme. The intent builds upon the India–France Strategic Partnership and the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed in 2025 in the field of skill development and vocational education and training.

The proposed collaboration envisages co-designed curricula, structured training-of-trainers programmes, periodic joint review of programmes, exchange initiatives, language training and development of structured mobility pathways, along with cooperation in aeronautics, space and allied domains. The Letter of Intent serves as a record of intent pending the execution of a specific agreement governing the activities contemplated under this initiative.

The establishment of the India–France National Centre of Excellence in Aviation marks a significant step in strengthening India’s skilling architecture, reinforcing global partnerships and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through high-quality, industry-integrated vocational education and training.

With an overall outlay of ₹60,000 crore, PM-SETU aims to upgrade 1000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the country, modernising infrastructure, aligning curricula with industry demand and strengthening employability outcomes. Mumbai, February 19, 2026: INOXGFL Group, today emerged as a successful bidder for the acquisition of the IPP and O&M businesses of Wind World India through the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT)-approved resolution process. The acquisition will be through its companies — Inox Clean Energy limited (“Inox Clean”) and Inox Green Energy Services Limited (“Inox Green”).

Under the transaction, Inox Clean — the Group’s renewable energy platform engaged in developing, owning and operating utility-scale wind, solar and hybrid assets —will acquire Wind World India’s Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio. Inox Green — one of India’s leading renewable O&M service provider with a large and diversified portfolio across multiple states — will acquire Wind World India’s Operations & Maintenance (O&M) arm.

Wind World India has manufacturing, IPP and O&M operations. Wind World India, directly and through its subsidiaries, has a combined installed IPP capacity of approximately 600 MW, with wind farms spread across seven key wind-rich states: Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

Additionally, Wind World India’s O&M portfolio stands at nearly 4.5 GW, servicing a marquee client base that includes leading corporates such as the Tata Group, ReNew, Greenko Group, Apraava Energy and Hindustan Zinc, amongst others.

With this acquisition, Inox Clean expands its IPP portfolio with operational wind assets across key wind corridors. Inox Clean is setting new growth benchmarks and has established a solid base to achieve its medium-term targets of 10 GW of installed IPP capacity and 11 GW of integrated solar manufacturing capacity by FY28.

Meanwhile, Inox Green, a part of the INOXGFL Group, a leading listed renewables O&M company, has ~13.3 GWp assets under its management. Inox Green is on a massive growth journey and on course to be the largest renewable O&M company in India.

IIT mandi Signs MoU with JK Group’s delopt to Strengthen embedded systems and Electro-Optics research

January 29th, 2026 |Mumbai– The Indian institute of technology Mandi (IIT Mandi), one of india’s leading iits, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JK DELOPT, an ISO 9001-certified company under the JK Organisation. Through this collaboration, IIT Mandi and JK DELOPT will work jointly on research, innovation, and translation of advanced technologies into deployable solutions with real-world impact.

This collaboration envisions a transformative roadmap where IIT Mandi’s research excellence and JK DELOPT’s industry and manufacturing capabilities converge to develop next-generation sovereign technologies. The partnership aims to strengthen national defence preparedness, enhance strategic self-reliance, and extend technological innovations to civilian sectors, positioning India as a global leader in intelligent, secure, and indigenous solutions. Moreover, this MoU aims to establish a long-term industry-academia partnership focused on indigenous technology development, aligned with the national priorities of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Commenting on the collaboration, Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Director, IIT Mandi, said, “IIT Mandi remains deeply committed to indigenisation and national self-reliance in critical technologies. The agreement was formally signed and exchanged by the Dean (Sponsored Research & Industrial Consultancy), IIT Mandi and the CEO, JK DELOPT, in the presence of the Director, Registrar, senior faculty members, and representatives from both institutions. On the occasion, the CEO of JK DELOPT was felicitated by the Director, IIT Mandi, recognising the company’s contribution to indigenous technology development.

Under the MoU, both partners will collaborate on joint research and development projects, technology demonstrations, and prototype development in areas such as electro-optic systems, embedded platforms, AI-integrated vision systems, and intelligent surveillance solutions. The partnership also envisages student internships, industry exposure, expert lectures, and collaborative supervision of research scholars, strengthening skill development and industry readiness.

The collaboration draws significant strength from IIT Mandi’s Visual Intelligence and Machine Learning (VIML) Group, led by Dr. Dinesh Singh, whose research focuses on computer vision, multimodal AI, and vision-based perception systems. Ongoing research efforts include UAV-based defence applications, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, accident anticipation models, forensic vision technologies, and real-time monitoring solutions, alongside broader applications in healthcare and safety.

Dr. Singh’s expertise in computer vision, vision-language models (VLMs), and intelligent perception systems will play a key role in advancing the partnership’s objectives, particularly in developing AI-driven electro-optic and embedded solutions for strategic and interactive applications.

Indian Institutes of Technology Mandi is one of the top second-generation IITs located in Kamand Valley, Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, India.
