The iPhone 3GS is <a href="http://www.saudimac.com/2009/03/01/official-from-apple-iphone-3g-in-saudi-arabia-is-unlocked/">unlocked</a> and available with <a href="http://www.saudimac.com/2009/11/05/mobily-iphone-3gs-release-date-and-price/">3 postpaid bundles</a> (99, 299 and 399) and one prepaid bundle for each of the 3 models (iPhone 3G 8GB, iPhone 3GS 16GB and iPhone 3GS 32GB).</p>
<p>However the iPhone 3GS 299 and 399 bundles are only available for exclusive VIP (<a href="http://www.mobily.com.sa/wps/portal/Raqi">Mobily Raqi</a>) members. The same thing <a href="http://www.saudimac.com/2009/03/02/iphone-3g-with-mobily-only-for-vip/">happened with the iPhone 3G</a>, only the 99 bundle was available for &#8220;regular customers&#8221;.</p>
<p>To be eligible for a 399 iPhone 3GS bundle you <a href="http://twitter.com/aalshehri/status/5502056988">need</a> to be a postpaid member for at least 10 months and a minimum monthly bill of 800SR. <a href="http://www.etisalat.ae/iphone">Etisalat</a> and <a href="http://www.du.ae/en/mobile/iphone/iphone-2.html">du</a> in UAE do not have a similar restriction on iPhone 3G and 3GS bundles.</p>
<p style="text-align:center"><a href="http://www.saudimac.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/mobily-iphone-3gs-no-conditions-en.jpg"><img src="http://www.saudimac.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/mobily-iphone-3gs-no-conditions-en-222x231.jpg" alt="mobily-iphone-3gs-no-conditions-en" title="mobily-iphone-3gs-no-conditions-en" width="222" height="231" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2073" /></a></p>
<p>This is the bundle list from Mobily&#8217;s website. The page does not mention Raqi/VIP restrictions and the * at end where it says &#8220;conditions and terms apply&#8221; does not refer to anything because none of the bundles in that list have a * near it&#8217;s name. We have taken a screen shot just in case Mobily tries to change it. Bander (@Saudilawyer) is seriously considering <a href="http://twitter.com/Saudilawyer/status/5500959779">suing Mobily</a> for false advertising. The table also doesn&#8217;t clarify that the iPhone 8GB is an iPhone 3G.</p>
<p>We hope to see Mobily being more clean on who is eligible for their bundles. Please share your experience in the comments.</p>

We were told this information late Wednesday at 3 a.m but the web host had problems with our server and the site was down for the whole day.</p>
<p>Apparently the iPhone 3GS will be sold initially to the people who ordered the phone using the Mobily iPhone 3GS <a href="http://www.mobily.com.sa/wps/portal/iphone">order form</a> (which was taken down for a few days).</p>
<p style="text-align:center"><img src="http://www.saudimac.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/iphone-3g-s-450x182.jpg" alt="iphone-3g-s" title="iphone-3g-s" width="450" height="182" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2056" /></p>
<p>The prices are in the following chart:</p>
<p style="text-align:center"><a href="http://www.saudimac.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/iphone-3gs-mobily-bundles-en.jpg"><img src="http://www.saudimac.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/iphone-3gs-mobily-bundles-en-450x76.jpg" alt="iphone-3gs-mobily-bundles-en" title="iphone-3gs-mobily-bundles-en" width="450" height="76" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2063" /></a></p>
<p>We notice that Mobily did not provide an option for MMS messages.</p>
<p>As we <a href="http://www.saudimac.com/2009/03/01/official-from-apple-iphone-3g-in-saudi-arabia-is-unlocked/">said before</a> the iPhone from Mobily is officially unlocked as <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937">confirmed by Apple, Inc in this support document</a>. No matter what Mobily says, the iPhone 3GS is unlocked (unless that document is out of date, in that case <a href="http://www.citc.gov.sa/">CITC</a> will probably do something about it).
</p>
<p>Had to post it on my <a href="http://www.khaled.us/mobily-iphone-3gs-prices-and-release-date.html">site</a>, thanks <a href="http://www.shufflegazine.com/2009/11/05/iphone-3gs-arriving-in-saudi-arabia/">Shufflegazine</a> and <a href="http://www.apple-wd.com/2009/11/iphone-3gs-in-saudi/">Apple-wd</a> for linking back.</p>

<p>Mobily announced that they will be bring the iPhone 3GS to Saudi Arabia. Mobily made that announcement in an extremely short and vague press release that can be found on <a href="http://www.zawya.com/">Zawya</a>.</p>
<p>The press release stated that Apple and Mobily has &#8220;reached an agreement&#8221;, did it take them all these months just to reach an agreement? While in UAE, Mobily&#8217;s partner Etisalat will <a href="http://www.saudimac.com/2009/10/24/uae-etisalat-to-launch-iphone-3gs-27th-of-october/">release the iPhone 3GS this Tuesday</a>. The press released also mentioned that the iPhone 3GS will be &#8220;be available to qualifying customers&#8221; what defines qualifying customers? Finally it asks to visit <a href="http://www.mobily.com.sa/iphone">this page</a> for more info, however no info can be found on that page.</p>
