To say the United States is confused when it comes to the Middle East would be one of the greatest understatements in history.

But it’s worse than that. Not only are we confused, but the rest of the world laughs at us behind our backs – and all because we now have an Administration that simply has no idea what it’s doing when it comes to the Middle East.

What this leads to is increasing oil prices, increasing gas prices for you and me and a region even less stable than it otherwise would be if people were certain of what we thought. The problem is no one can be sure, because we ourselves have no clue.

Why Governor Scott won’t play with the President’s train set

Florida Governor Rick Scott rejected stimulus money to build a high speed rail link between Orlando and Tampa – and he got this call so incredibly right! In the State of the Union and in the President’s budget, these high speed links which the country doesn’t want, featured prominently.

Of course the President pushing for it is something that is easy to do when he doesn’t have to pay for it. He doesn’t have to concern himself with pesky things like will people actually use it or will it cost yet more taxpayer money?

I am so sick of the PC world that we live in. It keeps dragging this nation that is hanging on to greatness by its fingernails, closer and closer to the abyss. And now today, news reaches me of a local newspaper columnist that attacked a High School coach over his cutting of a player trying out for baseball. The player has no legs.

The reality is however, if this player with no legs had been able to prove himself better than others trying out, he would have made the team. But there were players better than him. Some would say they are better becausethey have legs. Others would say they are simply better.

It is almost ten years since 9-11 and today we find out via the UK’s Daily Telegraph and Wiki Leaks, that there were four more plotters.

Don’t we as Americans have a right to know? Should we not recognize their names in a heartbeat? Should we not be seeing their faces on network news shows every night while we try and hunt them down?

Then why has the Government been so secretive about them and why is it Wiki Leaks and a foreign newspaper that is breaking this story?

This is the man who ran with the slogan “let’s get to work”. But this is now the man that took most of the $3 Million bill for the inauguration from those very same special interest groups.

Today was a shocking day. The United Nations made an earth-shattering announcement!

The UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change should only make predictions when it has solid scientific evidence and avoid straying into policy advocacy!

Although this is funny on one level, it is extremely serious on another. Congress is seriously considering a Cap and Tax bill which will dramatically increase the burden on business and on the population at a time whenObama’s economy is imploding.

PODCAST: OUR FREEDOM IN DANGER… FROM THE PRESS

Yesterday we witnessed an incredible event in our nation’s capital. Starting at the feet of the Lincoln Memorial and stretching back to the Washington Monument and beyond, at least a million people gathered without violence; without arrests; without banners and with no hatred in their hearts to celebrate America. In fact it was even more than that for those at Glenn Beck’s“Restoring Honor” event. But if you get your news from the mainstream media, it was of little or no importance – unless of course you could find a way to attack it.

Today’s podcast is all about our Freedom – and about the people who are supposed to be the guardians of that freedom – our press.

When the press stops doing its job, then freedom is threatened. We have all seen in our lifetimes that one of the first thing dictatorships do is to take over the media. They must control the message in order to retain power.

We are not there yet, but we have a Press that is no longer ashamed of it’s bias. In fact it makes no effort to hide it at all. That places all of us in danger. Black, white, yellow, red. Left wing, right wing. Democrats and republicans and the vast majority of us – independents.

So at 92 years old and 58 years after he first entered the United States Congress, Robert Byrd is finally dead.This former member of the Ku Klux Klan is apparently being deeply missed already. Well not by me.

The length of time he spent in Congress is part of the problem and certainly not something to be admired – especially as Byrd continued with his racist outpourings long after he left the Klan.

As Florida Governor Charlie Crist Removes the Pro-Life Section of his Campaign Web Site, many are asking if he is finally showing his true left wing credentials. I don’t think so. I don’t think the Governor is left or right; RINO or Reaganite. Crist is simply about power and all that brings to him in terms of his own ego and prestige.

The Governor will certainly use the VETO pen again this week to get rid of a Florida law which would make it mandatory for pregnant women to get an ultra sound in the first trimester, before they would be allowed an abortion. This too is about power.

PODCAST: IT’S A DIRTY JOB, BUT THE WHITE HOUSE WANTS TO DO IT!

So I heard this morning about this small Bank in Chicago that was in trouble.

I thought “here we go again” as I expected yet another Bank to be added to the growing list of failed ones in 2010. But THIS Bank is special. THIS Bank has the ear of the President.

And so on looking a little deeper I discover that not only is it going to be saved, but on top of OUR money will be money provided by a variety of “interesting” first financial responders.

I know it’s Chicago and I know we all just seem to expect things to be dirty, but I am amazed that the MSM continues to ignore things that lead to the White House.

