Ingredients :

1 lb string beans, sliced length wise

50 g ground pork, marinate with 1/2 fish sauce and pinch of corn flour

   2 clove garlic, mince

   2 bulb shallot, mince

   2 chili padi, mince

   2 teaspoon tamarind juice

   1/2 teaspoon mince ginger

   1 pinch of sugar

   1 handful basil leave

   1 teaspoon oyster sauce

   1 teaspoon fish sauce

1 teaspoon chili paste in soy bean oil ( preferred thai brand)

   1 teaspoon vegetable cooking oil

   salt to taste

   Method :

Heat the wok and add in the oil, stir fry the ground pork and break the meat with spatula until cook

or light dark brown. Dish up and set aside.

In the same wok, add in 1 teaspoon of oil and stir fry the garlic, shallot, chili padi until fragrant. Add

in the chili paste in oil and continue to fry to prevent from burning.

Pour back the meat into the wok, add in all the remaining seasoning and continue to stir fry until

everything in the wok is coated with oil and gravy. Dish up and serve.

I remember when I was young my parents likes to buy me boiled corn when going to the cinema for a movie. Sometimes they brought boiled peanuts too. Those where the days, now that they are old and have no strength to take me to the cinema no more. Perhaps I can take them to the cinema. This is the life of cycle. I hope and pray for them to have good health and live longer. Papi, Mami wait for me to come back next year, how nice if they can hear me now. I think they are in the middle of their sweet dreams now. Alright! back to the corn.

Corn is very healthy and delicious. The best thing is now every where at the store is having great deals. I'm getting these corns 4 for a dollar. Beware of heartburn when eating too much corns. It is difficult for digestion. Completely bite before swallow.

Boiled Butter Sweet Corn

   Ingredients :

5 large sweet corn ( i used combo corn, yellow and white)

3 tablespoon butter ( i used planta majerin)

3 tablespoon cream ( i used half and half )

   1 tablespoon sugar

   salt to taste

    Method :

Husk and clean corns, place the corns on the plate and steam for about 15 minutes. Remove from

steamer and leave it chill for a while. Use hand or knife to scrape down kernel from cob and set aside.

Heat up a pot on medium to low, melt butter add corn and sugar. Leave it to cook for about 15
    minutes.

Adjust the heat to low and add in the cream ( i used half and half), stir it and let it cook for a while.

Add salt to taste and cook for another 10 minutes or until soft and creamy.

    Serve immediately.

If I'm not mistaken I got this recipe from one of my sisters. The ingredients are very simply, just fruits and juice. I modified a tiny bit by adding in more fruits and gelatin. As for the red wine or any kind of wine, it is depending if you like it or not. It is very refreshing. I like to add a lot of watermelon. It is definitely very suitable for parties or after a heavy meal. I just love it.

Can't describe how tasty was this pork chop especially served with jasmine rice. When comes to Vietnamese cuisine this is one of the well known and a must order when eating in any of the Vietnamese restaurants. Btw, can you see the mistake i've made here? It is because I add black sauce. A tiny bit makes this pork chop turns out so dark. Don't worry, in the recipe, no black sauce is needed. Last but not least no doubt, it is dark but it still taste yummy.

Vietnamese Style Pork Chop with Rice

   Ingredients :

6 slice pork chop with bone ( centre cut)

   3 teaspoon fish sauce

   1 teaspoon oyster sauce

1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

   1 teaspoon light soy sauce

1 teaspoon cooking wine ( i used VSOP)

   1 teaspoon sugar

   1/2 teaspoon salt

   1/2 teaspoon lime juice

   3 stalks lemon grass, smashed

   2 bulb shallot, mince

   2 cloves garlic, mince

   1 teaspoon ginger, mince

   Method :

In a bowl marinate pork with all the above ingredients for about 4 - 6 hours or place it in the fridge

   overnight.

Remove from fridge and thaw. Discard marinate.

Heat up the wok or pan on medium heat, add about two teaspoon cooking oil. Add in the pork, fry

each side for about 5 - 8 minutes.

Prepare a plate, Scoop up rice and place into small rice bowl and put it on a plate and flip it over.

When the pork chop is ready, place it on the plate and arrange tomato and cucumber slice, lettuce and

cilantro. I prefer to add some fried garlic on the top.

    Enjoy!!

Not only that, I even made smoothies to go with it. Today my girls and I were having so much fun at lunch. What a nice bonding lunch. We were talking about the school stuff and they are so excited and looking forward going back to school. I love my 4 gold!!

Tuna Croissant Sandwich

   Ingredients :

600 g chuck light tuna or ( 2 small cans)

   21/2 tablespoon mayonnaise

1/2 tablespoon thousand island dressing ( optional)

   3 large croissants

   6 lettuce leaves

   6 tomatoes slice

3 dash of black pepper powder

   salt to taste

   Method :

Open can and drain or squeeze out water. Pour tuna into a bowl and whisk together with mayonnaise,

thousand island dressing, dash in the black pepper powder and add salt to taste. Mix well and set aside

   or place inside the fridge.

