Bravo! Styling for Silicon Valley, Part II

Road trips on holiday weekends tend to make the average commuter feel like a long haul trucker. From racking up hundreds of miles on the ole odometer to traffic nightmares and fueling station fiasco's; do you ever feel like a staycation is the best option for a 3-day weekend? I was all over N. California highways the past few days hopping from a graduation party to bridesmaid dress shopping in Sacramento with my BFF and bride-to-be, Laura. Also, packed into the mix were two nights styling the bubbly and talented tech guru Hermione Way for Bravo!'s new reality show, "Silicon Valley," being filmed in the Bay Area.

Friday Night Before & After

"What to Wear to a Winebar" ~ Styles vary depending on your city and I often see a lot of neutral shades paired with black all year SF. Just like bartenders here infuse their cocktails with every exotic fruit or spice you could imagine, I like to infuse my outfits with ultra bright shades. And this spring and summer, that includes NEON accessories! Hermione wore this peach vintage dress I previously featured in my California Vintage post. My goal was to channel a Kate Hudson meets a 70's Goldie Hawn look with her hair and makeup. (dress~vintage, clutch~Nine West, neon cuff ~ H&M (recent)

Memorial Day Before & After

"What to Wear on a Semi-Casual Dinner Date" ~ Before a woman can change from a towel into her date outfit, she must know where she is going. There is nothing worse than wearing a cocktail dress and heels to a taco truck or showing up in jeans and a tank to a 4-star restaurant. For Hermione's Memorial Day dinner date, she's in a simple flirty red, white & navy dress appropriate for the restaurant. Then I added bolder MAC lipstick, Ardell lashes (Demi Wispies), and some clip-in extensions for fuller, longer hair. After the finishing touches fixing the belt, adding hairspray and lipgloss, she was ready to go! This nautical dress was previously seen in my "Smooth Sailing Shopping Tips" post.

Going through my candy jars of accessories Friday to closing out the long 3-day weekend Monday night...

My First Day Styling for Bravo!'s New Show 'Silicon Valley'

Did you know Carsen Daly still has a late night show? Unfortunately, I do because I'm up past 2 am nearly every morning blogging, replying to emails, and working on articles. On one of those nights last month, I was checking Craigslist when I noticed a spot for a "Stylist/Makeup/Hair" person needed for the set of a new reality show in the Bay Area. I applied and was so excited when I found out this week I got the position.

It's for the new Bravo! reality show called "Silicon Valley" that will air later this Fall. The show stars 7 real life Silicon Valley entreprenuers and includes an executive producer role by Randi Zuckerberg. You may know her brother. ;) I started yesterday styling cast member, Hermione Way....

"Silicon Valley" Styling ~ Day 1

Anyone who has ever traveled with me for more than 20 minutes knows I don't travel lightly. I brought Hermione lots of options and my full arsenal of aerosols along with my Temptu Airbrush makeup system.

Business ~ We went with a leather Kenneth Cole skirt, gold details and a bright blue vintage blouse I found at Vintage by the Pound in San Francisco's Mission District.

To achieve Hermione's look, I used MAC eyeshadows & lipstick, Temptu Airbrush foundation, Urban Decay eyeliner, Salon Perfect Lashes #53, and NARS blush/bronzer. I wanted her hair professional, but still California Girl Chic so I used the Babyliss Wave Wand shown in this previous post

Hermione is so inspiring as she's a social media Pro and she's started very successful tech companies including Newspepper.com. I just want to say I really appreciate all the support throughout my first year of blogging from any of you who read a single post. I'm so thankful to get this opportunity and I will see you soon... :)

Red, White & You! 5 Tips to Achieve the Classic Nautical Look

Did you ever notice that season after season, nautical stripes have true stylish staying power? Perhaps it's because 'sea' is in the word 'season,' but as you already know, you don't have to live by the bay to dress like a sailor.

Red, white, blue and gold is all you need in your closet to pull together a classic nautical inspired look. You can pair stripes and solids, polka dots and chains, or create you're own year round '4th of July' ensemble. I have a few "Nautical Style Tips" I'll share below. Please feel free to hop aboard and mention your own tips as well because this post is departing its port now... ;)

1. From Alcatraz to Atlantic City ~ 'Nautical' is a trend that spans the country and the world. Some of my favorite staple pieces are striped tops that can be layered or worn alone. They can be big stripes, or small, horizontal or vertical. Try on different styles and see what are most flattering.

2. Everyone Can Wear Red ~ It's a bold statement on my part, but I often hear women say "I can't wear red, it's not a good color for me." Women can still try red details like lipstick, nail polish, bracelets, stripes or how about red pants? Bright denim is everywhere these days.

3. 'I love Goooold!'~ After the Austin Powers overload this weekend, the truth is Goldmember was onto something. My favorite piece of jewelry is this gold Michael Kors watch, but you can also add gold chains, rings or bracelets to any nautical outfit.

4. Ch Ch Ch Changes ~ I've been popping my collar in dress shirts & chambray tops recently for a new look Also, don't be afraid to layer necklaces with casual outfits. Lately, I've been wearing so much Stella & Dot jewelry (like this long Libby Layering Necklace) I decided to partner with them and join their stylists.

5. Part of the reason any nautical inspired outfit adds a level of simplicity is because you can re-wear clothes you already have like denim & layering striped tops! I wore these red pants in my "Peplum & Polka Dot" post and that chambray top a few weeks ago as the top for my "Canadian Tuxedo" post. Plus, I love that both men & women can get in on this trend and boat shoes are everywhere this spring. So, check out your wardrobe for stripes, denim and gold, then simply add a pair of red pants.

90's Flashback! Austin Powers, Dr. Evil & Foxxy Cleopatra Appear in SF

Did you know that Halloween happens twice a year in San Francisco? Once on October 31st and then again on the third Sunday of every May for the annual Bay to Breakers race which happened to be yesterday. The annual footrace from the Bay side of the city to the beach is 7.46 miles and was recognized in the 80's by the Guinness Book of World Records as being the largest footrace in the world. People of all ages run it, while thousands of others dress up in costumes and walk the insanely popular SF event totalling around 100,000 people annually.

Bay to Breakers takes 'people watching' to a whole new level. You'll see every costume and lack there of imaginable. I'll keep the photos below 'PG' of course as groups of friends often pick a theme. This year, my friends and siblings chose to go as characters from Austin Powers and you can check out the photos below from start to finish...

