Thaicom 6 Satellite Ku-Band for DTH Application Over the Middle East and Northern Africa

2010-09-07T02:31:00.000-07:00

Attention Investors!

If you have a serious plan to doing a DTH business over the Middle East and the Northern part of Afica but don't have the needed capacity or find that the needed capacity is so expensive, then it's a good opportunity for you to explore partnership with Thaicom PCL which is going to have its Thaicom 6 launched in the early part of 2013.

Thaicom PCL still has three more months to wait for some investors who are interested to invest on its Thaicom 6 satellite by committing in advance a certain numbers of Ku-Band transponders for its DTH business over the Middle East and the northern part of Africa.

For details, please kindly direct your inquiry to it's International Sales Account Manager by sending your message to this e-mail address: handeilm@thaicom.net or calling his to this number: +66892014368.

Thaicom PCL's Thaicom 6 Satellite

2010-09-02T03:10:00.000-07:00

According to a very reliable source, Thaicom PCL's Thaicom 6 satellite will be in operation by 2013.

Thaicom 6 would be mainly for replacement for Thaicom 2 which would soon be transferred to Thailand's secod satellite slot location.

When the new satellite (Thaicom 6) is already in operation by then, all Thai customers on Thaicom 5 would be transferred to it, thus freeing the capacity on Thaicom 5, both on its C-Band Regional and Globam beams.

So, for those who came to Thaicom PCL for its Thaicom 5 capacity, but failed to acquire it for the very reason that it's full at that time, then 2013, is the best time to get the capacity.

One better suggestion is to start dealing with its Sales people today or at the latest, before the end of the second quarter of 2012.

To secure the capacity, just prepare two-month security deposit and one-month advance payment. This is how to secure the capacity in this company.

Good luck!

Thaicom PCL to Launch Thaicom 6

2010-08-25T00:56:00.000-07:00

Note: This is a permitted re-post from a well-known: Satellite Service Adviser

Attention Satellite Service Providers!

This information is from a very reliable source inside the said company mentioned below.

This is to formally informed you that Thaicom PCL are curently working on the demand forecast for the new satellite (Thaicom 6), which is planned to be in operation in 2013 at 78.5 E.

The standard C-band footprint shall be similar to the one of Thaicom 5 (regional beam).

So, if you think you have the capacity need by that time, or at the latest, a year after, it's better to start talking now to Handeil - it's International Sales Account Manager via this e-mail: handeilm@thaicom.net, or you can call him directly on his mobile phone: +66892014368.

Securing your satellite bandwidth needs of the future before actually launching the satellite is the most intelligent approach you can do to benefit your satellite related business. Doing it later, surely, it will not only give headaches in the negotiations stage, but it will also give you worries of whether you can secure the capacity or not because of the tight competition for the same capacity as it happened in the past.

Time just flies, so make the first move now!

Satellite Capacity Availability

2010-08-13T06:23:00.000-07:00

The scarcity of the satellite bandwidth this year makes broadcast business difficult, especially for those start-up ones.

Pakistan alone, presents lots of bandwidth requirements, especially this time that Paksat is running full of capacity. With its next satellite launch that would take some more time, it means that at the moment, it doesn't have much options.

So, many has gone to other satellite service providers, especially Thaicom to ask for the same bandwidth capacity requirements. But, since it is also struggling for capacity needs within its base country, then it means that clients have not much bargaining power to negotiate with Thaicom or any other satellite service provider.

Ground Control's Satellite VPN and Satellite Networking

2010-08-07T09:00:00.000-07:00

Encore Bandit II
Client & Server-Side VPN
$699 Each

Encore VSR-1200 Server-Side VPN Concentrator
Connects up to 1200 simultaneous VPN sessions
$9499.

According to Ground Control information resources, many VPN solutions will slow a connection to a crawl over satellite because they are not designed to handle the intrinsic latency unavoidable with satellite. The Encore Bandit II and the Encore VSR-1200 VPN pair deliver superior performance over satellite. The Bandit appliance will tunnel to an identical Bandit, or it can connect to the VSR-1200 which can handle up to 1200 simultaneous VPN sessions. Both devices have feature rich tools and are both are a time tested proven solution for high security VPN over satellite.

Standard Star Topology Network.

On its Star Topology iDirect services, there is no special provisioning required to integrate the Encore VPN solution into an existing terrestrial network.