Lightly toast the croissants or until crispy. Cut the croissant down to the middle but not split into half.

Place lettuce and tomatoes slice on the croissant then fill up with tuna filing. Top with another slice

of lettuce if desire. ( I prefer more)

Serve with fruits or salad. As for myself, I go with smoothie.

   Enjoy!!

This is simple and yet very delicious and a great dinner for two. Hehe! We are 6 dining in, what a big crowd. I've prepared 3 lobsters and 6 baked potatoes for my family. Hubby like it and the gals love it too. As for myself, well if they are happy, I'm happy.
To be honest with you my only favorite part of this dish is the baked potato. It is so tender, rich in flavor especially when added with sour cream and crispy bacon. Mmmmm! so good.

Lobster with Garlic Butter and Baked Potato with Sour Cream

   Ingredients :

1 whole lobster, clean and slice into two halves

  3 teaspoons mince garlic

3 ounces butter ( i used salted type)

  dash of parsley flakes

  fresh rosemarie leaf ( optional)

Baked Potato with Bacon and Green Onion :

2 large potato, scrub/brush with water and pat dry

2 slice of bacon (i used cooked bacon, microwave for 2 minutes or crispy)

  4 teaspoons sour cream

4 teaspoons butter about 2 ounces

  1 teaspoon chopped green onion

   Method :

Preheat oven 390 F. Poke potato with fork several times. Wrap potato in an aluminum foil and bake for

about 40 minutes or until tender. Turn potato once. ( to check it is ready, used chopstick to poke)

When potato is ready, remove from oven and let it cool for a while. Cut potato in the middle, spread

butter at the potato follow by sour cream, sprinkle with bacon and green onion. ( I will place the potato

in the oven until its time to serve)

Pat dry the lobster and place in a baking tray, both side up.

Scoop or thinly slice butter top on the lobster, evenly from head to tail.

Sprinkle mince garlic top on the lobster, evenly and bake for 25 - 30 minutes or until the garlic turn

   golden brown.

Dash in the parsley flakes, garnish with fresh rosemarie and serve immediately. Don't forget the Baked

   Potato.

   Enjoy!!

This recipe is actually from my boyfriend and he has promoted to a better position, which is my husband. LOL!!! He loves this very much and I can say he is very good at cooking this Lamb Chop. I think partly because of this I marry him. He used to cook a lot of this Lamb Chop for me before we got married. It has really impressed me with his passion in cooking. Not say that he is only good at this perhaps there are a few more specialty dishes I like from his collections, for example waxed duck rice, stir-fry yu choy with chili padi, kunyit fried chicken and kampung fried rice which is posted earlier at my blog. If im not mistaken he is only good at these few dishes cause whenever if I'm not cooking or gone to the park with the kids, we will be able to see one of the above dishes on the table waiting for us to come home. I can say he is a very romantic person and a good father. But nowadays he seems to be getting more busier and I think its time for me to cook this for everyone now. Sounds fair, right!! Back to the Lamb Chop, it is a super easy to make and yet very juicy and delicious meal. This Lamb Chop makes me become his wife and make me cook for him forever and ever. I bet he can't see this cause he barely got time to browse at my blog.

     Method :

Fry the lamb chop in wok or pan with 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil ( or grill in oven).

Fry lamb about 3 minutes on each side or depends how cooked you want it to be, i like it to be well

done and slightly burned at sides.

Arrange french fries, curly lettuce and tomato slices.

    Serve immediately.

Especially those which are made by my mother in law. She makes the best Vegetarian Goose i've ever had. She really put in a lot of time and patience when she makes Vegetarian Goose. Talk about it I have not eaten her Vegetarian Goose for quite sometime already. Haiya! I should have asked her to make me some when she came to visit us last year. By the way, this is not my mother in law recipe but it still tastes very yummy. Try it, you will know.

Crispy Vegetarian Goose

    Ingredients :

    10 slices bean curd skins

    1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

    1/2 teaspoon dark sauce

    1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 cube red fermented bean curd

    112 teaspoon sugar

    1/3 cup water

    toothpicks

    pinch of salt

    Method :

Mix well the above ingredients in a bowl. Open one of the bean curd skin, scoop some of the sauce

and spread on the bean curd. Fold the bean curd into a rectangle shape and pin it with some toothpicks

Repeat the process with all the bean curd skin and sauce.

Place all the wrapped bean curd skin in a steamer and steam for about 10 minutes. Remove and leave

    it to cold.

Get ready some hot oil and fry the bean curd on each side until crispy or golden brown. Remove from
