Bob Saget will travel the country exploring strange American subcultures in a new reality series on A&E.

In Bob Saget’s Strange Days, the America’s Funniest Home Videos host and all-American dad in the cheeseball sitcom Full House, will immerse himself in cultures such as the world of mail-order brides to joining a survivalist cult prepping for the end of the world to rushing at a fraternity.

The series is in production and expected to hit the air next year.

“Bob Saget has been a part of the television landscape for years, but now we’ll be seeing him in a completely different light as he travels the country to explore ways of living that most of us know nothing about,” said Robert Sharenow, senior VP of reality at A&E. “The show will reveal hidden corners of the real America and the real Bob Saget, who is even funnier and more relatable when just being himself than any other role he’s ever played.”

Saget is also an executive producer of the show, along with Peter Traugott (Samantha Who?) Troy Searer and John Foy (A&E’s Obsessed).

Saget started performing stand-up comedy and did a number of national tours. Later, in 1987, he became the co-host of The Morning Program; an attempt by CBS to take a different direction with morning television. He also wrote and produced content for the show.

In a recent interview, The Office’s B.J. Novak said that Saget had a “fatherly vibe” about him and that he cursed a lot in front of his daughters. Sagat confirmed that story:

“Well, I’d never talk like I did on The Aristocrats [his famously blue 2005 documentary] around my kids. That was about as beyond as anybody can go. You can’t tell a joke like that in a theater. It’s not that it’s not funny, but it’s only funny in a specific environment,” says Saget. “It’s funny because it’s heinous. (Pause.) Do you think they purposely came up with the word heinous to rhyme with another word? Anyway, my catharsis is continual. I feel like I’m still trying to get things right, whatever medium it’s in.

He added: “I like doing stand-up where I can be completely engaged. Plus it’s your moment, your show. People think I live this life of extremes, that I’m either the clean-cut guy or … well the people who come to my shows, their jaws don’t drop anymore. After 15 years of makeovers, they get it now. I don’t recall how many times you have to curse in public to get people to understand you’re not going to pick up a Dustbuster.”

TLC’s popular reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8 will finally end its run on Monday at 9 p.m. EST.

During this final hour, the now divorced Jon and Kate Gosselin, the estranged parents of young twins and sextuplets, will venture on separate outings with the kids. Jon will take them to a fire station near the family home in Wernersville, Pa. Kate will take the kids to a local dairy farm. Individually, each newly single parent will reflect on what the past has meant and what the future might hold.

Jon Gosselin filed a lawsuit against TLC last month, claiming the show’s producers violated Pennsylvania’s child labor laws when they filmed the kids. It was filed in response to a network lawsuit alleging Gosselin failed to meet his obligations to TLC. The network has said it retains an exclusive talent arrangement with him, as well as the rest of the family.

Here’s what TLC says about the finale:

As Jon and Kate mentally prepare for the unpredictable future of the show, they each sit down to provide new insights on their recent life events and what the series has meant through the ups and downs of the last several years. How will they each respond to the uncertainty of the future? In the series finale, Jon and Kate continue to make the transition into single parenthood, they each seek to make the most out of their time with the eight kids. When Kate takes the kids to a local dairy farm, they learn the art of milking a cow, what it takes to feed a calf, and drink fresh milk! Then Jon and the kids learn all about firefighting when they visit a local fire station and help raise money for these local heroes.”

In September, a revamped series was announced. Jon & Kate Plus 8 was meant to segue smoothly into Kate Plus Eight this month, concentrating on the kids and their mom. “‘Kate Plus Eight’ is not in production,” TLC spokeswoman Laurie Goldberg said Thursday. “We are focusing on the launch of Kate’s new series in early spring.”

AMC’s miniseries remake of the classic U.K. series The Prisoner got off to a solid start with 2.2 million viewers (1.7 household rating) during its two-hour debut Sunday evening. The number is only slightly off the season-average pace of AMC’s signature series, the Emmy-winning Mad Men, which averaged 2.3 million viewers. Yet before AMC could break out the champagne, the series took a sever dip to less than 1 million viewers for its second night. That’s a 56% drop.

