Random Thoughts & Catching Up....

I think this is the longest my blog has ever gone without a post from me. I warned you'll that this may happen during this pregnancy - so for those of you who are still checking in, i'm here - just really busy!

The past 3 weeks have been filled with at least one person in the house not feeling well. Started with the hubs, then went to the bug. They both battled some viral funk that finally resulted in nasty sinus infections for both. I was thrilled though because that meant that they could both finally need an antibiotic which would put an end to the two weeks of suffering & at least one person waking me up in the middle of the night needing me! It took both of them about 4 days on the antibiotic to start to really perk up.

We traveled to visit my husband's Nannie for her 90th birthday. We had a lovely visit with her and are so thankful we are able to spend the time with her. She's pretty feisty & in great health for 90. She actually has an aunt who will be 105 this May!

One of my worst ailments of this pregnancy is that I have a sensitivity to the heat indoors and in vehicles. It just sucks every last bit of moisture out of my sinuses and leaves them burning & bleeding. It's not pleasant. I've basically not been able to exist without a humidifier since November. The traveling last weekend, 3 hours each way in the car, really put a hurting on my sinuses and I can finally say that today is the first day that I am feeling back to normal in a week. I think I need to invent a mask where I just breath in humid air at all times! lol! Sad. I am really wishing away this winter & truly cannot wait until the weather warms up & we don't need to run the heat any longer. (Not to mention that I am basically freezing my family out of house & car with the lowest possible temp settings we can be comfortable on.)

The highlight of our week was this:

Our sweet peek at our littlest one at my 21 week ultrasound. Baby looked perfect & wonderful! We are team green over here. Didn't find out with Lyla either. I think the baby has the same sweet overbite that Lyla has and that just makes me melt. I love her little chin & I eat all over it all the time!

My big project now is stocking up on diapers & wipes! I am a big Pampers diapers & Huggies wipes snob for the first year for my babies. So the next few months will be spent working my coupon magic to make room for baby expenses in our budget again!

My husband stumbled upon an article in the Sunday paper that discussed how a few retailers are now offering up debit cards as an option instead of the store credit card for consumers who wished to participate in the rewards programs without having to open a credit account.

Target is one of those stores. They actually offer a debit version of their REDcard that gives you all the benefits of their credit REDcard but without any interest, because it's linked to your checking account! The charges draft out of your account similar to bills that are paid through your BillPay accounts. They may take a couple days to clear so make sure to record them in your check register to maintain your proper balance.

The Target Debit REDCard benefits include: 5% off every shopping trip at Target and Target.com; FREE Shipping from Target.com; Pharmacy & Education Rewards. The Target Debit Card links right to your checking account for hassle-free shopping. You can even request up to $40 cash back when you're shopping in-store. Target Debit Card cannot be used on the mobile Target.com website.

We have a beautiful Super Target that opened up last year and I shop there often... more often than I should... so the option of saving 5% off my shopping trips without having to open a credit account is really cool!

I hope that this finds that you all had a very Merry Christmas!

I know that I have been missing in action a bit this Fall and some of you may be wondering whats going on behind the scenes? Where in the world I have been or what has been keeping me so occupied/busy that I haven't been able to keep the blog updated per usual.

Here ya go! We are expecting baby #2 in late May - early June 2012! We truly couldn't be more excited or feel more blessed.

Crazy that I am 17 weeks pregnant here & feel like I look closer to 25 weeks - BUT I have found it to be true where they say you show much faster the second time around....

All is going well with the baby but I haven't progressed without a good 5 weeks of 24/7 all day nausea during the first trimester and i've had a few rounds with some pretty nasty migraines - one of which was the past 3 days & I can assure you that was NOT on my wish list for Santa! Thankfully, I am feeling much better today :-)

So all of that, plus keeping up with a 3.5 year old, a household & other odds & ends has made it a little hard to keep the blog updated per usual. I apologize for that but expect that there will be some good weeks with great posting on the blog & then some slower weeks. I hope that you all understand & stick around! I promise to keep you'll more posted regarding the pregnancy & when our newest addition arrives.

We have our ultrasound at the end of January & I am so excited to see how much our little one has grown. We will not be finding out the gender just like we didn't find out with Lyla. It's fun, a great surprise & it truly drives people crazy, which is probably the most enjoyable part for us ;-)
