HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A new year is upon us and by God’s grace we’ve seen His awesome provision in 2025 and pray Saved By God’s Grace will continue to serve Him fully in 2026.

Saved By God’s Grace was certainly busy this past year and I wanted to take this time to update you on much of what’s been happening, all by God’s provision through YOU!

Please note this is NOT a complete list, but an overview of the various ways in which God’s love is shown to families, orphans, single mothers, elderly and individuals throughout Kenya.

2025 had Saved By God’s Grace building 15 homes. Families were given a safe, secure space to call home and live comfortably, out of the elements.

Thank you for your financial assistance in bringing smiles to individuals in obtaining their new home.

Saved By God’s Grace (again through your financial support) helped 30 students get through another year of education (primary/secondary). Eight kids are in college and eight students have graduated from college/university/trade school.

What a blessing to all these students to help them obtain their education, helping them to become productive, active members of Kenyan society.

Ben Msandu, shown here with a student, works diligently in bringing students, families, orphans and/or single moms to this ministry for assistance. Your continued financial giving is a blessing not only to the ministry but also to each individual that is helped through it.

Approximately 110 grandmother’s attend a monthly Gospel meeting. They are served a hot meal while praise and worship is sung then they have a Bible study lead by Faith Ngugi. They are then given about 2 weeks worth food to take home with them.

When a medical program is announced, the community comes out in numbers. With your assistance Saved By God’s Grace can continue to expand these programs when needed.

Medical assistance was given to 20 individuals.

Many HIV/AIDS victims were assisted with medication and food.

Throughout the year Saved By God’s Grace completed 4 jigger removal campaigns at schools around Kenya.

600 school uniforms were purchased!

Saved By God’s Grace also assisted in tutoring programs throughout the year. These are organized by Peter Mwangangi.

At each and every one of these programs, God is glorified and given all glory for His provision!

Your faithful giving continues to be used by God to bring glory to His name and to show our brothers and sisters in Kenya the love of Christ.

Kids are growing up!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a blessing to see these young children, now grown and in high school for one more year. By God’s grace they will then all be going on to college!! What a blessing God gave me in watching these sweet boys (not all the time because after all they are boys!!) grow up and be a part of their young lives.

Big (and little) doings!

Proud mama moment….one of our kids in Kenya has gotten married. We met Chris way back in 2009 or so. Saved By God’s Grace helped him (along with a sponsor) get through primary, secondary and tertiary education! He has grown into a fine young man and a productive member of Kenyan society….thank you God!

Chris isn’t our first Kenyan kid to get married but thought I’d share anyway, I hope Chris and his beautiful wife, Lilian, don’t mind. I pray God blesses their marriage and they will seek His guidance and wisdom throughout their life. Congratulations Lilian and Chris!

Junior, Gloria and Frank are heading back to school.

Impoverished families are told they MUST pay for their desk before going to school. This is on top of school fees (I’m talking primary education here…not college!), mandated uniform, gym uniform and lunches, along with books and school supplies.

Maybe you think your donation isn’t doing much, or that it seems nothing is changing….I’m here to tell you that is incorrect thinking!

Every donation is used in some way to help our neighbors and brothers and sisters in Kenya who are in need. Thank you doesn’t seem enough but it’s what we have to give you…

This is just one story where a life was changed because of your donation. Each person is not only assisted with physical needs (food, water, medical, education, etc.) but they are told of the love of God.

So you see, your donation is enlarging the Kingdom of God…one person at a time…Praise God!

I wish that could be the result in every story we meet…success and glory to God. But without funding, assistance can’t always be given. Ben, our partner in Kenya, told us about this situation:

Yesterday, i was able to hear Eliud’s mother’s story.

Things are tough for her, she doesn’t have a job and to make matters worse she is pregnant. She says there was a day last year in August when a gang of 5 men attacked them in the dead of the night with pangas (machete’s) threatening to kill her and her two sons, the gang demanded cash from her, but finding out that she had nothing…they gang raped her resulting to her current condition. The place where they stay is still risky even though they have been given a notice to vacate the house by 28/1/2023. The son is very excited to start secondary school and hopes that one day he will come rescue his mother and siblings.