Starring James Caviezel and Ian McKellen, The Prisoner represents the first series gestated under AMC’s new creative team, which is headed by Joel Stillerman.

The show has been a critical disaster for the cable channel whose shows are known to showcase high quality shows including Breaking Bad. If there were hopes of turning the mini-series into a weekly drama, those chances are now nonexistent.

The Prisoner, a remake of the 1960’s sci-fi series of the same name, features a man (Jim Caviezel) who quits his job and soon wakes up in a village with no memory of his previous life. He is designated the number 6 as his only form of identity. Though he refuses to believe that the Village is all there is (as everyone seems to believe), he is forced into a battle of the wills with 2 (Sir Ian McKellan), who seems to be hiding a secret about the village. As 6 tries to escape, he finds himself in more and more bizarre circumstances, such as being chased in the desert by a large white balloon known in the original series as Rover that will suffocate him if it catches him. Yeah, the show’s a bit of a head trip.

“The original [Prisoner series] was preoccupied with Cold War attitudes toward the Soviet Union and Big Brother and that sort of thing,” McKellen said. “We have a different Big Brother now, coming as much from big corporations as from big government,” in an era in which surveillance and security are taken for granted. “We’ve sort of accepted it.”

Also The Prisoner is currently topping the iTunes chart. AMC will be running encores of the show starting on Sunday Nov. 22.

TNT announced this week that Jason Lee will be taking on the starring role in a new TNT pilot entitled Delta Blues. The new series is described as an offbeat drama about Dwight Hendricks, a Memphis police officer who lives with his mother and moonlights as an Elvis impersonator.

Lee spent four seasons playing karma king Earl Hickey in the NBC comedy My Name Is Earl. The popular comedy experienced severely declining ratings and was canceled last fall.

“Jason Lee is the ideal choice to bring the compelling, off-kilter Dwight Hendricks to life,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “With extraordinary talent in front of and behind the camera, along with an outstanding script, Delta Blues is shaping up to be a hugely entertaining show and a great fit with our lineup of original dramas.”

Delta Blues will be penned by writers Liz M. Garcia (Cold Case) and actor Joshua Harto (The Dark Knight) who is making his first endeavor into TV writing. George Clooney is among the project’s executive producers along with Grant Heslov. Also executive producing is Garcia, while Harto will get a producer credit. Clark Johnson (The Wire, The Shield) will direct the pilot and also receive an exec-producer credit.

After NBC canceled My Name Is Earl, TNT sister network TBS tried to continue production of the show this year, but budget issues thwarted the move. Lee earned several acting nominations for the role.

Lee has been busy on other fronts as well. Lee and Luke Watson co-created a live-action comedy for Adult Swim set in the world of skateboarding. Lee is attached to direct and star in the comedy, which is now in development.

On the big screen, Get Back, which Lee will direct, tells the story of two music-obsessed friends who time-travel back to 1966 London, where one gets caught in a love triangle with John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

In Hollywood, Lee recently finished his involvement on Kevin Smith’s A Couple of Dicks. Lee has been a Kevin Smith fixture since his 1995 film Mallrats. He also wrapped production on George Gall and Kevin Pollak’s Columbus Circle. From season 1 of Project Runway, I think viewers have been absolutely hooked. I know I have. And ever since they made the move from Bravo to Lifetime, I bet that they have gained even more viewers.

The goal of the show remains the same: provide budding designers with an opportunity to launch their careers in fashion. Host Heidi Klum returns, as do Tim Gunn in the role of mentor and Michael Kors and Nina Garcia as judges determining the fate of 16 new contestants as they compete to show off their line at Fashion Week in New York.

So it’s down to the final three in New York: Carol Hannah, Althea, and Irina. Who will be the winner? Who will walk away with the prize?

Check out a preview of the show:

And don’t forget to tune in tonight on Lifetime to see whose collection will walk away the winner!

It’s just another day on the set of a porno movie, when this episode’s Patient of the Week — a 30-ish, Jewish male porn star — has a severe reaction to light known as photophobia, collapsing on the set in a way that not even Viagra could revive. The woodsman is then sent off to (where else?) Princeton-Plainsboro.