From America's Got Talent to Ellen, My Interview with the "Trumpet Kid"

Are people born with a great style? Apparently yes! While many of us change our styles and have plenty of "What was I wearing?" moments; 12-year-old Gabriel Angelo (aka 'The Trumpet Kid') is not only one of the best dressed guys in SF, he's also SUPER talented and has some serious 'swag'.

Gabriel started out as a street performer playing his trumpet and tap dancing earning money for his music education, which is how I saw him playing near Bloomy's in SF last year. The past few months have been very exciting for Gabriel as he auditioned for America's Got Talent and was on the Ellen show last month. I had the chance to sit down and meet him this week outside the home of the San Francisco Giant's, AT&T park. Hence the orange & black details in his outfit...

Luckily we chatted after the Giants crowd cleared out for the game, but he still caught everyone's attention.

Questions for Gabriel~

1. Have you always had style, or does your mom help you pick out your clothes?

G. I've always had an eye for detail. When my mom would get me dressed up as a kid for church, we would get home and I wouldn't want to change. I never wanted to take off my dress clothes. (Brooks Brothers suits are his FAVE and he styles himself)

2. So do you have any upcoming projects you're working on?

G. I actually just helped a guy with his marriage proposal. He was an Academy of Arts student and I played my trumpet and helped him propose to his girlfriend. Of course she said 'yes,' (he added with a sly smile).

3. Wow, so it sounds like you're getting all kinds of gigs?

G. Well I actually don't like to call them 'gigs'. I would call them relationships with people, it's more long term. I'm not just playing to get paid, and that's what a 'gig' sounds like to me.

4. So do you have any brothers or sisters?

G. Yes, I have two older sisters, who are both musically talented as well playing the cello and piano, he went on. (What a good little brother)

5. Do you know how to play that one song that goes like, "Just Call Me Maybe." (I totally blanked on Carly Rae Jepson's name and wasn't about to sing it)?

G. Uh, I don't know it, but I'll learn it for you. I can play anything.

How to Wear White before Memorial Day featuring Snow Capped Nails

When you see a person wearing an entirely white outfit, it's most likely because: A. They're a doctor or nurse. B. They're getting married or C. They work at the Cheesecake Factory. While it's been a bit of a fashion faux pas to wear White before Memorial Day in the past, that's an outdated fashion rule. And wearing all white is not only unexpected, it's a refreshingly crisp style surprise.

There are so many outdoor events during spring and summer such as birthdays, baby showers, fashion shows, or any garden party. Below, I added some spring 2012 style twists and dressed up my sister in a simple ALL WHITE outfit adding bursts of color, snow capped nails and neutral details that could easily be emulated for any sunny soiree...

On the Fence ~ There is nothing more annoying than trying to decide between a couple outfits for an event. One tip is to remember to to have a "Little White Dress" just like you'd have a "Little Black Dress." Or a white blazer, pants suit or skirt works as well.

Evaluate Your (Fashion) Risk ~ The age old rule of "Don't Wear White After Labor Day or Before Memorial Day" began in the 1940's, and while there's still mixed thoughts on this fashion rule, I think it's perfectly okay to wear as much white as you want. What do you think?

Stilettos & Dirt Don't Mix ~ Skip heels at any outdoor event that may result in you sinking into the earth. Wedges and flats are far more practical and just as trendy. What is "Fashionably Late"? ~ For weddings, church services, business meetings or theater performances, there's no such thing, so please be on time. But for cocktail and holiday parties, most etiquette guides concur that there is a 30 minute window for you to arrive 'fashionably late.' I'm sure this could be extended to 60 minutes in LA though.

Bleach it Baby! ~ There's nothing worse than dull white clothing. Try brightening with a bit of bleach in the washer. This top & shorts my sister is wearing are a couple years old, but look just as white as the day they were charged thanks to a splash of Clorox.

1. Pony Tricks: If you throw your hair in a ponytail fast for an event, I always wrap a strand of hair around the pony tail holder. Secure it with a bobby & give a basic pony more of a high-fashion look.

2. Floral "Pin It:" ~If you're bored of a simple top, blazer or dress, simply add a faux flower like I did with this coral one ($3.95 at H&M). It adds an instant burst of one of this season's hottest trends; FLORAL.
3. Snow White Mani/Pedi: ~If you haven't tried white nail polish before, it's an unexpected change. White watches are a fun LMFAO style inspiration.

All Dressed Up with Nowhere to Go

If you grew up in a small town and loved to play dress up, you most likely ended up trying on dresses in your bedroom and promptly hanging them back in your closet. Where would a gown be appropriate? A BBQ, Little League game, beer festival or a picnic? Nope.

This is exactly how I felt when I spotted a neon lime dress at H&M from its new Conscious Collection. The first question I get when people see it is, "Where would you wear that?" The truth is I really don't know what event I could pull this off in San Francisco, but I suppose I can start here on my fashion blog along with a few tips to dress 'down' any floor length gown...

When You See 'it,' You Just Know ~ Have you ever seen a dress, handbag, suit or jacket and knew you had to have it (knowing it's affordable)? This dress instantly caught my eye with its trendy spring details like the neon & the slit which has risen in popularity since Angelina Jolie's leg flash at the Academy Awards.

My #1 Spring Dress Recommendation ~ Maxi Dresses & skirts have been a hot trend the past few years. If you haven't tried one yet, they are truly one of the most comfortable flattering styles that can be dressed up or down. If you're petite or on the shorter side, just wear wedges or heels.

The 'Conscious Collection' Up Close ~ This eco-friendly line isn't carried in all H&M's but definitely check a store near you. The collection is filled with bold, bright prints & patterns as well as details like the beaded top on this dress. The entire line is also really affordable & decent quality.

MakeUp Details ~ I don't leave the house dressed up without lashes. :) While I followed the same makeup steps I used on my sister's past glam makeover, I added Salon Perfect Demi lashes (#102). Youtube tutorial coming soon "How to Apply Fake Lashes Stress-Free in Less than 1 Min"

How to Dress Down any Outfit Too Fancy ~ ADD Leather! A black leather jacket instantly adds an edgy spin on any dress that needs to be toned down. I also went with strappy non-platform black heels, but this neon could easily go with neutral or metallic heels.

Highlighter Hue ~ We took the pics in the shade, but this was the true color of the dress in the sun. Unfortunately the bright reflection off the dress was giving my face an instant "Crazy Tanning Mom" look, so we shifted to the lower lighting.