As mentioned earlier, your donations go to families like these. We are continually discerning how to best use your generous giving and by God’s Grace He continues to bless many individuals and families in Kenya, through your assistance.

New year…new opportunities

Welcome 2024!!!

As we move into a new year Saved By God’s Grace wants to first thank you for making 2023 a blessed year for many in Kenya! Hundreds of people were assisted with food, shelter, medical, education and the love of God was shared to one and all…thank you!

This new year brings another chance to tell the Good News to others through our actions.

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40

I guess that’s where this blog post comes in, to share an opportunity with you.

Emma is one of the children Saved By God’s Grace has been assisting since she was in primary school (that’s her pictured above in her primary school uniform). She recently graduated from high school and is now moving into tertiary education. Emma doesn’t have a sponsor and therefore we are asking for any assistance you can give.

Whether a full sponsorship or a one time donation to help offset costs…here’s the breakdown:

$1000 one time, up front donation to cover her first year of education and whatever shopping the school requires (books, personal items, etc.)
$70/monthly – starting now, this would help cover the 1/3 portion that Saved By God’s Grace assists with. Saved By God’s Grace requires the kids moving into tertiary commit to a 1/3-1/3-1/3 program where we come up with 1/3 the cost of education (that’s where the sponsorship comes in), 1/3 from the Higher Education Loan Board in Kenya, and 1/3 from the students fundraising (family, church, etc.).

Praises for a beautiful Christmas

You will be bombarded with photos this post…sorry, not sorry!

God worked wonders through your generous donations this Christmas holiday and many were blessed by it, I pray you were as well (or will be after seeing what’s been happening).

The food distribution, for a special Christmas meal, was a huge success, thank you.

Unfortunately, with such great need, some had to leave with nothing to take home.

Ben (our partner on the ground in Kenya) tells us:

Today we were able to give a few in another community, some missed the unga (flour) and the pain was evident.

The boy was extremely happy today knowing that this Christmas they will have plenty of Chapatis in their house and won’t be begging other kids.

This woman was about to be kicked out of her home but Saved By God’s Grace paid her past rent and helped with her future rent. Ben says, “the smile tells it all…Glory to Jesus.”

Gifts for Ben!

I (Ben) was able to help Ashley, a widow. Her biggest headache had been house arrears and rent. Food is also a big challenge…they go empty most of the days ..they even don’t know what they will be eating this Christmas…but they are very grateful that we helpers them with house rent and arrears. My prayer is that sometime next year we consider helping them if the Lord provides. They sleep on the plastic carpet which makes the kids sick more often. The big kid hasn’t started school because the mother can’t raise the Ksh 2000 needed. They say everyone seems to have abandoned them…

The kids brighten up today… thanks for giving them great hope. Glory to our heavenly father.

Smiles for new beds for Christmas!

Mitchell (the girl in the photo) says, “I want to drink Fanta orange soda this Christmas….it will make me and my brothers happy“

This is part of what i (Ben) have been doing. This is Rose, a mother of three kids. Mitchell is the little girl seated next to her and her first born child. Mitchell seems traumatised by her bedridden mom’s condition and she is the one who has to go looking for food and basics in a world where no one seems to care.

And by the way, they got Fanta for Christmas, along with other, substantial, assistance.

This little girl was so happy to receive unga (flour) for Christmas. This means they could make chapati, a very special treat, for the family on Christmas.

This young girl was excited to receive a new bed for Christmas!

We are in agreement with this lady’s sentiment…THANK YOU!

The whole village is happy and talking about God’s visiting this family that had already been written off. They say there was no way the family would build a house etc. This indeed was a very needy family…here is their pit latrine that also doubles as a bathing point…

One happy little girl because of your assistance this Christmas!

Praise God for the blessings He has bestowed on us all….the birth of our Savior that we just celebrated (and really, shouldn’t we celebrate that all year long!?) By your generous support many families were given food and shelter AND the love of God was shared to all involved.