Foreman, interim head of the Diagnostics department, wants to forgo Male Porn Star’s case in favor of a baby that has gone completely limp. (Insert your own joke here.) Luckily for the woodsman, Cuddy drops off the papers reinstating House as the department head and it looks like the staff will be working on his case instead.

This might not be as simple as it seems, since Cameron and Chase have both decided to leave Princeton-Plainsboro because Chase is reminded on a daily basis that he medically terminated Dibala. The happy couple can’t walk out just yet, not having given sufficient notice. Chase and Cameron set to work to discover what’s wrong with the Woodsman.

The ailing porn star gives the details of his life to both Chase and a rather judgmental Cameron. (Apparently, her bleeding heart doesn’t extend towards porn stars or genocidal dictators… Just husbands who happen to kill off the latter.) Chase seems rather intrigued that the Woodsman is tested for STDs regularly as part of his job, and even more so that he’s married… to another porn star…. And that they’re both perfectly okay with boinking other people as part of their respective job descriptions. While Chase doesn’t hate, but rather appreciates while discussing matters of conscience, Cameron is appalled at their nonchalant attitude towards on-the-job lack of monogamy and the Woodsman’s wife’s insisting that sex is separate from emotion. Woodsman’s Wife also verbally smacks Princess Judgmental down by telling her that she’s there to treat her husband, not judge him.

In the midst of all this, the patient’s blood will not clot and he’s bleeding out all over the place. Even better, they discover that the male porn star has a colony of worms residing in his liver. Things get even hairier when the Woodsman’s lungs begin to fill with fluid for the as-yet-unknown malady that’s slowly killing him.

House, on the other hand, starts doing some research and bones up (no pun intended) on the patient’s work to get a better scope on this case. In light of Cameron and Chase’s proposed departure, House attempts to get the band back together to round out his department. He hunts down Taub at his cosmetic surgery practice and a fresh-from-Thailand Thirteen, seeking their input on the case, as well. Attempting to get them back in a diagnostics state of mind, he baits Taub with taunts that he’s suddenly become Husband-of-the-Year to a wife he can’t stand to be around and calling Thirteen a chicken for not being able to work around her ex, Foreman. Additionally, House also baits Taub and Thirteen with the patient’s life by threatening to treat him with possibly dangerous methods of “cure” for an unknown ailment. Both Taub and Thirteen take the bait and are back on House’s team by the end of the episode with Thirteen manning up and Taub admitting that diagnostics gives him the thrill that philandering used to.

Wilson, on the other hand, is disturbed that House has gone to such great lengths to get back his staff. Wilson notes that there are at least 1,000 people who want to be a part of House’s staff, yet he’s going after the four people who don’t. Wilson concludes that familiar faces are House’s new drug of choice, a source of comfort since he’s no longer popping Vicodin like candy. He doesn’t need good doctors, he just needs a good friend! The issue of Cuddy’s new boy toy, Lucas – the only other person besides Wilson who House can call a friend – making off with the one woman House actually cares for is another cause for House throwing himself into his work.

And since House isn’t happy in Romantic Relationship Land, no one else can be, either. Preferring to see Chase and Cameron break up sooner rather than inevitably later (and presumably, after both doctors exit his team), House speaks to each half of the couple individually. He tells Chase their marriage will eventually implode due to Cameron’s bleeding heart character flaw that could never allow her to live with someone she sees as a murderer.

When House speaks with Cameron, she tells him that, at one point, she was in love with House, not Chase, believing that she could heal him. She attempts to excuse Chase’s behavior on the Dibala Debacle by blaming House for imprinting his personality on his staff, teaching them that it’s okay to play God. She resigns herself that she cannot heal either her husband or House, saying that “there’s no way back for either of you.” Kissing house on the cheek, she departs from Princeton-Plainsboro… possibly forever.