The Truth About Bullying

Were you bullied in school? Depending on when you were in elementary or high school would also determine the type of bullying happening. The cruel turns and twists of online bullying today has become so brutal, that some teens have tragically taken their own lives. This prompted celebs and politicians to work on stricter laws against bullies, awareness such as the movie Bully and the "It Gets Better" campaign which is a great step in the right direction.

However, the truth about bullies is they exist well into adulthood. The dynamics and face of the bully may change, plus you have more knowledge and experience to deal with it; but you will encounter BULLIES for the rest of your life. Adult bullying examples include...

1. Bullies in the WorkPlace

Office Space ~ From working at a fast food joints to offices in the corporate world, many people have felt bullied by a coworker or boss at some point in their life. (Photo credit here)

2. Relationship Bullying

Not Cool ~ The first time I ever saw domestic violence was watching Fried Green Tomatoes as a kid when Ruth was getting beat by her husband and Idgie jumps on his back to try to stop him. You may know men and women involved with this or have been in an abusive relationship.

3. Bullying in Politics

Without getting into politics, bullying exists across the board in both parties.

Here's 2 examples I've paid attention to recently~

A. The John Edwards trial~ He tried to cover up his love child with money that wasn't his, and allegedly (I believe it) bullied his married campaign aide, Andrew Young, to say he was the one who impregnated Edwards' mistress. Of course, the truth came out and Edwards was the real father. Classic Maury.

B. The secret service prostitute scandal simplified~The reason the story broke was because the secret service men bullied the women and refused to pay them what they promised. So the women went to the authorities, and the whole sordid tale was released.

You may deal with strangers who take on the "Bully" role and if you find yourself in a situation in public you can't handle, try saying these 6 simple words..."I'm going to call the Cops."

Here's how it's worked for me*...

1. In college, I saw so many drunken fights among guys. I hate fights, especially when empty bottles of 40 oz. Mickey's are being thrown like grenades. So if I was driving by and noticed a brawl, I'd just yell out the window, "The cops are HERE!" and any guys who heard would start scattering.

2. In Vegas last summer we were in line for a club when I noticed my brother and friend handing over hundreds to an attractive female. I walked over to see what was going on and she said, "Yea, I'm an 'independant host' and I'm going to walk your group to the front." She went on, "Then another host will help you get a table in the club."....'Uh, no' I thought. After I said we didn't need her help, she refused to give the money back. As a last resort I said,"Ok, I'm gonna call the cops." She reluctantly handed back the $300, gave me a death stare and said, "that's not how Vegas works honey," and stormed off.

3. Last week in SF, a man driving around my parked car hit the side of it and I heard a loud crack! I hopped out to see nothing happened to my car, but his driver's side mirror was dangling. He ran over and said "Give me your lisence now, and your insurance!" Then his passenger started yelling at me and taking pics of my car they had just hit. I said, "I'm just gonna call the cops and they can deal with this." Suddenly, he backed off and we exchanged info like civilized adults.

*(SIDENOTE) I'm not saying to actually call the police, but you can throw it out there and see what happens. It also helps if you have a pretty clean record in case they call your bluff. ;) And while it won't work in every situation, you'd be surprised how many adult bullies really don't want to deal with the cops.

A Double Denim Dare~Would You Wear a Canadian Tuxedo?

Have you heard of the "Canadian Tuxedo?" With bright colored trousers in full fashion force, the "Canadian Tuxedo" (wearing blue jean on blue jean) is a refreshing style change if you dare to take the bold leap into an oasis of denim. WARNING: I advise against Googling "Canadian Tuxedo" images. The first page includes photos like Jay Leno decked out in denim and Justin Timberlake holding hands with Brittany Spears circa 2001 in tragic matching blue jean outfits. Needless to say, this trend is not for the faint of heart.

The second you button up a chambray top and pair it with jeans, you'll feel like an extra in a country music video or a stable hand at the Kentucky Derby. But oh well, here goes nothin'...

How to Do Double Denim ~ A few tips to pull of the "Canadian Tuxedo" trend is to wear contrasting denim shades so it's not such an extreme look. Add color if you want with a handbag, tank, trench, and layering works as well. Also, this is a casual look, so I'd opt for sandals and wedges over heels.

Top Options ~ There's different ways to style a denim or chambray top 1. Leave it untucked 2. Tuck it in or just partially 3. Tie it in a bow (Also These are my favorite thigh-slimming Citizen of Humanity jeans I featured earlier here)

Poppy Flower Power ~ A patch of wild poppies I spotted (the California state flower)

Wilderness Time-Out ~ I picked this different flower & asked our landscaper (aka my dad) what it was called which led to a lesson of its exact spelling (Ca-len-du-la) & that Calendulas have herbal medicinal uses like controlling bleeding & reducing inflammation. They've even been used to treat acne! (Would have been cool if he filled me in on this flower in high school).

Style Twists ~ I've seen a lot of hair twists lately on a fashion sites, and it's fun to try with your hair down or in an Up-Do using a bobby pin to hold the twist. Also, to keep it casual I added a slouchy cross-body bag with gold hard wear by ALDO.

I'm not sure how the trend called "Canadian Tuxedo" came about, but I'd wear it again. Some people are understandably anti denim-on-denim so I must ask, would you wear a Canadian Tuxedo?

Girls Aren't the Only Teens Wearing Pink to Prom

Hollywood movies send super mixed messages to teens about "Prom Night" from Pretty in Pink, American Pie to the awkward innocence of Napolean Dynomite. And who could forget Carrie as she's drenched in a bucket of hog's blood or Ben Stiller's bathroom scene in There's Something About Mary? However, there's one Prom-common theme in movies and real life; every girl and guy wants to look and feel like a billion bucks.

Yesterday, I helped my youngest brother, 16-year-old Paul, shop in SF for a suit to wear to his prom this Saturday. The Mission: To style a complete look for him to wear in 1 hour. The Budget: $200 (we were gonna have to shop smart). The Store: H&M.

Here's a PREVIEW of my brother PAUL {along with a few Prom suggestions}

Most teenieboppers aren't Ballin' like Justin Beiber~ It's reported the average cost for prom these days is $1,078 per kid! This isn't realistic for many teens which is why guys looking for a slim fit suit needing minimal tailoring should count on stores like H&M.

Matchy-Matchy ~ I was so impressed my brother actually knew his date would be wearing a pink dress and had a photo of it. Once we spotted the light pink checkered shirt and tie combo with the navy suit, it was settled.

