Zebra and Damask Style Bunk Beds

~*Happy Tuesday*~

Do you know what today is? I'll tell you, it's closing day for us, I am so excited! We are making lots of changes...out with the old and in with the new! ;)

As many of you may know, we have not purchased furniture in a LONGGGGG time, so we are "updating" a few things here and there! Our girl's have decided to share rooms and bunk together, so one set of girl's got the "zebra" bunk bed, and the other girl's got the Damask bunk bed.

I, personally, would have picked out a less busy comforter, but the girl's went a little WILD! ;) This comforter will go with the zebra bunk bed, both will have the same comforter.

And the "peace" comforter sets will go with the Damask Bunk Bed.

Anyway, these will be delivered next week, so I am anxious to throw all this together for my little ones.

I thought the bunk beds were unique with the designs on them, so I will let you know how this all turns out. =)

HELP!!! Need Advice and quick!

Hi Ladies! I am going to place an order this afternoon for one of the three Entertainment Units you see below for our family room. I've decided to lighten up the kitchen, so I've ordered the kitchen items you see below. Should I continue the distressed "Vintage Cream Crackle" into the family room, or go with the darker Italian Country Finish, which is a dark red walnut stain?

This will be our new kitchen table and chairs.

I also got this curio, so I can display my plates and pottery.

My husband put these bottom 2 pictures in Google sketch-up to do a comparison.

Here the family room is with the distressed white unit. If I go this route, I may distress the kitchen island and mantle to match.

Here is the darker unit.
Do I go with CHANGE, or stay with the colors I have most around the house???? Help! ;)

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. My gut told me to go with the darker wood, but "change" was calling, so I pulled the trigger and purchased the Crackled Vintage Cream Unit.
I hope I made the right decision...eeks! ;)
It takes 3-4 weeks to be delivered, so hopefully I will have it ready to show you by the end of June.

We are busy-bees over at Savvy Seasons, as we have just begun....

OPERATION ~ PACK THE HOUSE!

Here are the beginning stages, just a few boxes and the big question, "Where do I start?"

I thought y'all might get a kick out of this picture, can you tell I like book boxes? I even had to laugh at myself, because I noticed that I purchased a few of the same book boxes without even noticing that I already had one. Ha! ;)

My hubby and I were a great team. I began to organize and group things together, and then he came behind me with wrapping paper and put them in the boxes.

Lots of wrapping....

I love DECO BALLS and filled two boxes of them.

I would throw them across the room to my hubby and he would toss them into the boxes.

Who knew packing could be fun! I almost recommended that he go and get his baseball glove, ha! So, tomorrow we will be working on more of the same...packing and then we will be doing some grilling out on the good ol' BBQ!! =)

Deco Mesh Ribbon Wreath - in GREEN!!

~Wreath * Making~

Hi everyone! Today, I felt like creating something, so I made this Deco Mesh Wreath.

I got all the supplies at Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately, the only Deco Mesh they had was rather bright and colorful. I was looking for a more subdued green, but this was all they had. I tried to tone it down by adding a darker ribbon and some greenery for a spring/summer look. Although, this wreath would be great for St. Patrick's Day, ha! Hmm, maybe next year! ;)

Here are the supplies I used:
-Wire wreath Form $2.99
-Deco Mesh Ribbon $9.99 (50% OFF) 21" x 30 FEET
-Flowering Garland $14.99 (50% OFF)
-Grapevine Bendable Wire $2.99
Fleur de lis $6.99
Stripped Ribbon $8.99 (50% OFF)

I used the bendable wire to secure my "poofs" into place.

This wire worked great and secured nice and tight to the wreath form.

Poofs completed. =)

I made some bows and secured them in between the poofs to add a different variation of green, using the same bendable wire.

I cut my garland into 5 inch pieces and secured them into place using the bendable wire.

This Fleur de lis you can hang on the wall, so I looped the wire through the hanger part and hung it from the top of the wreath to add a decorative detail!

A closer look!

Well, my intentions were to make a summer wreath with my supplies, but as you can see, it turned out to be a better fitting wreath for St. Patrick's Day, ha! Oh well, you win some, you lose some, but it was fun to make the wreath, regardless! ;)

Adding more "Tuscan Pottery" around the house!