While House’s gradually progressing social relationship skills is an issue, things are getting worse for the Woodsman who’s now peeing blood and headed into cardiac arrest. It turns out that the pills given to him to remove the worms from his liver were hurting him, rather than helping him. Due to germaphobe parents who didn’t allow the Woodsman to play in the dirt and be properly exposed to filth, he developed a form of extra-intestinal Crohn’s Disease. The worms were actually helping him. The Woodsman is cured, allowing him to resume his dream job with no fear.

The episode ends with a montage of House’s piecemeal staff: Thirteen and Foreman exchange “I’m ignoring you on the job” glances; Taub breaks the news that he’s back working with House; Cameron’s suitcases are packed as she kisses soon-to-be-ex hubby Chase goodbye; and House watches Cuddy and Lucas snuggling with each other as they leave the hospital together. **sigh**

Dexter is seriously bummed out after he kills Jonathan Farrow, abusive douchebag S&M photographer extraordinaire who is nonetheless (technically) an innocent man. Dexter vows to balance the scales and adhere to the Code of Harry and land Trinity on his kill table next and make things right. He decides to do so by staging a little road trip, posing as his new alter ego, Kyle, and telling Arthur/Trinity that he really needs to get away and hitches a ride to Tampa with Arthur. Dexter/Kyle foams at the mouth in-character that he needs to give back to the world and make things right. Arthur looks about as pleased about Dexter/Kyle infringing upon his road trip as he would be if he’d been told he was getting a saline enema.

Unbeknownst to each other, it would appear that both Dexter and Arthur had packed for a kill on their little road trip: Dexter taking his supply of slides and kill tools (including Trinity’s hammer) and Arthur is seen packing sis’s ashes into a convenient travel-size vial which he wraps in a “Four Walls, One Heart” towel.

Once again, Arthur’s mood swings like he’s going through menopause and he snaps at Dexter/Kyle who keeps hinting that he’s got a secret and something to atone for. Finally, Dexter/Kyle cracks and says that he accidentally killed a man in a hunting accident and feels horrible about it. (Which isn’t entirely untrue.) Arthur reacts with genuine compassion and the two head back to their respective hotel rooms. The next morning “happy dancing man” Arthur tells Dexter/Kyle that he’s got a surprise for him and takes him back to the house where Trinity was essentially born.

After bum-rushing past the nice Asian couple who now owns the house Arthur grew up in, he confesses to Kyle/Dexter that he felt responsible for his sister’s death. Ten-year-old Arthur was “innocently” watching his sister in the shower when he startled her and she slipped, breaking the glass doors on the shower and severing her femoral artery. His parents blamed him and this kicked off a family-wide downward spiral, involving his mom leaping to her death and Daddy Dearest developing an angry drinking habit, culminating in a barrage of beatings for young Arthur before he decided to orphan himself by bludgeoning pops with a framing hammer. He tells Dexter/Kyle that he had never told anyone this and shares his burden as feeling responsible for the death of an innocent.

With this near-confession, Dexter decides he’s going to off Arthur in his sleep and sets up his hotel room with the usual killing accoutrements: photos of victims, a table, saran wrap, etc. Heading to Arthur’s room armed with a syringe to drug him, Dexter jimmies the lock and finds that Arthur has gone missing in the night. He ends up trailing him to one of the Four Walls, One Heart structures he’s been working on, pouring out a little of Sis’s ashes for his homies down below and preparing to off himself by leaping from the building. Dexter debates his own humanity and capacity for compassion, finding himself conflicted between allowing Arthur/Trinity to die by his own hand, or watching another person die period. He jumps out and saves Arthur and has a last-minute judgment that maybe he will let Trinity eat pavement after all, when several other construction workers rush the scene and help pull Arthur to safety. Arthur, in turn, believes it was Dexter/Kyle who saved his life and chalks it up to divine providence, that instead of Arthur saving “Kyle,” it was “Kyle” who was there to save him. They’re totally BFF’s now!\

Back at Casa de Dexter, Rita has declared that she’s working on “a new me” by taking up Tuesday yoga classes that Dexter must now schedule his kills around so he can watch the kids. Annoying Neighbor Elliot, however, is more than happy to watch the kids… And Rita, too. After taking Astor and Cody fishing, he comes back to Casa de Dexter and has a few drinks with Rita who lets him know that back in the day, she was a “dress-over-the-head party girl” and comes dangerously close to making out with Elliot, who clearly has designs on Rita.

