Target is best known for offering great design to guests through design collaborations, but this summer, we are bringing our design ethos to the Justice League. Through a partnership with Warner Bros., Target is introducing a summer collection of reimagined, retro-inspired Justice League merchandise.

Rather than relying on a major motion picture launch, Target’s product designers were inspired to put a unique twist on the Justice League superheroes after a visit to the Warner Bros. archives. Guests will find Wonder Woman featured in shades of pink and purple for the first time; traditional sand toys take new form as “City” shapes rather than “Castles,” and kids’ beach towels transformed into capes.

This summer collection, along with other traditional licensed merchandise, will span nearly every category, including home, stationery, sporting goods, toys, apparel and accessories with 100 exclusive items that can only be found at Target.

Good Day -

After a week of beautiful weather in the Northeast U.S., 70 degrees and sunny. I am moved to remind you about some safety stuff as we move into the outdoor weather season.

We all know now that our skin takes a lot of abuse and bounces back. From cuts to sunburns but, we can help it out a bit.

As I enjoyed the fine weather of the past week, I basked in the sun, not giving much thought to the sun that was warming my skin. Then I remembered, sunscreen. Yeah... it is not only a summer thing, when you are outside in the sunlight for more than a few minutes, sunscreen is a must. Something with a SPF of 30 at the minimum. Oh, and, it should have UV protection. I use Hawaiian Tropic Sport SunBlock 60+ SPF. And no, I do not get a stipend to hock sunscreen. Anyway, follow the instructions on the bottle, though, I tend to re-apply every 90 minutes or so.

To help your skin out as you age, and if you are out in the sun a bunch is to make sure you hydrate. That means plain water. You really do not need to spend much money on fancy bottled water. Most tap water from a municipal water supply is just fine, and avoid caffeine. I know... I know... that is the life force of most of us. Caffeine can age the skin and dehydrate you. Also, sports drinks... unless you are a pro athlete, you should avoid to many servings of those too. Plain water my friends, 8 to 10, 8 ounce cups a day. You would be surprised how it will make you feel and your skin will thank you for it.

Now that we covered your skin, don't forget your beautiful eyes. A good pair of sunglasses are worth your investment. Make sure that you get UV protection and polarization too. You will thank me for that polarization part. You want to try to get a pair that wrap around your head a bit, to protect sun from getting in on the side of the lenses.

While your at the drug store getting those items pick up some bug spray... or at least one of those bug bite sticks for after the bite if you don't enjoy wearing bug spray, like myself. Pesky flying bugs are fierce in the spring. You know, you could try this experiment. Take a dryer sheet, and put it under you baseball hat or hang it out of your back pocket. I understand bugs hate that smell. Let me know if you find that it works.

When Richard Hell started spiking his hair and holding his shredded T-shirts together with safety pins, later influencing the Sex Pistols, he certainly could never have guessed that one day his rebellious fashion statement would be on display in the stuffy Metropolitan Museum of Art. But it’s at PUNK: Chaos to Couture, the latest Costume Institute exhibition, where you’ll find him along with other famous punk rockers, as the show aims to pair up their DIY styles with the luxury clothing they inspired from designers including Hedi Slimane, Ann Demeulemeester, and Karl Lagerfeld. There will be seven galleries in all. Hell can be found in the CBGB gallery, naturally; Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood will have their own gallery, devoted to their famous Seditionaries boutique; and another, called “DIY hardware,” will explore the creative uses of spikes, studs, zippers, and chains. — By Angela Ashman

NEW YORK, NY, April 2013 – If there’s one season that lends itself best to brunch, it is spring. Made-for-brunch menu items such as asparagus and strawberries are at their peak, and with days getting longer and so many trees and flowers blooming, this is the perfect time to entertain friends and family with a lovely brunch. Lenox, America’s leading brand of fine and casual china, celebrated the launch of its new Alice Drew Collage collections by asking top interior designer Bella Mancini how she would create a springtime brunch starring this charming, decoupage-esque earthenware. Here, Ms. Mancini offers up 8 tips for putting some spring in your brunch:

1. START BY LAYERING TEXTURES

“Whenever I entertain buffet-style I love to mix textures and create a little tension between materials,” says
Mancini. The designer layered contrasting linens; a shimmery silk shantung base cloth with a linen runner
embellished with an organic pattern of tiny appliqué ruffles. American artist Alice Drew employs a similar play with patterns and color in her new Collage collections for Lenox. Ms. Drew mixed the patterns of brocade and damask fabrics with a mix of architectural details from Georgian homes and Turkish mosques. The collection encompasses three patterns, which may be mixed and matched: Collage Hummingbird, Collage Peony and Collage Butterfly.

2. USE ACCESSORIES FOR TABLE-SCAPING

Lenox offers a generous collection of coordinating Collage Hummingbird serving pieces. Mancini decided to
use them in unexpected ways. “I created a distinct area for food and drinks by using the large platter as a tray to create a foundation for the wine and water bottles, and for the food I used the tiered platters, footed bowls and tidbit plates to add varying height, silhouette and scale to the table-scape.” It is a fun way to invite guests to sample all of the many savory and sweet brunch treats and it creates an intentional, finished look.

3. EMBRACE CONTRASTS

Mancini thought it would be too obvious to choose a blue tablecloth to sit beneath the mainly blue
dinnerware, so instead she chose a happy salmon pink. The warm color had the effect of making the
dinnerware really pop. Also, you never need to feel your table linens have to match exactly from one table to
the next. For the dining table Mancini used a white vintage jacquard linen cloth and napkins and accented the
clean, fresh look with classic blue hydrangeas set into Lenox’s Adorn Crystal Rose Bowls.

4. ADD THEMATIC ACCENTS

“I try to add small, unexpected details to each party I throw,” notes the designer, who peppered in hand painted silk butterflies throughout. Adding three-dimensional winged creatures played up the hummingbirds
and butterflies on the Collage pattern. Ideas such as these make all the difference in bringing a theme to life.
Bella placed the butterflies on serving platters, tied them to blossoming quince branches, scattered them on
the tables, and topped off each of the party favor boxes. Butterflies are a huge trend this year, so you may
find many ways to add these beauties to your décor.

5. BRING IN SPRING WITH FRESH DETAILS

Another spring theme was carried through to cocktails. “To me pansies scream ‘spring’, and champagne
screams ‘a party,’” Bella laughs. She decided to marry the two by adding edible flowers to the Lenox Tuscany Classics Champagne Saucers. The graceful, vintage-style “coupe” shape of these glasses allows for a lush garnish. If you can’t find edible flowers at your market, try adding a fresh raspberry or blackberry to each glass.

6. DO SOMETHING SURPRISING

People may expect to see decorative bowls of fruit, or pitchers of drinks, but not pitchers of fruit. “I love the
elegant yet simple shape of these Lenox Tuscany Classics glass pitchers, but rather than use them for serving
drinks, I filled them with lively color via citrus fruits – lemons, clementines and limes,” says Mancini. Arranging these along with Lenox rose bowls filled with salmon tulips and blue hydrangeas brought intense color and life to the buffet.

7. OFFER TONS OF CHOICES

One of the best aspects of casual entertaining is that guests can make their own choices. Letting the menu
itself assist with the look of the buffet, Mancini chose Lenox Organics crystal pitchers to hold gorgeously
colored fresh squeezed juices. She achieved lively colors by choosing some more exotic flavors such as guava and passion fruit. Arranging all the beverage offerings together allows for guests to experiment with different combinations of juices, champagne, wine and sparking water – so you're really offering dozens of beverage choices.

8. PROVIDE THOUGHTFUL TOUCHES

Often with a buffet people graze rather than have just one plate, so you'll still want to offer additional clean
forks and spoons. Bella Mancini loved the shape of the Butterfly Collage coffee mugs, so she simply put forks in one and spoons in another alongside the plates on the buffet. The Lenox Portola flatware looked perfect with this dinnerware.