BEHIND the SCENES

Mr. Fancy Pants ~ It's okay to dress a little flashy in pink, skinny ties, bow ties, pocket squares, etc.

Dress Sock Situation~ If possible, match your socks as close as possible with your pants. Sorry, white socks are for athletics only. {For more dress sock rules and color combination tips, check out AskMen.com here}

PROM {or any FORMAL Night} Tips for Guys...

Please Be Patient ~ Rushing a girl can ruin her night if she runs out of the house and forgets her camera, earrings, purse etc. Prom is high-maintenance central for girls from her hair to the heels.

Look Who I Caught Dancing ~ Don't take prom too seriously. It shouldn't be a life-changer. Go with your friends, a date, or don't if you're not feeling like it. (STYLE NOTE, don't forget to only button the top button on a suit jacket & unbutton the lower one, which Paul did when he was done with his 'Party Rock' shuffle)

And that's a wrap. After a bit of last minute tailoring, my brother's suit will be ready to go. :) Unlike the movies, prom isn't possible for all kids who want to attend. Fortunately, there are organizations like DonateMyDress.org and boutiques nationwide that donate dresses to girls.

5 Tips to Get Out-the-Door Looking & Feeling Good in 30 Minutes

There's nothing worse than rolling out of bed with no idea 'what to wear' and no time to spare before you need to be out of the house for work, school, meetings, etc. Over the years, I've discovered some tricks to drastically cut down prep time for both men & women. Yes, guys can take forever too! I have one friend who makes sure every hair is in place and his V-neck is ever-so-snug stating to his fiance that he's "High-Maintenance, High-Performance" when she urges him to 'hurry up.'

I've been notoriously slow 'getting ready' in the past. Running down a dirt road with my shoes in one hand and a bagel in the other trying to catch my ride to high school is a memory I won't miss. There's a huge difference between getting out the door on time frazzled, and making it on time feeling good and put together. Here's 5 of my "Time-Savers" that I'll show you below on my sister ... because I wasn't ready ;)

1. Pick out your Clothes the Night Before ~ It's not just a good routine for kids; when you have your outfit ready-to-go (including ironed, shoes picked out, accessories set) it's one less hassle in the morning.

2. Take advantage of Spring Temps~Warm weather, especially in CA, can make getting dressed more simple. It's a one-step process for women (just throw on a dress). Buns, pony tails & hats like fedoras are also convenient for bad hair days.

3. Quick Make-Up is Key~ Try to have your day make-up routine down to 15 minutes or less. Sunscreen, primer, foundation if needed, eyes (mascara & concealer is usually a must-have), then a bit of blush, bronzer and lipstick. Famed makeup artist Bobbi Brown offers her super fast makeup routine here. (Keep a mini-makeup bag with essentials in it at work for touch ups) And guys, don't forget the sunscreen.

4. Dress Up with Simple & Classy Work Accessories ~ I always wear a couple bracelets and a watch to the office, plus a handbag that carries everything, but one of my new favorites is this menswear inspired cuff by Bolbach I first saw on Anna on her addicting style blog, FashBoulevard

Tip #5 ~ Breakfast in ~~Bed~~ the car, office, break room, etc.
Skipping breakfast is an instant headache by 11 am, but I have no time for it before I leave the house which is why my desk at work doubles as a pantry. Cheerios, fresh fruit, almonds, gummy bear vitamins, etc.

DIY Neon statement Necklace & Meeting style Guru Brad Goreski last Nite

Do you DIY? From grade school to present day, I try to pass off anything arts, crafts or sewing related to my mom. But if it's a 2-stepper, I'll give it a try. I saw this simple fun neon statement necklace DIY (do it yourself) on a blog called A Pair & A Spare.

I'll show you how to make the neon necklace around my neck that I wore to an event last night at one of the best men's & women's clothing stores in SF called Black Fleece. They were hosting a book signing event for celebrity stylist Brad Goreski who has his own reality show called "It's a Brad Brad World." More on that later, plus HOW TO get guys to an event that is even remotely related to Bravo or Rachel Zoe...

Spring Simplicity ~ There is nothing more comfortable and easy to throw on for women than a maxi dress when you have to get ready fast! I found this Calvin Klein tomato colored maxi in Palm Springs. Similar here

DIY 2-Stepper ~ I found this clearance necklace at Claire's and should have spray painted it white first, but forgot. After spraying it neon lime green, there was a problem. All the chains hanging down were stuck together. Thanks to the cheap quality, I just pulled them off and the finished necklace is below....

NEON...Just Do It! ~ For anyone timid to try neon, accessories are the easiest way to incorporate your favorite fluorescent shade. Wear a neon statement necklace or bracelets with a solid color, a black dress or a white V-neck T & boyfriend jeans.

Tuesday Night in the Fillmore ~ The event was held at Black Fleece in the Fillmore neighborhood next to shopping, bars and restaurants. Whether you're going to the Kentucky Derby, just got your tax refund, or want some guy style inspiration for spring, the collection is here or check out the store in person.

Brad & the Boys~ How do you get two Anti-Bravo guys to this book signing? I decided to attend at the last minute so I called my friend Steve & brother, Drew, to go with me. They were at a sports bar watching the Giants game so I had to think fast! "Wanna go to a really fun event, but we have to go now!?" I asked. They agreed without pressing for details and as we approached the store I saw their looks of "Ugh, what is she bringing us to?" But once the Pinot Grigio started flowing and the crab cake platters appeared, guess who totally recognized Brad, chatted him up, and wanted to take pics with the celeb stylist?

Born to be Brad ~ I like his show and love his style, so I bought his book. As I browsed through the chapters last night, it includes funny stories, super styling tricks and 10 items every woman must own. He was nice enough to give Drew & Stevie some complimentary style tips including (Steve ~ 'Nice shirt, but lose the vest') and a bit of "How to Tie a Bow Tie" advice...(Practice, and don't look at yourself in the mirror while you're doing it because it can mess you up. Go by feeling. Thanks Brad! :)

Monochromatic Monday featuring my Sister as the 'Lady in Red'

Would you wear the same color head to toe? With spring trends like colorblocking and neon in full bloom, sometimes it's refreshingly fashion forward to keep it simple, solid & stylish. Fellow SF fashion blogger Atlantic-Pacific and celebs like Blake Lively have successfully tested the monochromatic trend here & here.