Hello Friends!

I had to share a few wonderful finds. On Friday, I went to Hobby Lobby just to browse, and came across a few things I've been eye-balling for awhile now. I've been waiting to see when these "yellowy" pieces would go on sale and to my surprise they were - 66% 0ff!

Can I get a woo, hooooo? ;)

I re-decorated the hutch in the family room and added the yellow pieces.

And the Ross items I showed you from a few weeks ago.

I got this garden topiary at Hobby Lobby for 50% off.

I love the yellow, I was going to get the same pieces in green, but I am trying to branch out of the green zone...just a bit. ;)

I love decorating the hutch, because when I get bored with the display, I can change it.

I may run back and grab a few more pieces, so that I have more of a collection look.

If I can find more pieces on sale, I may take away the "light" pieces and go with a more Tuscan flare.

I got these cute decorative balls for $1.79 at Fred Meyer, on clearance.

And below is an arrangement on the mantle, so you can see how I'm tying all the yellows in together.

I don't know about any of you, but I am beyond EXCITED!! Finally, we get a HomeGoods. I hate to say it, but Ross will now be on the back burner once this store opens. This used to be my all-time FAVORITE store to shop when we lived in Virginia.

I can't wait...
As far as I know, these are the first two HomeGoods stores to open in this state! =)

Hair Appointment Update ~ With Pictures!

Hi everyone, I'm back from my hair appt. and although I like the color, I don't LOVE it!

The brown pieces are definitely going to take some getting used to.

The highlights are a bit chunkier than I expected.

The make-up that I normally wear doesn't look right with this hair color. What make-up colors go well with darker hair? Help! ;)

Can you see the brown pieces with my hair up? I'm just not sure if I like it, or hate it.

Below is a before and after, which do you prefer?

So NERVOUS....I have a hair appointment this morning!

Hi Everyone, today I don't have a decorating post, but I was hoping to get a few opinions on hair color. As you can see in the photo below, I need to have my roots done. I am so tired of going to the salon every two months to have my roots touched up. So, this morning I have a hair appt. and I am thinking about making a big change.

I am thinking about doing one of the following for a low maintenance look:

1.) Add some brown low lights to the blonde

2.) Go with an Ombre Look

(darker roots, lighter ends)

3.) Have hair colored brown and then add chunky highlights

4.) Brown hair with light highlights around the face

I've had such terrible luck with hairdressers out here, but I think I've finally found a good one, so I hope he can deliver some good results with color.

I've been blonde for so long that I am super nervous to add brown, but I know I need to do it, so I can give my hair a break.

There are small changes happening over at Savvy Seasons...

See this table, well it went bye-bye today and now has a new set of owners. It was bittersweet to see it go. We've had this table since the kids were little, but we are ready for change. =)

We have more people coming today to pick up other pieces of furniture that we put up for sale on Craigslist. So, slowly but surely the house is starting to look emptier.

I have not done one ounce of packing yet and probably won't start for another week, or two! ;)

In the meantime, I wanted to share a cute picture I found at Ross a few weeks ago. It says...Vine Ripened Cherry Tomatoes on it. It you like this picture they have 4 of these showcasing different veggies. There was an artichoke picture that was really cute, too! I placed this one on the desk area in the kitchen and planked it with the above items.

I love the splash of colors, perfect for spring and summer.

Bringing back a bit of Tuscany

I've been missing my Tuscan "influence" around the house, so today I created a cheerful....

Tuscan vignette.

The items seen in the pictures were purchased today at Hobby Lobby and Ross!

I love how the colors all mesh together so well.

Run to Hobby Lobby if you like what you see, the whole store was practically 50% off, due to Mother's Day coming up.

I love the gold, green, rust, brown, and burgundy tones......HEAVEN to me! I love earthy colors.

When I purchase items that I'm going to group together, I place them out on the counter and play with the arrangement until I like what I see, which is what I was doing in the picture below.

I may add a little something-somethin', or take away a little something-somethin'! ;)

Ahhh, right back in Tuscany, right where I belong! Ok, a girl can dream, right? ;)

Ba-BAM!!