PODCAST: SECOND MOSQUE PLANNED FOR 9-11 CRATER LIP – DISGUSTING!

Not content with one HUGE mosque at the site of 9-11 in New York, now a second set of Muslims is planning a Mosque EVEN CLOSER to the crater lip that still scars that incredible American city.

A scrolling banner on the Mosque’s website reads “Build ‘the House of Allah’ next to the World Trade Center”!

This is of course taking place in the same country whereAmerican kids wearing American flag T-shirts in an American school were kicked out for being – and I quote – INSENSITIVE – because it was Cinco de Mayo.

Two Mosques however, at the site of the biggest attack on American civilians in history perpetrated by Islamic extremeists is not at all “insensitive”.

At least that’s what I’m reading into the silence of the Administration.

DO NOT LET THIS AMERICA PASS INTO HISTORY

I just walked outside my front door with my neighbors and watched the final launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis - the 32nd such launch of this particular space craft. I watched the last launch – Discovery – live from Cocoa Beach – and I find it almost impossible to believe that we are witnessing the end of American manned space flight.

To say we have lost our way would be an understatement in the extreme. It is way more than that.

We have apparently completely forgotten who we are and who we are supposed to be.

Please listen to today’s podcast as we all feel our hearts swell with pride at American innovation, invention and spirit of adventure. I hope we are not witnessing such things passing into history.

PODCAST: DON'T CELEBRATE THE UK'S NEW 'CONSERVATIVE' PRIME MINISTER

So the UK has a new Prime Minister in so-called ‘Conservative’ David Cameron (pictured here in a link from The Times with new Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Democrats, Nick Clegg).

Should we be celebrating this move back to the right in our closest ally? Or should we try and understand that the UK just elected another socialist – albeit less socialist than his predecessor Gordon Brown?

You see the choice facing European countries is always one of degrees of socialism. “Conservative” in the UK does not contain any similarities with “Conservative” here in the United States.

Cameron ran on “hope and change”. He pledged “an army of 5,000 trained community organizers” and after selecting his Cabinet today, his first act has been to leak that he is going to tax the rich.

UK in political turmoil - what does it mean for us?

So the UK election has ended in a "hung parliament" which simply means no single party gained enough seats to be able to form a Government on its own. The party with the biggest number of seats is the Conservatives, but they will need Liberal Democrat support if they are to successfully form a Government.

What does all of this actually mean? Especially to us here in the United States. Well lets start with the fact that in the UK the electoral choice is one of degrees of socialism with the Conservatives being the least socialistic.

Having said that, let's look at some of these quotes from the man most likely to be Prime Minister - David Cameron. "I'm here because I want to bring change to this country. We can restore hope in our future." The emphasis was mine. Oh and a reminder - that's the CONSERVATIVE! Sound familiar? But wait - there's even more!

Cameron wants to create "an army" of 5,000 "trained community organizers to help people tackle social problems". And just this morning in his public offer to the Liberal Democrats, Cameron said he agreed with them and wanted to make Britain a "low carbon economy" - buying into the Global Warming nonsense that even the population of the UK is increasingly distrusting of.

This is relevant to us, because it is a REAL glimpse of our future. If this country re-elects the President in 2012 then Government run health care will be with us forever. The reason? You can never take back a huge entitlement program because the people start to believe it's "free stuff" and even though that's not true, no politician could be elected on a promise to take back "free stuff".

Even Margaret Thatcher said "The National Health Service is safe in our hands". And if she hadn't of said that, she would never have been the greatest Prime Minister in the UK since Churchill.

Where that ultimately leads is to a selection of political parties that are pretty similar. We have the beginnings of that right now with Progressives like Lindsay Graham and Charlie Crist posing as Conservatives. Even though Crist is no longer running as a Republican, he still wants you to believe he's a Conservative. But he's not. He's a Progressive - just another side of the same coin that would find Hillary Clinton on the flip.

So it will take a couple of days for Britain to announce it's new Prime Minister. In all probability it will be David Cameron from the Conservatives as he has the most votes and the most seats at 306 as I write this. But 306 is 20 short of an overall majority and so he will have to deal.

Don't count current Prime Minister Gordon Brown out just yet. He too has made overtures to the Liberal Democrats, but he would actually need other parties as well to get him past the winners' line.

However this turns out, I predict that there will be another general election in the UK within 12 months. When these type of deals are done, they never last!

As for us - well the "special" relationship that exists between the United States and Great Britain has been under strain since our President took office. This will do nothing to improve it, but ultimately the friendship will be renewed with new leaders on both sides of the Atlantic.

