That’s where Abbey and Jared come in!  You may remember this stunning couple from our engagement session back in the fall.

Close friends and family gathered in one of the upper keys of Islamorada, pronounced “aisle-a-more-AH-dah” … not to be confused with the pronunciation “isla-more-AH-dah” of which I was clearly corrected by one of the locals when we traveled down to Key West after the festivities.   The ceremony and reception was held outside  just before sunset at the pristine, colonial-style plantation house of  Pierre’s Restaurant.

Our couples retreat location was set amidst the infamous grounds of the Moorings Village which was once a coconut plantation!  This little private paradise was a dream to photograph amongst, with the aqua waters of the Atlantic setting the stage for our truly immaculate bride and groom.

We were soo happy to be a part of these glorious moments captured on camera;  and to have the opportunity to meet your amazing clan of family and friends, of which bonds were strengthened by bearing witness of this new commitment.  Congrats again you two!

It does help to know what makes eachother tick though, doesn’t it!  If you haven’t heard of the book “The Five Love Languages” it’s worth looking into. Congrats on your first Bernadette and John!  

My mother and I visited them in November… it was very very hot & humid, lots of mosquitoes (so small you cant see them), and plenty of stop and go traffic in the city.  On the much brighter side, there were beautiful beaches, sacred rainforests, the healing rays of the sun, culture, awesome Puerto Rican food, good people and company : ) Special thanks to my mom for taking me on this trip with her (love ya!). I’d have to say my favorite part was swimming under the waterfall after hiking in the rainforest… what a revitalizing treat that was!

The small log house was built in the 1800′s and still appeared to be in good shape!  There were plenty of photo ops that could be taken with the house alone… inside and out!  But with a large family to photograph… we had to keep the ball rolling.  With the sun setting on a picture perfect path, we just had to take advantage of what nature had laid out in front of us.

The best part of the day is knowing that we captured life as it is now… as we know it can change so incredibly fast.  Thank you Morgan, Vyto, Ryan, Sarah, Hayden, Adali, Bob, Natalie, Jim & Mo for inviting Satori to partake in your family’s record keeping!  And a special thanks to Jenni for helping assist : )

A couple side notes to our holiday shoot… check out Sharri’s cute new jacket with the brass buttons! Quite flattering I must say, and oh soo nutcracker-ish  ;)  Oh, and you may have noticed my killer letto’s … yes, they are gold, yes they SPARKLE and YES they were my wedding shoes that I try to bust out at every occasion I possibly can.  Well, only if of course I don’t need to actually be walking anywhere Hahaha, no they are not practical, but there goes that love/hate relationship thing again.

Anyhoo… Back to the Fa la la la la-ing !