Expanding an existing network to include satellite is fairly straight forward, but never the same for any organization. Ground Control’s sales engineers will answer any questions you have so that they can help you achieve your objectives on time and under budget.

Total Private Satellite Network.

A Total Private Network (TPN) uses a leased line from the corporate server directly to the satellite NOC, where the connection to client sites is secured through a variety of methods. The iDirect 5000 series iNfiniti router, includes powerful AES Link Encryption.

IPSTAR Technology Best For the Philippines

2010-08-05T01:29:00.000-07:00

One of the best ways to improve the situation in the Philippines, especially in its centralized governance, is to use the same example as in the government at Donsol.

This humble part of the Philippines used to be a sleepy coastal town in Sorsogon – a province in the southernmost tip of Luzon. Long time back, nobody knows the place except for its local inhabitants, until a few years ago when tourists began to flock this remote place to take a look and see the biggest fish on Earth, called the “whale shark.”

According to IPSTAR news (see original source here: http://www.ipstar.com/ph/success_ipstar_helps.html) as the government seeing the increase in local population due to the booming tourism industry, the local government of Donsol focused its efforts towards ICT applications that will effectively enhance the delivery of frontline government services to its constituents.

Through the Philippine government's broadband connectivity project – dubbed as ‘Jumpstarting Electronic Governance in Local Government Units (eLGU)' – Donsol has been provided with an IPSTAR broadband Internet connection by We are IT (WIT). The newly installed IPSTAR network proves to be not only beneficial to the LGUs and its employees, but also to the town's constituents.

In the past, local residents need to go to government offices just to pay their taxes or to apply for a business license. This traditional way of service delivery in most rural LGUs is slow, expensive, and oftentimes time-consuming – especially for the villagers who are living in far-flung areas outside the town center.

With the eLGU project, government offices are able to deliver better and faster online services via IPSTAR at lesser costs, while generating higher revenue for Donsol's local government. Town residents now file their applications for business license or pay their taxes directly from their homes, offices or any Internet cafe. In addition, notification of tax dues and payment status can also be checked via eLGU's online service.

The eLGU project also promotes information dissemination as it gives constituents and investors anytime, anywhere access to critical information via Donsol's local website. “With vital information exposed to public scrutiny via the government's website, e-governance would mean lesser opportunities for graft and corruption. Enhanced transparency will definitely give the public a clearer picture of what is happening in various government offices”, said a local resident.

With this approach, I am very confident that President Noynoy Aquino’s visions for the Philippines will surely be helped by this strategy.

So, if the Philippines will study extensively the case in Donsol and the other parts of the country applying the same strategy, and apply this same to at least 95% of the country’s populated islands, then I am pretty sure Filipinos will be in different and higher level in many aspects of their lives.

Technologies like the one used with IPSTAR would be of great help to achieve the greatest dream of the all the Filipino people – eliminating poverty and scary crimes happening all around the country. And of course, prayers are also needed to attain this dream.

Satellite Broadband

2010-08-04T02:13:00.000-07:00

How do you determine how fast really is fast when talking about broadband satellite?

Harboursat has an answer to this question.

Fast satellite broadband is exactly that... fast! Offering download speeds 10-20 times faster than dial-up, satellite broadband is an "always on service", separate from your phone line, meaning you can access a greater number of websites and internet features faster and with greater reliability.

Why Broadband?

What is Broadband and why do I need it?

Broadband is internet which allows you to have fast and reliable access to multimedia services and applications, bigger data files and new communications services. It is vastly superior to "dial-up" internet in that service is more reliable and speeds provided can be up to 10 to 20 times faster. In laymen's terms, broadband has greater information-carrying capacity.

Features / Benefits

• It's all about you! - Satellite broadband is "always on". No more waiting for a phone line to be freed up gets you access to your information anytime you want... placing you in control. Connect when you want, to what you want, anytime you want.
• Speed - allows the whole family to get access to the information they need 10-20 times faster than dial-up. Downloading music, pictures, emails, movies... everything is faster and smoother saving you time and increasing your productivity.
• Cost control - with a wide variety of plans and prices, satellite broadband costs can be controlled by you.