THE JOY OF GIVING BACK

For five years my way of giving back to my community has been to coach High School tennis. I have often said it is the most rewarding three months of my year. My teams have always done well, but this year we have done exceptionally well.

Last week and for the first time since 1999, both the boys and girls Dr Phillips High School teams won the Metro Conference Titles – going through the season unbeaten against Metro competition.

Yesterday we went out for the second day of a two-day tournament and both of my teams won the District Championships as well – something that hasn’t happened since 1997.

The women amassed a huge 19 point total out of a possible 21 and secured the Lines One, Three, Four and both Doubles Lines Championships. These kids have so much heart and work for each other as well. One of my girls has been struggling with a knee injury all year. Despite that she was the one who played a three hour match and ultimately it was her result that secured the championship.

While the women dominated, the men did something truly remarkable. They didn’t lose a single match over the two days and won all seven Line Championships, returning the maximum score of 21.

Now they head to the Regional Semi Finals, but no matter what happens in those matches, we will be sending four players directly to the State Championships.

I always find it interesting when the President speaks of community service. He always seems to talk about it in a way that suggests people will be compelled to do it and punished in some way if they don’t. That is not the REAL America. The REAL America consists of hundreds of thousands of people each day giving back to their community because they want to. Because they know it’s the right thing to do. Because they want to help their fellow citizens. We don’t need to be compelled to do anything – and frankly it would mean less if we were.

If you are looking for a way to give back to your community, I strongly recommend coaching High School sports. It’s hard work; time consuming but as I already said, the most rewarding part of my year each and every year.

PODCAST: CRIST SHOULD VETO THE TEACHER MERIT PAY BILL

I’m sure he’s thinking about it. I’m sure he is not actually thinking about the issue, but more about what effect his signing or vetoing the teacher merit pay bill that is waiting on his desk will have on his chances of being elected the Senator for the State of Florida. Charlie is a serial candidate. He is a political professional and he understands way more than we do what his options are.

But this is about the education of our kids and also about the people who teach them. My take is simple Charlie – and will perhaps shock regular readers and listeners. Veto it! Not because we don’t need to change some things, but because this is a bad Bill. This gives power to the kids and provides fear for the teaching profession.

My regular readers and listeners know that I never just say “don’t” – I always offer up a solution. So click on THIS LINK and you will hear exactly what that solution is. It involves much higher pay for teachers and the ability to get rid of the bad ones.

PODCAST: OBAMA THE APPEASER

The President announced the new United States in an interview with the New York Times today. What he said boils down to this. If you are a non nuclear country and abiding by the international non-nuclear proliferation treaty, then you can attack us with little consequence. You can take out half the population of the USA and you will only receive a conventional response. Our nukes are off the table.

This act of appeasement is treason.

I really don’t think there is any other word for it. Every President before him has not even discussed when we might offer a nuclear response to an attack. The threat alone has kept us safe. THIS President has said “go right ahead – while we will attack you, we won’t destroy you”. I am genuinely shocked. Every day this President seems to take us somewhere new. Is THIS the change you voted for?

NOW EASTER SUFFERS A ‘PC’ FATE!

I’m sure when you see the image above, you immediately think of Spring! Oh and of course “how amazing is that?”. Well if it does make you think of that wonderful time of the year, you should fit right in when you go and visit Davenport, Iowa because the City Administrator just got done removing “Good Friday” from the year and replacing it with “spring holiday”. Doesn’t that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?

PC will kill this nation if we are not careful. I’ve seen it happen in the UK and we are all seeing it happen before our very eyes here. We see it at Christmas and we see it in the lack of competitive sports for our kids. We see it when it comes to black people (truly I don’t have any African American friends – just some black ones) and we see it in positive discrimination in just about every walk of life today. PODCAST: A JOURNEY TO THE FUTURE

Step into my time machine as we take an-ever-so-short trip to the near future. You see the United Kingdom is about to have a General Election and there are two socialist parties trying to win it. There are the socialists (the Labor Party) who have been in power for the last 13 years and then there are the socialists who call themselves the Conservative Party. Not since Margaret Thatcher has that party – which is expected to win by the way – been even close to a Conservative Party.

Now seems like the perfect opportunity to see what socialists will do with extended periods of power – and it’s very interesting because our current Administration is trying to get to the same place oh so much faster than 13 years.

To sum it up education, immigration, health and defense are all serious issues in the coming ballot. I’ll be saving the worst economy and budget deficit since World War Two for a subsequent podcast. If that all sounds familiar add to it a leader who looks his people in the eye and lies to their faces and you will understand that we are so close to following them it is truly frightening.
