Fix WordPress Ecommerce Shipping Calculator After 3.8 Update

Recently updated a WordPress site to WordPress Ecommerce 3.8. After doing so I noticed that when I tried to checkout, I got this message:

“Please enter a Zipcode and click calculate to proceed”

Problem was, the shipping calculator was gone! No sign of it. After unsuccessful Googling and WPEC forum digging I was still stuck. Then I remembered, during the updating process, WPEC copied my old WPEC theme files to my WP theme folder.

So what, right? WRONG. The 3.7.x version I was using was not compatible with 3.8.x!

Here’s what you do:

Backup the wpsc_shopping_cart_page.php file from your theme directory (In case you have markup customization you need to refer to).
Download the file wpsc_shopping_cart_page.php from /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-e-commerce/wpsc-theme/
Upload it to /wp-content/themes/your-theme-directory/
Profit!

Spektor Dental is a cosmetic, periodontal, and general dentistry service provider located in Bellevue, WA. The company came to us at Say This Say That looking to reimagine their web site for today’s standards in addition, make it more accessible for easy updates and news postings.

We designed a layout adhering to their established branding. We also set them up with a WordPress backend so the site would be easily accessible and editable in the future. The site features contact forms, blogs, and galleries, to make it easy for viewers to find out exactly what services the company provides.

Kraftwerk K9

Kraftwerk K9 is a trainer and breeder or German Shepherd dogs. The company wanted to bring their web site up to today’s standards with both a reworking of their back-end and front-end design.

The company has been around for quite some time. With this, they had a lot of archived testimonials/dogs to implement. Using WordPress, we developed the site to be easily update-able, searchable, and function clearly.

We also developed a custom form for the dog purchase agreements and secured the site for payment processing. We are happy to work with such an established local company and hope the new features we established in their site will be used for years to come.

Our Kitchen is a place for teenagers to spend after school hours to learn how to prepare wholesome and inexpensive meals. The non-profit came to Say This Say That looking to establish a web presence. The idea of the website is to reflect what they provide, in addition to having an up-to-date event schedule for those interested in attending their classes. The look of the site was to remain simple and straightforward.

Watersmith Docks & Stairs

Watersmith, an Olympia, WA based dock construction company came to us, at Say This Say That, to refresh their website. With that in mind, we created a clean layout to showcase their projects and make it clear as to what services they provide.

The site uses WordPress as its content management system. We also set up a gallery system for them to display past projects of theirs.

Yasmeen Sands Portfolio

We designed and developed a site to focus on easily presenting her work. Using WordPress, Yasmeen has the ability to update and make news posts from any computer in the world.

By His Word is an established Christian Center located in Tacoma, WA. The organization came to Say This Say That looking to redesign their web site from the ground up, with emphasis on making the site easier to navigate, update, and function.

Using WordPress, we developed what was requested. The site features an easy to update calendar of events, blog, and media archive. The media archive was built to support both audio and video for their numerous updates.

Law Offices of Robert C. Pittman

Robert Pittman is a well known lawyer in the Seattle area. He originated and hosted Legal Line with Bob Pittman, a call-in legal advice radio talk show for CBS affiliate KIRO Radio in Seattle, Washington, for many years. Robert contacted Say This Say That to redevelop his web site into an online broadcasting platform for his radio show. At Say This Say That, we designed and developed a web site that would be easy for him to stream and upload his radio show to.

We also set Robert up with a Ustream account to live broadcast his show across the internet. If users miss a show, they can visit the website to download past recordings. With the platform that Say This Say That developed, we hope Robert can continue helping people with their legal matters in new and exciting ways!

Olympia Film Festival 2010

It’s that time again! We teamed up with the Olympia Film Society, for the design and development of the 27th Annual Olympia Film Festival. R. Storey created great looking artwork for this years poster. We were asked to impliment this artwork into the website as best as we could. Using WordPress as our content management system, we created a custom post format to catalog movies, so each movie has its own page, and an entry on the Movies page. The festival’s lineup this year has something for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to check it out!