When I pulled this cherry Calvin Klein dress below out of my closet this weekend, I looked at it, glanced at my sister, Jody, and said "can you try this on?" It fit her perfectly, (much better on her than me), so I told her to "keep it" and had fun putting the look together with an abundance of bold red details. Like the Bangles rocking out to their 1986 smash hit, today it's just another ~~Manic~~ Monochromatic Monday, so let's roll...

Choose your Shade (colors over neutrals preferably) ~ Whether it's pink, mint, or in this case red, you can wear the same shade all over. Mix patterns, textures or wear a top and pants in the exact same color. WhoWhatWear spotlighted the monochromatic trend a couple weeks ago here

'Honey, I'm Home'~ I love this house in San Francisco. And there is something slightly Desperate Housewives meets a modern day Betty Draper about a solid knee-length dress with a ladylike silhouette.

Release Your Inner Jessica Rabbit! ~ These red pumps courtesy of Report Footwear scream sexy and now that super-high platforms are taking a break this spring & summer, this is the perfect patent leather classic heel. (Montauk Report Signature heel here)

(Style Sidenote) Your body isn't a Fruit Salad ~ I wish articles offering women's fashion tips didn't compare female bodies to "pears" & "apples." Finding the most flattering dress is all about enhancing what you have and creating or downplaying what you don't. EXAMPLE ~ My sister doesn't really have hips, so this dress had flared out pleats that mimicked natural curvier hips. In the future, if you must compare your body to produce, be a StarFruit. ;)

(LOL) Only in SF ~ We had to laugh seeing these signs in the sidewalk planter boxes. I hate to bring this up, but due to the large homeless population in SF and the $250 fines plus public humiliation for pet owners not picking up their dog's mess; this is one of the only US cities I've seen where you'll pass by a pile of you-know-what and say to yourself without a doubt, "Ewww...that's definitely human."

Resort Wear 101~ Don't Travel this Summer without these Essentials

Do you ever wake up and just think"Yesss!" That's how I felt this morning because it's Friday and the weather in San Francisco this weekend will be unseasonably high in the 80's. Roof top happy hour anyone? :) While I'll be enjoying a little shopping and family time staycation in SF, I can't help but crave a real tropical destination later this summer.

In the mean time, my Fauxchella St. Tropez tan has faded since last weekend and I wanted to share some must-have vacay survivor essentials whether you're flying to an island across the world or simply heading to a hotel pool in your own city.

1. Loungeworthy Outfits are Key ~ I found these shorts recently at H&M and was instantly drawn to the vibrant scarf print pattern. The sheer lightweight top is also from there.

2. Reading Material is Crucial ~ Whether it's fashion mags or a novel, books are a life savor if you're in a location with no Internet. (Storitelling by Tori Spelling actually saved my vacation a few years ago when I was stuck on a Carnival Cruise from hell)

Day Clutches to the Rescue ~ These over sized clutches are a big trend this year and a perfect vacay essential. They can carry everything from a magazine, sunscreen, lipgloss, camera, hair ties, and even a pair of flip flops.

THE Day to Night Transition ~ If you've spent all day at the beach, pool or sightseeing, the last thing you want to do after a quick power nap is spend a long time prepping for dinner on vacation.

Here's some of my new fave anti high-maintenance travel beauty tips:

1. ADD some bold neon earrings (these are cheap from F21 since I always lose jewelry on vacations)

2. ADD eyeliner on the outer corners of your eyes for a more dramatic evening look. Instantly makes your eyes pop without looking over the top (I recently discovered Urban Decay glide on pencil in Demolition~$19.00 here)

3. Metallic Flats ~ high heels are a hassle on vacations so add metallic sandals or wedges

4. Hair ~ Sideswept, braids or pull your hair in a high pony, tease it and then wrap it around in a bun keeping it in place with bobby pins which is what I did here.

Coachella Style, Vodka Snowcones & Peak into my Video Diary

Have you seen Titanic 3D yet? If you'd like to experience the enhanced Trance-tanic experience, head to Coachella and try walking through the Sahara tent during a DJ mash-up holding onto your friend's hand for dear life. Before you know it, some teenybopper barrels between your linked arms and suddenly you're reliving that Leo & Kate moment pleading "Don't Let Go!" before being swept into a sea of glowsticks. Cell phone service is basically non-existent at the festival (especially AT&T which is the worst in general) and losing a friend in a crowd at Coachella risks the possibility of being separated for the rest of the day & night. Needless to say, I was super careful.

I spent the last four days bouncing around Palm Springs, La Quinta and the Polo fields at Coachella. Since it was my first time there, I snapped lots of pics, so let's get started.

Candyland in the Dessert ~ I spent the first night with friends (inlcuding my best buds Laura & Sean from their engagement photo post) at the Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs, CA. I will definitely be visiting again.

Chilly Coachella ~ Unfortunately Friday the 13th was cold and rainy, so we huddled up at the Hard Rock party doing arts & crafts getting our hair braided by Blo Dry Bar and spray painting T's by Lamb & Flag

Although, I wasn't familiar with the majority of artists there, I had a great time and captured video footage I'll call my 1st "Coachella in a Nutshell-a" condensing the trip into a 2 min Youtube clip below:

Cowboys & INDIOn's ~ Coachella Fashion has Arrived!

Deep in the desert of SoCal near the city of Indio, CA lies the massive 3-day music and art festival called Coachella. Weekend 1 starts tomorrow and I feel a little cliché discussing Coachella because it's all over blogs and sites right now. But for the first time, I'm actually going, instead of just reading my Facebook friend's status updates about it. From floral headbands to bottled water, I've learned there's a massive amount of effort that goes into preparing for a long weekend in the desert.

Of course, the festival fashion caught my attention. Based on the photos from past Coachella's, there's a fine line between women looking effortlessly bohemian/hippie chic and those who carefully plan out the details (which is the category I'd fall into). Who knew it could take so much prep to look like a modern day Woodstock party goer?

Here's what I've learned based on warnings, suggestions and festival style fashion tips in the past few days....

Dress comfortable, yet practical ~ No heels or wedges and while a cross body bag is best, back packs and any bag that can carry your essentials (like sunscreen & water) is a good option.