Saved By God’s Grace is continuing to bless families with food and bedding this Christmas season…actually we do this consistently throughout the year. With your generous donations at Christmas time we are able to help even more families.

This family received new beds, mattresses and blankets….look at those smiling faces who now have a warm, safe place to sleep!

Flour was handed out so families could have a special meal for the holiday.

I think he’s anxious for that special meal! He’s more than willing to carry this for mom…bless his heart and may God bless our wonderful donors!

When was the last time your child was this excited over bread? This video both breaks and warms my heart.

My prayer is that donations to Saved By God’s Grace will continue so that physical needs can be met and the love of God can be shared through that action.

Families are helped

This is one of Claire’s young daughters. Claire is a single mom with three daughters. Her husband is a pastor and left Claire with the girls saying “she is cursed because she’s only had girls.” Since the “pastor” said this the village is unwilling to get involved…that’s where Saved By God’s Grace comes into action.

Ben, our partner on the ground in Kenya, was able to negotiate payment for her back rent and the landlord was willing to accept half…praise God! Then we paid her rent for 6 months going forward. Beds were purchased, along with food, mattresses and bedding.

These are the families receiving assistance because of your donations!

Rose is another single mother of three children. Rose has been struggling with a leg problem. She hadn’t received any treatment but we were able to get a doctor to come and begin treating her. Rose lives with an elderly woman who doesn’t charge her rent but she and her children have been sleeping on the cold floor. Saved By God’s Grace purchased mattresses and food for them and is paying the medical fees.

Moving into this Christmas season we are looking to help as many families as possible with a special Christmas meal…the number of families we assist will depend on the donations received. God continues to work in Kenya!

Hello….we’re still here! Wow has it been a crazy year but through it all God continually uplifted the ministry and allowed us to be His hands and feet in Kenya.

Unfortunately I’ve had some website issues and lost about a years worth of blog posts. But God is still good and I trust those posts are where they need to be!

Below are just a couple examples of what’s been happening throughout the year.

Edward was one of the children we assisted from another children’s home. That home was corrupt so those children came to us where we began taking care of them. Here Edward is being ordained as a pastor! His sponsor helped him through secondary school and college and now here he is all grown up! During those years there were hard times but by God’s grace and his sponsors commitment Edward is now a productive citizen of Kenya and spreading the Word of God!

One of our areas we help is with bedding. This assistance helps adults and children receive a bed, mattress and bedding in order to sleep in comfort and not on dirt floors.

Housing is another big area we give assistance. Partnering with local businesses or churches we share in the burden of getting materials and labor costs covered to help families feel secure in a safe environment.

Comfort Self Help Group is an on-going food assistance program we continue to support. This group, run by Faith seen in the photo, gives grandmothers and grandfathers a hot meal, Bible study and food to take home for a few days. Many of these elderly walk miles just to get to this group once a month.

Another area we assist in is with medical. Honestly many of the photos we get are gruesome to say the least and many of the people we help have very little hope for a better life. But by God’s grace He allows us to give what assistance we can, show Jesus’ love to them, hold their hand, pray with them and offer the only Hope for eternity that is found in Jesus Christ. What better gift to give than the hope for Heaven!?

Again, I ask your forgiveness for being absent for so long but I want you to know that your support is continuing the work God set before us all those years ago. Saved By God’s Grace continues to feed the hungry, help the sick, visit the homebound, educate the youth and above all else share the ultimate gift of salvation found through faith in Jesus Christ.

Saved By God’s Grace wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

This year has been our hardest hit, financially and as we come to the last of 2022 we ask for your prayerful consideration to Saved By God’s Grace in your year end giving.

Although we’ve had tough times, as we all have, by God’s Grace we have kept our kids in school…thank you! We’ve not been able to do many extra projects but as we’ve said before, we do what we can with what God provides.

Recently our grandmothers, and a few grandfathers, were blessed with a hot meal, Bible study and some food items to take home. I pray these beautiful faces bless you, knowing that through your sacrificial giving the Love of Christ has been show to many in Kenya.