Broadband Lifestyle

Broadband allows you to access all kinds of features and services from the comfort of your home or office. Just a few of the lifestyle benefits include:
• Book an international or domestic holiday
• Check your bank balance or apply for loan

Gorilla in the TV Market

2010-08-03T02:45:00.000-07:00

In our world today, there are so many ultras: ultra-sound, ultra-violet rays, ultra-power, etc. One of these ultras is coming to be very popular very soon. This is known as “Ultra-strong glass” and now named as Gorilla glass.

This ultra-strong glass has shown some great promise since its inception in 1960, but failed to find a commercial application at that time. So, according to Yahoo News, it's been biding its time in a hilltop research lab for almost a half-century.

However, in 2008 it picked up its first customer and has quickly become a multi-million dollar a year business as a protective layer over the screens of 40 million-plus cell phones and other mobile devices.

Conrning Inc., the 159-year old glass pioneer is now raising high its Gorilla glass productions, expecting it to be the hot new face of touch-screen tablets and high-end TVs.

Since Gorilla glass is very hard to break, dent or scratch, the company is now very confident that it will be the glass of choice as TV-set manufacturers dispense with protective rims or bezels for their sets, in search of an elegant look.

Driving Business Through Triple-Play Strategy

2010-08-01T23:23:00.000-07:00

Most of the telecommunications service providers today are going for a triple-play business in order to hold its competitiveness in the market.

One good example is the Portuguese pay-TV operator ZON which is now enjoying considerable success in migrating its subscribers to multiple play bundles, though its overall subscriber total is falling. According to Broadband TV News (which can be found from this link: http://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2010/07/30/triple-play-drives-zon-growth/), its number of triple play customers stood at 571,900 (+46.3%) and almost one in two cable subscribers (49%) received triple play services.

Seeing this success, others had also followed. So, different sectors have now converged on delivering information and services to consumers through the Internet. By doing so, it gives them a very high competitive advantage over those who remain its traditional way of doing business.

At the moment, Pacific Broadband Networks (PBN) is trying to contact one of the biggest satellite service providers in Asia to introduce its Light Link Series signal transmission equipment for the delivery of ‘triple play’ services including TV, Internet and Voice across broadband networks.

PBN product range includes:

Ø Optical TXs and RXs for all standard wavelengths 1270 nm thru 1610 nm,

Ø EDFA amplifiers,

Ø RFoG Systems,

Ø Deep fiber nodes and Distribution Amplifiers,

Ø FTTx systems, and

Ø Network System Monitoring, Management and Provisioning Software.

The value and benefits of PBN equipment are :

ü Western-design of broadband RF and optical equipment,

ü High-quality manufacturing to ensure product reliability,

ü Same-time-zone, Australia-based support, and

ü Price & Value ....... PBN products offer Value and can compete with any manufacturer on Price.

If you are interested, please log on to the website link below or request a full-line catalog if you have questions about the PBN product line or want a quote for equipment for any new projects you may be working on or considering to quote.

3.8 Meter Parabolic Offset Antenna

2010-07-31T08:05:00.000-07:00

After more than 3 months of hard negotiations with the client, finally, everything was done. All the broadcast equipments were ordered through our company and after about 90 days, everything was delivered to our first boradcast client at the Somaliland - the breakaway region of Somalia.

I was very happy then because it's my first client I personally brought to our company and I was very excited to travel the country to meet the people I would be communicating with all throughout the duration of the service agreement.

While in the midst of our antenna installation, I was so sad looking at the situation on how to point the 3.8 meter parabolic (offset) antenna because the vehicle that carries the equipment to help us raise the antenna could not get in, due to the narrow space as you can see in the first picture.

Our engineers had already lost their faith to finish the job because of the problem of raising the antenna higher. After a thorough analysis, I was able to find a solution (as you can see on the same picture) which they had graciously accepted. Recalling and using the basic principles I had all learned from our Engineering Mechanics, especially in finding the center of gravity, we were able to raise the antenna by simply using a very small antique automobile jack. And as you can see in the second picture above, everyone was very happy.
The external system was then ready for the test. After all the equipment installations and testings, our engineers had trained the main staffs who will be taking care of the whole system.

Finally, when everything was done, as our way of saying thank you to our client and his staffs for warmly receiving us, and for becoming our first African customer, we then had a very big lunch together. Few hours later, we had returned back to Bangkok, Thailand, safe and sound with God's grace and protection.
