I'm so sorry for the late post! I plum forgot to post this yesterday when I had planned. Just want to share the last four pages of this fun themed album with you.

Just a simple design here with a large panel on the left and a solid "base" across both pages. Easy to add 4x6 photos, as well as a few 2x2 closeups.

This fun title was cut to match using the Life Is A Beach Cricut cartridge and cardstock.

Another simple design using strips of paper. The outer corners are rounded, making it feel more like a single mat.

I curved part of the title around the corner of a picture, mimicking the rounded corners of paper.

I'm back today with part 4 of my daytrip album. Before I get on with the pictures and info, I want to make sure that you know that some of these items get discontinued in just a few days. The Seaside Workshop on the Go will be leaving, and the Paper Fundamentals are changing from the current geometric patterns to a more doodle-like look. Here is today's first layout:

Seriously, is there anything cuter than penguins? I found a fun way to add more pattern to this layout using just cardstock. I cut a full size overlay using the Cricut Artbooking cartridge, and turned it upside down from the way it's shown in the handbook so it looks like waves. I also added some ink distressing in Desert Sand, to tone down the Lagoon a bit and tie it in with the papers from the kit some more.

I made the fun title with the Keyboard Alphabet stamps and patterned paper letters cut using the Artiste Cricut cartridge.

The paper strips make a nice base for the photos to "sit" on. I cut the border embellishments from the same pattern paper as the title letters, using the Artistry Cricut cartridge. I added a few sequins for interest.

Here's a great way to use large photos and keep your layout balanced. This sketch from Scrapbook Generation uses a large panel and connected strips across the bottom to add weight to the single picture and really place the focus there. It nicely balances the simple grouping of photos on the opposite corner of the layout.

I used the Paper Fundamentals for a subtle pattern on the large panel - it pairs nicely with the multi-color pattern on the strips. The title uses only a portion of a stamp image from the kit, as well as the Keyboard Alphabet again. A grouping of sequins again adds some interest.

More stickers from the Complements, plus a few embellishments, make a fun little scene below the focal point photo.

Hello and welcome back for part 3 of my daytrip album! Today I'm going to share two more 2-page layouts with some tips for tying things together. The first one has my favorite pictures from our day out:

I used a sketch from Scrapbook Generation with one of my favorite design ideas - that big main panel that stretches across the center seam. It's a great way to use a paper with a large design so it doesn't overwhelm the photos. Since most of it is hidden behind the photos, you get a perfect taste of it. Also notice that I used Hollyhock (pink) cardstock for my page bases this time. It's a minor color in the paper pack, but really enhances those jellyfish pics!

I did alter the sketch slightly to give all of those strips some banner ends. It's just a little more interesting than straight edges here and gives some more sense of movement.

Even thought the pictures are only jellyfish, I made all of my embellishments a general sea theme. It coordinates more with the papers, and it ties them in to their natural environment as opposed to the aquarium.

All of my shapes are cut from the Artistry Cricut cartridge. I used the Artisan Studs for eyes so the metal would tie in with the metal embellishments in the Seaside Collection.

This cool octopus and stamped sentiment make a third embellishment for a visual triangle on the layout.

Here's another layout based on a sketch! Instead of a large circle shown in the sketch, I cut a fun sun shape with the Cricut.

More fun ideas for replacing plain strips of paper in a sketch - angled cuts and borders cut or punched are a fun alternative. I also made a title grouping using a variety of stickers from the Seaside Complements.

Another little grouping of embellishments using stickers, stamps, and more.

And the third grouping to finish the visual triangle - the design nerd in me just loves this stuff!

Hello and welcome back for part 2 of my daytrip scrapbook! If you missed part 1, you can find it here. I have more pages to share today that are super easy to put together and use one of my favorite products.

The background on this is super easy, using just strips that go all the way across both pages. You may notice from my shiny picture that these pages are already in their sheet protectors, and my favorite product is why.

Flip Flaps are an AWESOME way to add more pictures to any layout without looking crowded and without having to crop them down. I used the 4x6 size on this layout to add a few more pictures that I couldn't really crop and definitely wanted to include.

The title was easy to make using a stamp from the WOTG kit that I trimmed to size. I echoed the banner shape with the Shimmer Trim peeking out from behind. Adding a few Complements stickers and embellishments makes it more of a focal point,

In this grouping, I added a metal embellishment from the Seaside Assortment in the WOTG for some added interest. Creating three areas of interest on your layout creates a visual triangle that helps your eye move around the page.