Rain this year at Coachella? Noooo...~This photo is in SF, but the ominous rain clouds and high winds are expected tomorrow at the festival. So there's been a frenzy of fashion advice on blogs suggesting parkas & rain boots in place of bikini tops & cutoffs. Mural by famed artist Brian Barneclo

Rayban Ban ~ Of course people can wear any sunglasses they prefer, but I've heard cheap ones are best. The likely hood of losing them or falling off during the concerts are high, so stick with an inexpensive pair. (floral aviators I found at F21 for under $6)

I need your style help~ From celebs to past festival photos, women always wear ankle or casual boots with shorts & sundresses (like in the pic at the end of this post). But now that it's Spring, where do you find them? SF is fresh out so if you know any last minute spots, let me know :)

Citrus Cycling! Tips to Tackle Colorblocking Plus Spring Sips & Styles

"No, you'll look like a tulip," my sister said as I held up a bright pink blazer with neon lime denim pants. "How about the green with the purple blazer?" I asked. "Uhh, you'll look like Barney," she replied. And last week, a teen boy chanted "Spongebob Squarepants" as I walked by in canary yellow trousers. The point is, you may risk looking like a cartoon character wearing them, but bright colored clothes are popping this Spring!

Colorblocking is still a tricky trend as I mentioned last year when Kim Kardashian stepped out in a Gucci mistake. After testing out BOLD shades, I've determined if you're going to wear neon denim or colorblocking, pick your favorite colors and just go for it! Below, I'll share a few colorblocking tips as part of a blogger collaboration called Spring Sips & Styles sharing outfits & cocktail recipes (plus a chance to win a pair of Tory Burch flip flops)...more on that later.

First, let's take a leisurely country ride through this Spring trend on our way to Margaritaville~

Colorblocking by Numbers ~ I found it's better to simplify this trend and it's easier to choose shades in the same color family. I went with a tangerine denim and this bright fitted blazer in a grapefruit hue.

Retro Cycling in Wine Country~ My dad has an affinity for cycling. Let's just say if you're ever stranded on a rural bike trail out of H2O and your Rockhopper has a flat, he's the guy you want pedaling by. He just found this vintage Schwinn at a sale for $25 and I added the H&M scarf for a bit of flair.

Neutralize the Shades ~ If you're wearing brights on top and bottom, I recommend sticking with a neutral, or metallic solid shoe and a tame colored handbag if you're already wearing 3 colors.

Timid to Colorblock? ~ If you're wanting to try out this trend in a small dose, try colorblock heels, multi-colored bracelets or a bright top with two or three different colors that does the trend for you.

Double Pop ~ Try a Pop of Color and Popping your Collar to change up a bright blazer or a polo on a guy. I also wanted to add a delicate necklace with wearing such bold colors. Necklace from Boticca I thanks to a giveaway from Stylish by Nature.

~Watermelon Margarita Time~

A Margarita is my fave summer cocktail, but it's not the most calorie friendly beverage. Fresh watermelon is a lower calorie fresh fruit margarita. Plus, I can make a batch in less than 10 minutes which is the most amount of time I like to spend in the kitchen daily.

Here's how I made it mostly following this recipe below:

16 oz seedless watermelon

1 Lime (squeeze into blender)

6 oz tequila (Sauza)

3 oz Orange Liquor (Patron)

(Sugar or salt for the rim)

Add everything in the blender with ice to the top & mix. If it's not strong enough, add more tequila.

Versace PEEPS! Hop into Spring's Brightest Shades

I'm just gonna come out and say it, I'm not a fan of Peeps. The original neon pink and yellow marshmallow Easter bunnies covered in sugar are cute, but when is the last time you saw a person enjoy a box of Peeps or a kid get excited to find them in their Easter basket?

Do you like candy? Since the moment it touched my tongue as a toddler, I was addicted. If you don't have a sweet tooth, you've probably had Sour Patch Kids at some point. Did you know there is a candy 100 times better than Sour Patch Kids? Better flavors, texture, sour-ness, everything! I'm talking about a sour Easter Bunny candy you've probably never had because Jelly Belly, the company that made them, discontinued the bunnies in April '06. The moment I learned this while visiting the factory to stock up that Spring in Fairfield, CA, I decided that I had get those bunnies back some day. And so began my candy journey:

May '06 - Out of sheer sugar withdrawals, I started experimenting with candy making my own sour Red Vines
Sept. '07- Went to the largest US Candy Convention in Chicago to research every sour candy on the market
Aug. '08 - Found a delicious sour gummy worm (Made my Jelly Belly) which was discontinued Summer '11
April '11 - Started selling my Sour Red Vines in SF
Jan. '12- Visited the Jelly Belly Factory and they're discontinuing more candy after losing major accounts like Target. As a Jelly Belly employee explained how they're sadly cutting candies, I glanced over at bins of jelly beans in flavors like "barf," "rotten egg," "vomit," "cenitpede," etc. No wonder they're losing store accounts. Joke candies and disgusting Harry Potter flavors aren't meant to be sold in bulk.
Feb. '12- Wrote the company and got a call back from a Marketing Director who addressed my candy concerns and confirmed they still have the recipe for those delicious SOUR BUNNIES, but don't anticipate them coming back (aka 'so you're telling me there's a chance').

Enough about candy for now, Spring '12 colors have never been brighter and it's perfectly acceptable to walk out of the house looking like an Easter egg. Colorblocking, pastels, neon and every color under the sun are the happiest way to start your spring off in style...

Spring Shades~ I decided to finally bring out my brightest yellow Versace for H&M dress & my sister's pink one from the line. (I know this line hit last fall, but I've actually seen quite a few Versace for H&M items including heels, dresses and purses bag in H&M stores recently that were returns)

Looking for a party or PROM dress? When shopping, I always look for unique 'backs' on dresses. Low back, exposed zippers and different designs are all details to check.

~Spring Heel Trends: Wear metallic heels like nude ones this spring & summer with any color or pattern. Also, try the monochromatic look choosing a heel the exact same color as your dress so you're one shade head to toe. (Silver heels- Versace for H&M, Pink Crispin heel - Report Footwear new Spring line)

These dresses are pretty shapeless and gaudy, but I really liked the studded designs and elaborate details.

Copying the style of 24-year-old highschoolers?~ Not gonna lie, I get a lot of style inspiration from Blair and Serena on Gossip Girl. If only I had their wardrobe budget, so I try to mix old items (like collared shirts, broken-in oxfords (Bamboo), vintage jewelry & purses, simple clutches). Then I add new affordable pieces like this H&M jacket and gold accessories.

Say Hello to High-Low Dresses & 5 Reasons to Date a Guy With a Mullet

It's a party dress in the front and a formal length gown in the back. I'm talking about the high-low trend (aka the mullet dress). Did the high-low dress may stem from all the men fed up with the super comfy, yet somewhat shapeless oversized maxi skirts? Where ever this trend originated, I recently found one at Forever 21 and while I wasn't gaga over the print, it's a spring style I highly recommend.