Hi Everyone! Spring is in full bloom over here in Washington, just look at the trees in the front yard. This morning I said, "Ba-BAM....just look at the explosion of pink buds on the trees!"

It was so pretty that I had to share it with all of you.

The colors are so vibrant this time of year.

I know these leaves will be green soon, so I am taking it all in while I can. ;)

The other day it was rather breezy out, and I can't begin to tell you how beautiful it was watching the trees swaying ever so gently in the wind...it truly took my breath away.

Instead of packing, what am I doing?

DECORATING!!!

I can't help myself! ;)

Well, we got our "official" close date on the new house, May 18th, and instead of packing, I am decorating, ha! I think I'm going to procrastinate till the very end. The thought at looking at boxes for several weeks doesn't sound like fun, so I will probably throw everything together at the last hour, ha! Anyway, yesterday, I re-did the mantle and added a bit of spring bling, as I like to call it, and added the color yellow!

My favorite color, green, continues to make it's way around the house, so I placed the Fleur de Lis pot next to the floral arrangement and planked it with a Deco Ball.

This cream Poly Resin Embellishment sits between the two black beveled mirrors.

Sitting on the opposite side of the mantle I have placed two like jugs, but tipped one on it's side for fun. Another pot is filled with light colored deco balls and I added a spash of green twigs to the tall jug to add a bit of height.

This is how the mantle looks now. I removed all the clutter from below for a cleaner look.

On the coffee table, I placed all these items together. Everything is from Ross, except the boxwood ball, which I found at Hobby Lobby.

I'm sure you have seen these items before in previous posts, I've just tweaked a few things here and there. ;)

Happy Tuesday, Friends!

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend! Well, I don't know about all of you, but I am not ready to put the bunnies away just yet. ;) I think I will leave them out another week, or so!

Here is a little vignette I created on a bookshelf.

Mr. Bunny may just stay up on the shelf all summer long. I adore little bunnies.

I added this little green wreath to the mirror.

I love decorating with topiaries, so these topiaries sit on the laundry room windowsill.

These topiaries sit on the living room mantle.

I like to stagger them at different heights.

I also like decorating with ferns.

We have been having some FABULOUS weather the past several days and believe me, I am taking in all the Vitamin D I can get. The weather is warming up, and I LOVE IT!

It is such a treat when the sun comes out and I love the shadows it casts on the walls.

The sunset was gorgeous last night, so I tried to snap a quick picture as the sun went down. Spring is here and I am really enjoying it! =)

Backyard Blooms

Just look at all those pink buds on the trees, so pretty!

The grass is turning bright green and signs of winter are turning bleak.

Love the stepping path.

Soon all the leaves will begin to fill in on the trees.

Flowers in all vibrant colors begin to bloom.

Outdoor chairs welcome us to sit and relax.

The water fountain is going again with the slight sound of splish-splash in the distance.

The hammock is calling.....

The yard sings songs of birds chirping and frogs croaking....spring is here, spring is here! ;)

And, a friendly cat has made his way here. ;)

The season - Spring, is very much welcomed. =)

My New Favorite Store

WIGHT'S HOME & GARDEN

Thank you Laura for introducing me to this FABULOUS store! Unfortunately, my husband doesn't thank you! ;) All he sees is dollar signs $$$$$$. Ha! ;)

When I find something that *inspires* me, I think of all of you....hoping that you might be inspired, too! ;)

This store had so many FABULOUS vignettes. The people that worked there probably thought I was nuts with all the pictures I was taking. Ha! I couldn't help myself. When I see something I like, I take a picture, and then I use it as future reference when creating vignettes of my very own.

Just look at that beautiful furniture piece with the distressed edges....love, love, love!

For all the "coastal decorators" this picture is for you! =)

I love Paris and Topiary decor....

This store was decked with Spring decor.

Below is the Fleur de Lis cloche I purchased.

For those of you that are into BURLAP, check out the adorable burlap carrots. I know all you crafters can replicate these.

The floral department was AMAZING. Look at this arrangement that was lit up, very different, wouldn't you say?

I think displaying bread, such as seen below, really adds warmth and charm to a kitchen space.