Ever have one of those days where you take so many pictures they need their own album? Yep, I thought so. For me, it was a trip to Shedd Aquarium with my girls.

I don't normally buy the "beachy" theme supplies because we don't get to a beach much, but I thought the Seaside products from Close To My Heart would be perfect for this album. I didn't want to overbuy and have leftovers, so I only bought the Workshop on the Go kit plus the Seaside Complements, and combined them with regular cardstock, Paper Fundamentals, and general accessories & stamps. I also used several Cricut cartridges.

Today I want to share my title page and end page with you. I'll share more pages over the next week or so, so be sure to come back and check them out too!

I actually made the title and end pages last, but wanted to share them first because there are some really good tips here for using up those leftover bits of everything.

First of all, use those biggest scraps for a focal area for your picture. Skinnier bits are perfect for banners, strips, and circles. If you have enough of something left, you can cut a fab title with the Cricut (I used the font from Artfully Sent). Otherwise, you can always stamp a title directly on your page base.

To embellish, I used an assortment of items. Here I used Cricut cuts from Artistry, combining some with stamps that come with the cartridge as well as this month's Stamp of the Month. I also sprinkled Sequins and Aqua Dots throughout the album.

Some of the images, including this one stamped with the Seaside WOTG stamp set, are popped up on 3-D Foam Tape for added dimension.

Here's another option for leftover strips. Just line them up like soldiers and add a top & bottom border to make it look finished.

This title sticker from the Complements was perfect for my final picture. Whatever option you use for a title on this type of layout, you want to put it on a solid "plaque" shape like this. It helps to ground the title on the various patterns of the strips.

A second solid shape is good for journaling if you have it, or in my case a secondary title. Add a scattering of embellishments for fun and continuity with the rest of the book.

Hello and welcome to the Artistry blog hop! You are sure to get loads of ideas for this awesome new Cricut cartridge so be sure to stick around. If you've come here from Priscilla's Paperie, or if you are just starting out, you are in the right place.

Artistry comes with three beautiful stamp sets, and a Cardstock Combo pack. You can see them all in the photo at the bottom of the post.

There are so many great cuts on this cartridge it was hard for me to choose what to focus on. But since I have a ton of cat pictures I haven't scrapped, I decided to use (mostly) the cuts on page 10 of the handbook, along with the font.

I used papers, Shimmer Trim, and stamps from the Zoe Workshop on the Go, adding some extra Slate cardstock. I will say that if I had to do it over again, I would add a solid white circle behind the yarn ball so it looks more like yarn (and less like a volleyball, lol) because of its size. Other than that one little thing, I am super happy with how this turned out!

Can I just say how much I love these cat silhouettes? I especially love this tone-on-tone look, and will definitely be using that again. A little ink sponged on the edges really helps define the images! I also like the fun "hole free" font - it lends a whimsical touch to any project.

Banners are a nice way to add color and texture, and fill in when you have a little too much white space. I added more Shimmer Trim some Red Enamel Hearts for a little for interest (and because I love my furbabies).

The "one happy day" paper is a zip strip from one of the papers. I used the matching one on the other page, but hid the words under the ball of yarn. I used stamps from the WOTG for "FUN &" and used the font on Artistry for "FUR" to match. The green shape can be found on page 1 of the Artistry handbook. More Shimmer Trim and a Red Enamel Heart tie this in with the other elements on the page.

Hello and welcome to the August Stamp of the Month blog hop! I'm super excited to see everyone's posts this month because we all have some brand spankin' new products available to use with these versatile stamps. I had a lot of fun with this set of 12 stamps, and I didn't even use all of them. I have a feeling that most of my fellow consultants are using the new Zoe line this month, but I chose to focus on our new Cricut cartridge and one of the gorgeous new colors of cardstock that now comes in the Cricut collection. I used them along with a few existing accessories and the Wishes how-to book to make a beautiful set of 8 cards. I used one of the workshops in the book, but only made one of each card design instead of two.

Isn't that new Peacock cardstock gorgeous? I paired it with Lagoon CS and ink, black ink, and the Quatrefoil embossing folder for this card. I love how beautiful simple cards can be! I used some Thin 3-D Foam Tape on the central design, making it super easy to mail.

NOTE: While the new cardstock colors (8 of them all together!) are available as part of the Cricut Artistry Collection now, they are not available for separate purchase until September 1. Coordinating ink pads are also not available until September 1.