'Mullet' Mania

Of course, the mullet is an outdated hairstyle that is more of a Kenny Powers (jokes on him) kind of look these days. But hypothetically speaking, it seems like there are two types of men in this world personality wise. Although I know this is oversimplified, there is the kind of guy who would walk out of the house rocking a mullet and a guy who would never be caught in such a silly look risking the possibility of getting laughed at in public.

Hollywood: ~ There were photos snapped of Michelle Williams on a date with Jason Segel earlier this week. While people may seem a little surprised by the pairing, it got me thinking about whether most women would want to date a 'Don Draper' character for the long term or a Jason Segel "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (serious, but yet a goofball) type? Which leads me to:

5 Reasons to Date a Guy with a 'Mullet' Personality

1. You don't have to be a "comedian." But if you can laugh at others, please be able laugh at yourself.

2. I asked around a bit and one female friend told me if she's out and sees a group of guys paying attention to one guy in the group making them all laugh, she'll take notice of him.

3. Real Housewives of Orange County Case Study ~ If you watch this show, do you notice how Slade (currently dating Gretchen) is a bit of a slimeball, yet perpetually dates housewife after housewife and has them eating out of his hand? He's fine with the women making fun of him, doesn't take himself too seriously, and recently wore a mullet to their 80's party and had them all cracking up laughing (except for Vicki).

4. Post Grad Comedy School? I have a friend who actually wanted to increase his comedic qualities, so he took comedy courses (although he didn't need it as he's quite charming & funny in his own way)

5. There are all kinds of temperaments and men shouldn't try to be someone they're not. But just remember, in the long term, a fun-loving personality goes a lot farther than a six-pack for most women. Unless you're Kim Kardashian ;)

I totally get the appeal of Jon Hamm's character, but would you really want to be married to him?

How Do You Protect Your Body's Largest Organ? 3 Summer Sunscreen Secrets

As if dermatologists didn't hammer it into our sun-loving heads enough, now I am. Tanorexia is a real problem in America. I remember playing tennis in high school thinking it was fun to see how tan I could get my arms, legs and shoulders. Well, my teenage tanning determination paid off and the other day I noticed a few sunspots atop my shoulders. Oops!

I'd never judge a sun worshiper; after all in college I dabbled in tanning beds and laid out with my roomies marinating in baby oil. However, there came a point when I quit the "Sun" cold turkey (unless it's a healthy Vitamin-D dose) in fear of turning into a Magda mini-me. Plus, the risk of skin cancer scared me. I know some people are lucky and tan easily, but I still recommend daily sun protection on some level to everyone.

I shared my favorite sunscreen products a year ago, and now I want to give you an updated list:

My Three Favorite 2012 Sunscreens~

My current favorite daily sunscreen I put on my face, neck, and hands every morning is Neutrogena Sheer Liquid. It's super light weight, works for men and women, and doesn't cause break outs. I've read as long as it's SPF30 it's fine and doesn't need to be higher, but this happens to be SPF 70. You can find it here for $12.99

After the Neutrogena Sheer Liquid, I apply this Smashbox Photofinish primer SPF 15. I recommend makeup primers for all women who wear makeup because it helps your favorite cosmetics last all day and go on smoother. Since I use a daily primer anyway, the SPF is just an added bonus. Sunglasses with UV protection are always nice. Also, I first heard about Colorscience 5 years ago when Cameron Diaz said she loved this powder sunscreen. There are multiple shades and I use the "Medium Perfectly Clear" color. The mineral feel is perfect for oily or combination skin, plus it's SPF 30. It lasts me about 5 months if I use it everyday before I discovered the Neutrogena. Price $50 here

The easiest way to remind yourself to apply sunscreen each day is to have it in front of you, ie, your bathroom, makeup box, purse, golf-bag, at the office, in your car, etc. It's never too late to start using sunscreen either. The 3 products I mentioned are by far the most lightweight simple ways to wear sunscreen without feeling like it's caked on, but I'm constantly trying new ones so I'll always keep you updated.

Meeting Atlantic~Pacific & the Weekend In Instagram

Maybe it's your favorite movie star, a professional athlete, Madonna, Justin Bieber (jk), Rihanna, etc. who might give you butterflies meeting in person. But as most fashion bloggers might agree, there's a few at the top who would be inspiring to meet outside the blogosphere. Guys I know do not understand this at all, but I was definitely excited to meet uber fashionista and the creator of one of my favorite style blogs, Blair of Atlantic~Pacific, for a few minutes at the store opening of Alice+Olivia in San Francisco last Thursday.

Here's a little collage below by the clothing company, The City Supply Co. after its CEO, Wallace the pup, tagged along for the store opening. Wallace seemed less than enthralled with the meeting trying to wiggle out of my arms. But like I said, guys just don't 'get' fashion blogging behind-the-scenes. ;)

California Vintage & How Would You Compare to the Retro Housewife?

Mad Men, The Brady Bunch and Leave it to Beaver all have one thing in common; some pretty amazing housewives who keep cool under pressure (for the most part) and know how to sew, cook, etc. Sometimes I daydream about what it would be like to be transplanted into that role and era, but the thought of a table full of kids complaining about another dinner of choking down SPAM instantly snaps me back to reality.

However, I love creating retro restorations and altering vintage dresses, but I can't sew a lick. Every time I switch up a 60's or 70's dress, I consider it a K~DIY (Kinda Do-It-Yourself) project. I find a dress and decide if there's anyway to change it, then I cross my fingers and hope my affordable Bay Area seamstress, Grace at Lux Cleaners, can work her magic. These projects can be extremely inexpensive as well (total cost of the dress in this post~ $10 vintage dress at Clothes Contact, $7 dry cleaning, $20 alterations ~Total $37).

Here's my most recent K~DIY below. I tweeted this pre-altered before pic of the shapeless bright 60's vintage dress (right before it went under the scissors) that I'm wearing here:

Watermelon hues & bubblegum backgrounds ~ Yay! Spring is here and bright bold colors are everywhere.

My Vintage Restoration Rules~

1. Look for "in style" details. I liked the long sleeve and high neckline aspect of this dress.

2. I try to pair vintage dresses with trendy accessories. I feel like wearing an entirely vintage outfit head to toe is a little much. I went with these silver metallic heels & purse.

