Happy Friday! Due to my vacation, (luckily), this work week flew by! I wore this outfit to work for casual friday and turned into one for a BBQ with some girl friends. This shirt is another gem I found at TJMaxx recently. Their juniors department is ballin'.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! I know, I've been gone for a couple of days. I headed to Long Beach Island with my family for four days and I really got to relax. With how busy it has been at the office, it was nice to get away and sleep all day in the sun. Although now I have some serious peeling going on on my face, the relaxation makes up for the two-face-esque look I have today! I did a lot of thinking, a ton of sleeping and even more smiling.

Btw, this is one of my most business-esque outfits. I look awkward right? Maybe I'm a little bit of a hippie at heart....

Lady in a Blue Dress

Apparently, the week of 4th of July, I accidentally decided to dress semi-patriotic...blue dresses on the 3rd and the 5th? These are probably two of my favorite dresses; the colors are perfect with my (now gone) tan and the fits flatter my body. I was speaking to a co-worker about this yesterday. It is so important to dress for your body type and not for trends etc. I have slowly began to learn this as I've gotten older.

Thank god it's thursday; LBI in less than 48 hours! unlimited chocolate peanut butter ice cream...yumm! oh..and family time :) haha

I always feel very feminine and 'sweet' when I wear pale pink. I know...it's in my head, but I like the idea of it. Just throw a color on and all of a sudden I'm not the crossfit girl with the ripped up hands, but I'm the sweet feminine girly girl. And I think I'll stop before I sound more crazy than I do....

This week has been pretty stressful and all I can think about is the weekend at this point and it's only Tuesday...keeping my head up and smile on!

Back to Monday! Well...I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago to run some errands and go get my hair done. I have these Banana Republic shorts in like 4 colors and they are great because they are a little bit longer than some of the booty shorts out there and they are a light fabric for really hot days. This shirt on the other hand is something I really have a hard time styling, mainly because of its length and the fact that it's a size large and I am no longer a size large....but...the lace bra peaking out the back and the belt somehow make it work.

P.S I went hiking for the first time in forever with my dad this weekend...I am still alive...that is saying alot! Have a great day :)

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! I did! Got to spend some time relaxing, saw Spider-man and a greeeeeat fireworks show. Now the only problem....back to work today. The middle of the week Holiday makes for a weird transition back to work today. Definitely wish I was still sitting by the pool catching some rays!

Today is a special day though; one of my best friends in the entire world's birthday up in heaven. Happy Birthday Tyler! Love you and miss you every day!

Monday again! Had a pretty good weekend; got to clean my room (it really needed it), got my hair done, went to the beach, Crossfitted and worked. Busy, but surprisingly relaxing. Hope yours was just as wonderful!

What's funny about these photos, and many other of my morning ones, is that I have my hair in a braid and I kind of look like a mess. I do this a couple of days a week and then around 9am I take the braid out and my hair has pretty awesome waves. Kind of annoying that none of you get to see it!

Last but not least, I signed up for Salsa classes...so excited! It's been a long time since I've danced and what better way to get into than getting in touch with my Latina side :) Can't wait to tell you all about it!

Sometimes it is good to keep things around even though you may be questioning it in the moment. My Mom had this dress in her closet from a very long time ago and recently passed it on to me! Although I got a lot of black and white cookie, yin yang and playing cards comments, I love the way it looks. Such a great contrast and perfectly conservative for work!

I'm feeling inspirational lately so look out for some wise words tomorrow :)

P.S My little brother is swimming in the Olympic Trials for Swimming this week and I am SO proud of him! He swam his first event this morning and he did great. He is only 19 and has gotten this far, hopefully in 4 years we see him at the Olympics!!

Boy does my lion's mane look crazy in that second set of pictures....

I wore the first outfit to hostess at the restaurant I work at and the second outfit to casual Friday at work. I love the idea of white and lighter wash denim for the summer. Not every day is warm enough for shorts, so more casual, laid back looking denim is perfect for work and cool nights.

Now I just can't wait for the weekend and two beach days headed my way!...:)

Yes, this dress is that old. When I was about 13, my cousin gave me this dress. I wasn't really in good shape for a while so I didnt wear it, but I knew I should save it and now I love it. It fits perfect and slit up the side gives it that hint of sexy. I wore this out for my friend's birthday a few weekends ago and it's comfortable and can handle a decent amount of stretch for the amount of food I eat AKA tacos and guacamole. Yum.

Now back to the arrival of summer to NYC-it's hot and I'm lovin' it!

Hello :) I actually didn't end up wearing the scarf with this outfit, it was way too hot out for that. The weather has been pretty confusing lately i.e the other night I probably could have worn a sweater and jeans and still been chilly.

Tonight I am going to see Cirque du soleil-Zarkana at Radio City with my Dad and I am pretty excited-such a dork. Can't wait to share some pictures and more excitement tomorrow!!

As per usual, I am way behind on my outfits. This is from about a week and a half ago; I wore it to a work happy hour/party at the Gansevoort Hotel, which by the way has some pretty awesome views. I know, I am way behind on the Meatpacking district trend...

Anways, I had a pretty good weekend, relaxed and had a nice night in on Friday, went to the beach Saturday morning and went for an hour and half bike ride on Sunday morning. These fun little things made going to waitress Saturday and Sunday night a little bit more bearable. Luckily, this week is going to continue to be gorgeous...the sun just makes me happier.. :)))))

First of all, it's Friday! Yay.

Second of all, I have been so happy lately, so every hour really has been happy hour. I can honestly say for the first time in a long time that I feel 100% genuinely happy with life; I am figuring out more and more about myself every day, looking positively to the future and enjoying every bit of it. I feel like I finally took off my blinders...

Anyways, how much do you love this shirt. It is 1 of 2 polka dot shirts I will probably ever own and the bow tie, cinched waist and color combo is everything I could have ever dreamed of. And from Forever 21; nice to find a gem in that store between the thousands of items on the racks.

Now time for the weekend, beautiful weather, a bike ride, the beach, work...ahh I'm enjoying it already.

Weekend Blonde

Looking at these pictures just made me realize...I really am a blonde now...and I am thinking about going a little lighter...what do you think? I really think it's true that blondes have more fun though...especially in the summer! This week definitely doesn't feel like summer though, with the weather we have been having in NY. Hopefully come the next couple of weeks there will be more beach days, bike rides and cute summer/colorful/comfortable outfits! Until then...my pants and cardigan will do...

Now back to reality. As always, I had a packed weekend with a friend's birthday dinner (her birthday is today, Happy Birthday Lauren!), almost 25 hours of work and very little sleep. I am definitely looking forward to the next night I can stay in and relax, but for now, here's to Monday and a fresh start to my week..:) !