I've just started collecting corks, but this is a cute way to display them.

Love this shelf display.

I adore cloches of any kind, but I'm really drawn to the wire ones.

Color Me Happy

Hello, sweet-wonderful blog friends! I hope you all had a fabulous week! Today, I tweaked and added a few new items to my decor, so please join and I'll show you what I did. =)

See this adorable wire Fleur de Lis cloche? Well, I found it at a great shop called Wight's Home And Garden. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this store. Did I mention I LOVE it? Ha! Well, I do! ;)

I found this little Topiary at Wight's, but I decided to dress it up. I got the pot at Hobby Lobby ($4.99) and added soft and colored Reindeer Moss (1 bag at $5.99), also from Hobby Lobby. Don't you think it makes the Topiary look a bit more dressed up?

I decided to add it to the Living Room Spring Mantle display.

I've shared this wreath several times, but I love the look of it for Spring.

I added the Reindeer Moss to the cloche and placed a store bought white chocolate bunny on top of the moss. Can you say, inexpensive? The chocolate bunny was only $2.99 at Safeway and doesn't it look sweet sitting in the cloche?

In the picture below, I got the 3 little garden accents at Ross. I added them to the kitchen display cabinets.

I love the splash of green.

I also added these wicker balls to a wicker basket that also sits in the display cabinet.

In the picture below, I got the green pot at Tuesday Morning for $4.99 in the garden section and added a boxwood ball to it.

The design on the pot is what caught my eye.

I think this looks very Tuscan-esque. ;)

The do-dads to the far left, (not sure what they are called) I found at Hobby Lobby.

I also found the cream colored embellishment from Hobby Lobby, too!

Birds, Bunnies, and Spring Decor

Hello, friends! This weekend I added a few things around the house, so please join me and I'll show you what I put together.

This Bird Cloche needed some love, so I added a bird nesting and some greenery. I also added a birds nest.

There is a big window as you go up the back staircase, so I placed a Rooster Vase and some greenery in it, and added two distressed bunnies beside it.

This little niche upstairs needed a little attention, so I placed some bunnies, book boxes, a topiary, and ivy ball altogether.

I got the little garden basket from Jo- Ann's and placed the topiary in it.

Don't you just love spring? I do!

I found the Provence Box at Jo-Ann's and placed some greenery from Hobby Lobby in it!

I love using candle holders to display things, so this Fleur de Lis holder was perfect.

The powder room has a cozy look to it now.

Well, those are some little changes I've made, I hope you like it!

Grace At Home Party

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

We are MOVING!

If you've been following my blog for awhile now, you know that we moved to Washington State about a year ago from Northern Virginia. We signed a two year lease and have been renting this beautiful home. As many of you know, interest rates are at an all-time low, so we asked our landlords if they might be amenable to us leaving early, so that we might buy a home of our own, and they agreed, which was so *incredibly* nice and generous of them.

So, long story short, we found a model home that literally just went on the market, and we snatched it up fast. We are due to close at the end of May, but will wait until the end of June to move. The new home is about 20 minutes North of where we are currently living.

We have also decided to go with a smaller home, but the floor plan is perfect for our family (5 Beds, 4 full Baths, 2 Bonus rooms, Basement, Deck), plus a 180 degree view of the Olympic Mountains in the distance. The night view is amazing....lots of lights!

Every time we buy a big home, we never use 1/2 the rooms that we have, so we decided to be "practical" this time around. ;) We will be giving up the "formal" areas such as the dining room and living room, which are rooms we rarely ever use. The kitchen is not big, and we have lots of plans to "upgrade the space" which I can't wait to share.

This is the home we will by buying. It's 3685 square feet of living space. We have a lot of fun things planned for this home. =)

Etc...etc...

The hubbs is designing a Home Theater for the basement.

We just ordered this sectional for the Theater. We wanted something cozy and comfortable for watching movies, and a sectional that would fit the entire family.

I am going to go lighter in the kitchen "dining area" so I ordered this table, 6 chairs, and the curio.

I got this coffee table, too!

So, although this home is not as grand as the home we are in, nor our previous home, it suits our needs.

We are all excited, so stay tuned for lots of decorating challenges and changes! =)