For this card, I stamped the base with an image from one of the stamp sets that comes in the Artistry Cricut collection. I used Lagoon ink and second generation stamping. I also added some Silver Shimmer Trim.

For this card, I used the Dot embossing folder and sanded the raised dots with the sanding block. I used the frame stamp to make a background on my center panel. I used small Aqua Dots in the corners of the center panel.

For this card, I used the Chevron embossing folder. This time, I only lightly sanded the raised lines for a distressed look. The sentiment panel is again popped up on Thin 3-D Foam Tape.

I again used the Dots embossing folder for this card, and layered Silver Shimmer Trim under the narrow strip of Lagoon CS.

This gorgeous Christmas card is my favorite! I love the alternative color scheme. I used the Damask embossing folder and Silver Shimmer Trim. Definitely a case of less is more.

This card shows you can make a card with impact even with scraps. I used the Chevron embossing folder and Silver Shimmer Trim. I popped the sentiment up with Thin 3-D Foam Tape and added some Aqua Dots for interest.

You may know by now that the new Close To My Heart catalog will not be live until September 1. I purchased the Zoe Workshop on the Go, which comes with a stamp set and embellishments, plus a pattern booklet to create a 2-page layout and inspiration for a possible second one. I actually didn't use any of the embellishments on this layout, but I did use the stamp set - in fact, the stamp set inspired my entire layout! I did, however, add a sheet of Canary cardstock, and some Black Arrow washi tape.

"Sunshine" and "makes me happy" are both from the stamp set. As soon as I saw them I knew what I wanted my title to say (thank you John Denver), and how I wanted to design my layout. I cut the sun and the word Shoulders with the new Cricut Artistry cartridge. I stamped the phrases from the stamp set directly on my layout, and I made "stickers" with the Keyboard Uppercase stamp set (I'm SO happy this stamp set was not discontinued after all!).

Here's that fun washi tape, along with the pattern paper from Zoe. The green stripe is actually the zip strip from one of the papers! I used the heart image from the stamp set and some foam tape to make simple embellishments, and I added the "fun" stamp here.

I also used the dashed lines stamp to make journaling lines, using a frame mask the size I wanted my journaling area to be.

I really can't wait to play with both of these new products more this month! I promise I'll share my projects with you here too. I would love to hear what you think of my layout before you go!

What kid doesn't love a birthday party? All three of mine love a party, and this mom loves to document them! I think the Confetti Wishes line from Close To My Heart is great whether you have a boy or girl celebrating. Here are a few examples of birthday layouts I made using the paper pack, complements, and assortment.

This layout is really just a large photo mat backed by strips of the various patterned papers. The title and embellishments are complements stickers.

I based this layout on a sketch from one of CMTH's Make It From Your Heart pattern books. The title is cut from the Cricut Artbooking cartridge, the tag is a complements sticker, and the other embellishments are from the Confetti Wishes assortment. I added a fiber from my stash to the journaling tag.

This is a "boy" version using squares and strips of the pattern paper, a Cricut cut title from Artbooking, and complements stickers.

Here's another "boy" version. I used another title cut with the Cricut Artbooking cartridge, and more complements stickers.

I've shown this fun layout before. In addition to the paper pack, I stamped some pattern paper using a former stamp of the month set. I also added a title and embellishments made with the same stamp set. Note: while this particular stamp set is no longer available, there are several other sets perfect for birthdays on the website. Look in the Occasions stamp category for ideas!

I did add a few sheets of cardstock from my basic supplies for page bases. But even after all of these fun layouts, I still have some decent scraps of paper left, as well as a few embellishments from the assortment and some complements stickers. Perfect for making any birthday cards we need in the next little while.

Life is Wonderful! - July SOTM Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamp of the Month blog hop for July! This month's stamp set is Life is Wonderful, a set of 8 stamps that would be totally at home on a card, a scrapbook page, or home decor. If you've arrived here from Krista Hershberger's blog, or if you're just starting out, you're in the right place! We'll continue around the circle until you get back where you started.

I particularly love the look of the chalkboard technique with these stamps, so I chose to use that on a scrapbook page. I used a sketch from the Reflections book for my design.

While you can certainly create a chalkboard look with other ink colors, I love the simplicity of the white. It also looks particularly striking on the black cardstock when used in a monochromatic project like this. I added two Cricut cuts from the Artbooking cartridge, and stamped a border using the arrow stamp and Topiary ink.

I used a masking technique to leave a gap in the frame, rather than have it stamp through the "wonderful" image.