Happy spring everyone. It's the time of the year when most of us, at least in the northeast, start heading outdoors more regularly. With this migration from indoors to outdoors, here are a few things that I tend to do every spring. Hopefully it will give you a few ideas to make the outdoors in your life a bit better and safer.

1. Grass does, in fact, dull lawnmower blades. Whether you have the know how to do it safely yourself or have to bring the mover to a pro, change the mover blades, or at least have the sharpened. You lawn will look so much better for it.

2. Speaking of lawns, Go get some fertilizer and put it down before a spring rain storm.

3. With all the bad winter storms this past season, LOOK UP! Make sure that no broken branches are still hanging in the trees around your property, especially where you congregate for the family and friends BBQs.

4. Here are a couple things to get when you go to that lawn and garden store for the fertilizer and mower blades. For under $25 an item, here are some things I get every year. An "A-B-C" fire extinguisher or two. They usually run around $20 each and I put on in the shed and keep one near the grill and fire pit. A new first aid kit. They come in all sizes with all kinds of different stuff in them. I have a pretty big one in my house that I replenish. But, there are a few you can get for about $10 each, and I hang then in the shed, and by the pool also I throw one in the car. Replacement pull string for obvious yard equipment. If you don't already have them, jumper cables are always good to have around too.

5. Sign the family up for a CPR & first aid class. A simple google search will find one in your area, they usually are 4 to 8 hours and make a good family bonding day.

6. Don't for get to get new sunscreen and uv protection + polarized sunglasses.

Those are just a few tips. Hope you all have a healthy and happy spring and summer season!

Why Is Dating Difficult ???

Why is dating difficult??? A rule book should exist to let everyone know how to do it and how to do it right. If everyone followed a few rules of dating it might be a little easier. Dating does not need to be difficult... we make it that way.

Here are a few rules I have established to navigate through dating.

Should be obvious but don't date unless you are looking for a relationship. This is dating 101... dates are great and making a new friend is great. The truth is if dating is not leading into a relationship it is kind of pointless time spent. Only the emotionally stable and those who are seeking a relationship should date. If this is not what you are looking for and you want to make new friends. You are going and hanging out with a friend, not on a date. Keep the two ideas separate.

On a date, never open your x files. Keep the x talk to an extreme minimum. Basically stating yes I have an x and that is all. Nothing is worse than listening to someone you are interested in ramble on and diagnosis the ghosts of relationships past for hours at a time.

Do not and I repeat whatever you do... don't discuss your million friends of the opposite sex. Nothing is more questionable and rather annoying than when someone goes on and on about all the people of the opposite sex they speak to in a day. Makes you kind of feel as if you are just one in a sea of countless numbers.

Never and I mean never have sex before a relationship is established. It is so easy for somebody to say they are "seeing you exclusively" however, what does that really mean??? Let me tell you exactly what that means... if you have sex under this title guess what.... you just fell into the one night stand trap. If they are serious about wanting to be with you, they will wait until you are both ready to be in an "exclusive relationship."

Invest the time but don't waste your time. You meet someone... you have great conversations and enjoy spending time together. The problem is when you realize you have had a million virtual, electronic or phone conversations and one face to face interaction within a month. Now you have slipped into the friend zone. If you are "dating" someone and you are not physically seeing them at least once a week, call it a friendship and realize they are not that into you. If someone is into you, they will make time for you regardless of how busy they are. Even if it is for coffee at 6am. They will make the time.

Dating does not need to be difficult sometimes we all make it more complicated. If you meet someone and you have common denominators, take the risk. Move on to a relationship because good people are hard to find, so when you find them. Lock them down or else someone else will.

Dating by definition is a brief span of time to get to know someone. If you like what you see within thirty days, take the leap and don't miss out on the opportunity of someone that is amazing. Dating is not meant to be a long term situation.

Dating and relationships are all about chance encounters. You never know when you are going to meet your perfect match. Yes it can be a scary situation but it also may be completely worth it in the end.