Meanwhile, Deb is hot on Trinity’s heels as a tribute to her beloved (and deceased) former paramour, Special Agent Frank Lundy. While showing the homicide department slides culled from Lundy’s collection, Deb focuses on the Trinity’s hammer bludgeoning in presenting the case to LaGuerta and company. She avoids referring to the killer as Trinity, narrowing her focus to the story that the victim was posed to point towards the smears of DNA-laden ash present at the crime scene and in the photos. One of Trinity’s bathtub kills makes it into Deb’s slide show and she’s forced to admit that she believes this is the work of a serial killer who has been engaging in this pattern for over 30 years and was a pet project of Lundy’s. LaGuerta is impressed and wants to turn this into a full-scale investigation. The downside is, Deb has to be removed from the case since she’s technically a victim of the killer’s crimes.

Not for long, however. She examines her wounds and realizes that the bullet wasn’t hit from an angle, but rather straight across. Stripping down to her bra and undies (and making the little guy’s day), Deb asks Masuka to give her the details on the bullet’s trajectory. Turns out, it wasn’t made by a six foot-plus, 60 year old white man with blue eyes, but rather someone closer to Masuka’s wee height. Deb is back on the case since it’s been decided that Trinity was not the one responsible for her wounding and Lundy’s demise.

Unless it’s a red herring, the build-up to “Who Shot Deb and Lundy” seems to be pointing to Quinn’s slam piece, shady news hound Christine, who will stop at nothing to get “a lead that bleeds” to keep her job in the ever-diminishing field of print journalism. Christine makes a non-booty call late night visit to a bleary-eyed Quinn’s, looking for some sort of a lead she can splash across the front of the paper and doing so under the guise of needing “moral support.” Peering over Quinn’s shoulder mid-hug, she sees paperwork on the DNA sweeps the homicide department is looking for a 50-ish retired white guy with blue eyes as the prime suspect in the Trinity case. She also sees that Miami’s finest will be conducting random DNA sweeps at checkpoints and doing a buccal swab on men fitting the description.

Christine leaves Quinn’s apartment with a story, but manages to get an even bigger story when she corners Deb who finally agrees to grant her an exclusive interview.

Quinn himself gets more of a backstory on Dexter from Masuka who innocently tells him about the psycho sexpot that was Lila and what a sex panther Dexter as before marrying Rita.

Speaking of sex panthers, Batista and LaGuerta do some late-night work on the case and can’t contain their department-forbidden passion any longer, to the point of compromising the structure of one of the desks in the office. At some point, these two will probably have a close call with Detective Matthews and have to explain themselves. .

Speaking of close calls, Arthur and Dexter narrowly manage to steer clear of a DNA checkpoint while returning from their male-bonding experience.

This week, V steps things up from the snail’s pace of last week’s episode, revealing more secrets and plot points regarding the Visitors. The resistance and its varying factions converge to help rebuild the Fifth Column, which is not a ‘70s singing group, but rather the name for the band of traitorous, human-sympathizer V’s. Ryan goes off in search of an old friend named Cyrus in hope of getting him to help rebuild the Fifth Column with him. Ryan finds out that Cyrus had done yet another 180 and is now turning V traitors in to Anna in an attempt to get back in her good graces and score some of the sweet substance known as “The Bliss” which all good Vs get. Ryan manages to avoid being turned in and reduces Cyrus to a pile of ash, leaving the V’s called to the scene to find a cryptic message on the wall: “John May lives.”

Another Fifth Column leader by the name of Georgie (don’t you dare call him “George”), has found himself tracked by Father Jack and doesn’t take too kindly to it. Father Jack eventually gets Georgie to come around and join with the human resistance to create a united front against the V’s.

Speaking of the Fifth Column, unfortunately for Dale Maddox, he is brought back to life by a V healer only to be put back down for a dirt nap again after giving the healer valuable information. After Dale remembers that it was Erica who had busted his human face wide open and saw his true face, the healer (actually a member of the Fifth Column) finds out that he has a new ally and sends Maddox off to green-blooded heaven with a syringe.

