OK, just to say this for those who want to work quickly...

Titanium Appcelerator did complete what I wanted to do for an Android Gingerbread device in under 3 days. This was accomplished with a local database(Sqlite) and with the functionality that I wanted in displaying the data. I only needed to refine the interface and add the Intents for use of Android services. I looked over their WIKI documentation and the changes that they made will make me look into their UI building techniques.

Below is the javascript code I used when I started looking into the development tool

var win = Titanium.UI.createWindow({

title:'My Window',

backgroundColor:'#cccccc'

});

var label = Titanium.UI.createLabel({

color:'#999',

text:'Hello World',

font:{fontSize:20},

textAlign:'center'

});

win.add(label); // add label to window

win.open(); // open window

Really simple to start. http://amplify.com/u/a1gupq

What I have found out about the PhoneGap development library is that I need to spend time working from XML or figure how to store and read Sqlite databases on the the mobile device to make my app local and not in need of WiFi or 3G/4G connection. The study continues. http://amplify.com/u/a1gun0

Largest black-run bank in U.S., overwhelmed by soured real estate loans

Shareholders OK Carver's rescue by Wall St. banks

Largest black-run bank in U.S., overwhelmed by soured real estate loans, gets a $55 million cash rescue from Citigroup, Goldman, Morgan Stanley and other key investors.

Carver Bancorp's shareholders confronted a painful choice on Tuesday. They could vote to cede control of the Harlem-based institution to a consortium of Wall Street firms and the U.S. government in return for $55 million of cash to rescue their ailing bank. Turning the money down would likely have doomed Carver Federal Savings, the nation's largest bank founded and run by African Americans.

More women falling into ranks of homeless veterans

After a five-year stint in the Army, Donaldson lost her job at a gas station. She couldn't pay her rent. She and her 6-year-old son ended up living in a Pontiac Grand Am, hungry, homeless and exhausted.

Reporting from Fayetteville, N.C — As a soldier, Ruth Donaldson was an accomplished ammunition specialist. As a civilian, she became a stressed-out single mother struggling to find a job and raise her child.

Nation of Islam mourns assassination of Muammar #Gadhafi

noreply@blogger.com (Kem) — Wed, 26 Oct 2011 12:46:00 +0000

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan left no doubt in the minds of the listeners of the diabolical mission on the United States government and NATO in regards to the assassination Muammar Gadhafi and their plans for the African diaspora.

Farrakhan: Nation of Islam mourns assassination of Muammar Gadhafi

“I feel like I have lost a very, very important member of my own family. I can't take the assassination of Muammar Gadhafi lightly, as I could not take the assassination of my brother, or my mother, or my wife or my children lightly. That's the kind of relationship that we had and that we have,” said Min. Farrakhan. “I come to say to the world that the Nation of Islam mourns the loss of a great brother leader, the Lion of the Desert, the Lion of Africa, and those who rejoice at his death, your laughter will turn to tears and your joy will turn to sorrow and great pain because of what the Western world and those collaborators will lose as a result of his betrayal and his ultimate assassination.”

I just finished printing a book on the opensource project, PhoneGap. This will be my reading material for the weekend. Attempting to create an app that works on all smartphone devices. I did complete an app for Android that holds the complete Book of Muslim Lessons. Looking to add to my knowledge of programming for business needs.

The smartphone will become one the best ways to deliver information to people quickly. Feedback can be accomplished from these devices for new products, and as apps keep exploding on the market it can only get bigger. http://amplify.com/u/a1f83q

Nation of Islam's Akbar Muhammad released in Guyana after unjust detention, false charges

“O you who believe, if an unrighteous man brings you news, look carefully into it, lest you harm a people in ignorance, then be sorry for what you did.”

—Holy Qur'an Surah 49:6

In an exclusive interview, Akbar Muhammad told The Final Call May 21 that when Guyanese police officers came to his hotel room in the country, an officer said the Central Intelligence Agency had told local authorities he was a terrorist. There are also suspicions that the false arrest and detention could be tied to tensions between the ruling Indian-dominated political party and Black opposition party as elections loom.

The false charges and arrest is part of a sustained effort to trash the good name of Minister Farrakhan and the good works of the Nation of Islam, charged Mr. Muhammad, who has traveled to Guyana on numerous occasions since 1975 and has never had any problems with law enforcement. His most recent visit was about five years ago to speak to young people.

I HATE Software Audits

noreply@blogger.com (Kem) — Thu, 24 Mar 2011 19:15:00 +0000

This is the only thing that I absolutely dislike about software development. Someone finds a bug in the code and THEY assign you the task of finding and suggesting changes.

And I was doing so well in my study of 3D animation and logo designing. This will be with me into the weekend.