I had some time this week to play with the Ice Cream Dream stamp set again. This time I made a fun layout from my son's birthday. (Just click to see it larger.)

I used the Confetti Wishes paper pack, and I made an additional pattern paper by stamping the various ice cream images in coordinating colors on white cardstock. I based my layout on a sketch.

I also used the ice cream images to create paper piecings with some fun added color. I then stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and created a banner for my title.

I also paper pieced the ice cream truck and the puppy dog, using pens to color in his tongue and nose. I added some 3-D Foam Tape on some pieces for added dimension.

Hello an welcome to June's stamp of the month blog hop! This month's stamp set is Ice Cream Dream, a set of 7 fun stamps that I can't wait to use on all kinds of projects. If you've come here from Judy Burger's blog, or if you're just starting out, you are in the right place. Just hop around our approximately 50 participating blogs until you're back where you started.

For my first project with this stamp set, I made a birthday card for my ice-cream loving 14-year-old daughter. It was perfect, since we planned to give her money this year.

I used the Bokeh technique for the background (more on that at the end), and simply stamped the sentiment in black on it. On a scrap of White Daisy, I stamped the ice cream cone twice using Black pigment ink. I gave it a quick blast with my heat gun to make sure it was completely dry before coloring it with my alcohol markers. (I used Copic markers, but if you are looking for a more economical option, our ShinHan markers are a great alternative!)

After coloring the ice cream of one image and the cone of the other image, I cut them out. I cut the entire image with the cone colored, and only the ice cream of the other image. I mounted the ice cream on the cone using thin 3-D foam adhesive. I then applied Liquid Glass to the surface of the ice cream and, while still wet, sprinkled on some chunky gold glitter to make it look a bit like her favorite Drumsticks.

I mounted my background on a black mat, then a Gypsy mat, then on to the card base. Once the Liquid Glass on the ice cream cone was dry, I adhered it to the background using more thin 3-D foam adhesive.

stamp pads in 2-3 colors for background
white pigment ink stamp pad
sponge daubers
circle templates in various sizes - you can make your own using stiff plastic from product packaging and some circle punches (or a Cricut, etc.)

Step 1 - use sponge daubers and your colored stamp pads to randomly place colors on the white cardstock. Let dry or blast with a heat gun.

Step 2 - Using the circle templates and a sponge dauber, sponge the white pigment ink randomly on the background. Be sure to overlap some and run some off the edges for a natural look. Let dry or blast with a heat gun.

That's it! Can you believe how easy that is?!

Hello and welcome to our new product blog hop! CTMH has just released the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog, and it is full of some great new products. If you've arrived here from Kelly Janes' blog, or if you're just starting out, you're in the right place! Just continue hopping along until you end up back where you started, and prepare to be inspired by over 40 talented consultants.

The first set of items I couldn't wait to order from this catalog are the Jackson paper pack and complements. They have a nice rugged outdoor feel, and I couldn't wait to put them to work on pictures from last year's trip to South Dakota.

The adhesive complements make it super easy to create a fun layout in a short amount of time.

This title was whipped up quickly using two adhesive complements, stacked. Note that I trimmed the ends of the zip strip directly above it to mimic the banner shape of the title and tie it in to the rest of the layout.

I used one of the included complements to journal, and I used three small medallion complements to build some page accents. I simply cut a coordinating shape from a shade of Teal Glitter Paper, using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, and a slightly larger one from Barn Red cardstock. I finished each accent off with an adhesive sequin from the Oceanside Sequins pack.

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month blog hop! This month's stamp set is Typed Note, a set of 19 stamps with a vintage feel, and a message for any occasion. If you've arrived here from Donna Digby's blog, or if you're just starting out, you're in the right place!

I made a couple of different cards for this month:

I just love these stamps! I can't wait to use them on a scrapbook layout too, but they are perfectly suited to cards for anyone.

This monochromatic card has a slightly more masculine feel, which you can up even further by choosing a slightly darker color. I chose this Crystal Blue pattern from the Paper Fundamentals Whimsy Assortment because the pattern has a slightly Art Deco feel that pairs well with the vintage stamp designs. The simple metal embellishments and black matting enhance the vintage and masculine look.

This more feminine version retains the black matting on the stamped image, with a much narrower border on the pattern paper made by drawing an alcohol marker along the edge of the paper. I used accessories from the Black Mini-Medley Accents, a Purple Glitter Gem, and some paper flowers from my stash.