Erica, however, has been assigned to keep the peace and ward off an attack by a would-be attempt on Marcus (Anna’s head minion/assistant)’s life at an event celebrating the V’s getting their Visas, enabling them to go anywhere they want. Erica thwarts the assassin, but it turns out that (unbeknownst to her, or anyone else), the “assassin” was a plant as part of a plan to elicit sympathy for the V’s and further Anna’s agenda of getting humans to trust them. After subduing the “attacker,” Anna stumbles upon the V’s technology room with a seemingly endless array of screens. She also finds out that these screens receive their information by miniature cameras built into the V’s uniform jackets… Just like the one that her son Tyler has at home! Dun-dun-DUN!

Anna, it turns out, has had an elaborate plan to keep the V’s in the public eye. She even goes so far as to practice looking concerned, caring and offering her “heartfelt” condolences to the widow of a serviceman who died when the V’s landed. The widow, Mary Faulkner, had previously been at the forefront of the anti-V movement and was to speak at the V’s Visa Fest, but had been persuaded otherwise by Anna’s feigned kindness that the V’s are all sweetness and light. Anna’s mission to snow humanity continues to run on course!

Perhaps the biggest phase of Anna’s plan includes Erica’s son, Tyler. Still hot for Youth Ambassador Lisa, Tyler ends up getting back in her good graces and is allowed back. Lisa decides to tell him the happy news over pizza and heads back to Casa de Erica, sporting their matching V Youth Ambassador Letterman Jackets. Erica arrives home after a hard day of V wrangling and Tyler and Lisa ditch their jackets, and most of their clothes, leaving Erica to believe they were just about to get busy… Because that would be preferable to having her find out that her son is a V Youth Ambassador.

Lisa’s role in Anna’s master plan is revealed at the very end of the episode when Lisa informs Lisa informs Anna that she believes Tyler is “the one.” She also calls her “mother” and Anna tells her daughter (Yes! Daughter!) that she’s done very well. Looks like Tyler might not lose his “V-card” to Lisa after all, just probably end up fertilizing a colony of human/V-hybrid eggs. Poor, dopey kid!

Food Network personality and chef Guy Fieri has admitted that his dream is to star on Saturday Night Live.

The Next Food Network Star winner told AOL recently that he would like to appear on the late-night comedy show, despite it airing sketches mocking him.

“But always, as a dream as a kid I’ve always wanted to be on Saturday Night Live. So when they did the parody on me, that was the step. Oh my God, they recognized me! I am somebody!” says Fieri. Guy was played by actor Bobby Moynihan who was eaten by birds in a skit on the show.

He added: “Kinda like Steve Martin when his name was in the phonebook. So I don’t know, I’m fulfilling some dreams… and if they called I think that would be the crescendo of the career.”

The 46-year-old is currently promoting his next project, a cooking demonstration concert tour called The Guy Fieri Road Show.

This two-hour tour will combine a high-energy rock concert with some delicious food demos. Opening the show will be Australia’s own flair bartender Hayden “Woody” Wood. Woody will show guests how to shake up delicious drinks at home, while showcasing some of his bartending skills. Also appearing at The Guy Fieri Road Show is a still secret local chef – who do you think it is? Lastly, Guy will propel fans through the roof with an unscripted performance, complete with interactive food demos and all of the juicy behind the scenes stories you don’t want to miss.

Fieri is also celebrating the release of his second book: More Diners, Drive-ins and Dives: A Drop-Top Culinary Cruise Through America’s Finest and Funkiest Joints.

When asked what advice he would give to students attending culinary arts school, Fieri advocated starting with the basics.

“I know people want to be where I’m at, where Emeril is at, where Bobby (Flay) is at, but you’ve got to learn to play football before you play in the NFL,” he says. “The restaurant business is the toughest business I think there is. It takes endurance, problem solving, the ability to handle a big workload and stress. Work with people you admire, and don’t lie to yourself and say this is going to be an easy road.”