3. Accept It won't be perfect. The material of vintage dresses are often thick or may have weird lines, but try to alter it as best you can. It important your tailor is honest whether they can make changes or not. I had this dress taken in on the sides and shortened. This eliminated the belt loops so I could place the belt a little higher. What are your rules of wearing vintage?

Jessica Simpson Naming her Daughter What?! 7 "Guy" Name Downsides

"Jerry! Jerry! Jerry...!" I don't know about you, but I watched Jerry Springer and that final thought every morning during summer vacations in Jr. High. It was during that time, as an insecure teenage girl, I started to notice a disturbing trend. Beyond the cheating and cousin stealing; it seemed that every week there were multiple unsavory male guests in their 30's or 40's with the name, "Dale." By highschool, I was fed up with my Nascar guy name and decided to change it. I barged into the livingroom and told my parents I wanted a girly name. There were two options: 1. Change the spelling to "Dayle" which looked more feminine to me or 2. Change it altogether to something ending in 'Y'.

As I stormed off, my mom chimed in, "Well Dale, your middle name 'Janeé' is very feminine. It has an accent mark and it's French," she said."Really?" I asked, unaware of the accent. We weren't French, but that sounded kinda cool and fancy. A little more Waldorf' Astoria and less Sam Walton; so I dropped the name change idea.

Fast forward a decade. I recently looked at my birth certificate after losing my passport and discovered the accent on the 'e' was drawn on with a Sharpie! They probably added it right after that highschool fight and while briefly annoyed, there could be worse family secrets. Now moving on to a very pregnant Jessica Simpson.

From Jayden, Madison, Taylor, Jordan and Morgan; unisex names are popular. It was rumored last week that Jessica Simpson is going to name her new daughter, "Maxwell." There was also a story this month on the Today Show about whether more parents are increasingly regretting their kids' names. Often, it seems parents regret picking a name hard to pronounce, spell, or choosing a name so common that 5 other kids in their class have the same one.

Whether you're having a child soon or picking a name for a baby girl in the future, here's 7 drawbacks to having a predominantly male name:

1. I get mail every week titled "Mr. Dale..."
2. I have to require special notes on accounts that I'm a female (like cell phones, cable bills, etc.) so when I call in the customer service rep gives me access.
3. My identity was stolen in college by a 60-year-old man in Visalia, CA who collected disability checks for years using my name before anyone noticed
4. I get letters from the AARP and a membership application nearly every month
5. I constantly get accusatory or weird looks from sales associates thinking they caught me with a stolen credit card at stores. They look at my card and say "Your name is Dale? Can I please see your picture ID?" If I was a guy, I don't even think they'd check.
6. I hear "that's a guy name" or "I've never met a woman named Dale" multiple times a week
7. Since Dale Evans, (famous female country singer in the 40's & 50's) TV Shows & movies never have female characters named "Dale" and males with the name fit a certain mold. Please see below...

Celebrities change their names all the time and give their newborns unheard of monikers while they're at it. I'm a fan of unisex names and I'm fine with mine now, although I'm keeping that accent mark. If you're going through something like this with your daughter or son, keep a Sharpie pen on hand because having a less common name can have upsides too.

I've met a lot of people who go by nicknames, their middle name, or changed it for various reasons at some point in their life so this seems to be more common than I thought.

Spring Trending~Peplum, Polka Dots & America's Pastime

Batter Up! Spring 2012 has some seriously stylish trends including polka dots and peplum, both worth taking a swing at before they're "so last season." A few weeks ago during an unseasonably warm winter day, I took a brisk walk outside the home of the San Francisco Giants. The sailboats were out in the bay around AT&T Park and I could already smell the anticipation of opening day.

In case you could care less about major league baseball, spring training is about to wrap and the season will officially start in just a couple weeks. I'll share why adding a pop of peplum and polka dots into your wardrobe, along with going to a few games, should be at the top of your priority fun-list this spring.

I don't usually wear so many items from the same store, but as most semi shopaholics know, blackouts happen. I saw the red pants, then the top, then the hat on a recent visit to H&M and had to have them all.

Polka Dots are More Fun Now than Ever Before: They've been hot since last year and never truly go out of style. But now you can wear polka dots in all different shapes, sizes, colors and then mix the patterns or even pair them with stripes.

When in doubt picking an outfit in the morning, nautical is classic for men & women. Navy blue, red, white, stripes, gold detail...go for it. :) These heels are cheapo's from Footsies Shoe Warehouse in Orange County.

Peplum is one of the most versatile and flattering trends for women right now. Why? Because it can instantly alter and enhance your figure based on where the peplum detail is placed. If you want to accentuate a small waist, you can wear a peplum top. If you want to create more curves, you can wear a dress or skirt with peplum near the hip area. You can create a shorter or longer torso simply based on what part of the shirt has the trendy "p" detail.

Games can be a truly memorable time, but if you need to get in the mood, I recommend Netflixing A League of their Own, The Sandlot, and Field of Dreams. You may get invited to a game soon with friends, on a work outing or a date. Or you may have kids who play softball and baseball and they'll want you to go to their games.

Here's my top 3 tips to enjoy yourself and get slightly invested in America's pastime.

1. Know Baseball Basics ~ (3 strikes, 9 innings, 3 outs, 7th Inning stretch, cute MLB players, homeruns, etc.) It will make the game more entertaining if you have a general idea of what's going on and a favorite player to cheer on throughout the season.

2. Ballpark Tardiness ~ It's tough to sit through 9 whole innings. If you're on a date, suggest a pre-game drink or appetizers. This can easily shave off two innings. Unless it's a playoff game, you've traveled over an hour to get there, or you have seats behind home plate, a guy shouldn't care too much. If he freaks out and has to get there for batting practice (ie super early), I'd consider that a red flag.

3. Sunflower Seed Situation ~ If you're with friends or in a long term relationship, get crackin'. Sunnies are surprisingly addicting and make the game pass by much faster. But if you're on a first date, I recommend skipping them. A smile full of David's plastered across your chompers or a chipmunk cheek full of seeds can get tricky when you're trying to chat. (P.S. - Best seeds are Frito Lay salted)

Speaking of sports, I was on the 'Miller on Sports' sports talk radio show out of Jacksonville Florida 1600 AM with host, Richard Miller this afternoon. We discussed women's 'sporty' fashion and what's fun, fashionable and still comfortable to wear to major league basketball and baseball games to avoid looking outrageous like Kim Kardashian sitting courtside in real fur.
